Owl Be Home For Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  I was looking through some of my older posts and spotted this owl die that I haven't used in a loooong time.  So I decided it was time for it to shine again.

I cut Die-namites Festive Owls from green and white card.  I cut away the white owls, pushed out the negatives and coloured all the bits with Promarkers.  Then I put them back together and added the owls to the green die cut.  I added a load of red half pearls and a yellow circle behind them.  I gold embossed the Panduro sentiment on a textured green base card and added the owl die cut.  Done!!

Hello Nomad friends.  Let's party like it's not 2020!!!!!

I tink da llama has da right idea.  Party like there's no tomorrow.  Jada jada jada.

The green dotty paper is DCWV.  I embossed the green back panel with Sizzix Flower embossing folder.  The Llama and sentiment are from Taylored Expressions Looks Who's Talking stamp set.  Party Time!!!!

Hot, Hot, Hot

Hello Nomad friends.  It's been quite a nice day today.  No wind, no rain, some sun and I picked my first ripe tomato!!  This year hasn't been a very good year for the tomatoes here.  Everyone I have spoken too here has had no success with the toms.  Very curious as our friend Alice was wont to say.  Anyway, let's celebrate blue skies and fresh mountain air with a hot air balloon ride........

I used a summer blue sky base card and cut Poppystamps Stitch Grand Mountains from scraps of green and silver card.  I am sure there is still snow on big mountains in summer, but I was going for rock rather than snow.   I used Poppystamps Hot Air Balloons die cut from scraps of red, yellow and brown card.  I used a pencil to highlight the embossed lines on the balloons, add some texture to the baskets and join the baskets to the balloons.  The sentiment is cut from a designer paper sheet and says congratulations for the day.

Hello Nomad friends.  I am quite pleased with this simple christmas card I made today.  I used a panel of vintage music designer paper for the background and added Memory Box Frosted Christmas tree cut from christmas tree patterned paper.  A brown glitter card sentiment cut using Memory Box Merry Christmas Noted Script die and done!!!!!

The tree trunk/pot is just a little brown scrap I trimmed with scissors.

Gleeful

Hello Nomad friends.  It is always a happy moment when I can gleefully remove the empty Weetabix box from the breakfast table and scurry to my craft room to utilise that lovely dark kraft cardboard.   Today I am playing at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where the current challenge is Anything Goes!!!   Please remember that your anythings must also have hand stamping as the focus of the project to be eligible for the prize.  But that still leaves it pretty wide open.  I made a birthday card for a male friend using Lost Coast Designs fabulous Crackle Background and the wonderful Evil Eye.  He hasn't been out of the cupboard for a while, so he's a bit cranky, but he'd like to wish you all a very happy birthday!!!

Bwahahhahaaaaaaahahaa.  He's a little sweetie really.  I stamped the Crackle Background on a panel of the cereal box with Salty Ocean distress oxide and gave it a little spritz of water.  I stamped Evil Eye on another piece of the box, coloured with Promarkers and gel pens and fussy cut him.  The Happy Birthday was stamped with the Salty Ocean DOX, but it didn't stand out so well so I embossed with Baby Blue powder.
Happy Birthday bloke!!

Graffiti

Hello Nomad friends.  We have a friend visiting and he and my man are busy doing man things, which has given me the chance and inclination to create!!!!  A few UFO's have been lurking on my desk and I would love to get them finished.  But first, Build a Bear!!!

I'd forgotten what fun Die-versions Build an Animal die is.  It's a plate containing 30+ shapes that can be combined to make a number of different animals. Instructions for 10 different animals are included, but I am sure a creative soul could invent some of their own.  I also like that when assembled you get a nice big critter.  I went with the bear, using scraps of brown Bazzill and Weetabix box.  I also used the weetabix box for the letters, cut using Stamplorations Tall and Skinny dies.  I used a piece of grungy wall patterned card to make my base card and another scrap of some course cardboard cut with a stitch die for the ground.

I can't bear it!  He's so cute.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Let's Go To The Beach

Hello Nomad friends.  I hope you are all safe and well.  I love the sea.  The sound of the waves.  It always makes me feel calm and refreshed.

I stamped Crafty Individuals Seaside Treasures Background with Prickly Pear, Library Green and Colbalt archival inks, starting with the lightest and using less ink on the subsequent colours.   I distressed the edge of the panel with my craft knife and embossed the bottom with Emerald Creek Dirty Sand embossing powder.  I mounted the panel on a dark green base card.

I stamped the boy and girl from Crafty Individuals My Favourite Place, fussy cut and added them to the card.  The sentiment top left is from Crafty Individuals Call of the Sea set.

Chilly Hugz

Hello Nomad friends.  How you doing.   Do you schedule most of your posts???  I don't.  I usually write most of them and just publish when finished.  So the new blogger default to Set Date and Time (scheduled post) rather than automatic (when I hit the publish button) is actually a pain.  Especially since the set date and time picks up when you open a new post.  So if I started writing this post today, but finish it in three days and hit publish it will publish it at the time and date I started writing it, unless I remember to go in and change the publishing time.  Didn't have to do that before, so I'm calling it a dis-improvement.  I have sent feedback to new blogger to reset the default to automatic but it ain't happened yet so, if it is messing you up as well please take a minute to send em your feedback.  Thanks.  And now, some snow..........

It's that cute snowman dude again.  Decided to go blue this time.  Found this scrap of patterned paper with silver foiled snowflakes on it.  It also had a hole!!!  Thought moon, then decided to use it as a faux layer instead.  The word says Christmas Hug.

Size of an Elephant

Hello Nomad friends.  I made this fun elephant card using Sizzix Fold-A-Long Elephant die.

I've used mottled grey designer card over a dark grey base.

You cut this die on the fold of a 14x15cm card base.  I used the dark grey card.  Then I cut again from the mottled grey and started layering my elephants.  The directions only have one elphant head but I wanted two, cos the headless one didn't float my boat when the card was opened.  It does mean it doesn't lie quite so flat, but worth it me thinks.  I used a Stamploration Oh Frap! and some number dies on the main panel.  Then I stamped the happy birthday from Rubber Dance and made another little pop out feature.  Cool, or what!!!

Snowman Hugz

Hello Nomad friends.  It been a busy day gardening, baking, more gardening.  Wanted to round it off with a quick Christmas card using this really cute Kort og Godt Snowman.

Isn't he adorbs!!  I used a piece of snowy patterned card for my base card.  Added a piece of white card cut using Stamplorations Snowy Stitched Hill die and stamped the snowman to get the details.  Then I stamped him again on white card, coloured with Promarkers and glitter glue, fussy cut and added him to the card.  The sentiment is from the snowman set and says Sending a Christmas hug and hope it finds it's way.  OK, more poetic in Norwegian.

Coral the Cat

Hello Nomad friends.  Lots of fun happening at My Favourite Things.  I was inspired by the sketch and colour challenges.

I started with a pink base card, drew some lines with a brown ink joy pen and used a rose Promarker to make the darker pink shade.  I stamped the sentiment from MFT New Best Pal set with brown ink and stamped the girl from the same set on white card.  I coloured her with Promarkers, fussy cut and added her to the card.  Done!!!!

10 is an Amazing Number

Hello Nomad friends.  10.  Passing from childhood into adolescence.  Only a few years left until teenager.  Which is almost adult they like to think.  10.  A decade since they came into the world.  Doesn't time fly.  In the blink of an eye your baby is over half way to leaving the nest, getting married, driving a car!!  10.  A round number.  Let's celebrate.....

I started by making a card base from some balloon patterned paper.  My crafty friend Mia sent me this lovely Stampendous Gruffies Balloon Bear stamp.   Isn't it gorgeous.  Thanks Mia. I added a scrap of ripped patterned paper to the bottom of the card and stamped the Balloon Bear stamp with brown archival.  Then I stamped again on white card, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut the bear and balloon.  I stuck them on the card, added some Thickers numbers and a pre-printed sentiment strip from Kort of Godt.  It says Happy Birthday.

Fish Out Of Water

Hello Nomad friends.  I reverted to legacy blogger last night after having a frustrating time with the new dude on the block.  The save button is under the preview button, but why it doesn't mention if you are leaving your post that it hasn't actually saved changes I don't understand.  The fact that supposedly I had published the post I had just written, but when I viewed the blog it was just the title and labels.  Oh yeah labels......  don't get me started......   So after my post disappeared twice!! I decided to revisit tried and trusted blogger, and how nice it is to be back in this comfortable and cosy space.  I expect I will have a rude awakening and get turfed out again soon, but we can hope that maybe one of the geniuses in charge actually uses blogger.   Please feel free to share your experiences, any fixes or trick gratefully received.

Enough of that, today is the day for the July Card Chain Challenge Reveal.   We continue to send happy mail around the world.  Postal services seem to be getting a little better and some previously closed destinations are opening up.  Here's the card I sent to GerJanne in the Netherlands.

I went with the sketch, Under the Sea and Friendship options.  The beautiful circle stamp is Honey Bee Stamps Zen Ocean.  The little wave stamp is from the same set, stamped twice with masking and black archival ink.  The dude is a Unity stamp.  When I added him he obscured the lower fish's face, so I stamped it again, fussy cut and added it in front of his legs for a fun detail.

Circles From Squares

Hello Nomad friends.  New month, new challenges.  Over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we are Going Vegetarian.  Grab you tree, flower, fruit, vegetable, seaweed, etc stamps and share your botanical makes with us.  I made some Artist Trading Coins using Lost Coast Designs Leaves Background and Grunge Cat.

I stamped the Leaves Background on patterned paper.

I used a stitch die to cut the coins.

I stamped Grunge Cat on yellow card with orange ink and fussy cut them.  I added the cats and some Misc. Words stamped on the same patterned paper I used for the coins.
