Easter Bonnet

Hello Nomad friends.   This card was inspired by the Boblende kreativitet's moodboard and then it went a little bit strange.

I started with a white hammered card base and smeared with mowed lawn distress ink then added a sheet of green paper embossed with a gemini embossing folder.  I smeared the embossed detail with pine needle distress ink to make it pop.  I cut the rosette using sizzix paper rosette die and some small strips of red card.  Then I added some blue scalloped circles and for some reason then I grabbed my missees Betty dies and went with blue hair.  I have always fancied blue hair!!!   Looks like her easter bonnet is exuberant!!

Merry Christmas with Hart

Hello Nomad friends.  Trying a bit of white on white today.  Quite pleased with how this came out.   I used a gemini modern hearts embossing folder on the background panel to give some texture and lots of sizzix dies and sentiment from Papirdesigns.

I am so not ready for Christmas but this was a fun card to make and I do have cookie dough ready.....

Deer Tag Card

Hello Nomad friends.  Me again with another tag card, this one featuring this beautiful Gemini deer die cut.  I cut the deer in dark blue and layered it on some pale blue semi-translucent paper.  I cut in a tag shape and mounted on a white card base that I trimmed to match the card shape.

I used a preprinted foiled sentiment with a couple of tiny sparkly brads and cut a stitched fishtail banner which I folded over the top of the card and added a blue star brad.

Love this.  Pretty but the die makes it a quick make.

Get Well Butterfly

Hello Nomad friends.  I woke up early today.  05.15!!!  Not sure it rates as a time to get up, but I decided to give it a go.  Since I was the only one moving around I wanted to keep quiet but do something, so I went into my craft room and started moving things around on my desk.  I have a bazillion things on my desk and a few of them really grabbed Mr Mojo's attention, which was pretty phenomenal bearing in mind the early hour.........

I found this green embossed green inked panel, and also just the butterfly embossed on a scrap of white card which I had also inked with green, so I decided my original plan had been for them to be a thing.  I fussy cut the butterfly and stuck it onto the embossed panel then added some wonky layers for an interesting frame effect.  I stamped Get Well Soon sentiment from Rubber Dance Stamps on a green scrap and added a white scrap mat.  The embossing folder is Gemini 3D Butterfly Effect.  A satisfying start to the day!!

Space Food

Hello Nomad friends.  It's been a busy and productive day.  I used NBUS.  I used scraps.  I finished up the last bits of glue in three glue tubes and binned em!   The desk is looking better.  I put stuff away as I finished with it.  I am building good habits.  And Mr Mojo was humming along nicely.  A good day.

Gotta share these ATC's.  Are you smiling yet???

This little spaceman is from Gemini To The Moon stamp/die set.  He comes with a matching die but I don't like the white border so I fussy cut him x3.  The moon stamp is also from the same set.  I made the backgrounds by splatting green and blue Aztec pearlescent paint on yellow card.  I cut my ATC's and edged with orange ink.  I had cleaned my brush along one side of the yellow card and decided it would make a fab moon!  Perfect!!!  Stamped and fussy cut x3.  I decided we needed more stars so picked three from the Gemini set and stamped em all over with dandelion archival ink.  Seems aztec paint is self masking!  Aren't they adorable!  They make me happy.

Anyone For Grasshoppers

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 10th of the month so time for the new challenge at Let's Squash It!  This month we have come up with a fun three part recipe and called it Grasshopper Green!  We want you to use lots of green, include an insect and of course use an embossing folder.  Any embossing folder along with your insect and green and you are good to go.  We have lovely inspiration from Jo and our wonderful guest so do hop over and check it out and join the fun.  I used Gemini 3D Butterfly Effect embossing folder.

These 3D folders are quite fat and I found leaving one of the cutting plates out from my Bigshot sandwich worked perfectly.  I used a piece of designer paper from Kort og Godt that has a fine green grid printed on it.  I smeared my folder with green distress ink before embossing and gave it a gentle spritz with water after to soften the colour a little.  I decided that when your embossing folder is as pretty as this one then it doesn't need much more, so I just added a Stamplorations die cut thanks using some blue and coral card I had on my desk from last night and mounted the panel on a green base card.

Thanks for dropping by.  You have until the end of the month to join the fun at Let's Squash It! and Jo and I will be back with more inspiration later in the month.  I might even try and find a grasshopper LOL.  Hugz.

Hope Springs Eternal

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 10th of the month and time for a new, fun and sightly soggy challenge over at Let's Squash It!  This month we want you to use a nature themed embossing folder and water colouring.

The folder can be anything as long as it includes something from nature, so birds, butterflies, trees, flowers, fish, shells etc etc etc......   And we want you to use water with your colouring medium.  So make sure you spritz, spray, slash and splosh your colours around.

I used Geminin 3D Butterfly Effect and went grey and grungy

I started by drawing in some of the texture of the embossing folder with my Tripaint colour sticks.  Bought these years ago at a cheap shop in Weston Super Mare.  Then I spritzed with water and embossed some pale grey card.

Quite pleased with that.  Touched up some of the areas by picking colour off the Tripaint sticks with my waterbrush.

I super diluted a tiny tiny amount of black Brusho powder in water and applied it as a wash to the rest of the card.

I used a Sizzix Movers and Shakers Hope die to cut the sentiment.  I distressed the card edges and bled in some grey Promarker and mounted on a dark grey card base.  Butterflies always lift the spirit as the first harbingers of Spring and I always see them as a sign of hope.

Grab your folders and watercolours and get sploshy and squishy with us this month.  See you there.  Hugz

Butterfly Effect

Hello Nomad friends.  It's time for the fourth challenge over at Let's Squash It!  This month we want you to use any embossing folder and an animal.  Check the post for all the details, da roolz (updated 9th Jan) and more inspiration from my crafty buddy Jo.  Here's my card using Gemini Butterfly Effect embossing folder.

Rather pleased with this.  The folder comes with a matching stencil.  This is the first time I've used it.  These 3D folders are quite fat and I found leaving one of the cutting plates out from my Bigshot sandwich worked perfectly.

I used the stencil and distress inks and stencilled the butterfly and the dot matrix on a card panel.

I embossed with the folder and smeared the embossed texture with Iced Spruce distress ink.  Then I cut the panel using Stamplorations Crazy Double Stitch Rectangle die.

I mounted the stencilled, embossed panel on a dark grey card base.  I cut a piece of the same dark grey card with Stamplorations Aloha word die and then used the stitch rectangle die to cut the chevrons.

Grab you embossing folders and join the fun.  Don't forget to include an animal on your card.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz
