A Matter Of Perception

Hello Nomad friends.
I want to give a coffee gift so made a giant tag to go with it.

I cut a dark blue tag using Stamplorations large Stitched Tag die and stencilled with Salty Ocean DOX through Stamplorations Retro Circle stencil.  I die cut the Stamplorations Coffee Can Fix Everything sentiment from blue card and added the vintage boy fussy cut from a Kort og Godt printed sheet.  Some stripey wool and ready to go!

Crafting Away the UFO's

Hello Nomad friends.  It's a warm drizzly day today.  So I decided I would attack my desk this afternoon and try and get rid of some of the UFO's, unfinished objects, that litter the surface like moon rocks on the moon.  I keep turning up some shaving foam backgrounds I made ages ago so decided I needed to do something with at least one of them.

I grabbed a square pre-embossed DCWV base card and smeared the embossing with Spun Sugar distress ink.  I cut the brusho/shaving foam background with square stitch dies and added a little stamping with PaperArtsy HP1105 grungy stamp and green archival ink.  I stamped PaperArtsy HP1105 steampunk dragonfly with black ink and added glitter glue.  I arranged it all in an ascetically pleasing manner and used a small offcut and Lost Coast Designs Happy Birthday stamp for the sentiment strip.

Girl Talk

Hello Nomad friends.  Me again with another tag.  Still playing with my Gummiapan stamps and I am sure you ladies can associate with this sentiment.

Another 6 x 12cm tag, but I was inspired by another tag I saw to clip three corners round.  Cute shape.  I stamped the girl, masked her and the ground with a ripped piece of paper, stamped the trees and sentiment and blended distress inks in the background.  Then I removed the masks and coloured the girl with distress markers.

Dylan Plays Tag

Hello Nomad friend.  The rain stopped, the sun came out.  It's hot out there people.  And humid.  I did take advantage of yesterday's rain to do a little crafting.  I made this cute little 6 x 12cm tag using Gummiapan stamps.  Small tags are a great way to use up offcuts and scraps LOL.

For the background I used Gummiapan Dotty Grid, Distressed Circles and small Open Heart stamps with various archival ink colours.  I stamped the tiny hello on a narrow scrap and fishtailed the ends.  Dylan (I think he's called Dylan LOL) was stamped on another scrap, fussy cut and I used a red gel pen to colour his heart and glasses.  I found some pink dotty ribbon and also stamped an fussy cut one of the hearts to add a little extra love.

Industrial Chic Santa

Hello Nomad friends.  They say the camera never lies, but it's not true!!!  This card looks quite lovely in the real but that red foil base card really gave my camera the heebee geebee's.

This angled shot shows the lovely detail on the santa die cut.  I used Creative Expressions Industrial Chic Background and Flying Santa dies which I cut from scraps of red card.  I have lots of red scraps!!!  I cut the santa 4 times and layered them up for a nice chunky look.  Plus 4 times the scraps used!!!  Win win.  I used Carnation archival ink to add a little extra interest to the die cuts.

Take care.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Cool Summer Breezes

Hello Nomad friends.  Hot, hot, hot here, but rain, thunder and lightning forecast bwahahahahaa.  There has been much gardening and little crafting recently, but I am quite inclined to maritime images at the moment so made this card using a fuzzy lemon lighthouse scene die cut.

Used blue scraps for the vertical panels and Salty Ocean distress ink, blended for the ombre effect on the two outside panels and used on the middle one with  Stamplorations Retro Circles stencil.  I cut the white panel with Stamplorations Double Crazy Stitch Rectangle die and the lighthouse die cut from another blue scrap and edged with Salty Ocean again.  The sentiment is from Memory Box Oceanside Typewriter Sentiments stamp set.

Elephant Greetings

Hello Nomad friends.  I have a quick and simple card using Carmen's Veranda's adorable small Baby Elephant over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today for the Critters Challenge

No colouring, except for the bow and edging, as I used my patterned card to good effect.  I stamped the Baby Elephant on a piece of slightly grungy patterned card with black archival ink.  Then I cut around her feet and trunk, edged with a black marker and glued a piece of brick patterned card below as a wall for her to peek over.  We know it's a her cos I borrowed a bow from Carmen's Veranda's Reindeer Doll, stamped, coloured pink and red and fussy cut.  Perfect size for this little elephant.   I edged the panel and the card base in pink and stamped the sentiment from Lost Coast Designs Party Words set.  Have you seen the party words set???  So many of the sentiment would go great on this card; Happy Birthday, Congratulations, Thinking of you, Happy Everything, It's a Party, You're invited, Don't Worry, Be Happy etc etc.

Join the Critters challenge for a chance to win and don't forget to check out all the awesome inspiration from the team on the blog, and all the fun in the fb Fangroup.  Would love to see a few more of my bloggy friends in the Lost Coast Designs linky.  Any critter, but do remember we are a real rubber/clear stamp challenge.

Beep Beep Bling Bling

Hello Nomad friends.  It's time for a little more inspiration for the current Let's Squash It! challenge, any embossing folder and use a shimmery/blingy medium

I decided to try the double emboss technique. I used Sizzix Arrows embossing folder, Wow! Cloud 9 embossing powder (NBUS) and Art by Marlene Roadtrip stamp (NBUS).  I embossed turquoise card with the Arrows folder, used a blue ink pad to give some extra contrast on the arrows, then versamark and the embossing powder.  Bling!!!!  I stamped the cute lady in the car, coloured with sharpies and fussy cut.  I stamped a TH sentiment on a vellum strip to finish.

Dig out those shimmery shiny mediums, get squashing and join the fun.

Thanks Scrappegarasjen

Hello Nomad friends.  There are many reason to like living in Norway.  A big one this weekend was an online scrapmeet organised by Scrappegarasjen.  I haven't seen anyone outside of Norway talking about such things but the Norwegian shops and groups have been keeping us entertained many times in the last 15 months when it hasn't been possible to have real in person meetings.  My sanity and my Mojo have been saved many times by these fun and awesome events.  This meeting was concentrating of Norwegian stamp and die producers which was really cool.  Here's two of the cards I made this weekend.

This card used Kort og Godt stamps.  Lots of em.  I had the big dog stamp and I bought a second one that had different sentiments and came with a smaller slightly different dog.  But today I decided they would look cool together!  I stamped the two smaller dogs first, masked them and then stamped the one in the middle.  I wanted a peeking over the wall look so.......

I drew a faint pencil line so I could get the dogs stamped at the same level and stamped them inside my Kort og Godt patterned card base.  Then I cut the front of the card so the 'wall' folds over them.  I masked all the dogs to stamp the snowflake background.  I coloured the dogs with distress markers.  All stamping with different colour archival inks.  The sentiment says with wishes for a magical christmas.

On the front panel I stamped Ho Ho Ho and do not open til xmas eve, which seemed funny and appropriate.

My second card uses Papirdesign patterned papers, sticker sentiment and dies.

Two different people we know were off this weekend fishing for salmon, so a fishy card seemed appropriate.  I used Papirdesigns Fiskestenger designer paper and football pattern and fish dies.  I always think that football pattern die looks like a net so.......  The sticker was white, but I coloured it with Promarker to match my cool blue colour scheme, and I added a tiny patterned card scrap along the bottom as a fun design element.

The Smart Blue Fox Didn't Bother Jumping Over Anyone Cos It Was Just Too Hot For That Sort Of Nonsense

Hello Nomad friends.  Just needed a quick card for a young man who likes foxes and the colour blue.  Well, what's not to like!!  Turned out not so quick cos my blue card didn't like my distress markers, and I stamped the fox at the bottom and the sentiment above and it made my eyes hurt!!  Chopping the panel into two fixed that and became a design opportunity, and stamping colouring and fussy cutting the fox fixed the distress disaster.  Fixed!!!

Love this little fox from Papirdesigns, Revestreker.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and says Hurrah, it's your birthday.  Actually really liking that split panel solution.

Swimming Star

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 10th of the month and time for the new challenge at Let's Squash It!  This month we want you to use any embossing folder and a medium to make it shimmer and/or shine.  No, not a clairvoyant!  A craft medium such as coloured/gilding wax, mica based powders such as perfect pearl, glitter glue, sparkly or shimmery paints etc etc etc.   Gotta admit, well out of my armchair for this one.  I have these mediums, a surprizing number of them, and some of them are even still in good shape!!!  But I don't use them so much.  Never have.  Might now.  Anyway, here goes...........

I embossed a pale blue mini-skinny card twice with Sizzix Simple Impressions Stars embossing folder.  These are the clear acetate folders with a brass stencil and a matching plastic moulded panel to give the positive impression.  If you have never heard of em that's OK, I am showing my age!!!  I have a few of this style of folder, but I think they went out, like Betamax and the dinosaurs........

I used a paper towel to apply purple gilding wax.  I worked the wax from the middle of the card, up and down, leaving it feathery at the edges and over the embossed areas so some of the base card colour shows through.

I added some Signature Net Corners die cuts and stamped and fussy cut Lost Coast Designs Swimsuit Girl.  As our guest this month at Let's Squash It! said, it's difficult to photo this shimmery stuff, but it does look rather cool in the real.

Hop over and join the Let's Squash It! fun and check out the awesome Technique Time post by Jo and the lovely challenge inspiration from the team and our fabulous guest.  See you there.......

Little Sailor

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm having great fun working in shades of turquoise and cutting out these fun vintage images from Kort og Godt printed sheets.

The ornament with circle pattern and sentiment, You Are #1, are cut with Kort og Godt dies.  I inked the circle die cut with Salty Ocean distress ink and cut the top of the card round with scissors.

Career Choice : Lumberjack

Hello Nomad friends.  I always fancied being a tree surgeon.  Or a vet.  Or maybe an astronaut.  Ah well.  For these ATC's I cut Gummiapan Trees stamp in two so trees became tree and fitted my chosen sentiment simply perfectly.

I cut three Artist Trading Cards from turquoise card using a die.  I stamped the larger Gummiapan fir tree using archival inks in green and thistle.  Then I stamped Gummiapan's Dear Santa sentiment.  Some glitter glue sparkles on the tree and done.

'Dear Santa Just leave the credit card under the tree'

Tiger's Christmas Tree

Hello Nomad friends.  It's Christmas!  In July!!

I am elfing out at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge this month for the Woolly, Fluffy or Furry challenge and, since I'm also posting today over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for the Christmas In July Challenge, I thought I'd share a particular Lost Coast Design furry that I love!!  Say hi to AUD Tiger.  AUD's animals and people are always a bit quirky and Tiger is no exception.  Here he is, decorating his tree.

I've kept it simple, but I would like to draw your attention to the base card....

I started with a green patterned card base but I wanted to jazz up the edges a bit so I inked Tiger's tree with Library Green archival ink and stamped it randomly around the edge.  Lovely extra texture.

I used a pale grey panel and cut it with a Stamplorations Double Stitch Rectangle die.  I blended some green shades of distress ink at the bottom.  I stamped AUD Tiger and Lost Coast Designs Party Words Merry Christmas in black archival and edged the panel and base card with green Promarker.  I coloured the tree green and added a few green and white gel pen highlights to the tiger.

Thanks for dropping by.  If you have that Christmas feeling and your cards contain Woolly, Fluffy or Furry things then join the fun at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge.  If the spirit of Christmas is moving your mojo and your make uses really rubber or clear stamps then hop on over to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and link up with the Christmas In July Challenge.  Where ever you play, stay cool, chill out and don't forget to jingle.

Bunny Loves Cheese

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the second of the month so time for the June Card Chain Challenge reveal.  24 cards went winging their way around the planet this month using at least one of the many options provided.  I used the colours, Sky, Sunrise and Bark, or in my case Bunny LOL, and stitching, in my case faux stitches provided by these lovely dies by Creative Expressions.  My card is hopping it's way to Marga in Spain this month.  Hop faster bunny!!!!!!

I made a happy summery card.  I blended Ripe Persimmon on my card base and cut the blue layer with Creative Expressions Solar Circles background die.  The bunny and sentiment were cut from scraps using Creative Expressions Stitched Say Cheese Craft Die.

Hop over to the Card Chain Challenge and check out all the amazing cards that were exchanged in June.

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh, toasty here today for the 1st day of July and over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we are chilling and starting the month with a Christmas In July challenge.  Share your stamped Christmas themed projects. Real rubber or clear stamping and the theme must feature prominently on your design for a chance to win Lost Coast $$$$$'s.  I decided to wheel out Lost Coast Designs gorgeous Mistletoe Goth.

I used Lost Coast Designs Mistletoe Goth, Small Snowflakes and Party Words.  I used red Bazzill card for the base and the panel, both edged with black ink.  I stamped a border of the small snowflakes and embossed with silver powder on the red panel.  I stamped Mistletoe Goth on white card with black archival ink and added some gel pen colour and much glitter glue, fussy cut her and added her to the card.  A Merry Christmas stamped in black and we are done!!!
