Travel Bottleneck

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm back!!!  OK, so this has been taking up a significant piece of my crafty time the last day or so.  It should have been quicker, but I did it my way............slow......   I made a tag album inspired by Megan Quinlan's tutorial on day 8 of the 2023 Fodder Challenge.  You will only be able to access that link if you signed up, which was free.  Not sure if you still can, but worth a try.

Megan made an awesomely quick and easy album using tags.  I used Studio Light papers and ephemera for this one.  Get ready for lots of pictures......

Front cover

Page 1 - Made a pocket behind the pic and added a little tag so you know it's there.
Page 2 - photo frame.
There is a pocket between each page.  That's the tag in the pocket on the RHS

Page 3 and 4 both have a pocket.  The two hot air balloons are removable, and another tag sticking out the RHS of the hidden pocket

Page 5, just a picture LOL.   Page 6 another pocket with a tag and that one on the RHS again!!

Page 7 a picture.  Check out da wabbit!!  Page 8 a photo frame.

The end!!

This took time.  I love it.  I want to make more.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Tiny Book of You

Hello.  Welcome.  I had a plan to join the PaperArtsy challenges this term, but it's Sunday afternoon and it's Books, which ain't really something I do.  But this week something happened and I decided I would try and make a Little Book.  That's what I call those books you fold from a single piece of A4 paper.  I have made a couple in the past and I always give them away.  So today I thought I'd make one of those, but go tiny!!

OK, so here's my finished folded book.  Yep, tiny!!  It's 3 x 4.5cm.  Now, for such a small thing there are a lot of photos!  I'll try not to talk too much.

I used a piece of handmade paper and texture paste through a Stamplorations stencil inspired by the stenciling and round forms Anneke used in her art journal.  I folded once horizontally and twice vertically and then cut along the middle line, folded and glued to give the above little book.  Then I decorated it for friend.

All stamps are from Rubber Dance Just A Note set, stamped and embossed with black powder on paper coloured with red brusho and ripped to show the white edge.  Then I added pale blue die cut Memory Box Tiny Bubbles.   I ripped the heart from the same paper and added a faux stitch edge.  This book is a reflection on things broken and I haven't made it to or expect it to last forever.  All things are transitory and some things are best experienced and discarded.  But sometimes it's nice to know somebody noticed and cared.

En Liten Hilsen Mini Book

Hello.  Welcome.  Hei og velkommen. See, it's not that difficult is it??  It's my design team premier over at Rubber Dance Scandanavian blog today so get yourself over there and leave me some love and support.  What do you mean you don't speak Norwegian??  I'm not taking that as an excuse.  Just whip out your google translate.  Although between you and me, he does have some funny ideas when translating Norwegian, so let's just hope my Norwegian is better than his translation LOL.  As a last resort I have published the pictures in your own language, so you can have a look at least.  There's lots of lovely pictures.  Here's a peek

Also check out the new stamp release at the Rubber Dance blog.  There are winners on both blogs as well for those who have already been commenting.  It's definitely the place to be so hop over and leave lots of lovely comments in whatever language floats your boat.  Hope to see you there.  Hugz

Short Book, Long Post

Hello.  Welcome.  Happy Friday the 13th.  Hope it's been a good one for you.  A special Hi and Hello to Jane and Lizzy.  So glad to have you along.  Gosh, at this rate I'll hit a 100 followers for my birthday!!  Won't that be something to celebrate?!  Hugz all round

OK, I have lots of pictures to share so I won't waffle too much.  There seems to be a thing for mini-books/albums at the moment.  I haven't done many of these and I saw this easy tutorial by Dawn over at The Craft Barn.  Since mini-album is their challenge this week I thought I'd give it a go.   Incidentally, Danie May made a lovely ATC book with a similar technique.  Definitely worth a look.

I started with a piece of paper.  I knew I was going to go all hearts and love so I started pink.

I added scraps of stamped tissue and a pretty napkin

I white washed to bring it all together

I added black and a hint of red acrylic, smears and lines.  I also stamped a Pink Paislee flower with a heart in the middle using rose paint.  Then I trimmed the edges.  Using my scor-pal I scored as directed in Dawn's Tutorial

Ta Dah.....  My folded mini-book.  Then I decorated.

Welcome to my Little Book Of Love

Front cover - Cheery Lynn Design (CLD) Love You More cut from red foil.  Unity Stamp Co. Nancy Girl, watercoloured.  The letters were cut from a sheet of Prima patterned paper.

Pages 1/2, CLD Rum Punch Tiny Doily, cut from pink and white patterned paper.  Unity Beach Girl, coloured with sharpies.  The two sentiments are from the Beach Girl stamp set.

Page 3/4 I stamped Unity Beautiful Soul directly onto the pages.  The sentiment wasn't very clear so I quickly grabbed the clear embossing powder.  It's better, but I should have stamped it onto tissue, or paper.  I have added some watercolouring to the main image.  I cut CLD Mini Dimensional Butterflies from pink patterned paper and also added a Wink of Stella Clear to them.

Page 5/6 CLD Southern Charm Valance cut in white and tinted with distress inks.  Unity Harmony Girl and her sentiment.  The birds are from Unity Love Life set.  I added a red heart to their breasts and some crystal glaze

The back cover.  CLD Dreamcatcher #2.  The girl is fom Unity Love Life set, with a hint of watercoloured pink.   Maybe I should have used pink for the net and dreams but I was thinking catching a bit of sunshine is a great idea.

Thanks for your visit.  Give this a go.  It's fun.  Hugz
