Onward and Upward and 2 Chances to Win

Hello Nomad friends.  The end of  2020 is looming.  Let's hope all the crap gets left behind.  I have made a New Year card in shades of blue using Lost Coast Designs stamps.  I think this gnome is my favourite of the bunch!  If you haven't checked out the Lost Coast Designs Gnomes then hop over, cos they are so cute and awesome, and Linda is still offering 25% off your order!!!  What a way to start the new year with some of these dudes dropping through your letter box.

I used Lost Coast Designs Tall Trees Background, Profile Gnome, the sun from Sun and Moon and Misc. Words for the sentiment.   I stamped the Tall Trees background and sentiment using blue dye ink and the sun using black archival onto my card base.  I stamped the gnome on a scrap of white card, fussy cut and coloured with Promarkers.  I stamped the sun on a scrap of yellow card, fussy cut and added it to the card.  Some iridescent glitter glue in the tree tops and done!!

Would you like a chance to win a $10 of Lost Coast Designs stamps???

Lost Coast Designs have their Winter Blues challenge running until 31st December 23.59PST.  So if the New Year party looses it's fizz then grab your stamps and join the fun.

Virtual Scrap - Day 3

Hello Nomad friends.  The final few hours of the virtual scrap are upon me and I am really pleased with the projects I have made.  The challenges have been fun and inspiring and, despite hoping to join in with them all, I have not compromised quality for quantity.   But as I say, still a few hours to go so maybe........   I'm back to Christmas again.......

We made some of these cute little tea/giftcard holders yesterday as part of a quick challenge.  They are really quick and easy and fun.  I made two yesterday and thought I'd make another one today with a winter theme.  The paper is very old Imaginisce and the snowman is Marianne Designs.  He's just sitting in there.  You can pull him out and play with him, or write on him.  I thought he made a cute tag!

I didn't have any cocoa sachets, so for illustration purposes I added a tea bag.  You can add some more on the inside and I added a extra little decorative bar with printed circles from another piece of Imaginisce designer paper.  Think this will bring joy, and the one at the far end is a cocoa filled cup.

And last but by no means least, this cute Kort og Godt dog, this time the Christmas with antlers version.  Awesomely cute!!  I stamped the dog with black archival, masked and then stamped the snowflakes and sentiment with blue archival.  I added a little distress marker colour to the dog and done.  Next years Christmas card?????   Maybe.....

Virtual Scrap - Day 2 Continued

Hello Nomad friends.  I signed up for a virtual scrap and me and Mr Mojo are having a blast!!  I played with a few things this evening and hopefully they will become finished things tomorrow.  I did get this fun and cool coffee cup shaped card finished.

I've used very old Making Memories Poinsettia Flocked Mistletoe paper.  The flowers are furry!!!!   I used the dimensions given on the challenge post and cut a irregular quadrilateral card base, covered it with the poinsettia paper and then cut some white pieces for the 'lid'.  I added a piece of gold glitter paper and a piece of red to the middle of the card.  I used Kort og Godt stamps for the two sentiments.

Virtual Scrap - Day 2

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy Birthday Sister me!!!  The camera battery just died so this seemed a serendipitous time to grab a cup of tea and share the afternoon makes inspired by Korthobby's Virtual Scrap meet.  And some bunny pictures!!!!  Mighty Miracle was late opening her eyes, but I just caught her wobbling around outside her box for the first time.  Snapped a couple of pictures just before the camera gave up....

How cute is that!!!!

I'm at a virtual scrap meet and this is the second day.  Made a few project this afternoon....

CHALLENGE 16 - LAVINIA INSPIRATION

Berit made a lovely scene using Lavinia stamps and we need to be inspired. Lavinia - I always think silhouette and cute animals, and since it wasn't required to use Lavinia stamps, I went with a new die cut with some cute bunnies and a tree.

I made a simple smoosh background with distress ink and cut with Gummiapan Stitched Square die.  I used Sizzix letter dies to cut the word JOY, added the smooshed panel to a card green card base and pieced the letters back in for a subtle look.  I cut Sizzix Bunny Scene from very dark green card and glued it down.

CHALLENGE 6 - MIXED MEDIA

There was a video link to a quick mixed media tag.
Here's my version using Rubber Dance stamps and a Stamplorations stencil.

I used distress ink sprays and Colourcraft Aztec paint splats.  I stencilled the birds using distress ink and Stamplorations Some Birds stencil.  I used stamps from Rubber Dance Crazy Flowers #2 and Think Again with black archival ink.  I added some white gel pen highlights to the big flower.

CHALLENGE 4 - OLD BECOMES NEW

This one is sadly right on target for my stash!!!  Use a patterned paper that is at least 5 years old.  I found some Basic Grey Nook and Pantry sheets.  2009!!   Rocking this challenge ROFL.

I cut the tag from the paper using Stamplorations large stitch tag die.  The polka dot bit at the bottom is cut from the reverse of this sheet that was covered in pretty borders.  I cut Poppystamps Bonney Stem, embossed it using the die and then also used the die as a stencil and added distress ink colour with a stencil brush.  A printed birthday greeting and some funky wool and done......

Virtual Scrap - Day 1

Hello Nomad friends.  Mr Mojo is hibernating so I decided to sign up for a virtual scrap and see if he woke up.   In exchange for a modest sum I have access to a private fb group and 16 bold challenges.  Yep, 16!!   I call em bold cos they are creative and challenging, which is just what Mr Mojo needed.  My desk has not recovered from Halloween, let alone Christmas, so I will be incorporating scraps and UFO's in an attempt to craft my way out of my mess.  In order to save reading I'm gonna keep adding to this post today, if I get anything made to add LOL.  I'd love to do a project for them all, but being a slow crafter, and only having 3 days, that would be a tall order.  So here we go..........  No particular order.  Just what grabs me first.......

CHALLENGE 8 - RECYCLE
Use something that was going to be thrown away.

Squeeeeeeeeeee!  First outing for this adorable dog from Kort og Godt.  I found a scrap of beige patterned card and stamped the dog on it.  I coloured with Promarkers and glitter glue and fussy cut.  My recycled item is that book spine the dog is resting on.  A Kort og Godt stripey card base and Merry Christmas stamped on another bit of the brown patterned scrap at the bottom.

Rubbish remade!  Glad I saved that from the recycling bag!

CHALLENGE 14 - DIE CUT BONANZA
Use at least 5 die cuts (wasn't sure if this was 5 cuts, or 5 dies, so I went with 6 different dies LOL)

I made a pocket tag with a hidden tag.

I used Poppystamps Pickering Snowflake Background and Snowflake Oval Collage (for the little glitter snowflakes), Stamplorations Luggage and Stitch Tag dies, Papirdesigns Vipps die and Winnie and Walter Pierced Circle die for the pocket aperture.  Vipps is a phone app here where you can send money to other people.  Better than the cheque is in the post........

Deer Tag

Hello Nomad friends.  Love this Playful Deer die from Poppystamps and it made a cute tag.

I used some navy card for my tag, cut a matching layer of gold card with Poppystamps Playful Deer die.  From the same navy card I cut a stitch oval and added a die cut joy which I covered with gold glitter.  I used some ripped cotton for the tie and added a metal embellishment and a yellow rhinestone.

Bird Talk

Hello Nomad friends.  I've been playing with some Crafty Individuals stamps I got recently.  This wasn't where I thought I was going but the end result is pleasing.

I used a patterned card base, slightly grungy with some soft circles.  I stamped the three stamps from Crafty Individuals Mismesh set using three different archival ink colours.  I stamped Crafty Individuals Robin Redbreast on white card with black archival and fussy cut.  I added a little colour to his legs and beak.

Under the Mistletoe

Hello Nomad friends.  Made a couple of 10x10cm cards using Gummiapan Postage Stamp die cut.  Set the die just off the edge of the card fold and cut to get a card with ribbles all around.  Despite the holes up the hinge it seems quite stable and looks better than having one straight edge me thinks.  The slightly narrower ins and outs is almost un-noticiable!

I folded some red card and used the postage style dies to cut my base cards.  Then I used one of the flower stamps from Marianne Design COL 1303 and stamped in each of the corners using black archival.  I stamped one of the other flowers from the same set on Marianne Design Woodland Christmas patterned paper and cut them with matching dies.  Then I used a white gel pen to add some detail to the flowers.

I stamped the dog and cat from Marianne designs HT1607 on white card, added a little red and fussy cut.  I cut some more of the Woodland Christmas paper using a 8cm postage style die and added it, the flowers and the dog/cat to the cards.  I cut a little polka dot ribbon and used Marianne Design green stars to finish.

Hello Nomad friends.  What can I say??  I love blue!!!  And bunnies.....and embossing folders!!!!  Mix em all together and ta dah.....

A reminder for the current Let's Squash It! challenge where the theme is any Embossing folder and die/fussy cutting.  I embossed a panel of blue card with Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder and smeared some Salty Ocean distress ink over the embossed areas.  The diamond is a blue die cut scrap sponged with silver paint.  I stamped and heat embossed Uniko's Bunny, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  I used some scraps of pale blue and white glitter card and a santa hat die for his hat.  The hohoho is a stamped scrap.

Green Snow

Hello Nomad friends.  Taking a break from the blues with a green and red christmas card featuring Carmen's Veranda Monkey with a Banjo.  Hey! maybe we are still with the blues!  You play it, I'll sing it!!  That will be enough to get the baby crying LOL........

I've used Carmen's Veranda Monkey with a Banjo and Lost Coast Designs Small Snowflakes and Misc. Words stamps and Do-Crafts Candy Cane embossing folder.  Monkey was coloured with Promarkers and I also used a stitch rectangular die to cut the panel.

Royal Blue

Hello Nomad friends.  I love blue.  'Nuff said.

I used Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder to emboss the base card and the dark blue oval.  The fancy frame is Memory Box Palace Oval Frame, and that light blue knobbly oval I cut in two at the bottom is from the same set.  I cut the fancy frame and Memory Box Frosted Christmas tree from silver mirror card.  Both these dies have nice emboss detail which shows well with the mirror card.  I cut some dark blue card using Memory Box Gentle Landdscape Stitched die and the JOY was cut using Sizzix Lindsey Diary embosslits.
