You Sing It Son, I'll Play It

Hello Nomad friends.  I am over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity again with some more hatty fun.  I think hats are great, and I have a lot of stamps with images with hats, but if you don't, just add a hat to anyone or anything and join our Where's My Hat? challenge.

I started with a piece of Kort og Godt patterned card that had a subtle grid pattern and some blue dots on it.  I cut it with a pierced edge die and mounted on a mid blue card base.  I stamped one of Lost Coast Designs Pieces of Calligraphy stamps with blue ink and also the vertical Happy Birthday sentiment.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Monkey With Banjo on white card, coloured with distress markers, fussy cut and added him to my card.

I hope you get time to join the Where's My Hat? fun.  We need at least 20 entries to award the prize so tell your friends and add your stamped makes featuring headgear to the linky.

Flying Monkey Trouble

Hello Nomad friends.  I wasn't expecting to be posting again today but it seems the flying monkeys have escaped and run off with one of my designers.  I hear they dropped her in Finland and it's gonna be a few days before she will be able to get home.  So if you are in Finland keep your eyes open for the gals with the Lost Coast Designs stamps and say hi to them.

Don't you just love October!!  Pretty colours in the trees, bright moonlit nights, flying monkeys......

Oooh, monkey photo bomb!!!!!    Love Carmen's Veranda Monkey Face and there're all his Flying Monkey buddies in the background.  I used a foam circle and dandelion archival ink to stamp the moon and then watercoloured Monkey Face and the sky with distress inks.

Link up your Halloween inspired projects.  Anything related to the season, spooky, fruity, fun, scary or cute.  Real rubber or clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars$$$$.

Thanks for dropping by.  Off to put the monkeys to bed........  Hugz

Marmalade Monkey

Hello Nomad friends.  A new month and a new challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and it's all about the bling this fortnight.  I decided to break out some Wow sparkly embossing powder to use with Lost Coast Designs Tall Trees Background

I used Skylight embossing powder.  It is very sparkly!  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Monkey Face, coloured him with marmalade distress ink and green gel pens, fussy cut and added him to the bottom of the card.  I stamped the Hot and Sexy Birthday sentiment on vellum and backed it with a piece of white card before I stuck it to the card.

Happy New Year from Everyone

Hello Nomad friends.  I hope your 2023 is progressing nicely.  My craft room looks even more bombed than usual but I am determined to beat it into submission and dig out my creativity.  With that and the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Slimline Challenge in mind I decided to look through my stamps and select a few favourites to use.   Turns out I have way too many favourites, but after some deliberation, and a bit of push and shove, I became happy with this.

For this card I used lots of stamps, lots of masks and blue and black archival ink.  We have Lost Coast Designs ZZ Top Gnome 2 and Carmen's Veranda Monkey with a Banjo supplying the music, direction and artistic appreciation by Carmen's Veranda Alfred Hitchcock Standing and Salvador Dali, entertainment by Carmen's Veranda Kukla and Ollie, Lost Coast Designs Doodle Doll is supplying an element of mystery and the celebratory fly-by is courtesy of Lost Coast Designs Flying Pig.  I used a couple of the stamps from Lost Coast Designs Pieces of Calligraphy to fill in the empty spaces.

If you are stamping anything with real rubber or clear stamps and it's in a slimline format then maybe you might want to join the fun.   The team are posting awesome inspiration every other day so do hop over and check out their makes.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Charlie's Circus

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 8th of the month and I have a Technique Time post over at Let's Squash It! and this month it's all about sanding!    Pop on over and have a read and don't forget to come back on the 10th for the start of the September Let's Squash It! challenge.  That said, I couldn't not use one of the panels I made during my squashy experimenting and I've combined it with some stamps from Carmen's Veranda to supply a bit of Movie Mania inspiration at the same time!   Gotta love a little double bubble!!!!!

I've combined Carmen's Veranda Charlie Chaplin and Cuttlebug circus themed embossing folder to revisit his movie 'The Circus'

I embossed a bronze card slimline panel with the circus themed embossing folder and sanded to expose the black core.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Charlie Chaplin on some grey card with brown ink and fussy cut him.  I straight cut his hat to give a fez look, to match the middle monkey, and added a red tassel.  Then I added the Not My Monkeys sentiment which totally covered up my fez conversion!  Ah, well!!!!!

Join the Movie Mania fun for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars!!!!!

April Sing Along

Hello Nomad friends.  April!  One of my most favourite months.  Let's get this party started!!!!  Over at Lost Coast Designs the new challenge is Numbers, and incidently, Lost Coast Designs is also sponsoring the Mod Squad challenge where the theme is also Numbers!!!  Don't you just love serendipidoodousdipity!

So, numbers.  I started thinking 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... and then that song just popped into my head.  So I decided I needed someone to help us sing it and Carmen's Veranda Monkey with Banjo seemed to fit the bill!!!!  I used Lost Coast Designs License Plate Alphabet and started arranging numbers and letters.  Luckily it seemed to break up into nice sameish length lines.  I stamped 12345, and Once I and the Monkey on a white card base.  Then it started getting technical LOL.  Mask da monkey.  Then I arranged the next line of letters, stamped them, arranged the next line and stamped them.  Now, at this point I realised that Once I had actually caught a fish, yes just the once!  This struck me as pretty funny so I decided to stop the song there and instead make some ground.  I've used Carmen's Veranda small Face with Tongue, just the top of the stamp, and stamped it so it fit around the Monkey's legs and the letters in a pretty manner.

I love that that hand on a stick ended up where it ended up!!!  It's like, Once I caught a fish 'High Five' bwhahahaaahhahaaa.  Yes, I think it's gonna be a fun month.

Join the fun, leave some love, giving is more fun that getting.

Green Snow

Hello Nomad friends.  Taking a break from the blues with a green and red christmas card featuring Carmen's Veranda Monkey with a Banjo.  Hey! maybe we are still with the blues!  You play it, I'll sing it!!  That will be enough to get the baby crying LOL........

I've used Carmen's Veranda Monkey with a Banjo and Lost Coast Designs Small Snowflakes and Misc. Words stamps and Do-Crafts Candy Cane embossing folder.  Monkey was coloured with Promarkers and I also used a stitch rectangular die to cut the panel.

Strangely Tropical

Hello Nomad friends.  I've been playing with some Off The Edge stamping for the current Lost Coast Designs challenge.  It's quite liberating and also adds lots of interest to have things hanging off the edge and peeking into the card space.  Give it a go and link up your makes for a chance to win.  I've used Carmen's Veranda Monkey Face and Pineapple and Lost Coast Designs Sketchy Rose to make this tropical wonder.

Lots of stamp, mask, stamp, mask, stamp, mask, etc, etc involved here.  I used different colour archival inks for the stamping and brush markers to scribble a bit of colour.  It doesn't have to take hours or be perfect to be pretty.  Well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!!!!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Hello Nomad Friends.  There's a new challenge over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and it's gonna be such fun!!!  The title is Monkey See, Monkey Do and we want to see your stamped projects that feature a monkey and/or a repeat stamped image.  So dig out your monkeys, or stutter your stamping for a chance to win Lost Coast $$$$$'s.

I must say the team is loving this theme so do pop over and check out the makes.  Here's mine featuring Carmen's Veranda adorable Monkey with Banjo and Lost Coast Designs Party Words.

In case you missed it this is a birthday card!!

I decided I wanted a spring look so smeared Mowed Lawn and Ancient Amber distress OX on my craft mat, spritzed with water and smooched my white card in it.  I dried the ink and then repeated, cos we are all about repeating this fortnight LOL.  I did it again and declared myself happy.

I used Lost Coast Designs Grunge 3" Border off block with Mowed Lawn and Crushed Olive distress ink to randomly stamp bits of the pattern over the inked background.  This is a huge stamp with loads of interesting details.

I took the vertical Happy Birthday words from Lost Coast Designs Party Words set and stamped it repeatedly across my background using grey archival ink.  I also stamped it twice again with black archival.

Using a Stamplorations large rectangle double crazy stitch die I cut the background panel and, with a bit of fiddly cutting, the two side panels.   Everything got edged with Mowed Lawn distress ink.  I stamped Monkey with Banjo, coloured with distress markers and fussy cut.  He needed somewhere to stand, and just to make sure my message made it through, I stamped the horizontal Happy Birthday from the Party Words set on an offcut of my coloured panel and placed it along the bottom of the card.

Thanks for dropping by.  I really hope you feel inspired to dig out your monkey stamps, or do some repeat stamping, and join the fun at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  The linky is open until the end of the month.  See you there.  Hugz

Using Up the Leftovers

Hello.  Welcome.  So I was dressing up a die cut the other day with distress inks and used a scrap of paper to protect my desk.  At the end of the process the scrap was way too pretty to throw away so I made this card.

The background is my scrap, inked with Mustard Seed and Ripe Persimmon distress inks through Winnie and Walters Peppermint Zone Cutaway die cut.  I mounted it on a gold base card and used Stamplorations Snowy Stitched Hills dies to cut the same card and layered them at the bottom.  I stamped the elephant and monkey from W&W Big Hugs on grey card and added a little colour.  I cut a circle of yellow card using the pierced circle die from W&W Carly die set and edged it with Ripe Persimmon ink.  The 'for you' dies are also from the Carly set, and I decided to dress them up with orange flock stuff, which is why they look a bit furry.  Probably best not to say anything else about that........

Loons and Elephants

Hello.  Welcome.  Oh, the joys of midnight crafting Bwahahahaahahaa.  I have been following along with the Winnie and Walter Birthday Bash challenges and there are only two I haven't managed yet.  With the deadline looming I decided to have a go and see if I could rustle up a couple more ideas.   Idea 1 - Alter a stamped image with masking.  What a lark.  I may have made this much more difficult than needed.......

But worth the effort....

Take your stamp, in this case the elephant and monkey from Winnie and Walters Big Hugs set, and mask off the bit you don't want to stamp, before you ink the stamp.

Stamp you image.  Voila, elephant without an ear.

Mask the stamped image, not covering the missing ear of course.  Of course!!  Stamp the dog and cat and the sentiments from the Big Hugs set.  Colour with your medium of choice, in this case Promarkers, cut with Stamplorations double stitch rectangle die and mount on a dark grey card base,

Peppermint and Blue

Hello.  Welcome.  Back with the same colour scheme as yesterday and a few more cards featuring Winnie and Walter's Big Hugs stamp set.

All the card bases are Kort og Godt patterned card and also the grey woodgrain paper I stamped the animals on.  Here I cut a panel of the stripey mint Making Memories paper then used Winnie and Walters Carly Cutaway dies to cut the pierced circle.  I stamped the cute bears then added the sentiment (says Congratulations).

These are the card bases I made from 12 x 12 sheet.  I love that on the back of the makers label they have printed three sentiments.  These I have used on my three cards.  Isn't that a great idea!!  Nothing wasted.  Love it!

For this card I cut two triangles of the mint stripey paper and then used the circle I cut from the first card panel on top.  Love the pierced detail.  All the panels and the card bases have been edged with Midnight Blue ink.   Sentiment - Congratulations for the day.

I wanted to keep a circular element so I cut a frame using the Carly dies from the grey woodgrain paper.  I cut the stripe mint and some dark blue metallic card with Winnie and Walters Do You See What I See die and layered the three die cuts together.  Then I took some of the diamond negative cuts and added two rows of them down each side of the card.  Sentiment says - Have a Fantastic Day

Menagerie Set

Hello.  Welcome.  I have made a set of cards inspired by a design by Heather.  I liked the dotty patterned paper card base and the simple stamping on the panel.  So I cut up a 12 x 12 piece of patterned paper to make my card bases, and since I got three from one piece of paper I decided to make a set of three cards.

The patterned paper is from the Works.  I used Sizzix double stitch oval die to cut my panel and stamped the animals from Winnie and Walters Big Hugs clear stamp set.  Then I added a sentiment from Rubber Dance Just a Note (Norwegian sayings) to each panel.

Cute giraffes with a sentiment that means Thank You

Sweet bears with a sentiment that means Thinking of You

A cute elephant and monkey with a sentiment that says a little hello.
