Warm Winter Wishes from Mr Frosty

Hello Nomad friends.  Rolling out Rubber Dance's fun and sweet Mr Frosty stamp today and I've given him a beautiful Aztec paint sunset for a backdrop.  Don't see so many of these at this time of year but a girl is allowed to dream....... Sunsets I mean, not snowmen LOL.

Experimenting with some photo staging.  How'd I do bwahahahahaahaaha.

OK, aztec paint applied with an old credit card and cut with a fancy die.  Mr Frosty stamped, fussy cut with side extensions and coloured with distress markers.  I stamped two sentiments from the Frosty Friends stamp set and edged my snowdrift with black ink.

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to check out the Rubber Dance blog and shop for inspiration and awesome stamps.

Mr Spoon

Hello Nomad friends.  I always fancied being an astronaut.  Or a jet plane pilot.  Or a tree surgeon.  Well, keep your options open I say........  Loving this huge astronaut, that I picked up in a pre-christmas sale at Funky Fossil, and first time trying the floating technique, inspired by the lift challenge.

I made my floating circle with scraps of green and blue glitter paper and a scrap of acetate packaging.  Then I need to pop up my astronaut as well over the black glitter background.  His air hose is a grunge die from Studio Light.

95% Chance of Snow

Hello Nomad friends.  I finally succumbed and bought this sizzix Snowscape colorize die.  This one is so fun and easy to use and I hit the scraps and found this lovely slightly textured purple paper that I have had for a while read very very long time.  I decided to make a snowscape with slightly alternative colours.  If the sky turns shades of purple it's a good indication of snow to come.......

The snowman is also sizzix.  I mounted my die cut pieces on a white textured base card and stamped the tiny text stamp is from Gummiapan.

Starry Starry Night

Hello Nomad friends.  How's it going??   I made a snowy scene card.  That's close enough to snow for my liking.

I've used the lovely Memory Box Country Road Oval and Merry Christmas Noted Script dies cut from a scrap of gold card.  I layered the Country Road Oval with various snippets including a blue metallic sky embossed with Memory Box Grand Galaxy embossing folder.  I used sharpies to colour the trees and also a gold sharpie to colour the lights in the church and the road.

Valentino

Hello Nomad friends.  The snow has stopped.  The rain has begun.  There is a lot of weather this winter.  Time for a splash of red to warm us up.

I made a fancy base card by doing a bit of 1 and 2 inch scoring from both vertical edges. I took a piece of red card and cut the top with Kort og Godt notebook edge die.  First time out of the packet!!  I used a vintage kort og Godt picture for my pretty lady and a sentiment that says my treasure.  The hearts are Studio Light dies.

Paw Prints

Hello Nomad friends.  Sharing a little sparkle this evening inspired by the Poppystamp challenge.

I wanted to try out this unused Poppystamp Arched Deco Plate.  Magnificent die.  Note to self: add adhesive backing before cutting!   All that detail was a little tricky to glue after the fact, but I managed, onto a lovely cream glitter card panel.  I die cut Whittle Cutie Dog, also unused!!, from kraft card and gave him a little bit of colour on his nose.  I added a small scrap of thick card behind his ear to make it stand out a bit.  Then I went hunting for a sentiment and found this beautiful one from Aall&Create, which is also new from the A4 dog stamp set!!  Gotta love a big stamp and using NBUS!

Happy New Pig

Hello Nomad friends.  This could be the fastest conversion of NBUS to US in my life!!  I just got a delivery of Funky Fossil stamps and dies and ooh, these steampunk animals are just adorbs.  So I made a new year card with sparkly fireworks.

Uh, OK, you are looking at the 2025 aren't you and feeling like you hit time warp.  Well, that's all De Egels idea!!  They wanted new new years cards so asked for the 2025 to be visible.  I understand that, and actually it's a cool idea cos now I am ahead of the game!!   There comes a point in the year where you need to give up sending xmas cards and a few New Years span the gap.  I rarely have them ready, but now I do!!!

The background firework paper is a new favourite for me.  I bought some scrapbook kits from Carol Wilson in a sale and the papers are mostly gorgeous.  Cool and unusual designs with some glitter and embossed highlights.  Really pretty.  But New Year needs bling so I ran a bead of glitter glue around the paper panel.   I cut Funky Fossil Pipework Numbers using the dies and stamped, coloured and fussy cut the steampunk pig.  Awesome.

Take a Break

Hello Nomad friends.  I have a little inspiration for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Anything Goes challenge. I was just looking through my stamps and spotted this fun Lost Coast Designs Do Not Disturb Gnome.   It made me think about how hard santa has worked and that he must be sleeping for a month!!!  I expect the elves are all at the beach partying!!   Elves never rest!   It's all the candy!!!!

For the backgound I stamped Lost Coast Designs Large Shrubbery twice with two shades of green ink and a slight vertical offset between the two impressions.  I smudged twisted citron distress ink on a scrap of torn white card and spritzed with some water.  The gnome was stamped, coloured and fussy cut.

Humming Around

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy weekend!!  Using some scraps here for a colourful birthday.  I'm using an old but NBUS set from sizzix and lots of scraps.  I actually bought this set not that long ago in a sale because it's full of fun frames and embellishments, like what it says on the packaging.  I actually wanted to use the coloured corrugated bit for the large scallop, but it was too small.  So I found a bit of textured handmade paper, which was also a tiny bit small, but you just shove the flower over to cover the mm missing.

The hummingbird was cut from a scrap of photo paper that has been coloured with brusho powders. A couple of die cut flowers with a fancy brad and another scrap, cut with another frame from the NBUS die set and stamped with a Rubber Dance sentiment from What a Girl Wants set.  Should use that one more often since we all deserve a magical birthday.  The nibbled arch dies are from Daisy Mae.

Precious Little Things

Hello Nomad friends.  Did you get any crafty goodies for Christmas??  I usually buy and pack them for myself and then tell the lucky 'giver' how happy I am with what they gave me.  At least you get what you need.  It amazes me how few of my friends and family realise that sometimes a particular sentiment is a necessity!!  I included a few of the newer Carmen's Veranda sentiment in my Christmas goodies and I've used one in my inspiration for the current Anything Goes challenge over at The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  This one is Carmen's Veranda Butterfly Reminder sentiment and is just delightful.

Unusual colours for love maybe, but I thought it would make a great new love, or old love renewed card.  I used Lost Coast Designs Concentric Circles Background on black card using white ink.  The quirky little fellow is Lost Coast Designs CDRoly Jester stamped with blue ink on white card and fussy cut.  Then I added the Carmen's Veranda Butterfly Reminder sentiment.

Ho Ho Ho All The Way To Australia

Hello Nomad Friends.  I hope you are keeping warm and toastie.  We've got a cold front moving in from Siberia and the winds are wild.  As the week progresses we are supposed to swap winds for cold temperatures and today, baby, it's cold outside!!!   But at least it's dry.  I really am not a fan of the white stuff.  Anyway, on with the business of the day and it's time for the Card Chain Challenge reveal!!  In December we played Tic Tac Toe.  I was in a B space so I made a grid with 25 'B' words.  I know a few of you found this challenging, but wow, what awesome cards!!   27 in total.  Do hop over and check them out.  I sent my card to Robyn in Australia.

I went seasonal and bloke, black, belt, bubbles, buddy for my options.

Here's the gorgeous card I received from Joanne in Connecticut

Happy New Year 2024

Hello Nomad friends.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  Gosh, 2024, how did that happen!  We celebrated the arrival of the new year with a few friends last night and I couldn't help but think it didn't seem so long since last year.  I hope you had a lovely evening, however and with whomever you chose to spend it.

Well, it's the first of the month, nay even the first of the year, and we are kicking off the fun over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity with an Anything Goes challenge.  There are a few changes to the challenge as well.  We are going monthly, so you will have more time to think, create and join the fun.  We have also updated our rules so do be sure to read them to make sure your entry qualifies for the prize.  I've made a Happy New Year card featuring the awesome Alfred Hitchcock stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

Isn't he grand!!
I definitely need to use him more often!!!

I stamped the Carmen's Veranda Staircase and masked it.  Then I stamped Lost Coast Designs Grunge Border 2", Dream Dictionary Word and Happy New Year with various archival inks to make the background.  I stamped Alfred, added a little promarker colour, fussy cut and added him to the staircase.  I left the white border at the top because it's not something I would usually do and I thought it looked kinda cool.

The Anything Goes challenge is running all month over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and I hope you feel like grabbing some stamps and join the fun.  The team is posting awesome inspiration throughout the month, so do hop over and check out their projects.
