Beer Box Bunnies

Hello Nomad friends.   Clocks forward an hour in Europe today leaving us owls way behind.  So here's a bunch of bunnies to brighten a grey short day.

Staring at the double-sided patterned card I used for my card base I finally decided it came from The Works.  I used a scrap of greenish card cut with Mama Elephant grass die and smooched with Mowed Lawn distress ink for the ground.  The bunnies are all cut from ex-beer box, and hoping my beer loving friend pays us a visit over Easter and brings me a new box, cos this one is disappearing fast.  I actually used three different bunny dies (you don't say!!) from two different manufacturers and three different sets.  Mix and match at it's finest!!  Mummy bunny with the egg is Nellie Snellen Easter bunny.  I added a little promarker detail and paper pieced a few more scraps in for the egg and flower.  Bunny on the left is from sizzix Nature Friends set, and bunny on the right from sizzix Quirky Animals.

For a change I did a little inside management with the other half of the grass cut scrap and a writing field cut with Kort og Godt wonky circle.

Whining With Friends

Hello Nomad friends.  Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.  Yesterday was World Card Making Day and I did try LOL.  Today it's a perfect day to craft so I made a card and I'm going to chase a few WCMD challenges that are still open.

I recently rediscovered wood block stamps LOL.  Rubber is the best to stamp with and in the good old days wood blocks were the bees knees!!  I recently picked up some oldies, but goodies and these two friend, Art Impressions U-2837, are wineing together.  The background is navy card embossed with Nellie Snellen Summer Flowers embossing folder.  I smeared with Midnight archival ink to make the embossing pop.  I cut a piece of patterned paper for a hill and stamped, coloured with distress markers and fussy cut the two friends.  The sentiment is a Paperdesigns die with a pun on the word Friends.

Hola

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the second of the month and time for the Card Chain Challenge Reveal.  36 cardmakers joined us in June sending love and joy and awesome cards winging their way around the planet.  We had two new players, which is always fabulous, and they gave us not only a new US state but also a new country!!   We are working on global coverage and our chain of crafty love spreads ever wider this month.
My card went to Marga in Spain.

I went with the sketch and the options of wheels and friendship.  I found this lovely texture handmade paper and I've used that friendship sentiment from Crafty Individuals again.  The tandem die is NBUS from Nellie Snellen.

You can check out all the amazing cards which were sent and recieved in June HERE

You can join the fun by SIGNING UP
No long term commitment, just one month at a time, so feel free to jump in and try it out.

Pull my Bell

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm here with some more inspiration for the current 'use an embossing folder that includes numbers or letters and sand it challenge' at Let's Squash It!  I used a scrap of a blue metal sheet for my inspiration post and Nellie Snellen Let It Snow folder, so I decided to make it into a card.  This lovely folder is one of the amazing prizes on offer to our random winner each month.  You get a choice from our prize vault.  Ain't that great???

I was inspired by the sketch at Christmas Craft Creations and cut the bottom edge of the embossed sanded metal with a snowy landscape stitch die from Stamplorations.  I added a fun little elf from PaperArtsy who always makes me think of a stick of dynamite!!  His bell is usually on a thin line coming out of his hat but decided to fussy cut it off and give him a more scotch bonnet look.  I stamped and fussy cut him and coloured with Promarkers.

Dig out your wordy/numeric folders and sand paper and get squashing.  Linky is open until the end of the month so you have another week to join in.

Splattered Deer

Hello Nomad friends.  Don't worry!  No deers were hurt in the making of this card!  The title is a bit dramatic but it's just paint splatts, nothing nasty bwahhahahahaaa.  Tried two new dies and a new idea, which turned into one of those WTFwasIthinking moments.  In this case many moments as I tried to paper piece the negative cuts back into the die cut sentiment aperture.......

I took a blue base card and smeared it with Salty Ocean distress oxide ink.  I took a piece of quite dark Kort og Godt patterned paper and splatted with silver acrylic Aztec paint.  Then I cut the Nellie Snellen Winter Scene 2 and Stamplorations Making Spirits Bright die into it.  Then I spent ages piecing back in the tiny piece from the sentiment.  A better brain would have realised this challenge before making it a chore, but there we go.......

Actually liking this very muchly.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Simply Blingy

Hello Nomad friends.  It's time for a little more inspiration for the May Let's Squash It! challenge, leave some space and bling it up!

I've kept it simple and blinged it up with Nellie Snellen Ball Flower embossing folder.

I used an offwhite wood effect panel, smeared the flat side of my folder with Tumbled Glass distress ink and embossed.  No water added and I got this lovely swirl effect with the ink.  Gorgeous!!!  I think it goes well with the subtle woodgrain texture.  I blinged up my flowers with rhinestones and stamped the Norwegian Happy Birthday sentiment.   A blue card base and done!!

I hope you get some time to grab your folders and bling and join the fun.  Jo did a fabulous technique time post so check that out for ideas and inspiration.

Baaaaa-Humbug

Hello Nomad friends.  It's time for a little inspiration for the Let's Squash It! challenge use any embossing folder and an animal.  I've combined Nellie Snellen Snowy Cottages embossing folder, loads of glitter and a NBUS Hobby Art sheep photo bombing the scene.  Like they do!!!

I embossed a panel of white card with Nellie Snellen Snowy Cottages embossing folder and added some Sky Blue archival ink over the embossed areas.  Then I went a little crazy with the glitter glue LOL.  Winter sparkle!!!!   I mounted the panel on a pale blue card base.  I stamped the front half of Hobby Art Baa Humbug Sheep on some white card, fussy cut, added a touch of pink Promarker to his face and added him to the card.

Join the fun for a chance to win an embossing folder from the Prize Vault.

Under an Azure Sky

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 10th of the month and there is a new challenge starting over at Let's Squash It!  This month it's any embossing folder and add some die cuts or fussy cutting.  There are some beautiful cards to get things started, and we have our very first guest designer joining us this month, so do pop over, check out the inspiration and join the fun.  I have used fussy cutting and Nellie Snellen's Canal embossing folder for my card.

This looks really awesome in real life, but I decided to use a blue foil card for my base and the photographer was not impressed!!   I have also changed the look of this folder by chopping off the canals at the bottom and fussy cutting along the houses and trees at the top.  This allowed me to move the image down to the bottom of my 10x15cm card and give me lots of beautiful sky.   Grumbles from the cameraperson LOL.  If you click on the photo it should get bigger so you can see the lovely embossed scene details.  Plenty of room for a die cut sentiment up there in the sky, when I decide what I want to say......

Thanks for dropping by.
Hope to see you over at Let's Squash It!  Hugz

All Wrapped Up

Hello.  Welcome.  I couldn't resist colouring up this cute penguin from Ocean Heart Hobby and added her to an embossed background for a quick and fun card.

I used Nellie Snellen Snowy Stairs embossing folder on a piece of pale blue card.  I smeared the embossed detail with dark blue ink and cut with a stitch rectangle die.  Ocean Heart Hobby 003 Penguin was stamped with black Brilliance ink, fussy cut and coloured with distress inks.  I added the penguin to the scene and also stamped the Vinterklem (winter hug) sentiment from the same stamp set in dark blue ink.

Cowboy Rock

Hello Nomad friends.  Hope you are managing to keep cool.  It's so toastie I think I might be melting.

I used this cute little Nellie Snellen cowboy, stamped and embossed on gold base card.  I coloured with Promarkers and added some rhinestones, one to his hat, one to his scarf and one to the bridle.  I cut the bottom of the card so it rocks, added glitter to the curved edge and horse's mane and tail.  I stamped and embossed MFT Saddle Up and Celebrate sentiment.  Yee haw!!

Stargazing Guest Elfing Giveaway

Hello Nomad friends.  Is the sun a bright, shining ball of fire with you too??  We have been enjoying seeing so much of it the last few weeks.

That said, I'm guest elfing over at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge this month and the new theme is Bunnies!!  I have a sneeky suspicion that the lovely Jo was thinking of me a bit with this one!  I love my bunnies, and it was my birthday yesterday, so in the spirit of birthday's I have a little giveaway.  Bunny themed of course!!  But first, my card.........

Squueeee!!   When I saw this stamp I couldn't resist.  It's called Falling Star by Nellie Snellen and I loved the cute bunny pulling his little reindeer on a sleigh.  I cut the card base using Stamplorations Double Stitch Rectangle die.  I used an embossing folder for the snowflakes and sentiment at the top of the card and tinted them with Stormy Sky distress ink.  I stamped the bunny onto the card and coloured with Promarkers and gel pens.  I smeared more Stormy sky for the ground and added glitter.  Some more glitter on bunny's hat and a gold star brad to cover the stamped falling star. To finish I found a tiny white with sliver tinsel pom-pom and added it for bunny's tail.

OK, here's what's on offer.  The cute bunny stamp and embossing folder I used on my card.  For your chance to win please leave me a comment including the magic word BUNNY.  If you link up a bunny/hare themed card over at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge then pop back and leave another comment with your entry number for an extra chance or three.  You know how it is with bunnies!!  Giveaway will close May 6th.
Check out my hat!!!  Might have to get some bunny ears on that!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Stay tuned for more bunny fun and more giveaways, probably involving bunnies!!!  Hugz

Snowy Village

Hello.  Welcome.  I went through a phase of buying embossing folders that were scenes, rather than patterns.  This one is Nellie Snellen's Snowy Stairs which I never used.  A very nice scene that gives a quick card.

I embossed a blue card and then sponged on some white ink to highlight the embossing.  I stamped Merry Christmas twice on white paper with blue ink, ripped the edge and added it to the bottom of the card.  I spritzed with W&N iridescent medium to make it sparkle.
