Slimline Butterflies

Hello Nomad friends.  I was looking for a butterfly die and found this lovely Rare Butterfly from sizzix that I have had for many moons and I don't think I have ever cut it.  Gosh, I wonder why, because it is rather splendid.

A few places want slimline, with or without butterflies, and I went with three of Mrs A's colours using scraps of thistle (pale purple) teal and tea green (a piece of embossing folder packaging).  I used Elisabeth Craft dies for the wonky frames.

Gotta hustle.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Does My Ass Look Big In This?

Hello Nomad friends.  Seems to be a lot of pink around this month. And hearts.  Gotta have some hearts in February......

I used lots of pink scraps to put Bernice the hippo together and that frame came on the back of a pack of patterned paper and has been kicking around a looooong time.  I embossed a scrap of Prima patterned paper with sizzix 3D romance embossing folder.  The sentiment is from Carmen's Veranda and it's one of my favourites.

O' Tis The Moon

Hello Nomad friends.  Playing with some new goodies this evening.  Also finding new places to play and new inspiration, so all is great in my crafty corner tonight.   I really like the sizzix colourize dies and I've added Otis to my collection.  Lots of layers and dimension on this one and as usual, a great way to use up the scraps.

I used a cream textured card base and added a chipboard frame that I cut using Daisy Mae Torn Edge Stitched hexagon dies.  I cut the greyboard three times to give me a nice thick frame and then painted with Colourcraft Aztec Gold paint.  I cut all the bits for Otis the moon from lots of yellow and gold scraps, put him together and added him to the frame.  I cut a piece of black card with the hexagon die and then with Penny Black Starry die and backed it with yellow holographic card.  A pre-printed birthday greeting and done.

Squashy Sploshy Time

Hello Nomad friends.  I am over on the wonderful Let's Squash It! blog today with a Technique Time post all about using watercolours with your embossing folders.  We want to inspire you to dig out your embossing folders, knock off the dust and make some pretty cards with them.  I'm sharing a few cards and ideas today for colouring with watercolour mediums so hop over and check em out.  Here's one of my cards using Sizzix Rooster Frame and some Tripaint sticks I bought eons ago from one of the cheap shops.

I embossed Kort og Godt pale grey woodgrain card.  Quite pleased with how this cute rooster turned out.

There will be a new challenge starting on the 10th over at Let's Squash It! so check it out and join the fun.

Sugarplum Love

Hello Nomad friends.
Sometimes you just need to send a little love.

I've used Poppystamps Large Sugarplum Fairy and Heartland Oval Frame. I cut the fairy 3 times from different shades of blue card and offset them to give a shadow/highlight.  I used a aqua base card and a panel to match the fairy cut with Stamplorations Double Stitch Rectangle die.  I added the Heartland Oval frame cut from white card and then the fairy.  The hearts at her feet are two glossy dome stickers.

I hope you are keeping safe and well.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Happy Mail

Hello Nomad friends.  It has been a perfectly glorious day and I have been out in the garden planting seeds, potting things up, discovering that Bob rabbit had dug a huge tunnel under one of the rabbit hutches and was a meter under next doors fence!!!!  Naughty Bob!!!!!  Don't you love it when you got the day planned and then other jobs pop up and suddenly you're doing a white rabbit act.  Story of my life.  That's why I stopped wearing watches.   But the good news is my Card Chain Challenge card made it through to Gundi in Germany so that gives me something to share with you today.

I went with the colours, Black, Plum and Lilac, sorta the sketch and the theme of friendship.  I started with a black base card and added this frame that has been kicking around forever but was just perfectly the right colours.  When does that happen???  Never right??  Anyway, stamped the fun PaperArtsy sentiment in plumeria chalk and added Stampoutique's Little Hoo Hoo, stamped coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  He looks rather cool, standing there against the black void clutching his Hoo Hoo.  Gundi said she liked it so all is good in the world.

Birthday Tiger

Hello Nomad friends.  Found a tiger lurking in the scraps box so put him together with a few other bits and bobs and Dave's your uncle, a card!!

I haven't used this MFP tiger for a while but he is rather magnificent isn't he.  Stamped and embossed with black powder on yellow card and fussy cut.  I found the frame in the scrap pile on my desk and added it to a Kort og Godt Retro Gul base card.  The sentiment is a printed strip which I edged with yellow ink.

Thanks for dropping by.  Keep well, stay safe.  Hugz

Hello Bird Dog

Hello Nomad Friends.  Weather wise the day started surprisingly well, and has ended predictably wet!!!  Changeable is what they call it.  I got a flower bed in the garden tidied this morning and then adjorned to the craft room for some stamp/cut therapy.

I used the Santa from the Paper Smooches Santa Paws set the other day, but there are other stamps in this set where xmas is optional.  I decided to stamp this cute long dog and use the Fused Frame die for a CAS card.  I stamped the dog and then the bird, using Bluebird archival ink on a piece of card that matched my card base, fussy cut round the dog's nose, and then did a tricky cut with the Fused Frame die.  Then I cut the frame again from the darker blue card and added them to the card base in an ascetically pleasing manner.  I added a bit of ground using Weathered Wood distress marker.  The hello is a Stamplorations Skinny Sentiment die, cut from the same card as the base and frame.
