Frog Juice

Hello.  Welcome.  Last evening I was trying to do a few things and get a bit ahead, but ended up with lots of starts, none of which I was totally happy with.  So I decided to go and do nothing instead.  Then, this morning, when I looked at my desk, I though hmmmm, maybe that ain't so bad afterall.........

I'm playing with VLVS stamps and keeping it CAS.  I thought this frog, clutching his bottle of wine, fitted perfectly with the 'Is it wine o'clock yet?' sentiment.  Inside I stamped a partially masked xmas sentiment which now reads 'A merry wish for lots of happiness'.  That seemed perfect.  My man likes wine, so this will work for him.

Frog and sentiment stamped with black archival and coloured with ink joy and neon pens.  Background a weak stripey wash of Pumice Stone and Stormy Sky distress inks.  Frog panel cut using Sizzix TH double stitched rectangle die.

TOP SECRET - Submarine

Hello.  Welcome.  Couldn't resist the header so if you are dropping by from the CIA don't forget to leave a comment so we know you care.  Alternative reality continues and the challenge at The Craft Barn, which the lovely Jane is saying was all my doing, innocent look, strongly influenced this project.

Did you know 95% of the sea is unexplored?  Well, Dog, with his faithful crewmember Frog, is going to change all that............

Yes, it's another 'wots dat den?' project.  I had an image of a dog in a submarine and made this window into the submarine before considering what shape my submarine should be.  But at least I had fun..........

I used Sizzix Ornate Frame dies to cut gold metal and acetate for the window.  The negative cuts from Cheery Lynn Tiny Bubbles die make great rivets.  All the stamps are from VLVS.

OK, get the laughter over with!!!   Frog definitely isn't sure about the safety of the design.....  That's supposed to be a propeller, cut using Sizzix Vintage Fan die, but looks a bit like a tap.........  The background is a piece of patterned vellum.  I used Bo Bunny patterned paper for the submarine and DCWV zig zag paper to back the window.

Dog (and frog) under the sea.   This one is all mine to remind me that it's OK to have fun and it doesn't always have to make sense.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Rana, Rana, Snowangel

Hello.  Welcome.  Tis the season to be crazy.  Crazy busy, crazy weather, crazy crafting.  The last has been sadly lacking but tonight I saw Shanna's post over at Viva Las Vegas and a few things fell into place.  So I grabbed a few stamps, some tape and my fired brick distress stain and came up with this

Do I have your attention now??  Have you stopped laughing??  What's wrong with a frog making snowangels???  I stamped the postage stamp dispenser and embossed with red tinsel embossing powder.  Then I stamped the frog and the sentiment.  All stamps are from Viva Las Vegas.  I coloured with gel pens and added wink of stella round the frog.  He had to have some googly eyes as well...

I used a spellbinders square swatches.die to cut a mask for the center and also to cut the edges of the panel.  I used washi tape to mask for my red stripes.  I used a black and a red pen to outline the central masked area.  It's a little bit crazy but I'm sending it to my brother as a Christmas card.  He likes frogs.  Merry merry everyone.  Hugz

Happy Friday

Hello.  Welcome.  It's sunny, it's warm, it's Friday.  Who could ask for more.  Over at Unity it's also Friends With Flair day.  Here's a little something.  Kinda like something I made previously.  But different in it's own special way.

I made this background at the same time as I made THIS ONE, so look there if you want the step by step.  I stamped Unity Stamp Co There Was a boy onto white tissue paper and coloured him.  If you are doing this technique use white tissue, it keeps the colours clean, and you want the thin stuff without a wax coating.  Then I added a frog from a serviette and the little girl from Unity's First Love set.

Here's the finished framed piece.  I generated the sentiment on the computer and I have also gone along the lines of the frog with a thin black pen to give him more definition and make him look a bit more like a stamp.
