Extra Fries

Hello Nomad friends.  We had a little interruption to our service yesterday after storm whatever it was called caused a ruckus here in this part of the globe.  Luckily we got off lightly with just a large branch dropping into the rabbit garden, and something went screwy with the internet.  But we are back now, weather has calmed down nicely, and we are being treated to a snow flurries to finish the month.  So here's a card I made last night.  I hope you like it as much as I do.

Ta Dah!!!  This is cracking me up!!!!!!

OK, this was design genius me feels.  I cut Poppystamps House in the Woods die into a slimline navy panel.  I use this die a lot, but I usually only want the woods so I have a load of these little houses lying around after they get cut off.  Then I needed some ground so I decided to stencil.  One of the first ones that popped up was Stamplorations Faces Beauty, and I saw that hair!!!  I grabbed a blending brush and TE Sugar Cube ink and love it!!!

I'd already cut my DieVersions Build an Animal deer from a weetabix box, colouring with Promarkers to give me some different shades of brown.  Then I grabbed Time For Tea Workout Pigs for that awesome pun, and cut my sentiment panels with T4T Speech Bubbles dies.  The happy birthday is a Rubber Dance stamp with everything on a red foiled cardbase.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great day, and don't forget, extra fries!!  Hugz

Let's Squash It! Under The Sea

Hello Nomad friends.  Here we are, kicking off the first Let's Squash It! challenge of 2022, and the theme is Under The Sea.  Now, before you reach for that I don't have a sea themed folder excuse, as long as you use an embossing folder and we can see the theme you are good to go.  Despite setting this challenge I actually had a mojoless time trying to wrestle my card into submission.  I do have a couple of watery folders, and I started there, and it just wasn't happening.  But after a few false starts, some abandoned fish, turtles and even a narwhal, I settled on a frondy background and a die cut mermaid.

I used Spellbinders Sea Beauty M-Bossabilities folder, embossed pale blue card and patted the embossed texture with Taylored Expressions Sugar Cube ink.  The M-Bossabilities folders are reversible, double sided and a little chunky, so I used it in my bigshot without the bottom plate but with all tabs.  Then I die cut the sizzix mermaid from very pale blue card and used Sky, True and China blue Promarkers to add colour to her hair and tail.   Never used this die before.   No idea why not.  She's rather fun.   The sentiment is Studio Light pre-printed on vellum.

Grab your folders and your undersea things and join the fun.

Hope Springs Eternal

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 10th of the month and time for a new, fun and sightly soggy challenge over at Let's Squash It!  This month we want you to use a nature themed embossing folder and water colouring.

The folder can be anything as long as it includes something from nature, so birds, butterflies, trees, flowers, fish, shells etc etc etc......   And we want you to use water with your colouring medium.  So make sure you spritz, spray, slash and splosh your colours around.

I used Geminin 3D Butterfly Effect and went grey and grungy

I started by drawing in some of the texture of the embossing folder with my Tripaint colour sticks.  Bought these years ago at a cheap shop in Weston Super Mare.  Then I spritzed with water and embossed some pale grey card.

Quite pleased with that.  Touched up some of the areas by picking colour off the Tripaint sticks with my waterbrush.

I super diluted a tiny tiny amount of black Brusho powder in water and applied it as a wash to the rest of the card.

I used a Sizzix Movers and Shakers Hope die to cut the sentiment.  I distressed the card edges and bled in some grey Promarker and mounted on a dark grey card base.  Butterflies always lift the spirit as the first harbingers of Spring and I always see them as a sign of hope.

Grab your folders and watercolours and get sploshy and squishy with us this month.  See you there.  Hugz

Bingo Was His Name Oh!

Hello Nomad friends.  Yesterday I had my allowed two people to visit and help celebrate my birthday.  It was on the 22nd, but I have been partying since and see no reason for this state of affairs to not continue.  In the spirit of fun I spotted a quirky bingo challenge at Gummiapan, so, equipped with my modest stash of Gummiapan stamps and dies, I made a card and a tag.

I gotta say, I love this card and there is no way I would have made it without Rebecka's crazy bingo board.  She gave us a 5 x 5 options board, and I must admit to being suitably challenged by at least one item in most of the rows.  I love a challenging challenge.  I started with a white card base.  I stamped the circle with black archival.  I got a nice black edge but decided the solid centre looked pretty cool with some of the ink pad texture on it.  I die cut the Heart Dandelion from white card, coloured with a rainbow of Promarkers and added a stamped fussy cut heart in the middle.  This one was a little gift from Gummiapan.  When I put it on the card I thought it needed something so I stamped the small dotted grid with London Fog Memento ink.  I added the flower and stamped the small silhouette dog.  Then I added a piece of polka dot ribbon up the side.  Love it.  I used dog, flower, rainbow, circle and ribbon and these Gummiapan supplies

Then I made this tag.  It's house shaped cos I am a nonce and started going across when I should have gone down!  It's cool, even if it is a bit Playschool LOL.

I started by cutting a piece of yellow card to 6 x 12cm.  Then I cut the roof shape, leaving a chimney!  I cut in 2mm at the top to make the edge of the roof and then cut the thin triangle pieces off each edge.  The base of the card is still 6cm wide so my house walls slope out a little.  Good for earthquakes.......  I stamped the large distressed squares on the house and the small dotted squares on the roof using Dandelion distress ink.  Then I stamped the freebie heart and using a distress marker drew in the windows and door.  I stamped the unicorn on yellow card and fussy cut, rearranging his tail and sitting him on some smeared Dandelion ink grass.  The word KLEM mean hug and is an amalgamation of letters from a coffee sentiment stamp.  I punched a hole and added some yellow stripey ribbon and done!!!!  I used tag, monochrome, animal, hug and ribbon and these Gummiapan supplies

I Love Eggs

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm feeling the Easter vibes so I made an egg shaped card with paint and vellum and Rubber Dance stamps.

I made the background by brayering red, yellow and ochre acrylic paint onto card.  Then I added some red and black smears using an old credit card.  When the paint was dry I cut an egg shape using a die.  All my stamping is black archival on yellow vellum.  I stamped the Vintage Script on some pieces of yellow vellum I cut with a grass die, to give a nice jagged edge.  I stamped the sentiment on another piece of the yellow vellum and ripped the edges.  I stamped the girl from This is Me on yellow vellum and fussy her face.  I used pritstick to glue the vellum pieces to the 'egg'.  I edged the egg with orange Promarker then used a yellow Promarker to colour some lace and stuck that around the edge.  I found an MDF winged key, a daisy and a spikey flower and added them to the card.

I used the same die to cut a card base, setting the fold of my card about 1cm below the top edge of the die.  I glued my card panel to the base and cut a bit off the bottom backside to stop my egg from rolling all over the place.

This was a really fun card to make.

Scrap Meeting Sunday

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm doing a virtual scrap this weekend with my local craft store Hobbylageret.  I got a few things finished yesterday and today I am just tootling along gently.

Challenge 10 - Colour an image

I've been wanting to join the Turner Syndrome Awareness Challenge so I grabbed Curious Corrin, who is her own kind of special, and coloured her with pink, lime and yellow Promarkers

I simply mounted my fussy cut Corrin on a patterned card base and added some sentiment stamps from Rubber Dance in black archival.

Challenge 1 - CASE the Card

I've gone with a fishing theme for my CASE.   The fish tag is off a Weird Fish t-shirt.   I used the Imaginisce Bon Voyage paper again and also some Papirdesigns Fiskestenger and Sykkel papers.  The sentiment says Follow your dreams.

Your Staggering

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy February.  Gosh, January seemed to just vanish and here we are at the month of love.  The new challenge starting today at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity is Red and Gold.  You can use a little black and white as well, but Red and Gold and real rubber or clear stamping must be the focus of your project for it to have a chance at the randomly drawn prize.   I made a card using a new stamp from the Lost Coast Designs collection, Dark Girl Geisha.

I went with a fun Asian theme, cos it's also the month to celebrate the start of the Chinese New Year.  Did you know a whole fish is supposed to symbolise long life.

I stamped the Bamboo from the Asian set horizontally on a panel of red card using Carnation archival ink and cut the panel with a stitch die.  I stamped the Carmen's Veranda I Need Bail sentiment with black archival.  I stamped Dark Girl Geisha on white card with black archival, on white card and gold embossed and on red card and gold embossed.  Then I did some fussy cutting and pieced her together.  To finish I used red Promarkers to add some extra colour to her dress and boots.

Join the Red and Gold fun for a chance to win and don't forget the team will be sharing awesome inspiration all month.  See you there.  Hugz

All About The Harmony

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 15th of the month so time for a new challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where we want to see your stamped Festive Fun makes.   The team are really having a blast with this challenge so pop over and check out the inspiration and pop back frequently cos we are having a fun fest for the rest of the month!!!   Here's my sparkly fun card using Lost Coast Designs ZZ Top Gnome 2 and Dictionary Words.

Lost Coast Designs have so many fun Gnome red rubber stamps and they are suitable for all occasions.  This one will be going to a musical bloke I know.  Isn't he just too cool!!!

I stamped the dictionary words Joy, Peace and Harmony twice in brown archival ink on my stitch cut background panel.  I dabbed Festive Berries distress ink pad randomly on the panel and sprited with water.  When it was dry I added it to a red card base and went a little crazy with the glitter glue.  I stamped ZZ Top Gnome 2 on white card, coloured with Promarkers, gel pens and glitter glue LOL and fussy cut him.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hop over to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for masses of fun festive inspiration and link up your makes for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars!!!  See you there!  Hugz

Coffee Gnome Tag

Hello Nomad friends.  One more tag for today and then I'm out to do a little tidying in the garden if the weather holds.  This tag was inspired by Elena's cute tag on day 8 of Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags event. As soon as I saw the cute bear sitting on a stump I thought about Lost Coast Designs Coffee Gnome, also sitting on a stump!

Sqquuuuuueeeeee!  Too cute.  I used Winnie and Walter Carly die cuts to make the bauble.

I wanted this tag to be a little card so there was more space to write so I cut the frame and inner circle and then used the frame die to cut a folded base, offsetting the die so I kept the hinge.  The blue inner circle was a scrap of blue card I found that had some blue brusho sprinkles on it.

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Coffee Gnome and the Rubber Dance mushroom on a scrap of grey card, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  Mushroom footstool!!  Perfect.  I've added a piece of flat fluffy white ribbon to his hat and then went crazy with some white snowflake stickers.  May I draw your attention to the bow????  Gosh, did I do that??  White organza with red dots and a bit of plain red ribbon behind to tie it on a present or tree, although obviously we also have the free standing option as well.

Three Little Cute Deer

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh, September!!!!  In some ways this year is going too fast, and in others not fast enough.  Jo has invited me to elf out over at the Christmas Kickstart challenge this fortnight with the fun theme of Festive Furbabies

Always wonderful to get another xmas card finished.
I decided to use these cute little reindeers from Mama Elephant.  Thanks go to Ally's Angels for these.  They come with their own dies.

Maybe more hair than fur, but so very cute.

I've used a Kort og Godt patterned card base, a scrap of white cut with a stitch die and a gold scrap die cut circle for the moon.  The deer were stamped on white scraps and coloured with Promarkers.  The sentiment is also from the deer set.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz
