On The Button

Hello Nomad friends.
I've been playing with the lovely colours Turquoise and Terracotta for the current challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and Carmen's Veranda Bullseye Face stamp.

This is a large stamp so I just stamped it on my card base keeping it close to the hinge and trimmed off the small edges that weren't stamped.  I used Bluebird archival to stamp and Rusty Hinge distress to colour.  Then I stamped the same stamp on shrink plastic, die cut with a circle die, coloured and shrunk and added it to the bullseye.  I also found three pale blue with brown spots buttons that seemed too perfect to pass up.  I edged the card with a brown Promarker to give a little bit more depth.  Love this and also love how the shrink plastic keeps all that beautiful detail in miniature!!!

More details and photo's over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Blog.  Join the Turquoise and Terracotta fun for your chance to win!!

Doggy Dreams More

Hello.  Welcome.  Today I have a card over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity inspired by the current CAS challenge.  The linky closes at midnight 30th November so get out your stamps and inks, but remember to keep it clean and simple.

I used Lost Coast Designs Drake Dog, Domino's Border, Face with Feathers and the Carmen's Veranda sentiment, archival, dark blue dye ink, blue chalk ink, embossing powder, distress inks and gel pens.  That dog is just so cool and he knows it!!

In case you haven't seen, there is a Black Friday Sale over at Lost Coast Designs and you can save 20% on your whole order (before shipping) until midnight PST Sunday November 26th, so hop over and shop yourself a bargain.  Put Black Friday in the comment area of your order to receive the discount.

And don't forget to add your CAS creations to the challenge.  All stamp companies welcome and you could win some Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda stamps.
If the linky is not playing then just leave your link in the comments and we will add it to the draw to win Lost Coast dollars.

Fun With Faces

Hello.  Welcome.  There's a new face over at PaperArtsy.   Here's my version

I sketched my girl, grabbed a black pen and inked in the lines.  I would suggest if you do this that the black pen you grab is water fast.  Of course, mine wasn't LOL.  Why make it easy????

I coloured.  Skin a mix of FF Rose and white.  Hair a mix of FF Butternut and burnt sienna.  Face highlights a mix of FF Rose and burnt sienna

Then I forgot to take more photo's cos I was having too much fun.  I decided to go red and black.  Her jumper is red acrylic stamped with a couple of stamps from MME Indie Chic Ginger - Pictures set.  The background is Fired Brick Distress Stain stamped with two free stamps from Quick Cards magazine.  I stamped the flourish with Brilliance archival Rocket Red Gold and the butterfly with black archival

I inked the edges with black archival and mounted on Bazzill Blackberry Swirl.

I've done three of the four faces Clare shared.  If you would like to check out my previous masterpieces the tag on the left is here, the card on the right is here

Totally Clueless

Hello.  Welcome.  It's the weekend so usually my mornings are devoted to madly finishing and posting projects.  For some reason I decided to be responsible and get myself out in the garden to do a few jobs that have been on the list for far too long.  This means that the card for STAMPlorations and the journal page for Darcy remain unposted and I missed both deadlines.  How silly was that!!   But I do get 10/10 for gardening.

In an attempt to join in before I missed anymore linky deadlines I checked out the PaperArtsy blog to find that Clare Lloyd had posted number 2 face of the month.  Really enjoyed proving to myself last month that maybe I can draw so thought I'd have another go.  And just to complete my totally clueless afternoon I have just realised I am on Saturday, not Sunday so the PA linky doesn't close for another day.  Gosh, I may be early for something today after all.   Happy Dancing and LOL

Here's my initial sketch onto a #7 manilla tag.

Tah dah.  I coloured her face with FF Rose and added a little magenta to it to get the cheek/lips highlights.  The hair is FF Butternut with a bit of homemade brown added for the highlights.  The background is FF Limelight stamped with the little bubble stamp from PaperArtsy SM12.  I used Promarkers for her eyes, the outlines and the caterpillers eyebrows.  A couple of flowers stamped with JM34 and coloured with FF Pansy and Limelight and a couple of hearts from SM12 stamped and coloured with DI Picked Raspberry

I added some wool, its like a flat knitted ribbon, and a silver bead.

Close Encounters Of a Human Kind

Hello.  Welcome.  I remember many years ago I was doing various evening classes and I had signed up to a general craft class.  Imagine my horror, and all the other ladies, when the teacher handed us all charcoal pencils and asked us to draw the tulips!!  Uhhhhhh.   There were protests.  Many protests and threats of leaving but, paid your money, takes your chances.  No one left and a few picture recognisable as tulips resulted.  My feelings were much the same when faced with Clare Lloyd's post over at PaperArtsy.  I managed to ignore it previously but the title and post suggests that this is a regular feature so I have decided to succumb.......

Because of my previous success drawing a tulip I decided a charcoal pencil was the way to go and because of my general non-success with drawing a piece of plain white paper was a good place to start.   Shock horror she looks vaguely human.   I am the subject of alien bodysnatching.  Glad the alien can draw LOL......

Sorry, due to the shock I didn't take any more photo's.  Perhaps less is a blessing here.  If you are laughing may I respectfully ask that you keep it to yourself because for the woman who can't draw fish this is a result!  I used Fresco Finish Rose and Butternut, charcoal for her hair and highlights, or would that be lowlights.  Ah yes, shadows!!  The galaxy markers were still out so eyes and lips.  The background is Fresco Finish Limelight, a Prima stencil, a splat stamp from Kort og Godt and some edging by DI Walnut Stain.  I used the letter stamp from LPC003 on her body.  Let me know what you think, but be gentle with me.  It's the first person I have ever made.
