Folded Owl

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 2nd of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge reveal.  This is an international card exchange.  You make a card, send a card, get a card.  Everyone gets a card, everyone wins.  Check out the reveal to see all the awesome cards that winged their way around the world last month.  Here's mine.  It flew all the way to Dawn in New Zealand.  Quite certain it took a plane cos it actually flew quite fast this month!!!  The mail has been erratic, as you can probably understand.  Anyway.....

Iris Folding was one of the technique options.  It's been ages since I iris folded, and it's a great way to use small bits of paper.  I found a few scraps of gold textured wrapping paper I had kept cos they were pretty and cut them into inch wide strips.  The brown was some handmade printed paper scraps I bought in  Nepal many moons ago.  I die cut an owl shaped aperture in my card using a Spellbinders die and added some googly eyes and small bits of yellow for beak and feet.  I used some printed borders for the frame and the sentiment is from a TH set.

You can find the whole reveal HERE.
If you would like to join the fun the November SIGN UP is open until the 6th November.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Papercraft Challenge 63 - Herbstfarben/Autumn Colours
Allsorts Challenge Week 596 - For Children/Teens although I made this for Dawn, who is young at heart, I think this design would be perfect for a child or teen.

You have outdone yourself with this one Gail, it is stunning. Love the iris folding, I have never done it so there is another thing to go on my list of things to try xx

So pretty! Love that you chose the iris folding option. I have attempted this technique once but gave up almost instantly. Maybe I should give it another go.

OMG, I LOVE this. Elegant, but cute and I don't know why I feel that way - guess because of the Iris folds. I've never done anything like that.

Fabulous folding, Gail! Never tried this as it looks so complicated. Let's not start an iris folding challenge. Jo x
