Leave the Gate Open

Hello Nomad friends.  A couple more cards to brighten a rainy day.

This is a cute 10cm x 10cm for a friend who loves canines and felines.  I used Kort og Godt orange stripe card for the base and added a square of blue corrugated split on the diagonal. The blue card square I blended Tumbled Glass distress ink through Stamplorations Weathered Wood stencil.  The cat and dog are Winnie and Walter stamped and fussy cut.  The sentiment is from Stamplorations Live Love Ride set and I am sure it applies to most animals, not just horses.

This second card used masking and ink blending.  I went with the butterfly challenge colours and Stamplorations Trendy Butterfly stamps.  The sentiment is from Stamplorations Celebrate Artsy set.

Fintastic Friends

Hello Nomad friends.  I have made a card for a fish loving friend.  I tried a bit of paper piecing for the background in the Retiform style.  Piecing the background allowed me to rotate the pieces of patterned paper for added interest.

I die cut the Cheery Lynn fish from a twinnings earl grey teabag box and then used Promarkers to add some colour.  I've also used a Promarker to edge the patterned paper pieces and colour the white base card for a matching look.  I cut the words using Stamplorations dies from some pale blue scraps.  The fintastic started life as fantastic and with a snip of the scissors a pun was born.

Welcome to the Spearmint Zone

Hello.  Welcome.  Feeling green this evening and decided to play with the retiform technique.  It looks like this

I masked and sponged the lines using Mowed Lawn distress ink.  Then I masked off the sections and stamped Winnie and Walters Peppermint Zone stamp with Pine Needles distress ink.  Then I die cut Winnie and Walters Thanks die 4 times from green glitter paper.

It's Your Turn

Hello.  Welcome.  I feel like Mr Mojo has been all bottled up and suddenly he's free and the ideas are wizzing around.  Hope I manage to catch them all before they fly out the window.  Ha Ha.

Have you ever tried the Retiform technique?  I've used it before but I had forgotton what fun it is.  You can find a fun tutorial by Pat here.  I decided to get out my MFP Tiger stamps and combine blue and yellow.

Yup, it's that tiger again.  Gotta love him.  I even managed to use the Yin/Yang stamps that also come in this set.  And the cute chinese proverb.  The butterflies are DRS 3 Butterflies stamp.  I used Versamark Aegean Blue chalk ink for the lines and Blueprint Sketch distress for the background stamping.  The tiger is black embossed on basic grey pp.

The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

Hello.  Welcome.  Happy Easter to all who partake thereof, and a Happy Day to everyone.  Hope the Easter Bunny has been good to you and your basket overfloweth with eggs of many sizes.  Especially chocolate ones.  Big, chocolate ones.  Hugz

Decided to have another play with the retiform technique.  Really quite intrigued with the result and, for someone who doesn't really like fiddle, the masking and inking and masking and stamping is really quite relaxing and enjoyable.   I decided to go blue.  I like blue.  Also I keep coming across the autism awareness blog hop and they like blue as well.

So I masked off my sections and used Salty Ocean distress.  Remembered to do the edges this time as well LOL.  I liked the shape of the center section and still thinking Autism blog hop I wondered if I had any light bulb images.

Yes!!  Stampers Anonymous Industrial Blueprints.  Actually, I thought these were perfect for what I understand Autism to be.  The lightbulb, the cogs, the lock and the key.   This is a fun technique and makes an interesting one layer card.

Thanks for dropping by.  Go gentle with those eggs now.  Hugz
