Round and Round the Bunny

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy Easter.  Hope there was chocolate.  Geometric shapes make me happy.  I have a little box full of circles scraps from cutting apertures or to gut layers.  The other day I sorted them into colours.  Plenty blue circles, so I decided to play with layers, and then it ended up like this.....

Another bold and bright die cut card.  The bunny and chick are sizzix dies and I found a pink circle for the sun which I embossed with Simon Says Stamp Starburst embossing folder and inked with worn Lipstick distress ink.  The bunny and chick are also cut from scraps.

The Flying Club

Hello Nomad friends.  I am over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity with a final bit of inspiration for the Let's Fly challenge.  I decided to work in my long neglected art journal with a plethora of stamps.

I started with Lost Coast Designs Flying Pig as an ATC and Carmen's Veranda Art Wings To Fly sentiment.  The pig was stamped, coloured and fussy cut and I glittered the wings.  One ATC seemed lonely so I stamped Lost Coast Designs Gnome Witch On A Broom on a piece of white card, watercoloured with distress inks and cut with an ATC die.  Lost Coast Designs Dictionary Words on cork, embossed with black embossing powder and I found some more cork embellishments to finish the page. I used Carmen's Veranda Bullseye on a piece of offwhite card and ripped the edges.  Then I fingerpainted with Worn Lipstick distress ink to add some patches of colour. I stamped Lost Coast Designs Flagstone Background on a scrap of patterned card and stamped Whimsical Flora directly on top and selectively coloured for a stained glass look.  For the journal page I used bubble wrap to stamp the colour with a few different distress ink.  Then I stamped a border with Lost Coast Designs Dominos Border.

I hope you like my art journal page.

Cat Waffle

Hello Nomad friends.  I love cats.  I always think of them as a female accessory.  I know there are blokes who like cats, but even in blue this feels feminine to me.

The stamp is Waffle Flower.  The frame is cut with an ATC die and embossed with a sizzix folder.  The sentiment is birthday happy.

Everything You Need Except Vitamin C

Hello Nomad friends.  Well, I'm off to a brisk start this morning which is highly unusual for me!!   Even the hens fell off their perch when the breakfast bell rang early.   It's a bit of a wet and grey Maundy Thursday so now my little darlings are all fed and watered I will be making my self cosy in my crafty space.  But first a little decoupage......

The egg with flowers is printed so I just needed to clippy clippy.  I added the mini magnolia bunny suit girl cos she was lurking with intent.  I was aiming for damson with my card base and added two panels cut with an ATC die.  I diecut some diamonds into the top one and added fussy cut butterflies and rhinestones to both.

Dimension shot.  The egg is actually flat!!   Wish I could colour like that........
Little bunny girl is perched on the first layer.

Tree Tree Tree

Hello Nomad friends.  Look trees!!!

I've used overpriced technology from sizzix for the trees, which were all cut out of patterned paper scraps and then smeared with mowed lawn distress.  I used a real ancient lilac pearlescent aperture card and a piece of patterned glitter card I bought in the UK in February.  It's really gorgeous in the real.  Then I added the God Jul (Merry Christmas) die cut sentiment.

Did you see Rudolph Days have got their own blog now.  Join the fun from the 25th to the last day of every month.

It's Penguining To Look A Lot Like Cake Time

Hello Nomad friends.  Lots of Easter fun going on with some of the Norwegian groups and one of them wants a birthday card with an non-traditional birthday stamp.  So I decided to go with penguins, like you do.  Everyone loves penguins!   Why relegate them to Christmas!!   Especially when they have cake and chocolate tea!!!!!

I cut my card base from a piece of fancy edge bazzill.  I decided the large scallops were fun and added a mid green layer.  Then I embossed a piece of cream card with Darice birthday embossing folder and liberally smeared with Twisted Citron distress ink.  I cut an ATC, dusted with emerald and lime green brusho powder and spritzed with water.  When it was dry I embossed it with the same folder, added the magical birthday stamped panel and that cute penguin, stamped, coloured and fussy cut.  I added the atc to the centre of the card and a couple of stamped, coloured and fussy cut Poppystamp Love Note penguins as additional support at the bottom.

Open sesame!!!  Why sesame???  Anyway, I digress.........
Inside we have a pocket made with an offcut of the bazzill scallop edge card, more Poppystamp penguins and the guy in the middle is fetching the cake!!!   I grounded the penguins on some grass die cut from some green card with gold paint splatts.  The penguins are coloured with Promarkers.  The tea is chocolate and very tasty............

Cupcakes, Coffee and Bunny Slippers

Hello Nomad friends.  I saw today that Pink and Main are celebrating 10 years.  Congrats Pink and Main.  I like Pink and Main.  Their images are cute.  So I had a rattle through my Pink and Main stamps and found this bunny slippered coffee drinking fan.

I mounted some fun polka dot paper on a slimline card base and added some super size cupcake ribbon.   Then I stamped and coloured the image and die cut it with a stitch circle die.

Soaring Feline

Hello Nomad friends.  We have a cat.  She loves high places.  She has got herself in trouble in high places!   Luckily there is the whole 9 lives thing.  I am sure she is missing a few of her 9!   I was wondering today if cats like to jump trying to catch birds just for the hunt, or is there something with that whole weightless, almost flying feeling.

Soar
with your heart full of
moonlight
and your soul full of
stars

I've used Funky Fossil Deco Luxe designer paper for the panel layered on gold glitter card.  I stamped the cat from Feline Magic on another one of the Deco Luxe papers, using the gold and grey marbling of the paper to highlight the cat image, then added some metallic sharpie colour before fussy cutting.  I stamped the sentiment from the Midnight Feather stamp set and added some MFT die cut gold mirror card stars.

Hope you are feeling creative today.  I am, and that's not been common recently, so maybe I'll be back again soon.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Dazzling Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  Next time you are passing by drop in and see this one in the real cos my camera had challenges!!!   I've used some more of that pile of green patterned paper scraps I dug out the other day and cut some hexagons using a small die.  Then I arranged them down the centre of a green/copper foil panel.

I found some yellow glittered foam and cut with a snowflake die.  Maybe I should have gone with the lime green??  But the foam cut really well with the die and I love the dimension it gives.

Riverside Beauty

Hello Nomad friends.  A bit of a grey day here today so I decided to brighten myself up with some lovely spring colours.  I am offering this as inspiration for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Let's Fly challenge.  Plenty of winged things here.

I've used Lost Coast Designs lovely Kingfisher stamp with Flagstone Background and Thinking of You sentiment.  I partially cut the panel I stamped the Kingfisher image on and did some tone on tone stamping on my yellow base card.  I water coloured the image using distress inks.

You have until 23.59 PST on the 31st to join the Let's Fly fun and don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so do pop over and see what they are doing.

Santa Seminar: The Importance Of Snow

Hello Nomad friends.  It's time for a Santa Seminar!!!   I'm playing with sizzix papercut santa and today he is expounding the virtues of snow.   If you want to see more santa wisdom click on the Santa Seminar label for previous posts where Santa has stolen the podium.

In honour of the day he's gone green and scrappy with snowflakes.

I investigated scrap mountain and dug out a goodly selection of green patterned paper scraps.

I pieced together a scrappy background and then embossed it with Simon Says Stamp Faceted Snowflakes embossing folder.  I trimmed it and added it to a white card base.  I found a strip in the scrap pile that had almost the whole Merry Christmas printed on it and added it to the base of the card.  Santa is die cut from various patterned green pieces and scraps of white, black and gold.   I used a green foil scrap and a sizzix die to cut the snowflake Santa is holding up.  Jolly Ho Ho Ho.

The Birds Say It's Spring

Hello Nomad friends.   I am feeling the Spring.  Maybe being too hopeful but where there's hope......  I've gone all green and avian with my inspiration for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity challenge where we are saying LET'S FLY!!  I am already seeing birds carrying sticks and carrying on!!

I've used Lost Coast Designs MRaven1, Grunge Border 2" and Travel Quotes stamps.

I split the Grunge Border and stamped the two pieces above each other using a variety of Distress inks.  Then I smeared Twisted Citron randomly to fill in some of the white spaces.

I stamped and black embossed the Raven and added some distress marker colour.  I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white card and squiffy cut it.

'Try everything once
then try it again
Somewhere else
'

More signs of spring!!  This is Beardy with her chick Holly, who hatched 3 days ago.  Only one, but what a proud mum!!!!!

Bunny Beautiful

Hello Nomad friends.  Me again.  It's bunny season!!!!   Well, a few scraps and I spotted this Papirdesign bunny die and it all seemed to come together, which is nice because I haven't had my all together for what feels like a long time!

I have a new box on my desk with panels in it and I found this lovely brown one embossed with clocks.  I also spotted this green orange corrugated bit with a wavy aperture and this pretty butterfly and flower scrap, which fitted perfectly after I cut a smidgeon off.  The fishtail banners were printed on a little bit of a scrap of patterned paper and I cut the bunny out of a bit of pizza box.  Gotta love a nice pizza box!!

Hello Hello Hello

Hello Nomad friends.   Did you miss me??  I got lurgied!!   Twice!!!!!   Feeling much more ooman today.  Here's something to brighten our day.

I recently acquired a few sizzix animal die sets.  They seem to have quite a lot of these at the moment and certain animals caught my eye.  This fun bun looks so proud and love those huge ears.  I paired it with a Papirdesign sun die and went yellow.

Hope you are all keeping well.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Viking In The Fjords

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the second of the month and time for the Card Chain Challenge Reveal with a new product and a new addiction for me LOL.   I am a big Waffle Flower fan, right back to their beginnings when their quirky and unique designs caught my eye.  Now unless you are living under a rock you have probably seen the postage collage die being use all over the place and that's Waffle Flower and well done them for coming up with such a hot item.  Always lovely to see the little companies getting big support.  I am lusting after the postage collage series, which is difficult to source this side of the pond and going like hotcakes, but perusing their other products the layered stencils caught my eye.  Particularly the scenes. So I took the plunge and paid really money (as opposed to waiting for a sale) for a few of their products including Moon Bay layered stencil set.  This is my first attempt and I judged it good enough to use on this card.  Love it.  Had to consult with my muse (Jo) for what to do, because quite honestly it's so pretty with nothing else, and how could I have missed the fjord opportunities???????.........  Remedied the problem by pulling out MFT's I Vike You set.  I have since found other Viking stamps so stay tunaed.......

Here's the card I sent to Arlene in California

I think the sky is more blue and less moody in the real but I was having trouble with my colour levels.  My viking kept going green! so you will just have to extrapolate.  I followed the sketch, which required a skewed panel, and I could have done that differently so the horizon was more horizont, but it's too late once the glue is dry isn't it.  I also used the colour options, with a few additions and stencils, friendship and men in hats.  OK, men in hats wasn't an option, but maybe it should be!!!!   A few MFT sentiments and baby dragon, cos every viking had a dragon you know and a few die cut birds to finish.

You can check out all the amazing cards that wizzed around the planet in February HERE
