Last of the Month

Hello Nomad friends.  Just wanted to share a couple of cards I made today for some last of the month linky action.  I am trying to use desktop finds cos I really am trying to find the desktop!!!

The second card this month with this lovely golf die from hunkydory.  A little fussy diecut combo.  The yellow circle was lurking and seemed to fit.  I made a hexagonal easel card using daisy mae dies and more green scraps.

Then I had a Christmas moment.   Done quite well with the Christmas cards this month, which is good cos Christmas is coming!!!!!!!

Liking this lots.  Have a soft spot for this kort og godt pig stamp.  So cute with his little gingerbread man.  The background is a DRS stamp and actually there is a snowman there, but the pig covered him perfectly.  I did a blue watercolour wash for the sky and went wild with the glitter glue for the foreground.

Falling into Autumn

Hello Nomad friends.  I refuse to accept that fall is just around the corner, despite the feeling outside today that it is trying to push summer into the memory category.   I need more sun!!   My tomatoes need more sun!!   If you have sun please send it this way.  But while I'm waiting I decided to make a card for the Memory Box challenge where they want to see fall creations!!!  Despite the theme they also admit it's still summer so send that sunshine over to me will you please.........

I went with autumn colours and a hedgehog, cos they always make me think of piles of fallen leaves and hibernating!!!   I used Memory Box Leafy Tree Frame and stencilled the embossed leaves in autumn shade through the convenient holes in the die.  I added Poppystamps Whittle Papa Hedgehog.  Adorbs!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget the sun!!  Hugz

Winter Warmth

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the final week of August and it's Rudolf Days over at Scrappy Mo's blog.  I've been organising my craft room and moved some Unity stamps.  Well, it isn't long before tidying turns to creating and I just couldn't resist using one of my most favourite Unity girls.

This girl is from Unity's Warmth of Winter kit.  The sentiment is from a different kit.  I went with the BYHSC sketch again cos it's fab.  The background is created with spritzed distress ink on Rubber Dance small ink dots stencil.

Lounging Around

Hello Nomad friends.  I keep meaning to join in with the MFT sketch challenges, but after a little thinking the week has gone, a new sketch is up and a little thinking is in order.  But look, I got one made!!!   Using one of my favourite ever MFT sets, Lovable Leopards.

The base card is a really old DCWV one.  Bought a box of these years ago and have decided I need to get them used.  The spots seemed a perfect base for the cute leopard.

Pop Up Leaves

Hello Nomad friends.  I was playing with this cute tree die from creative expressions and made a quite clean looking card despite all the layers.

I layered base card, textured card, patterned card, embossed vellum layer and then the tree, which is two layers and the trunk, but still managed to achieve quite an elegant open feel to the card.  That lovely textured pearlescent card I used for the first layer and the top layer of the tree has been hanging around a long time.  Isn't it pretty!!!   The die cuts the leaves so you can have them popping out for a very pretty effect.

Scrappy Awesome

Hello Nomad friends.  Another lovely warm sunny day.  Ate good food with friends, watched the rabbits and chickens hopping and chickin around, pulled some weeds, ate ice cream.  Don't forget to buy ice creams that not only taste good but also have great boxes!!!   I used my ice cream box to cut the kraft panels for this card and then lots of scraps for the paper weaving.

Actually loving this.  I used Stamplorations stitched rectangle and Marianne Designs paper weaving die.  I wove lots of scraps together and also wove some paper strips around the panel edges.  Four tiny metal heart brads and I cut Gummiapan's Lolita (the chicken) from a scrap of the painted card.

Sunshine and the Great Outdoors

Hello Nomad friends.  I have been enjoying a couple of days of sunshine and relaxation. Good food and good company.  I've also made a card for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity challenge.  We want to see your Vintage or Steampunk style makes

I've made a vintage style card featuring the very dapper Drake Dog from Lost Coast Designs.  He always makes me think of a Victorian country gent.
I made the background using Lost Coast Designs Mini Phenology Collage stamp with potting soil archival ink.  I used part of the stamp that featured the lovely buildings and concentric circles.  Then using the same ink I roughly stamped the script words and a pattern from Pieces of Calligraphy and then filled in the gaps with ATC Doodle Flowers stamp.  No masking or even using a block, the same ink makes everything blend nicely together.  I edged the panel with the same brown ink and then smeared on a bit of Tumbled Glass distress ink and spritzed with water to soften and blend.  When it had dried I stamped Carmen's Veranda Live In The Sunshine sentiment and added Lost Coast Designs Drake Dog, stamped coloured and fussy cut.

I hope you get some time to stamps something in a vintage or steampunk style and join the fun at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  The team are sharing inspiration the rest of the month with this theme and we hope to see lots of lovely entries in the linky.  Take care.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Lazy Summer Days

Hello Nomad friends.  I am over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today with some final inspiration for the Summertime challenge.  You have until 23.59 PST tonight to join the fun.  I've gone with a simple card in warm summer colours with this cute Carmen's Veranda Small Baby Elephant and sentiment for that lazy summer feeling.

Isn't he just adorbs!!!!   I have him hanging over a Lost Coast Designs Grunge Border 2" 'wall'.  I stamped the elephant, masked him, stamped the grunge border, and then did a quick watercolour wash for the sky.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Huge To Do List sentiment, split it in two and edged the fussy cut pieces with blue pen.

You still have time to stamp something summery and join the fun at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  The team posts awesome inspiration throughout the month so hop over, leave a little love and I look forward to seeing your makes.

Dancer

Hello Nomad friends.  Yep, it's me again!!   Told you the mojo was back.  So I'm flicking through my Poppystamp dies and spotted this lovely Curvy Heart Side Strips die (which comes with a matching stencil) and thought I should try that in red.  So I did.  And then I thought, hmm gold base??   Yes, had one of those.  Then you just have to go with a black silhouette don't you??  For that classic colour combo.......

I used Poppystamps lovely large Sugarplum Faerie, without the wings, for this classic ballerina.  Another card to send to my auntie who still practices ballet and is helping with the youngsters as well.  She is also very appreciative of my hand made cards, which is always a delight, so I tend to always send her some extra's with her birthday and christmas cards.   There was a tiny mark on the black card which Mr Mojo found unacceptable so I decided to cut a tiny red heart and add that to her tutu.

Thanks for dropping by.  Take care and I hope the mojo is with you.  Hugz

Gosh, Mojo

Hello Nomad friends.  Mr Mojo is back!!!!   Suddenly I am seeing things that work together again.  I had a different idea for the flowers on this card, but the first abandoned idea fell onto an 'easily distracted off cut' and sparked a 'we'll play with that later' moment.  It's so nice!!!   So glad my brain is working again, even if it is springing in so many different directions at one time.  Anyway........ flowers and butterflies...

I started with a 5 x 7" white card base and used an acrylic block to stamp my spritzed mowed lawn and cracked pistachio distress rectangle.  I stamped various flowers from Crafty Individuals Build a Meadow stamp set.  I used this old sizzix set, butterfly cards, which has some lovely postage style dies and two pretty butterfly dies.  I cut the trio of butterflies and a pretty postage frame from shades of yellow card and added it over my stamped meadow.  Then I stamped the awesome Crafty Individuals sentiment (CI 410)

Gotta Love Coffee

Hello Nomad friends.  We got sunshine today!!   Happy day and ice cream in the garden!!!!  I looked at some UFO's and managed to get this one finished today.

Slimline card for coffee and love lovers.  I used Kort og Godt yellow star patterned card to make the card base and doodled around the edge with a copper sharpie.  XOXO!!!!   I cut a red scrap that had some failed heat embossing on the back and cut the two red hearts using Funky Fossil Coffee Lovers die set.  The coffee bean heart I used the die to emboss a scrap of ice lolly packaging and hit it big time with Potting Soil archival ink.  Then I cut the loves from little blue scraps using Funky Fossil Funky Word dies.

Love how soft and puffy the embossed heart turned out.  I saw someone online who was colouring with coffee (brewed, cold) the other day and asked her if you get the smell as well.  You do!  I might have to splash a bit around for smell-o-vision!!!!

At The Golf Club

Hello Nomad friends.  My mojo is on holiday and the weather has taken a turn for autumn.  I work so much better in sunshine.  A fun challenge also helps.  Scrappesyken wanted us to use 5 things beginning with the first initial of our first name.  That's a fun challenge.  I went with the name my mother gave me and norwegian so my 5 things are green, grey, golf, boy and happy birthday!!!

My camera hated my ribbled grey paper and the first few shots made it look like grey and white stripes.  This one is better.  Hunkydory golfer die, a pale green scrap, a couple of layers and some stickers from Papirdesigns.  I couldn't find a big sentiment small enough to fit the gap on the left hand side, and two stickers looked too small so I went with a plethora.  From the top for my English speaking audience; Happy Birthday, Hurrah For You, Birthday Hug and It's Your Day.

Wisdom of The Sea and Mountains

Hello Nomad friends.  I am over at at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today where the current challenge is Summertime.  The team are sharing all their hot, summery makes.  I was thinking that summer is a good time to get out and enjoy nature so I decided to make a card using Lost Coast Designs Cracked Grass and Drake Dog and a new sentiment from Carmen's Veranda which really spoke to my soul.

The observant amongst you may notice that Drake Dog didn't make the final cut cos he disturbed my vision of sweeping mountains.  I used the very unassuming Cracked Grass stamp for both mountains and grass.  When I first got the cracked grass stamp I couldn't work out why it wasn't cracked mountains!  Then I turned it up the right way and had an ohhhhhh! moment.  But I still think it makes good mountains too!  Well, it looks mountain/lake enough for me.  Call it abstract art bwahahahhaaaa.   I never claim to be an artist which is why I stamp LOL.  I watercoloured my mountain scene with distress inks and sparkle.  I added the awesome Everything Will Be Fine sentiment, which I split into two parts.

I hope you get time to stamp something summery and join the fun at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so check back often and I look forward to seeing your makes.

Way Down South

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the second of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge Reveal.  Make a card, send a card, get a card.  Everyone gets a card, everyone is a winner!!!  32 cardmakers joined us in June sending love and joy and awesome cards winging their way around the planet.  If you like sending and receiving real handmade cards this is the place to be.  We had one new player this month, Dagmara from Poland, which is always fabulous.  Dagmara also gave us another new country for our list!!   We are working on global coverage and our chain of crafty love spreads ever wider this month.

My card went to Chris in Illinois, USA.

I used the colour option (exact matching not required LOL), the themes of circles and friendship and the technique stitches.  You only ever need to use one of the challenge options, but it's nice to try and incorporate a few.  I cut my slimline panels with Time For Tea Slimline Scalloped Trio Circle Nesting dies and used Hero Arts Bandicoot & Friends Stamp set for those cute animals and punny sentiments.  I just had to have this set of Antipodean animals.  I think they have such interesting wildlife in the south.  Maybe they think the same about the ones around here that I take for granted.  Don't take wild life for granted.  They are precious.  I wanted this to look even more sunny so I used the small rays stamps from Hero Arts Egg-cellent! stamp set in the circles behind the animals.
