Hearts and Baubles

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh, the last of the month.  Maybe there is still time to join a last few challenges.  I made another Christmas bauble card and I've used Hunkydory toppers for the main image.  Perhaps I should set myself a challenge to use some of these every month.  Stay tuned...........

I used a silver base card and added a navy scrap panel embossed with a hearts embossing folder.  I found some silver scrap and cut with a bauble die and embossed with a sizzix christmas jumper type folder.  I used the bauble die to cut a hanger for the Hunkydory circle and arranged everything in an ascetically pleasing manner with some pretty wool strings.

A Little Basket Of Tags

Hello Nomad friends.  I've been playing with some pretty papers and made this basket of tags.

I used Laserowe Love Winter Fun papers.  I think I bought these cos they looked cute and fun and I enjoyed fussy cutting the penguins and deers from the printed sheets.  The little blue stripey pieces are scraps from the back of the penguin/deer sheet.  Waste not waste not I say.......

Put this big deer on the other side of the basket.  I used Stamploration dies for the tags.

I Scream See Son

Hello Nomad friends.  Big grill party today.  Hope the rain keeps away.  At least it's warm.  Perfect season for ice-creams.

I made an ice cream shaped card using sizzix dies.  Isn't it cute!!   The sentiment is from Rubber Dance Playful Penguins set.

Not sure what flavour ice cream that is but I added this cute little ice cream charm with an ice lolly dangle

Did a little inside work as well cos every ice cream should have a penguin inside.

It's Penguining To Look A Lot Like Cake Time

Hello Nomad friends.  Lots of Easter fun going on with some of the Norwegian groups and one of them wants a birthday card with an non-traditional birthday stamp.  So I decided to go with penguins, like you do.  Everyone loves penguins!   Why relegate them to Christmas!!   Especially when they have cake and chocolate tea!!!!!

I cut my card base from a piece of fancy edge bazzill.  I decided the large scallops were fun and added a mid green layer.  Then I embossed a piece of cream card with Darice birthday embossing folder and liberally smeared with Twisted Citron distress ink.  I cut an ATC, dusted with emerald and lime green brusho powder and spritzed with water.  When it was dry I embossed it with the same folder, added the magical birthday stamped panel and that cute penguin, stamped, coloured and fussy cut.  I added the atc to the centre of the card and a couple of stamped, coloured and fussy cut Poppystamp Love Note penguins as additional support at the bottom.

Open sesame!!!  Why sesame???  Anyway, I digress.........
Inside we have a pocket made with an offcut of the bazzill scallop edge card, more Poppystamp penguins and the guy in the middle is fetching the cake!!!   I grounded the penguins on some grass die cut from some green card with gold paint splatts.  The penguins are coloured with Promarkers.  The tea is chocolate and very tasty............

Penguins Party

Hello Nomad friends.  Merry Boxing Day!!   I hope you had an awesome Christmas and are enjoying your day.  Did Santa bring you crafty goodies???   I treated myself to the Gummiapan dies advent calendar, which I have done for a few years now, and because I like the fun to last I'm on the special extended 31 days version.  Yes, it's well worth the money, if you like dies and Gummiapan.

This is obviously a magic door set into a huge snowball by a secret society of albino penguins!!!!!  Terry Pratchett would have had a good name for it!!

The door was in the 2023 calendar, as was the ring I built my wreathe on.  The wreath, too big for the door so dismantled and reassembled, and bushes from last year's calendar and the penguins and bow are standard dies available anytime.  All the calendar dies are only available in the calendars.

Pedro is a Star

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm starting to get that end of the month feeling.  Challenges to enter and not many days left to do it.  But me and Mr Mojo decided to take advantage of a glum afternoon to make a few makes.  I found a new challenge this month so I thought I'd have a go at their fun lift.  Here's my card using Crafty Individuals stamps.......

I cut a mask using sizzix Primitive Star die and used distress ink to colour inside my star frame on a white card base.  With the mask still in place I blotted with a damp cloth through a star stencil to remove some of the ink and stamped with Crafty Individuals Star Background.  I stamped Crafty Individuals Pedro on white card with black archival, fussy cut and added him to the card.

Ho Ho HO!!!!

So here's my card.

I used Darice Retro Circles Embossing folder and Stamplorations Swirly Blooms stencil in the background.  Then I added Papercuts Penguin Sledding Edger die cut from green and white scraps.

Tag

Hello Nomad friends.  Still deep into tag making with Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags event.  This one was inspired by Karin's card on day 2.  I found a scrap of card on my desk that was blue with white embossing.  I tried using a star pattern stencil, versamark and white embossing powder and wasn't keen on the result, but die cut with a circle die it made a nice round panel for my tag.

I die cut the tag with Stamplorations Stitched tag die and the round panel with a stitch circle die.  I edged the circle and stamped Rubber Dance Don't open before Christmas Eve sentiment with dark blue dye ink.  I added some glitter glue to the snowy top of the letters.  The very cool penguin is from Norwegian company Ocean Heart Hobby, stamped, coloured with distress markers and fussy cut.  A little blue and white bakers twine to finish.

Penguin Holiday

Hello Nomad friends.  The rain came and cooled us all down a bit so I am feeling much less like a melting popsicle.  The garden is growing well and we are picking strawberries!!  Nam nam, must be summer.   The Card Chain Challenge 3000 cards celebration is over and the winners have been announced.  Thanks to everyone who played along and thanks to the fabulous sponsors.  Today is the 2nd, so time for the June reveal.  I made this summer card and sent it on it's way to Jutta in Canada.

I kinda went sketch, friend, CAS and the beach.  This Art Impressions penguin is so fun and I used a black scrap and die for the palm tree.  The aloha (yellow scrap) and stitched rectangle panel are Stamplorations dies.  The blue strip was a scrap too.  The penguin was stamped, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.

Check out the June reveal and if you would like to join the fun the July Sign Up is open until the 6th July.

Long Island Iced Tea

Hello Nomad friends.  Let's do tea!!   Ahoy, ship mates, land ho!!  Not sure this works but it was an idea.  My friends got married in Hawaii so I think this will be a suitable xmas card for them.  It's all Jo's fault cos over at the Christmas Kickstart challenge it all about Christmas Cheer, in particular alcoholic cheer......

So, my idea was Long Island Iced Tea.  There's a long island, courtesy of Gina K Island stamps.  And there's the crazy ocean going penguin filled tea cup!!!  I stamped The Cats Pyjamas Ship Happens tea cup stamp, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  I added glitter to the sail and spoon and also to the inside of the cup.  It is Iced Tea after all!!!  The sentiment is from the Cats Pajamas Polar Holiday set.   I used Stamplorations Snowy Stitched hill die and edged it with blue ink to look wave-ish and also inked the bottom of the card with the same blue ink to see like sea.

I Got That Elfin Feeling

Hello Nomad friends.   Feeling much more mysELF today and was inspired to ink up this stamp the lovely Jo sent me.  Penguins!!!!   Lots of.  But actually one less than was on the stamp, cos I only wanted 5.   This is a reminder that I am elfing at the Christmas Kickstart challenge this month and it's anything penguin and christmas.  And this stamp is the prize!!  Well, not this actually stamp, cos this one is mine, all mine, bwahahahhaaaa, but one very like it.

So I masked off one penguin before stamping the rest of the gang on a panel of patterned paper.  The 'from all of us' is part of the stamp, so I just found a merry christmas in a similar font to add above it.  I used a red gel pen on hats and scarves and orange on beaks and feet.  I used picket fence distress ink on their hats and also along the bottom of the card to tone down the 'snow'.  Love that little dude in the middle.

Penguins On Parade

Hello.  Welcome.  I am honoured to have been asked by the lovely Jo to elf for her first Christmas Kickstart Challenge of 2020.

OK, we are a day early, but lets not miss a beat!!  I am so glad Jo has decided to run another year of CKC.  It really helped me with my Christmas card stash.  Due to logistics, time management, and in the interests of having a little time for the finer things in life, CKC will be going monthly until July, at which point we will realise that Christmas is approaching on rapid reindeer feet, and then it will revert back to a fortnightly challenge.  So you have a month to kick your xmas mojo back into gear and show us your Penguin Parade cards.  Here's mine.......

This cute little fellow is from a Norwegian company called Ocean Heart Hobby.  The postage stamp and stars dies are both from Gummiapan.  Blue patterned card from Kort og Godt.  I edged the postage stamp die cut and coloured the stars frame with Indigo Blue Promarker.  Penguin is coloured with distress markers.  The sentiment is also from the Penguin set and says A Winter Hello.

Don't forget to grab a penguin, make a card and join the fun at the Christmas Kickstart challenge and make a start on your 2020 Chrimbo cards.

The Future is Penguin

Hello Nomad friends.  Today I am moving into the future and predicting starry skies and penguins for christmas eve.

I've made a title card for a PL layout using a 3x4 journal card, Ocean Heart Hobby 003 Penguin and some die cut stars

I started with this 3x4 Teresa Collins journal card.  I knew I wanted a starry night look so I used a yellow Promarker and coloured the area outside the balloon journalling area.

I stamped Ocean Heart Hobby 003 Penguin with archival ink and coloured with purple, grey, yellow and orange Promarkers.

I added the penguin to the coloured card, die cut Sizzix Stars from gold glitter card and stamped the Julaften (Christmas Eve) sentiment with Dandelion archival ink.
