Cake, Paint and Glitter

Hello.  Welcome.  PaperArtsy have a painty theme going on.  Well, going on for at least a few more minutes LOL.  I saw this post by Anneke and loved the colours and the texture she got.  Here's my take.....

I followed Anneke's directions using GP with PS007 and generic acrylic paint.  Love the texture with the plasterboard tape.  I used a small heart and  a bubble stamp with black and white paint.  Then I stamped an image from LPC007 and splashed about some watercolours.  I fussy cut her and added her to the background.  She looks a little sad!  And unfinished.

So I ripped a mask from paper to protect the center of my card and used black acrylic around the edges.  Then I used some of the plaster board tape and some gold acrylic to stamp on the black.

Pumpkins Everywhere

Hello.  Welcome.  A special hi to Michelle A who has joined our wandering band.  Gosh October.  Gosh, orange and purple and black everywhere.  Show us your Halloween thing.  Give us some Autumn colours.  You just got to love it.  Or maybe you don't?  Ah well.....  I love the colours at this time of year.  Green is very nice but Nature is going all out in a final flamboyance and it's just so gorgeous.  I've made an ATC using the most cutest and not at all scary monster.

This is Little Hoo Hoo from Stampotique.  I cut a black ATC, added some orange tape.  Is all tape Washi tape? or is washi a brand?  Like, all pumpkins are squash but not all squash are pumpkins.  I digress.  The BOO is Sizzix Phrase Boo cut from yellow foam.  I was going to make a stamp but when I lined it up it seemed to fit so.....   My monster is stamped in black on orange.

My Little Hoo Hoo is joining the fun at, gosh so many places he could join the fun,

A Little CAS

Greetings.  Welcome.  Have you had a grey and generally yukky day?  I hope not but here it felt more like November today.  I did try and do a bit out in the garden but just wasn't inspired and once I got wet I decided that I'd done enough and it was time to craft......

I decided to make some tape using masking tape.  I used various inks, Distress, VersaMagic, Memento.  Stamps from Crafty Individuals, Lawn Fawn and unknown others.

I've used a cream card base and blended some DI.  The keen ones amongst you will note the uneven top here verses the straight one in the next picture.  That's because I'm messy!!  I had to redo the whole thing when I didn't check my stamps hadn't picked up extra ink around the edge!!  So on the next attempt I decided I wanted a straight line.

I had stamped the bird pair but they seemed to be just hanging there and then I saw this card by Laurie and decided to try and add a sentiment to take the line across the card.  Pleased, except for that silly little heart I thought would be cute to join the two words!! I told you I can't draw.......

Anything? Really?

OMG you have got to try this, seriously, this is such fun.  What, oh yeah!!  Hello followers and friends.  Welcome.  But really, you have got to try this.

Over at PaperArtsy Darcy is strutting her stuff and WOW.  Go check it out.  She made washi tape.  Yeah, so, I hear you say.  It looks pretty amazing but once you have a go......  I think it needs a government health warning on the chances of addiction.  The world will be covered in home made tape!!

OK, here's my first attempt.  I used, from the top, double sided tape, carpet tape, drafting tape, masking tape.  The double sided and the carpet tape have a layer of tissue applied on one side.  See Darcy's fab tutorial.  Then I painted and stamped.  Hee hee fun art!

This double sided tape is very thin.  Won't use this again.  I like the colours and the bottle from LPC001 looks great but had difficulty getting this off the mat in one piece after painting and stamping.

The carpet tape is super thick double sided tape and it is excellent for this technique.  These are two of the panels from the carpet tape masterpiece.  Sorry but I just love this.   I painted this tape with dark blue and then brayered on some pale blue.  Then stamped LPC022 modern girl in black.  The brayer wasn't loaded evenly so I got this variation in colour and the white patch is where I got impatient and tried to play before the paint was dry and lifted a thumb load of paint and tissue off the tape. The original plan was to cut it into thin strips after so I had a strip of eyes and a strip of lips but I just love it too much.   Instead I looked around my craft room and decided it had to go above the door.

Door jam art.  Fantastic.  I think I shall have to make a longer piece so it goes all the way across.  Over at Simon Says it's anything goes.  Really, even door jam art??  Well why not indeed.......

This old drafting tape has almost lost it's sticky but these two stamps from SIDD05 look great on the lilac.

On the masking tape I went orange and stamped a background using the two small stamps from LPC022.  Then I stamped modern girl again in black, thought that was too bold and used red instead.  That gave an almost ghostly effect.  Can you see her??  So cool.

Thanks Darcy for this inspiration.  Such a fun technique.  I may be inspired to do a little decorating.....
