Kitty Pink

Hello Nomad friends.  I am over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today with some inspiration for the Cats and Dogs challenge.  At the moment it seems team cat is in charge.  Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda have a multitude of cat and dog stamps in all sorts of styles, so there is something for everyone.  Today I am using Carmen's Veranda Large Peekaboo Kitty and some Lost Coast Designs Pawprints.

I used a sketch from De Egel and lots of scraps in shades of pink.

I stamped the Happy Birthday using pink archival ink on shrink plastic and cut with a circle die.
Here's one shrunk and one not.

I stamped Peekaboo Kitty on a cream scrap, fussy cut and added her to the card.
A few Pawprints and done!!

Link up your stamped anythings featuring Cats and/or Dogs and don't forget to check back often for awesome inspiration from the team.
Hope to see you in the linky.

Golden Bear

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy New Year!!!  I hope 2023 is awesome for us all.   It's the 2nd of the year and time for the Card Chain Challenge reveal.  We played tic-tac-tic-tac-toe for our December cards and 26 ladies took up the challenge, which is wonderful at such a busy time of year.   My card went to Imke in Germany and I used the bottom line of Gold, Stars, Bear, Shrink Plastic and Silver.

I used sizzix colourize bear and, in keeping with my perennial resolution, built him from scraps of gold and silver card.  This is my first time using this bear die and I love it!  The star is a sizzix bigz die with matching embossing folder inked with a bit of dandelion archival ink.   I stamped Crafty Individuals 'Friendship cannot be measured only treasured' sentiment on shrink plastic and skrunk it.

This was the bingo card we used so do pop over and check out all the amazing cards in the reveal.

There is still time for you to sign up for the January exchange if you would like to send and receive gorgeous handmade happy mail.

Thanks for dropping by.  Thank you for your continuing love and support.  Hugz

Charlie in Pieces

Hello Nomad friends.  I saw a challenge the other day for matchbox art.  Now I wouldn't usually do this sort of thing, but Mr Mojo thought it would be nice to think outside of the box, or in this case, inside the box!!!!  So here we are, an altered, mixed media matchbox featuring the gorgeous Charlie Chaplin from Carmen's Veranda.

I actually am in love with this tiny creation!!  For all the details you can check out the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  There is also still time to stamp something with a masculine theme and join the Man Cave Challenge.  Here's a quick look at the inside, which I filed with stars and a Charlie Chaplin magnetic puzzle!!!!

I stamped Charlie on a 3" square of white woodgrain patterned card, added some red Promarker colour, covered with sticky plastic and cut into inch squares.  I also added some thin magnet to the back of each piece cos I thought it would be fun to have a fridge magnet Charlie puzzle!! I stamped Charlie on white shrink plastic, fussy cut and shrunk him.

I covered the inside of the matchbox drawer with black paper, the outside with red paper and attached a piece of red ribbon.  I cut a piece of red foam and one piece of black to fit inside the drawer.  I cut the black piece with a star die and put them in the drawer.

I covered the matchbox cover with handmade textured paper and wrapped it with some sequinned red thread.  I cut a few stars from red mirror card and added my shrunken Charlie.  What a fun treat it will be!

Remember to link up your Man Cave makes for a chance to win.

On The Button

Hello Nomad friends.
I've been playing with the lovely colours Turquoise and Terracotta for the current challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and Carmen's Veranda Bullseye Face stamp.

This is a large stamp so I just stamped it on my card base keeping it close to the hinge and trimmed off the small edges that weren't stamped.  I used Bluebird archival to stamp and Rusty Hinge distress to colour.  Then I stamped the same stamp on shrink plastic, die cut with a circle die, coloured and shrunk and added it to the bullseye.  I also found three pale blue with brown spots buttons that seemed too perfect to pass up.  I edged the card with a brown Promarker to give a little bit more depth.  Love this and also love how the shrink plastic keeps all that beautiful detail in miniature!!!

More details and photo's over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Blog.  Join the Turquoise and Terracotta fun for your chance to win!!

A Day In April

Hello Nomad friends.  How are you holding up in these strange times.  Some days the surreality of it all is just overwhelming.  April has a lot of significant dates for me so I have decided to document a few of them.

I made a mini album page

I used black bazzill 12 x 12 inch sheet and Green, Blue and Silver Aztec paints and had a splat fest!!    Looks quite galactic!!!

I filled all the page pockets with my splatty background and then added that particularly fetching picture of myself.  I coloured a piece of card with green brushos and added some gold Aztec paint smears.  I die cut the leaves and added some pen details.  The flower was stamped and embossed and I added some brusho sprinkles.  I used a typewriter for the date and journaling.  I added a shrink plastic Poodle on my jacket cos I am obviously having a poodle sort of day!!!  Poodle stamp by Rubber Dance, flower stamp by Uniko.

Tall Tales

Hello Nomad friends.  I have a fun card over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today featuring one of Lost Coast Designs new gnomes.  This is Reindeer Gnome and I've paired hem with some repeat stamping for the Monkey See, Monkey Do challenge.  This fun challenge wants to see stamped projects featuring monkeys and/or repeat stamping.  Here's my card.

I've repeat stamped the Carmen's Veranda sentiment using shrink plastic for the second one.  The background is Lost Coast Designs Fruit Pods Background and there's Reindeer Gnome looking gorgeous in those antlers.

I coloured the gnome with Promarkers and glitter glue.  All the other inks are archival.

Smart Fox

Hello.  Welcome.  I was hunting through a box of pre-stamped images and came across this cute little fox that I had stamped on a scrap of patterned paper.  In the interests of trying to use up some UFO I searched a little further and found a sentiment I had stamped on a scrap of shrink plastic, but never skrunk!!  Well, they seemed made for each other....

I found a white ATC base and smooched Ripe Persimmon and Mowed Lawn distress ink on it.  I fussy cut the Unity fox and skrunk the sentiment and put it all together.

We should all take some time each day to be overwhelmed by the sheer amazingness of it all.

Mini Me Santa

Hello.  Welcome.  Paperartsy have a matchbox art challenge that I have been thinking about.  Then Etsuko made some stunning art using shrink plastic, and an idea I have been playing with came into focus.

There we go!!  Serviettes, candle and matchbox in a bag.
Let's talk a bit more about the matchbox.

It took a bit of finding but I finally got hold of this chunky matchbox.  I put the ruler there and then covered it up with my watermark LOL.  These boxes are 7 x 5 x 2.5cm and are a lovely size to work with.  The matches are also a bit longer than usual so finger friendly!!

I cut a piece of designer paper 14.5 x 7cm.  I used a snowflake and a sentiment stamp from Rubber Dance and embossed with Wow gold embossing powder.  The Norwegian sentiment reads 'with wishes for a lovely christmas'.  I also used an embossing pen to add some lines, squiggles and edging and also embossed in gold.

Cover the two large sizes of your matchbox with double sided tape and stick on your decorated paper and voila!!  If you got the embossing in the right place hopefully it looks like a little book.   The size of paper allows a little overlap on the striker side and a curve on the spine side with the 'title'.  And then there's that santa shrinky dinky........

I cut my white shrink plastic with Sizzix Ornament 2 die and stamped Kreativ Henders Santa.  I coloured with distress ink and after shrinking added some silver pilot marker to the top.  Then I hung it off a bit of red and gold twine.

I've used the same santa image on the candle using tissue paper to transfer the image.  You can see how much it shrank and how lovely the details remain.  I put them in a bag with some santa patterned serviettes and used more of the red and gold twine with a couple of square wooden beads for a little festive paafff!!   Thinking this will be a perfect hostess gift for a pre-Christmas party we have been invited to.
