Hello Mummy

Hello Nomad friends.  Someone mentioned that it will be Mother's Day soon so I went all yellow and red and Memory Box dies.

I always remember that my mum doesn't like red and white together, she calls it blood and bandages, so I decided yellow might work.  It's such a happy colour and I don't use it enough.  Note to self.......   I used Memory Box Leafy Tree Frame and added Clementine Border die to the bottom of the central frame for a loving flowery look.

Catoglyphs

Hello Nomad friends. Only 2 more sleeps til the big night bwahaahaahahaaaa.  I'm over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today with some mummy fun.
I hope you have been enjoying the spooktacular projects from the team.   If you haven't had a chance to see them all then grab some candy and scroll down.  It's a Treat!!!!
Here's Mummy, sitting in his favourite place in the crypt with a couple of feline friends.

I used a piece of grungy card for my base and stamped Lost Coast Designs Flagstone Background with grey archival ink.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs ATC Many Cats on a piece of the grungy card with Sepia archival ink and added it to the tomb decor.  Mummy and the Cats were stamped and fussy cut and I used some Dirty Sand embossing powder to give them somewhere to be.

Remember you also have two challenges on the blog to choose from so link up your makes for a chance to win.  We are also one of the sponsors of the Cat Lovers Hop, so another chance to win lovely Lost Coast Designs stamps this month.

The Rising of the Undead

Hello Nomad friends.  I was supposed to be digi-scrapping this weekend but a nasty little virus had other ideas and cut me off at the pass.  But it's Sunday, the sun is sort of shining on a cool October day and my head has cleared enough for Mr Mojo to ask 'What hit us??'.   Not sure Mr Mojo, probably the flu, but maybe just a whole herd of little green viruses driving trucks..........

I decided to work on the whole undead feeling and make another treat box.  This one is for mummy......

There's some cats and bats around the other sides.  I used Cuttlebug tombstone die and embossed it with sizzix spiderweb and stamped a boo.  The mummy is from Sizzix Hip Haunts die set.  The box is sizzix Wrap Favour box dies tied up with some black wool.  I added the ragged fishtail tag and that cute little owl is from Websters Pages and is probably older that mummy!!!!!

Bun in the Oven

Hello Nomad friends.   I wanted to make an expectant mum card with some new to me Marianne Design dies.  I think baby showers are a bit more of a US idea.  Brits tend to be a bit more pragmatic, or is that realistic, and I don't think we are so into counting our chickens before they have hatched.  But any excuse for a party is OK with me LOL.

I made a shaker filled with hearts, stars and the 100% happy sentiment.  I used Marianne Design papers cut with MD Ticket dies and the expectant mum was cut from black card.  The congrats is a goldline sticker.

31 Days of Halloween Day 4 - Long Tall Mummy

Hello Nomad friends.  I hope your October is off to a spooktastic start.  I am posting something Halloweeny every day this month.  I have also been sorting the crafty space and checking out some of those dusty corners and cobweb festooned shelves discovering UFO's and ancient designer papers.  So here is today's offering.  Mummy is gathering in the harvest.

I've made a few cards with this Sizzix movable Mummy die.  I've never seen it anywhere else, but I have fun making different scenes with it.  It's been a while since Mummy was last out of the tomb.....

There he is, already cut and bradded together, lounging around in the die cut UFO drawer.....

Found this ye olde ancient Authentique 30x30 paper and was particularly taken by the top RHS corner.

I used a DL card base and cut a piece of the Authentique paper, distressed the edges with knife and ink and added it to the card base.  It took a while to find a pumpkin for Mummy to hold but eventually I stumbled on these MME chipboards.  Now the real fun thing about mummy is........

Watch out Mummy you almost dropped Pumpkin!!!

Whoopsie!  To much left hand down!!!!!!

Me thinks Mummy may have been in the apple cider!!!

Of course, the big question is....... why do we call them Mummies, when most of them were blokes? or cats? with the occassional hippopotomus!!!!

Movie Night - 31 Days of Halloween Day 18

Merry met midnight stalkers.  The most spooktacular day of the year draws ever nearer.  Pumpkin dude has recruited some friends to remind us of our movie heroes.

I used MME Mischevious patterned paper, cut with a stitch die and edged with distress oxide ink.  I used a Darice Filmstip embossing folder with black card.  I stamped The Greeting Farms Spooktacular rubber stamps, coloured and fussy cut.  I added the characters to the filmstrip and added some sticker words from MME Something Wicked sticker sheet.

My Mummy Loves His Cat

Hello.  Welcome.  The ancient Egyptians were known for their respect and esteem for cats.   Some great information about this at Ancient Egypt Online.  So I decided to make a card using one of my favourite Sizzix dies - Movable Mummy, sadly now retired bwahahahahaha

He's so cool.  I used some paper that I thought looked a bit like sand and filled the sky with cats.  That's also some patterned paper I have had in the stash for, well, a while.  All the cat stash seeing the light of day.  Thanks Janis.

I cut my mummy from grey card, added some googly eyes and assembled him with mini brads.  The cat is also a Sizzix die cut.  I added some white pen details and gave him a bandage for his tail.  The fish hanging from Mummy's bandage is a Dress It Up button.  Only Mummy's straight leg is glued down.  By grabbing the toe of his other leg you can move him about.  It's quite fun jiggling the fish in front of the cat.   Meowww.
