Christmas Ian

Hello Nomad friends.  Lots of Christmas in July challenges going on.  I grabbed this cute Santa Ian from The Greeting Farm, that lovely Memory Box Country Road Oval die, which the eagle eyed lurkers may notice the cut is 'the other bit' I didn't use yesterday, and some more lovely scraps from the desk pile.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut Ian from the Xmas Sweeties stamp set rubber version.  The sentiment is from TGF Let It Snow set.

Strangely Weird

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy Easter!!!   I hope the bunny brought you plenty chocolate eggs and candy.  All that sugar has obviously gone straight to my head and Mr Mojo had a bit of a weird moment throwing some unrelated items together for an unlikely, but strangely pleasing result.  It's time for a little inspiration for the Let's Squash It!! Geometric challenge and I decided to stretch my sizzix Spiderweb folder in this colourful creation.

I embossed some purple glittery glossy card with the spiderweb folder and added some purple and orange Promarker and Spiced Marmalade distress marker colour.  I die cut the panel with a stitch die, added a preprinted birthday greeting and The Greeting Farm polar bear.

I hope you find time to grab your geometric folders and join the fun at Let's Squash It!

Old McSplendid's Farm

Hello Nomad friends.  Stumbled over Scrappegarasjen Mixed Media Inspiration Day.  This is an online meeting tomorrow, but they've already set three challenges today and we have until Sunday evening to play along.  So happy!!  The weather was looking a bit iffy and my Mojo is really flagging in the heat.  I decided I should do a bit outside before it rained, but walking past my craft room I thought of the first challenge - make something in 5 minutes.  Well, it's only 5 minutes.  Isn't it???   Turned out 5 minutes is an extremely short period of time, especially for time unaware slow crafters.

Anyway, this is what I wanted to make in 5 minutes!!!  Told you I am time challenged, in more ways than one!!!!

I watched the video made for the inspiration for this challenge and she gathered all her supplies before starting the clock.  That's handy cos I would have had to restart the clock at least twice already!!!!   I found a scrap of patterned card, a scrap of Bazzill, some Kaiserkraft corrugated tag and The Greeting Farm McSplendid Farm stamps (NBUS)

OK, so there was the stamping on the Bazzill with brown archival ink, the cutting up of the patterned panel and the inking of the edges with brown Promarker, the fussy cutting of the images and sentiments with more Promarker colour and edging and a little white gel pen here and there, the gluing together and the addition of the wool.  I managed to get the pig tag made in under 5 minutes, and also the hen one, another 5 minutes.  The cow and horse took longer, so didn't make the cut, but isn't it a cute set!!!!!   The cow was going to say Hi, but the Hi vanished, so I restamped a Hey, which I thought was more appropriate anyway........

Thanks for dropping by.  I did get out and do some weeding so that was good.  Now I have recharged with a lovely cup of tea and some freshly picked and cooked beans, so I am heading outside again while the sun is still shinning.  See you soon though.  Hugz

Beary Merry Christmas

Hello.  Welcome.  Just wanted to share a quick beary Christmas card.

I used Kort og Godt patterned paper for my card base and stamped the sentiment from The Cats Pajamas Polar Holiday set with black Archival.  I stamped the bear from The Greeting Farm Let It Snow set on white card, fussy cut and coloured with Promarkers.  I stamped the solid heart from the Let It Snow set with Rusty Hinge distress ink on the scarf.   Quick make!!  Possible contender for The Christmas card LOL.

Polar Pack

Hello.  Welcome.  The crazy season approaches apace and quick makes are all the rage.  I decided to make a festive little pillow box using some patterned paper and stamps from The Greeting Farm Let It Snow set.

I scored my A5 piece of patterned paper at 1 and 11 cm, folded it and stuck down the tab.  Then I cut and scored the ends.  I stamped the Polar Bear and sentiment with Versafine Clair Twilight and the snow stamp with DOx Salty Ocean.  I coloured the bear with Promarkers, keeping it all blue.  Then I decided the Polar Bear was a lovely size to make a matching tag, and look, it is!!  I stamped and fussy cut him on a piece of blue pearlescent paper, leaving an extra bit above his head to hang him from.

Which Witch is This Witch

Hello.  Welcome.   I'm in Witch mode again tonight using the cute little witch from The Greeting Farm Spooktacular rubber stamp set.

I've used YNS sketch.  My base card is silver.  For the border I used an embossing pen and black embossing powder.  On the RHS I used a paper mask but the other edges I just went for it.  I quite like the effect.  The frame is cut using Crafts Too Frames dies in black and purple glitter card.  Looks great in the real but I always forget, right until I pick up the camera, that all that glitter does make the photography a little challenging.  Ah well.  I coloured the witch with Promarkers.  I diecut Cheery Lynn Spider Web Mesh Border and Southern Charm Valance from black glitter card.  I used part of the valance die cut and weaved a piece of purple paper stamped with Unity Stamps sentiment 'Best Witches'.

Blue Yule

Hello and welcome crafty friends.  Well.  The end of another month!  August tomorrow!!  Arrrrggggggg!!!  I sometimes wonder, when I am older and greyer, how fast will time pass cos it is surely whizzing along at the moment.  The end of the month means lots of challenges closing and of course, as always, there are a few I really want to play along with.  I started this project last night, and whilst waiting for glossy accents to dry, I started another one.  This gets to the finish line first but the other isn't far behind so don't go away.  Well, not too far away anyway.

Here's my take on the STAMPlorations sketch.  It was going to be fish but it seems Christmas in July is still a popular theme and a few people have mentioned blue.  Oh good.  It doesn't take much to abandon the hot pink in favour of a little bit of blue.

I used patterned card and paper for my base.  I think these are both from Craft Creations.  All the stamps are The Greeting Farm Pretty Hat.  I was going to use some Anya's in my baubles but they are quite large.  Pretty Hat comes with a load of small accessory stamps and they are so cute.  I stamped the animals onto patterned paper, fussy cut and added them to three blue glitter circles I cut with Sizzix dies.  Then I added glossy accents to make them look like baubles.  I realised this morning that I should have added a Wink of Stella to the animals because they look a bit dull against the blue glitter.  Ah, well, note to self.......

I stamped the bows on gold paper and embossed with gold embossing powder.  I found some gold bauble stickers and stole the tops and then doodled some lines with a gold Pilot marker.  The little dog was feeling a bit left out so I added him at the bottom and gave him a gold heart.

Late, Early, Always Time For Cupcakes

Hello.  Welcome.  The mojo is with me.  Just need to find the time!  Can you believe it's July already??  Happy Independence Day to my US friends.  Hope you are partying.  Bigtime.

Over at Joan's Touch Joan wants to see pink, green and white, a circle and flowers.  Yesterday I had a mail from my sister which included a pack of 80's Glam Sharpies.  One was called Jellie Pink and I thought that would be a fun colour for hair.  Last weeks challenge at The Greeting Farm was to case a designer and I liked this card by Marcy but got all discombobulated with time zones and well, time in general.  But it's a cute card so I decided to use it as a sketch.

I used a white card that came with hearts embossed on it.   Sorry about the shadow on the photo.  The glossy silver outlined flowers were giving me glare problems.  I cut a round aperture using Sizzix circle die and backed it with paper from Docrafts Shop til you Drop range.  Double Cupcake Anya from The Greeting Farm was stamped and coloured with Sharpies.  I also added Wink of Stella to the butterfly and cupcake frosting but I don't think that's showing.  The flowers are Papermania stickers from the Fun Cats sheet

I cut the corners using shaped scissors and added a ribbon and another of the flower stickers.  The aperture has been tinted with VersaMagic Pink Petunia and Perfect Plumeria and I added 3 green rhinestones to the butterfly

I cut my ATC from red textured card and added a border of black paper tape.  Then I used some white bubbles stickers from Woodware.  The Greeting Farm's Double Cupcake Anya was stamped, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  I added a Wink of Stella clear to the butterfly and the cake frosting.

Patriotic Cupcakes

Hello.  Welcome.  I have made a little something for Cheery Lynn where the theme this week is red, white and blue.  I always think this is a very classy combo.

I used a white card that came already embossed with flowers.  I tinted it with VersaMagic Aegean Sea chalk ink.  I cut Cheery Lynn Spring Flower Burst Doily from red card but left all the negatives in place.  I cut Cheery Lynn Small Tea Rose from blue card, use my ball tool on the back of the petals and layered two together.  I like this gives a totally different look flower.  I used Chery Lynn BAF #1 for the white center and then a red rhinestone.  I also added a wink of stella to the edges of the petals.

I stamped The Greeting Farm Double Cupcake Anya and coloured with promarkers.  The sentiment is from PaperArtsy SIDD5 stamp set.

Love Your Mummy

Hello.  Welcome.  Over at Joan's Touch the recipe this week is a stencil and two patterned papers.  Joan used the bump technique and I have never had so much success with this but I thought I'd give it a go.

I used TCW Mini Numerals stencil and Distress Walnut Stain on Making Memories Noteworthy paper

I bumped my stencil and added Dreamweaver Matt Yellow Embossing Paste

The little mummy from The Greeting Farm Spooktacular rubber stamp set, fussy cut and matted onto Making Memories Spook Alley paper.  The sentiment is computer generated and tinted with DI Dried Marigold.

Songs In My Head

Hello.  Welcome.  Midnight crafting and I keep thinking of songs but it seems the words Midnight Crafter fit all the lyrics.  Rhinestone cowboy?  Like a Midnight Crafter, dum dum.  Oh, and now my examples have all fled, like my cowboy, off into the sunset.  It's midnight, there is no sense here.  But there is mojo.....  This particular mojo is inspired by The Greeting Farm, where they want a card for Mom.  I've used the sketch from Your Next Stamp and the colour scheme from Ett Trykk picture inspiration.  I hear the sound of laughter.....

I layered papers from Craft Creations for my background.  I cut Poppystamps Diamond Background and used Sizzix Ida Lou's Flower Box dies for the letters, both cut from the same green paper.  I coloured The Greeting Farm Double Cupcake Anya with Promarkers and added a little wink to the frosting on her cupcakes.

Sweet As Cupcakes

Hello.  Welcome.  I was a very lucky bunny and won some cards and ribbons from Laura over Easter.  I've used one of the cards and some of the gorgeous cupcake ribbon to make this card.  I've used a sketch from Papertake Weekly and the image is Double Cupcake Anya from The Greeting Farm.

The card was pre-embossed so I just added a tint of VersaMagic Aegean Blue.  I coloured my Anya with Promarkers.  The cupcake ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons and I used epoxy buttons from Crate Paper.  I set the butterfly button at an angle to mimic the one in her hair.  I added a bow to the little square button which also has a butterfly on it.

Hello.  Welcome.   Here's a card I made using the sketch from STAMPlorations.

I coloured the little vampire from The Greetings Farm stamp set with Promarkers, Sky Blue, Indigo Blue, Cool Grey 4, Bright Orange and Amethyst.  I also used Wink of Stella Violet on his cloak.  The papers are from Soestrene Grene.  The star is a piece of wallpaper cut with a Spellbinders die and I added some Gold Wedding Card Candi.

Witch Job Share

Hello.  Welcome.  It took me 5 attempts to spell witch!!  I blame it on too much sun!!  Hurray, the sun.  Four days in a row and a toasty 19C in the shade.  Amazing.  Lots of garden time.  Things are certainly springing......  No baby bunnies yet though!  Hopefully some will appear later this week. Was hoping for a fluffy birthday present but never mind......

I've been working on a little something using the sketch from Papirdokkene, the recipe from Joan's Touch using pastel colours for The Greeting Farm, and Cheery Lynn wanted something for Mother's Day.  Phew!!  Kay, I hear you laughing!  It all came together and looks something like this......

I've used the little witch from The Greeting Farm Spooktacular set.  She's providing holiday cover for the Fairy Godmother.  Tooth Fairy gigs are much more her line but the Tooth Fairy only takes summer vacations cos she's always so busy from Halloween through Easter what with all the extra candy consumption.  I paper pieced her with lilac paper and added Wink of Stella clear.  I've used a purple base card and added a purple layer embossed using Nellie Snellen Flowers and Leaves embossing folder.  I added a white layer embossed using Cheery Lynn Diamond and Starburst embossing plate.  I cut Cheery Lynn Tiny Bubbles Border in white and added some purple ribbon which has a silver rose pattern.  I cut Cheery Lynn Pocket Watch and backed it with some apricot paper.  Hope that's OK Joan LOL  The flowers are Cheery Lynn BAF #1 and Wheat Heads cut in purple paper.  All the edges were distressed and coloured with VersaMagic Perfect Plumeria.  I also used this ink to highlight the embossing and flowers.

The tag is cut from MME paper.  I've use the same purple ribbon and distressed inked edges.  I decided this was the perfect thing for a mother's day card, a voucher for child minding.  What mother doesn't need an evening off?

Of course this idea could be adapted for any special occasion where you want to give your time or skills.

Isn't she sweet.  Gotta love the Wink.

Easter Bunny

Hello.  Welcome.  I don't seem to be able to escape the hot pink today!  Over at The Greeting Farm the Colour challenge is purple, pinks, blues so here's Pretty Hat out and about with her Easter Bunny and Easter Chick.

I started by stamping Pretty Hat onto Stardream card and colouring her with Promarkers.  The stardream has built in bling and I love that this show through the promarker ink.  The bunny is actually Pretty Hat's dog!!   In this rubber stamp set she comes with a dog and also a bunny and cat head and the cute little bird and a load of other small stamps.  I was going to have the dog there and then I thought in the spirit of Easter I would cut off his head!! and tail!!! and give him a rabbit head instead.  Sounds a bit drastic but he makes a very cute rabbit don't you think?  Over at I Love Promarkers the theme is Cats and Dogs.  Do you think this would still count even though he's wearing a bunny head?  ROFL  OK, maybe too many chocolate eggs already!  The bunnydog and chick were stamped onto purple dotty paper.  The doily is Cheery Lynn Spring Flower Burst with matching angel wing.  The inner circle is Making Memories paper and I drew some lines with a Rose Pink Promarker to give Pretty Hat and Bunnydog something to stand on.

The background paper was a happy accident.  I found this lovely paper from Making Memories which has these embossed leaves on it.  I was inking the edge with DI Salty Ocean and liked the effect on the embossed areas so inked it all over.  Then I thought it was too much, spritzed with water and blotted with some paper.  The result looks a bit like leaves against a cloudy sky.  Happy accident.  Isn't Bunnydog cute?

I've used a purple base card and I also added some pink satin ribbon across the card.

In Stitches

Hello.  Welcome.  Another sunny day.  Another frosty night.   Maybe the weather is like life.  One minute up, the next down.  Say la doo dah.

I decided to go black and white.  Can't really call it colouring since I just added some black promarker to my stamped image.   This is Pretty Hat from The Greeting Farm.  I've stitched a button to her hat.  My layers are all handmade paper.  The first black layer is actually two, although that doesn't show in the picture.  You can see the texture on the top layer.  I stitched them together using Scary Monster, aka my sewing machine, with a fancy stitch.  Looks like what you get on a heart monitor to prove you are still with the living.  I used a piece of white organza and a narrow white ribbon across the card and the sentiment is a Kort og Godt stamp.

Cupcake Queen

Hello.  Welcome.  I'm having great fun playing with Double Cupcake Anya stamp from The Greeting Farm.  Actually this is one of those projects you finish and realise it's going to fit in everywhere.  It's going to be perfect for a friend who didn't get an card this year on her birthday because, quite honestly, I still don't know what happened to February.  As I was colouring this Anya I thought she would be perfect.

I coloured Anya with Promarkers and used VersaMagic Peach Pastel Chalk ink for her face.  I added Wink of Stella Clear to her boots, cupcake frosting and the butterfly, but her hair is also glittery so I must have put my fingers in it whilst still wet.  I tried some shading on her hair.  Quite adventurous for me.  I also used glossy accents on the butterfly because this really brings out the wink.  The panel behind her is corrugated card with gesso and Walnut Stain DI.  I cut it using X-cut Ornate Frame die.  The pink layer and the cupcake border are some un-named printed papers I have.  The photo corners and enamel dots came with my card from my February CCC buddy Linda.  Thanks Linda.  The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp.  I added pink ric-rac ribbon to the bottom of the card and around the corrugated frame as well.  I used Walnut Stain and a patterned Fiskars brayer on the white base card to give a bit of interest.

Lucky Cupcakes

Hello.  Welcome.  A happy St Patrick's Day to you all.  Well, you have to get with the mood don't you?  It seems it's lucky and green all over the place so I thought I'd offer up something along those lines as well.

I have used Double Cupcake Anya from The Greetings Farm.  Coloured with Promarkers and sitting on a lucky horseshoe cut from green mirror card using a Go Create die.  I've used twine to suspend the horseshoe from the Tando Creative chipboard border which I coloured with Emerald Fantasy Prisme paint.  This chipboard is from Work of Parts Come Fly With Me kit.  She was hanging just from the twine but I realised that wouldn't work so I have used foam pads behind.  I've used a piece of brown wallpaper to back my panel.  Lovely texture.....

I have altered her a bit to make her cupcakes more lucky.  I think that was a strawberry on top but it looked enough like a heart that I stamped it lots, cut them out and made lucky four leaf clovers.  The butterfly was coloured with green Wink of Stella and then I added glossy accents.  It really brings out the sparkle.  The sentiment is a Crafty Individuals Stamp, distressed and coloured with DI Mowed Lawn and then mounted on a ribbon.

Just a close up on the chipboard so you can see the detail and also the lovely effect of the Fantasy Prisme paint.  Like cracked enamel.

A Quote From My Mother

Hello.  Welcome.  I have been wracking my brain cell and that of BrainyQuote.com for a good one for this weeks Craft Barn Q & L challenge.  They have been my go to for my previous entries but quite honestly they weren't much help this week.  The Q&L words are Marriage and Age.  Well, what sort of quote is 'a good marriage would be between a blind wife and a deaf husband'??!!  It didn't seem to get any better so I checked out age and that wasn't so inspiring.  Then I remembered something my mother used to say.  I hope a quote by mum counts.  I'm using

'Act your age, not your shoe size'

I made a painty background using acrylic paints and then white through Memory box Honeycomb stencil and also flipping the painty stencil to give the negative image.  I also stamped with the white paint using PaperArtsy script stamp from LPC003.

I couldn't find any shoes so I went with these guys.  These are four of the five characters in The Greeting Farm Spooktacular stamp set.  Cute or what.  They didn't have very big shoes either so I have used a black marker to give two of them boots.  I use a white ink pad all over the background to tone down the bright colours a bit.  A pity, but my funny little guys were getting a bit lost in the busy.  The words are computer generated.  Might try and get a better photo tomorrow, there's a shadow on that one.  But it's nearly midnight here and tomorrow is another day...........
Well, I had fun.  Thought it might make a funny birthday card.  Funny ha ha?  Funny wierd?  Funy weirdo.   Ooh, I detect overuse of the UHU.
