Mug Hugz

Hello Nomad friends.  Bit dreary here today.  I think autumn has a firm grip.  A good day to craft.  Mr Mojo wasn't so keen, but we did manage this with some pink scraps I had spotted in the patterned scraps bin the other day.

The Unity Girl was already stamped on a scrap of pink, I just needed to fussy cut her and add a little salmon pink to the heart.  Sentiment to be added later if required.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Old Bird

Hello Nomad friends.  I made another shaker since the last one was a roaring success.

I used Unity Old Bird stamp and partially fussy cut around the old lady before slipping in an arch die to cut my shaker window.  Using a single piece of foam cut with the same die behind the stamped panel is a winner in my book.  Used Autumn colours on the old lady and found some lovely sequins in autumn shades for the shaker.

Sunflower Belief

Hello Nomad friends.  A lovely warm sunny day today.  Maybe autumn is going to hold off for a while yet.  I decided to use up an ice lolly box today, because it  has lovely kraft colour, and watercolour pencils to add some colour to this lovely Unity sunflower.

The sentiment panel is the stem of the flower from Unity's It's Going To Be Beautiful kotm set.

Friends

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the second of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge Reveal.  32 awesome cardmakers sent cards winging their way around the planet in August.  Mine went to Linda in MI, USA.

I went with the CAS, Sketch and Friendship options this month.  I used a Unity stamp and watercolours.  The sentiment is also Unity.

I don't usually share cards sent to me, because I like people to be able to share their own stuff when it suits them, but Mia has broken her arm and I also wanted to share the beautiful extra's she sent.  Maybe I should change my policy???

Mia made that lovely bow on the bag and I am looking forward to using this bright and bold beauty next time I am out shopping.  She also sent some fancy embellishments and that lovely card that she made after she broke her arm!!  That's dedication.  Thanks so much Mia.  Love it all and the card is awesome. Get well soon.  HUGZ

OK, if you want to check out all the amazing cards that winged their way around the planet you need to go look at the REVEAL

If you want to get into this awesome chain of amazing crafters and send/get happy mail you need to check out the SIGN UP

Winter Warmth

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the final week of August and it's Rudolf Days over at Scrappy Mo's blog.  I've been organising my craft room and moved some Unity stamps.  Well, it isn't long before tidying turns to creating and I just couldn't resist using one of my most favourite Unity girls.

This girl is from Unity's Warmth of Winter kit.  The sentiment is from a different kit.  I went with the BYHSC sketch again cos it's fab.  The background is created with spritzed distress ink on Rubber Dance small ink dots stencil.

May Rudolf Days

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the end of the month again!!  Already??!!  I do like to join Mo's Rudolf Days challenge so I had a rattle through the scraps and stamped images and came up with this cute snowangel snowman by Unity Stamps.

I stamped and embossed with white powder then smudged some blue ink and cut out the circle.  I added a ring of white lace and found a pretty edged scrap of green which I embossed with a confetti embossing folder.  The lovely red tree paper had a hole in it which my topper covered perfectly!  A Lost Coast Designs Happy Christmas stamp and mount on a green card base to finish.

Grungy Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  It's been a long time since my blog has been so empty.  It's been a busy month what with easter, birthdays, gardening and lots and lots of Weather!!  But I do like to join in the Rudolf Days challenge so here I am with a grungy Christmas card using Unity stamps and Infusions powders

I used three stamps from Unity SMAK Winter Wild kit and a unity merry merry merry christmas sentiment that has been lurking on my desk.  Then I hit it with yellow and red infusion powders, spritzed with water and did some brown ink edging/smudges.

Thanks for dropping by.  They have forecast rain tomorrow.  Maybe I will try and get a bit more crafty for the last of the month.  Hugz

Snowflake Coffee

Hello Nomad friends.  A quick one layer card to share with you this evening using Unity stamps.

Isn't she pretty.   I kept it CAS, my favourite style and stamped the girl with Magenta Blue archival ink, masked and stamped the snowflakes with Sky Blue archival ink.  I think coloured stamping makes for a softer look.  I coloured the girl with distress markers.  Done!

Bunny Leftovers

Hello Nomad friends.  Did you see my previous post with the cute puppy??   As I said, I used most of a gel-print background Jo sent me and there I am, looking at the leftovers, and I figure use em, or add em to scrap mountain.  So I used em!!!   Are you proud of me LOL.

I stamped Unity No Bunny on the remains of the gel print background and fussy cut around the stamped frame.  Da bunny didn't show so well so I stamped him again on white card, coloured with distress markers, fussy cut and stuck him on the oval.  Then I backed it with some kraft card and fussy cut that as well.  I used a Kort og Godt patterned card base with the last bits of the gel-plate background and da bunny in the oval.  I used the same kraft card, OK it used to be a pizza box!, to stamp the sentiment on.  Used a die to cut the sentiment pretty and edged with black marker.

Isn't that bunny adorable??  Well, aren't all bunnies adorable!!!

Cute Puppy

Hello Nomad friends.  I don't know where the time goes.   I haven't been getting much crafting in recently.  Mr Mojo has been restless and easily distracted by outdoors stuff, so I grabbed a few things and took them outdoors today to see if I could get some results.  Of course, after a little time had elapsed it decided to rain!   For a little while it felt like April showers, with light rain backlit by sunshine.  Then it had a moment!   Torrential rain with a few background rumbles of thunder thrown in for dramatic effect, and the area I had been sitting in experienced a small flash flood.  No worries, it dissipated rapidly once the rain stopped, but it was quite an exciting 10 minutes.  You are right, I don't get much excitement in my life LOL.  Anyway, I made a card using most of one of the lovely gel-plate backgrounds Jo sent me.  I have really had fun with these Jo and I'm nearly empty JFYI LOL!

Maybe I should have taken a pic of the background before I chopped it up!!  But alas.......
Kort og Godt patterned card base with a square of the gel-plate background and Unity Hailey's Puppy stamped on a die cut oval.  I tried to curve the sentiment to fit the curve of the oval.  How'd I do??

Simply Snow

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 10th of the month and time for the new challenge at Let's Squash It!  This month we want you to keep it Clean and Simple with any embossing folder.  I decided to go Christmas

I used the very lovely Hobby Solutions Let It Snow embossing folder and Just Chillin' stamp from Unity stamps.   I embossed a white card panel with the folder, which is A6 size.  I stamped the snow people on a piece of matching white card and fussy cut the top of the image.  Then I used a Stamplorations Stitched Snowy Hills die to cut the top of the 'snow'.  Since I had a goodly amount of white still below the stamped image I decided to mount on a white DL base for slimline delight.  A little bit of gel pen colour and glitter on the snowmen and done!

Hop over to the Let's Squash It! blog for more CAS inspiration from Jo and our GDT and don't forget to grab your folders and join the fun.

Both Sides Together

Hello Nomad friends.  I hope you are having a lovely sunny day.  It's time for the new challenge at Let's Squash It! and this month we want you to use the emboss and deboss of the same folder on the same card.  Jo has done an awesome Technique Time with explanations, tips and fab ideas, so be sure to check that out.  This was a really fun idea to play with and it gives some lovely results.  Sometimes it's surprizing how different the same emboss and deboss look!!   And my favourite technique of smearing with distress inks makes this technique a really stand out.  Here's my card....

I used one of my favourite flower folders by DoCraft called Cherry Blossom Stripe.

I started by embossing two pieces of card and flipping one over, but I wasn't totally happy with this so I decided to try folding a piece of card and running that through the folder.  Wonderful!  Obviously you need to use a thinnish card, I have 180gms here, otherwise the two layers will be very stressed.  But when you open it up you have the emboss and deboss on the same side of the card, front and back, so double the chance to play!!!  I used Picked Raspberry distress oxide ink to smear my textures. The lines on this folder disguise the center fold a bit and I like the mirror image I got.

I cut the panel to size and added a stamped, fussy cut Unity butterfly and a pre-printed happy birthday sentiment.

Hop over and check out Jo's beautiful card and
join the Let's Squash It! fun.

Dear Coffee.....

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh.  January is galloping!  It's Rudolf Days again!  25th to the end of the month are those important dates, and one of the many challenges that keep me on track for the silly season.
So here's a little coffee cup to make us all cosy.

I found a bit of white card and cut it with Stamplorations Mug die.  Then I embossed it Sizzix ScandiKnit folder.  Then I spotted this little die cut deer that had been snipped out of a bigger diecut piece and I decided he would look perfect on that lovely embossing.  This scrap of green snowflake paper caught my eye and looked perfect on a blue card base.  Then I just needed the perfect sentiment.  This slightly distressed merry Christmas stamp from Unity seemed to fit the bill.

GIU Day 5 Warmth Of Winter

Hello Nomad friends.  Welcome to Day 5 of my GIU posts.  I hope you have enjoyed the cards I have shared this week using Unity Stamps.  Remember you just need to leave a comment on the GIU posts for a chance to win a Unity gift voucher! If you have missed any then do scroll down and comment.  The more comments the better your chance of winning.  I will be drawing my winners, yes two winners, on Monday.  I am finishing today using one of my favourite Angie Girls from KOM December 2014.

I'm still all blue and white, cos I like blue, and it's a great combo for this time of year.  The original plan was to have a lot more colour but this one didn't go quite to plan so I cut it down a bit and this lovely lady insisted on taking advantage of that gorgeous leafy frame.  The leaf border is from KOM January 2019 and the lady from KOM December 2014.

And....... I also went all CAS with her, since she was out.  Like I said, she is a favourite of mine.  I used Night Sky archival to stamp the girl and the sentiment, from KOM October 2019.  Then I smeared the snowflake background from KOM November 2011 with Sky Blue archival.  Smearing instead of patting with the ink pad leaves less ink on your stamp and allowed me to get a super subtle snowfall.

GIU Day 4 Be A Lot

Hello Nomad friends.  It's a snow day!  We've had a sprinkle of the white stuff overnight and today's card also has snow!  This week I am Growing In Unity, sharing makes using Unity Stamps every day this week. You just need to leave a comment on these posts for a chance to win a Unity gift voucher!  If you have been following along you will know I am using stamps from Unity's Kit of The Month sets.    Today we are out in the forest with another awesome Angie Girl.

Slimline and blue and white today.  All my stamping is various blue archival inks.  I stamped the girl from KOM July 2019 with Night Sky archival, which I treated myself to for Christmas and it's my new black!  Love that lovely blue.  I masked the girl and stamped the trees from KOM August 2019 using Sky Blue archival.  I was missing hearts, so I had a hunt and turned up a cute couple in KOM October 2019.  Also got the sentiment from that one.  I just added a little Salty Ocean distress to the two hearts and done.

GIU Day 3 Best Friend Until The End

Hello Nomad friends.  This week I am Growing In Unity, sharing makes using Unity Stamps every day this week. You just need to leave a comment on these posts for a chance to win a Unity gift voucher!   I was a member of the Kit of The Month programme for a few years so I have been using various stamps from these kits.  In addition everything so far seems to be featuring hearts and Angie Girls!!!  Nothing wrong with that, especially at this time of year, but I decided to swap it up a bit today with an Angie Bloke LOL.

The guy comes from KOTM December 2018.  What a cool dude.  The clustered hearts I used on the edge pieces are from KOTM December 2014 and the sentiment from KOTM June 2017.  I went with a favourite colour combo of blue and white.  All stamping with archival inks, water colouring with distress inks.

Hello Nomad friends.  I am so excited to be Growing In Unity this week.  Thanks to Unity Stamps for this awesome opportunity.  Every day this week I will be sharing a card made using Unity stamps and you just need to leave a comment on these posts for a chance to win a Unity gift voucher!  See, awesome!  I was a member of the Kit of The Month programme for a few years so I will be using various stamps from these kits this week.  Here's we go......

I used stamps from KOTM December 2018 and May 2019 for this card.

I started by stamping a white panel with the clustered heart stamp from the December 2018 kit.  The sentiment is also from this kit.  I used red archival ink and mounted it on a white slimline card base.

I stamped the girl from the May 2019 KOTM kit, coloured with distress inks and mounted the panel on the card.  The sentiment was stamped on a thin strip and added across the bottom of the card.

Check Your Boobs

Hello Nomad friends.  It's October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Have you checked your boobs recently??  With so much chaos happening I know regular routines are disrupted, but we need to keep an eye on these things.  It's also the 8th of the month and I have a Technique Time post over at Let's Squash It!!  I'm investigating double embossing and here's the UFO that became a finished object today.....

I went pink, in honour of the whole boob thing.  This Unity stamp is making her second outing this week, but she is rather sweet isn't she.  I've used two embossing folders in the background and a little subtle Spun Sugar distress ink.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hop over to Let's Squash It! and check out my Technique Time post and we will be back in a couple off days with the new challenge.  Hugz
