A Very Good Year

Hello Nomad friends.  It certainly is chilly here in Norwayland, and we had a nice covering of snow the other day which is still hanging around.
I am over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today with some inspiration for the Winged Things Challenge.  I've used Lost Coast Design's beautiful Mini Maritime Collage stamp which features this lovely stork.

I made a simple masculine birthday card in muted tones.  I started with some pale grey card and stamped the Maritime Collage with brown archival ink and cut it as a long panel.  Then I stamped again on more of the pale grey card using black and midnight blue archival ink.  I fussy cut the black light house and the blue stork and added them to the panel.  Then I mounted centrally on a white card base and stamped the Happy Birthday using Lost Coast Designs Misc. Words.

My winged things are super unimpressed with the white stuff!!! That's my new rooster Rocky and a couple of his dark ladies keeping their feet out of the cold stuff.

You have all month to share your stamped anythings featuring things with wings. Hop over to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and join the fun.  The team are sharing awesome inspiration throughout the month.

Old Yellow

Hello Nomad friends.  I am over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today.  This month it's all about colours with a choice of two colour schemes to choose from.  I've gone all Lemon and Lime and used this beautiful Old Truck stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

The background stamp is Carmen's Veranda Cracked Mirror.  I used green ink for stamping and distress inks for water colouring.  The sentiment is from Lost Coast Designs Travel Quotes set.

Tag it and Happy Moon

Hello Nomad friends.  I was into tags using Aall and Create stamps this weekend.  I used this awesome ostritch stamp on a oil pastel background.

Isn'the adorbs.  I stamped directly on the background and then on a piece of white card and fussy cut the bird.

Then I went with these blokes.  I found a bit of ribbon with the sentiment embossed on it and then I spotted this moon on my desk!!   Where did that come from??  Oh yes, it's the bit from round the ostrich's head!!  Cool.  Coloured it yellow and tah dah!!  I used sprays and a stencil in the background.

Flights Of Fancy

Hello Nomad friends.  I have a semi clean and simple card over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today for the For The Men Challenge.  Have you checked out all the masculine inspiration??  So many lovely masculine stamps at Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda and so many awesome ideas on how to use them from the team.  Do hop over and take a look.

I've used with the gorgeous STP Dirigible stamp
and Lost Coast Designs Shadow Frame background.

Isn't it sweet.  I stamped the large rectangular Shadow Frame with Ice Blue chalk ink and then edged it with some Sky Blue archival.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs STP Dirigible onto the inked panel with black ink and added some distress marker colour.  I also tried to whiten the clouds a bit with a white gel pen.  I cut the panel with a stiched edge die and stuck it on a white card base.  The Happy Birthday is from Lost Coast Designs Party Words set and was stamped with the Sky Blue archival ink.

For The Men

Making Stuff Sort Of Day

Hello Nomad friends.  I think we probably have about 6 inches of snow on the ground after repeated showers yesterday and the day before.  The temperatures have come up a bit and it still looks like it could go either way.  I have taken advantage of a snowy weekend to make a few cards.

First, a Christmas card with a stamped wordy background.  I put a variety of Christmas sentiment clear stamps together on my acrylic block, repeatedly stamped them on pale grey card and embossed with red embossing powder.  Then I smeared the whole thing with red ink.  I added a couple of Signature die cut fa lla lla lla llamas, in scarves of course.

Gotta llove a llama.  I used some scraps of light grey card for the llama's and some snippets of red and yellow to dress them up.

My second card is based on the sketch at Creative Sketchy Girls.  I decided to make a masculine birthday easel card and repeat the sketch inside too.

I used a blue cog paper from Docrafts and some scraps of brown patterned card that I cut into thin strips.  The vintage car toppers are from Craft Creations (shop closed).  I've had them a long time.  The metal cog charm is from Korthobby.no.

Regal Birthday

Hello Nomad friends.  I have an easy birthday card for you today featuring the lovely Lion from Rubber Dance African Animals.

I started by stamping Lion and the birthday sentiment from Happy Birthday with purple archival ink.  I ripped some paper and used it to mask and blended a purple distress ink border.  I cut with a Stamplorations stitched rectangle die and layered onto a black mat and white card base.  I stamped Lion again on white card with brown archival ink, coloured with distress markers and fussy cut him.  I cut a Korthobby metal charm in half and added it and layered the fussy cut Lion onto the card.

I hope you feel inspired to get out your stamps and create something today.   If you are using Rubber Dance stamps you can join the fun and link up your makes in the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge.  See you there!!!

Brum Brum

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy Friday!!!  It's the 10th of the month so time for a new challenge at Let's Squash It!   This month we want to see masculine cards using any embossing folder.  Awesome inspiration from Jo and our fabulouse guest designer this month so do pop over, check those out and join the fun.  I've made a birthday road trip card using sizzix Road Signs embossing folder and some motorbike stamps from Kort og Godt.

I covered my folder with Tea Dye distress ink and embossed a piece of book paper.  Then I tore and inked the edges and mounted on a mottled aqua card base.

I stamped and cut the motorcyclist using the matching die and stamped the tyre and sentiment on the base card.  Brum brum.........

Cookie Cure

Hello Nomad friends.  I hope your weekend is going well.  There's a new challenge starting today over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and we are going into the Man Cave!!  Yes, that's right, it's all about the men this fortnight.  I know manly makes can be a challenge, but I hope you will grab that mitten with both hands and join the fun, or at least hop over to the blog and check out all the awesome inspiration from our amazing, wonderful, talented team.  Here's my card, and I've gone a bit grumpy for a get well soon make.

I used Lost Coast Designs Evil Eye, Large Rectangle Shadow Frame, PMC Circle Frame and Carmen's Veranda 27 Cookies for my card.

I started by stamping Lost Coast Designs Evil Eye on a piece of white card and masked it.  Then I inked Lost Coast Designs Large Rectangle Shadow Frame with Sepia archival ink.  Then I used the PMC Circle Frame to 'kiss' the inked Shadow Frame before stamping it on the card.  Cool!!

I used distress ink to watercolour Evil Eye and added some gel pen highlights.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda 27 Cookies on white card with blue archival ink, chopped it up and arranged it on the kissed panel.

You have until the end of the month to join the Man Cave Challenge.

English BBQ

Hello.  Welcome.  Spotted this guy in the stash yesterday.  Yesterday's griller looked competent and in control.  This one reminds me of an English barbeque where it takes ages to get it going, everything ends up burnt, and then it rains.  Or maybe it rains first, and everything still ends up burnt.  It's not really an English sport......

I used Gail's tutorial to make my ATC base and embossed with Sizzix Rivet Plate embossing folder.  Love that the texture has transfered to the foil as well.  One space was perfect to stamp and emboss the happy birthday from MFP Tiger set.  My chef and BBQ are from Panduro's Men set coloured with promarkers and distress inks.
