Duck Billed Friends

Hello.  Welcome.  Thinking of and sending hugz to Australia.  Seeing lots of koala's.  Here's one of our less represented antipodean friends.  I love Platypus.  They are just AWESOME!!  I imagine they are taking a beating in the fires, and since they nest underground......   Hoping you get rain soon.  Will try to send some of ours your way....

I used Honey Bee Stamps Penny paper piecing die and various bits from scrap mountain.  The bill and feet were cut from some fluffy stuff I found.  I gave her a gold metal heart charm from Korthobby.no to have and to hold.   The sentiment is a Paperartsy stamp (ding and dong set) and I used a preprinted base card from DCWV?  Penny is just so cute!!!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Leave me an awesome comment and have an awesome day.  Hugz.

Let's Be Awesome

Hello.  Welcome.  The start of a new month, year, decade and people talk about looking back, looking forward, resolutions and words for the year.   I don't usually subscribe to much of this cos I figure if you don't make it too concrete then there's less pressure and if it happens, it happens, and if it doesn't then nothings broken.  Laid back me.  But I am starting to think that I do have a word this year.  It keeps cropping up.  I keep using it.  So I have decided to adopt it as my own.  So this year's word is AWESOME.   It's gonna be an awesome year, filled with awesome things and awesome people, and of course, I am going to be awesome too.  Wait, I already am!!  And so are you!  So let's all be awesome together.

Grabbing a load of scraps from Scrap Mountain I stamped Papersmooches Chubby Friends Owl with Sky Blue archival and added some colour with Distress markers.   I die cut him a hat (borrowed from a snowman) and coloured it with distress inks.  The branch is part of Sizzix Deer die (the one with the wreath).  I cut extra flowers, added colour with Promarkers and silver glitter and a rhinestone in each flower.

52 Weeks to Christmas are celebrating their 5th anniversary and want to see 5 of something on your christmas cards.  I used 4 flowers on the branch and another on his hat, each with a rhinestone.  The sentiment is a Kort og Godt stamp and means warm Christmas hugs.

The base card is Kort og Godt patterned card and if I may direct your eyes towards the bottom of the card I used a Fiskars Border Punch to add some fancy detail.  I think this one is called Lace.  It actually cuts a fancy edge and the bit at the bottom falls away.  I decided to back the fancy detail with a scrap of blue card and return the bit that was cut off, cos I know me and if I didn't use it then it would only hike over to scrap mountain!!   A scrap instantly generated and used!!   Awesome!!!!!!

Four Plus One

Hello.  Welcome.  After trying to find space for the few crafty things I got for Christmas I am yet again trying to use the unused and scrap mountain.   I just saw that 52 Weeks of Christmas challenge are celebrating their 5th anniversary.  I only recently found this site but I thought I'd join up cos use 5 of something sounded like a good challenge.

I have succeeded in using up a couple of dark blue scraps, but the Sizzix deer scandanivian knit dies were new Christmas additions.  But at least they ain't unused anymore so SCORE!!!!!  I've used the woodland deer die before.  We take our pleasure where we can LOL.  The base card is Kort og Godt patterned paper.  I used a small punch for the star then scored and folded it to add some dimension.

Cat and Mouse Games

Hello Nomad friends.  I have some very QACAS cards over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today.  I'm using the new Lost Coast Designs Yoga Cats and Carmen's Veranda's Frozen Internet sentiment.  Here's one of the cards I made.

These cats are killing me!!  So cool and fun.  Hop over to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity to check out the other two cats joining this class!!

I stamped Yoga Cat 4, I think he looks like a Cyril?, and the sentiment on grey woodgrain paper then added a little Spun Sugar distress ink to his ears and nose.  Done!!!!

A Girl on a Swoosh

Hello.  Welcome.  Today I am over on the Colourcraft blog with a card using Brusho's, Aztec Paint and die cuts.  The season of love is approaching and the Colourcraft team are exploring New and Love this month.  I tried a new to me technique; using a mask and Brusho powder to make a background.

I used Scarlet Brusho powder for the background and Copper Aztec paint to dry brush the card I used for the Heart Swoosh, a Poppystamp die.  I also cut Poppystamps Pearched Fairy in black card, no wings this time, and the Thinking of you is a Joy Clair stamp stamped with archival ink.

Do pop over to the Colourcraft blog for all the details and don't forget to check out all the amazing and varied inspiration from the team.

Bunny Hugs

Hello.  Welcome.

I used a gold card base and the girl with the bunny is a Tilda papercut.  These come printed and precut, and she even has some glitter highlights.  I die cut the heart from red card and stamped the Right at Home Bunny Hugs sentiment with black archival ink.  Then I embossed with a hearts embossing folder and added a little colour with red archival ink.

Two Hearts Are Better Than One

Hello Nomad friends.  Batten down the hatches there's a storm coming.  Luckily Mr Mojo and I are cosy in the craft room.  I was looking at CASology's Branch challenge and remembered I have this lovey Designs by Ryn Flowing Branches stencil.  I decided it would go well with Poppystamps Perched Fairy.

I stenciled the branch using my new toothbrush style blending brush and Black Soot distess ink.   I cut the white panel with Gummiapan's Square Postage die, and also the red layers.  I die cut Poppystamps Perched Fairy and her wings from black card and arranged the postage panels and the fairy on my white base card.  I was going to add a sentiment but in the end opted to cut two small hearts using Poppystamps Shasta Oval Frame dies.  The two hearts are slightly different sizes and I layered them together before adding them to the fairy's chest to speak for themselves.
