Chihoahoa

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy July!!  Halfway to the silly season and over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we are all about Christmas this month.  I am also elfing out with Jo's 100th Christmas Kickstart Challenge!!  Awesome achievement and so much fun to be Jo's elf for this special challenge.  The theme is Merry Go Round and we want to see spots, dots and circles on your xmas cards.

I've used the gorgeous Taco John from Lost Coast Designs and given him some furry baubles to bark at, created using Lost Coast Designs small Circle Shadow Frame and a bit of gold sharpie doodling.  Taco John borrowed his hat from Lost Coast Designs Santa Mona.  She is very good at lending it out and so stylish TJ!!

So, the choice is yours!

Shadow of an Elf

Hello Nomad friends.   Another lovely sunny cold day here today.  Enjoying the solar power so much.  It really does raise the spirits and energy levels.  Might wrap up and go sit outside, but probably just admire it from the safety and warmth of the kitchen LOL.

Sharing a pretty little easel Christmas card today.  I am not sure who made these pretty papers, cos they came from a friend, but they could be stamperia???

For the front of the card I used a printed sheet with an arch and flowery winter scene.  I mounted it on my front panel and cut around the edge of the arch to give a pretty shape.  Then I added the panel to the easel base, covered the bit at the top that you see with another piece of the pretty paper and rounded the corners.  I cut the Studio Designs Elf from another piece of the paper and added her to the card.  I cut two tiny hearts from silver glitter card to add to the baubles and glitter glued the snowy fields at the base of the panel.

I used the same paper that I cut the elf from to line the inside of the card and added a die cut stamped panel for the easel stopper, die and stamp from Kort og Godt.  God Jul = Merry Christmas

Hearts and Baubles

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh, the last of the month.  Maybe there is still time to join a last few challenges.  I made another Christmas bauble card and I've used Hunkydory toppers for the main image.  Perhaps I should set myself a challenge to use some of these every month.  Stay tuned...........

I used a silver base card and added a navy scrap panel embossed with a hearts embossing folder.  I found some silver scrap and cut with a bauble die and embossed with a sizzix christmas jumper type folder.  I used the bauble die to cut a hanger for the Hunkydory circle and arranged everything in an ascetically pleasing manner with some pretty wool strings.

Back to Black

Hello Nomad friends.  Made a simple Xmas card today using black card base and panel and then some embossed rose gold mirror card for a fabulous pop of bling.  Camera didn't do too shabby a job on this difficult subject today.

I used bauble impresslits to cut and emboss the bauble and Papirdesigns God Jul dies also cut from the rose gold card.  The impresslit folder is having it's first outing with me but the black card, rose gold mirror and god jul dies are old treasures.

Ray of Light

Hello Nomad friends.  Today has been a sparkly sort of day.  Another Christmas card to add to the stash.

I used the very beautiful rays embossing folder on gold mirror card for the background.  The tree is Crafty Individuals Little Christmas Tree.

Be Still My Glittery Hart

Hello Nomad friends.  It all looks so pretty in the real, except for the fact that the 'no shed' was not entirely accurate!  Glitter and mirror card are a challenge to photograph aren't they, and now everything and me looks like a glitter explosion.  Bling!!!!!!

I used blue archival to stamp the Crafty Individuals Seeing Stars Background on the background panel and then added some strips of silver glitter tape.  I cut a bauble from silver glitter using a circle die and cut the bauble hanger from silver mirror card.  The deer is Crafty Individuals Highland stag stamped with blue archival on white card and fussy cut.

Rubber Dance Sponsors the Christmas Cat Lovers Hop

Hello Nomad friends.  As you may know The Christmas Cat Lovers Challenge, which is being hosted over at The Christmas Kickstart Challenge blog, is in full swing and Rubber Dance is one of the sponsors.  For many years in October Janis Woolbright hosted the Cat Lovers Hop on her blog. Janis was a great friend, inspiration and support to many. She passed away suddenly in January 2023 and this event is a tribute and remembrance of her. Rubber Dance was one of the sponsors of the Cat Lovers hop for many years and Susanne has kindly offered a €10 voucher to the shop. There are lots of other sponsors too, so do hop over and check out all the fun and games.  Today Rubber Dance is a featured sponsor and I have made this card using a stamp from Garden Cats and stamps from Textured Xmas Trees for the tree and the cat's hat!!!

I did a fair bit of outside the box thinking for this card.  The cat is the cat, but I wanted a hat, so a Textured Xmas Tree coloured red with a bit of hand wiggle cut white glittery card for the fluffy brim seemed the thing.  For the mat, upon which I set the cat, I used a grid stamp from Mixed Media Marks, stamped on white card, deckle cut and roughly coloured with green Promarker.  I stamped and fussy cut another of the Textured Xmas Trees and coloured it.  I decided it needed a pot and used the large round bauble from Watercolor Xmas, with the top cut off and stamped with a snowflake from Whimsical Winter.  The sentiment is a collaboration of two stamps from Purr-fect! and Christmas Tags stamp sets.

Hop over to the Christmas Kickstart Challenge and check out all the awesome fun and games.  There be prizes.

Screwed

Hello Nomad friends.  It's been a day.  Not convinced I got my colours right on this, but it looks better in the real.

I used a diamond pattern card panel, stamped Crafty Individuals Bauble into the pattern and embossed with silver powder.  I used a sky blue Promarker to colour the baubles and distressed the panel edge and coloured with cadet blue Promarker.

I took three bottle caps, squashed them a little to reflex the edge and ran various blue Promarkers around the inside rim.  I stamped the smallest stamp from the Bauble set on dark blue card, embossed with silver powder and die cut with a circle die.  i glued the die cut embossed circles into the bottle caps.

I added the bottle caps and three screw brads to the baubles and mounted the panel on a blue card base.

Coffee Gnome Tag

Hello Nomad friends.  One more tag for today and then I'm out to do a little tidying in the garden if the weather holds.  This tag was inspired by Elena's cute tag on day 8 of Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags event. As soon as I saw the cute bear sitting on a stump I thought about Lost Coast Designs Coffee Gnome, also sitting on a stump!

Sqquuuuuueeeeee!  Too cute.  I used Winnie and Walter Carly die cuts to make the bauble.

I wanted this tag to be a little card so there was more space to write so I cut the frame and inner circle and then used the frame die to cut a folded base, offsetting the die so I kept the hinge.  The blue inner circle was a scrap of blue card I found that had some blue brusho sprinkles on it.

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Coffee Gnome and the Rubber Dance mushroom on a scrap of grey card, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  Mushroom footstool!!  Perfect.  I've added a piece of flat fluffy white ribbon to his hat and then went crazy with some white snowflake stickers.  May I draw your attention to the bow????  Gosh, did I do that??  White organza with red dots and a bit of plain red ribbon behind to tie it on a present or tree, although obviously we also have the free standing option as well.

One Too Many

Hello.  Welcome.  I just found Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas 2019 Challenge.  I'm a bit late to the party, cos they are already on day 10, but the inspiration is lovely and I am in tag mode at the moment so...........

All the tags are being inspired by a christmas carol so I'm going to start with Day 1 and Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer.  I really liked Therese's double tag and cute little deer, and I was going that way, when this rudolf stumbled across my path and it all ended up CAS with him as the star.

I stamped Panduro's Deer on white card and embossed.  I coloured with Promarkers and then cut my tag using Sizzix Arch Tag dies.  His feet were outside the tag area, so rather than cut them off!!!! I fussy cut round them and then did a bit of fancy die cutting.  Phew!!  I was going to do something in the background but he looked so fab just like that that I just added a bit of Stormy Sky distress wash to the floor and a piece of bobbly wool to the top.

Brainiack Design Moment

Hello.  Welcome.  A bit grey and wet here today so getting a few projects finished.  Had a hunt through a scrap bag and pulled out all the bits of white card that were big enough to do something with.  Even managed to commit a few scraps to the bin as too small/too scraggly or WFT did you save that for.  But the urge to throw stuff away always passes too quickly.......  Luckily the largest white scrap was big enough to stamp this Christmas themed girl from Unity's Conspiracy of Love set.

I decided this ornament theme patterned paper went well with one girl and her christmas tree.  She comes with a bit of background snow and ground and also a star hanging off the christmas tree.  In the interests of fussy cutting simplicity I just cut her out and was going to restamp to get the details.  Then I had an idea!  Do you ever have an idea and then wonder what you were thinking of??  I decided to line the tree up so it looked like one of the background ornaments was hanging off the tip, and then fussy cut the same ornament from another piece of the paper and put it in front of that oval frame I used.  And in my infinite wisdom I decided the red deer would be a wonderful dangle to use.  Well, yes, very cute, but really, fussy cut nightmare!!!  But very cute, eh??  A detail that is hardly noticeable, but the designer thought it worth the effort.  Just this once!!

So, raspberry card base.  Patterned paper layer cut with Stamplorations Double Stitch Rectangle die.  Oval frame cut from scrap of white card using Sizzix dies.  White ground cut from scrap of white card using Stamplorations Snowy Stitch Landscape die and embossed with Cuttlebug Snowflake folder.  Unity girl stamped and embossed on scrap of white card, coloured with Promarkers and a liitle bit of glitter glue on her hat and fussy cut.  Done!!

Simple Birthday Wishes

Hello Nomad Friends.  Here we are, bathed in sunshine.  Keep your cool on and don't forget to get a drink with an umbrella in it LOL.  I have made a CAS birthday card using the cute Wolf stamp from PaperDolls Riding Hood set and a repurposed chipboard bauble.

So, I'm looking at this CratePaper Christmas chipboard set and wondering why there were a load of balloons in it.  Wolf said 'don't look a gift balloon in the mouth' so we didn't.  Shortly thereafter my overheated brain realised that these 'balloons' were baubles!!!   Ah well, Wolf loves it.

I used Stamplorations Bubble Dance stencil and Salty Ocean distress oxide ink in the card corner.  I stamped and embossed the Happy Birthday, also Stamplorations, on the chipboard balloon.  I stamped the PaperDoll's Wolf with black archival ink, fussy cut and coloured with Dusky Rose and Cornflower Promarkers.

Right, I'm off to enjoy the sunshine.  Have a wonderful day and thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Sleepyhead Bunnyslippers

Hello Nomad fans.  It's time for a new Christmas Kickstart Challenge and I'm guest elfing this month.  Gosh, part time elf.  But I do love the hat!

This fortnight the delightful Jo has chosen Frosty and Friends and we want to see snowmen.  I have a soft spot for a cute snowman and I recently got my sparkly mitts on TH's Snowman Scene dies.

Yes, he looks a bit surprised to be whisked away from his winter wonderland and find himself hanging in a christmas bauble.  I am sure he'll get used to it.  This was a fab die for using up the scraps of white and I also used a few silver scraps to jazz up the Sizzix bauble diecut.  Kort og Godt card base, some pale blue with copper foil accents designer paper and of course, wool with snowballs on to hang it all up.  The lovely scripty Merry Christmas is a Mark Finest Papers stamp.

Squuueee, love the hat.  I get to wear this all month!!  It looks great about town.

Link up your snowperson makes for a chance to get a cool badge and there is also a prize on offer in the fabulous Rudolf Random Raffle.
