It Moose Be Love

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh, it's the last of May already.  So a final little push to link up to some challenges I've been meaning to support.  It takes a lot to host a challenge, think up the theme, organise the team, make some inspiration pieces, comment on the entries, pick a winner, organise a prize, send it out, do it all again.......  So thank you to all the companies and private individuals who are doing this.  Please take the time to leave these awesome sites a little thank you for all the effort they put in to keep us entertained.  Please don't take them for granted.  It's so easy to link and run, but the world needs more love, as much as it can get, and you never know, it may be that day, at that moment, when the comment you leave means more than you will ever know.  I'm not fishing for comments for myself, although it always warms my heart when you do take the time to say hi, but for those places doing a little bit extra to bring love and smiles into the world.  Thank you blogland, you rock!

And now, for a little moose love........

I was thinking new baby....

It's an easel card.

I used papers, dies and stamps from Marianne Designs

Sea Shells in Her Hair

Hello Nomad friends.  Today I have some final inspiration for Lost Coast Designs Under the Sea challenge.  The challenge closes 23.59 PST 31st May so I hope you will grab your stamps and join the fun.   I've used one of Lost Coast Designs fabulous mermaids, Butterfly Mermaid, and the awesome Bubbles Background.

I made a white embossed background with distress inks and Lost Coast Designs Bubbles Background.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Butterfly Mermaid on pink card, coloured with distress markers and fussy cut her.  I cut the panel with a stitch rectangle die, mounted on a dark green base card and stamped the Lost Coast Designs Congratulations down the side.

Wedding Dangles

Hello Nomad friends.  I've made another paper clip tag.  This one has a wedding theme.  These are great for using up scraps.  I am using 7cm wide paper clips for these.

I used a navy and a pink scrap, cut them to layer on top of each other with a fishtail shape.  The word Bryllup, which is Norwegian for wedding, were a printed border on the edge of a designer paper sheet.  I cut Poppystamps silver bells from a scrap of script paper and fussy cut a pre-printed Craft Creations wedding couple.  The metal heart is from Korthobby and I did a twine wrap around the top to add a little extra interest.

Scrappy Botanics

Hello Nomad friends.  The summit of scrap mountain is not in sight but browsing gently on the lower slopes yielded this tag.

I sprayed lime green packaging with gold paint and cut my tag using Stamplorations Luggage Tag die.  I cut green and yellow scraps with Poppystamps Orchard Leaves and Hampstead Bloom dies and arranged them in an ascetically pleasing manner.  I added red rhinestones to the flower middles, a piece of hemp twine and a preprinted sentiment.

Cycle Path

Hello Nomad friends.  I've made a card for a Confirmant, which is very popular here in Norway when the kids turn 16.  I had a play with some designer papers, dies and stickers and came up with this......

I used Papirdesign Sykel paper, both the blue frames side and then the brown cycle side on top.  I decided to cut the top layer with the Papirdesign scalloped Vipps die frame and also used some scraps to frame the Papirdesign Gratulerer 2 stickers.  I added the Konfirmant diecut on a scrap of kraft card.

LAN

Hello Nomad friends.  Needed a card for a gaming enthusiast.  Hunted hi and lo.  Hmmmmmmmmm..  Ah ha, old stash!  Little printed books from LOTV.  Perfect...

I cut around the monitor and games boxes so I could slip the sizzix mixed media dies behind and get a partial cut.  I edged the panel with blue ink and mounted it on a blue foil base card and added a SL pre-printed happy birthday greeting.

Purr-fect Pussy

Hello Nomad friends.  I hope you are having an awesome Saturday.  I was reminded of a record I had when I was young about a blue cat.  Well, anything blue is good in my book.......... Gotta love a cute cat!!!

I used a pale blue card base and stamped the Rubber Dance grid and stitched stamp from Mixed Media Marks using Sky Blue archival ink.  The stitch stamp is one of the extra bonus stamps you get in the A5 clear stamp version of this set.  Then I stamped the Rubber Dance Cat and the Happy Birthday on white card using Night Sky archival, fussy cut and added them to the card.

I hope you like my cute and easy card. If you feel inspired to grab your stamps and create something, don't forget to join the fun and link up your makes using Rubber Dance stamps in the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge.  They are giving away a €10 voucher to the shop every month.  See you there!!!

Snow Gnome

Hello Nomad friends.   I have some inspiration for the current Let's Squash It! challenge.   This month we want you to grab some of those scraps and combine them with your embossing folders.

I found a blue panel and trimmed it to size slightly smaller than my same colour base.  Then I found a strip of blue pearlescent card with a matt core, tore it, added it to the panel and embossed the whole thing with a snowflake folder from a magazine.  A Lost Coast Designs Santa gnome in Chimney, simply stamped on a scrap of white card and fussy cut.  Then I put the three pieces together.  Done!!

I hope you find time to grab your scraps and embossing folders and join the fun at Let's Squash It!

So Tweet

Hello Nomad friends.  I made this card using some of Rubber Dance's new clear stamps.  Due to problems with supply of the rubber sheets Susanne took the decision to order some of her designs in clear photopolymer.  They are excellent quality, made in the UK and come in A5 size, so you even get an extra stamp or two than on the rubber sets.  I used Textured Birds and Mixed Media Marks for this card.

Always loved these textured birds.  Now I have an extra one to love LOL.  Isn't he cute!!  I stamped the bird with black archival and masked him.  Then I stamped the stitched line with Sepia archival and the doodled circle with Dandelion archival.  I cut the panel with a rectangle stitch die and used the grid stamp off block and randomly stamped around the panel edge with Sky Blue archival.  I added a little distress ink colour to the sun and edged the panel and the white base card with blue ink.  A sort of anyday card!

The some of the new clear stamps are on sale at Rubber Dance and don't forget to subscribe to the newsletter for extra discounts and all the news.....

Scraptastic

Hello Nomad friends.  Today I decided to see if I could work out what this paperclip card trend is all about.  Never heard of it??  I think it's a Scandi thing.  I certainly haven't seen giant paperclips featuring many other places.   They call em cards, but basically it's like a scrappy tag.  I suppose some people are making em as little folded cards, but why stick a paperclip on the top if you aren't gonna hang it from something??  Basically you need a paperclip, big as you like, some scraps and other crafty goodies like stamps, dies, embellishments etc. etc. etc.........   And then this happened........

Not sure I'm hooked, but am rather pleased with this.   And it used scraps, so win win.....   I used a scrap of card I'd brayered with PaperArtsy paints and then sprayed with gold shimmer mist.  I cut Aall and Create Number Crunching die from a scrap of patterned paper, stuck it on the painty scrap and cut it to size.  I had a bit of the painty scrap left over so I cut the two fishtail pennants which I edged with black ink, and used two other pieces and some screw effect brads to attach it to the paperclip.  I stamped Aall and Create Dashing Crow, coloured and fussy cut.  I added two clock metal charms from Korthobby, the clock on the paperclip and then a cute cuckoo clock on the crow's jacket.  Might make a fun bookmark LOL.

Elegant in Paris

Hello Nomad friends.  10th of the month so time for a new challenge at Let's Squash It!   This month we want you to Squash Those Scraps!!!!   Any embossing folder and include scraps on your card.  I was inspired by Jo's fabulous Technique Time post to squash some patterned scraps.....

I found some scraps......

Arranged them in a pleasing manner and squashed with sizzix Paris embossing folder.

I decided to highlight the texture with distress ink, yellow ink on the yellow bits and blue ink on the blue/white bits.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut Crafty Individuals elegant lady and added a norwegian Rubber Dance stamped sentiment which reads to a friend.....

Crazy Flower Bottle Tag

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy Thursday!!!  I hope it has been productive.  Mine's been a bit up and down, including saving the cat from a small horse that took big exception to her, and from another cat who just wanted to beat her up.  She tends to follow me around, more dog like than cat, and sometimes we wander places other animals feel are their space.  I am but ooman!!!!!  She's safely curled up on the couch so no harm done me thinks.  But after all the animal drama I did manage to make a bottle tag...

I used an Avery Elle die for the tag and stamped with Rubber Dance Crazy Flower stamps.  I coloured the flowers with Promarkers and gave the background a watercolour wash.

If you are making anything using Rubber Dance stamps you can add it to the album in the fb group for a chance to win a voucher to the shop.

Under a Crocodile Sun

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 2nd of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge Reveal.  34 awesome card makers this month.  We send love around the world one card at a time.   You make a card, you send a card, you get a card.  Everyone gets a card, everyone's a winner.  This month my card went to Suze in New Zealand.

There are always lots of options to choose from each month and this time I used the colours, Charcoal, Lime and Bumblebee (exact matching not required), Wild and Slimline.  The giraffe is a sizzix colorize die and once I got the two largest pieces cut I delved into the scraps.  The sun is a really old fat red sizzix die cut from a scrap of crocodile paper and a bit of yellow.  The grass was a ex-packaging box I sprayed with gold paint and then cut with Mama Elephant Grass die.  The little Hi speech bubble is a stamp and die from Time 4 Tea, all mounted on a textured white slimline base.

Hop over to the blog for the whole REVEAL.
