Snowman Soup

Hello.  Welcome.  It's a wet grey day here, and I really am not feeling the jingle, but tomorrow is December so I really need to get some Chrimbo things done.  Something warm in a cup is always appreciated on such a miserable day and I decided to pack up some Snowman Soup to spread some winter cheer.

Hmmmmm, hot chocolate with marshmallows!!  Now that's something to melt any cold heart

I started by cutting and scoring my header card.  I stamped Rubber Dance Mr Frosty and then did a blue watercolour wash.  My waterbrush has Iridescent Watercolour Medium in it to give a nice sparkle!

I stamped the large and small snowflakes from the Frosty Friends set using blue dye ink.

I coloured Mr Frosty with Promarkers and added a computer generated title, and also instructions on the back.  My snowman soup consists of a small bar of dark or white chocolate, marshmallows and a candy cane, for the stirring of.  Just add warm milk for that nam nam, yum yum cosy experience.  I'm off to try it out........

If you are in xmas mode and using Rubber Dance stamps then there is still a few hours remaining to join the November challenge over on the fb group.  And don't forget to check out the huge news on the blog

Cool Blue K9

Hello.  Welcome.  It appears that Mr Mojo has been revitalised after our holibobs and he's full of ideas.   There were also a few packages waiting for me and one of them was a prize of Marianne Design goodies I won from Cards und More.  So I checked the MD challenge (men) and the Cards und More challenge (colourboard) and Mr Mojo said we should make this, so we did...........

I love that dog and doesn't he look so cool in blue!!!

I started by taking a piece of MD crafters cardboard and embossed it with a Marianne Design embossing folder that also cuts.  Love this one.  It's so pretty.  I cut the panel using a stitch rectangle die and smudged the edges and embossed details with black archival ink.  I like that the ink also picked up the corregations in the cardboard.

I used a very pale blue pearlecent paper to back the kraft panel and also to stamp and emboss the 100% Cool scallop circle sentiment and fussy cut it.  I stamped it again on a scrap of pale brown paper and just cut out the star.  I stamped the dog from MD Beste Maatjes on a snippet of blue card using blue ink, added a bit of black, gold and pink and fussy cut him.  I think we can agree, he is 100% cool!!!

Visible Thoughts

Hello.  Welcome.   I'm BACKKKKKK!!!!!!    Gosh, can hardly believe I haven't blogged for 10 days!!  Didn't even turn on my laptop a few days I was away!!  Strangely liberating.  Did miss creating though.  Offset the crafty cravings with a little retail therapy tee, hee.  Stay tuned for a flurry of new goodies and exciting times.  Decided to ease in gently today with a little clean and simple number.

I used a white card base, smeared some kids glue stick on it, waited 30 seconds and applied gold foil.  Then I stamped Gummiapan's Liten Yoga, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  Inside I have stamped a thinking of you greeting.

Thanks for dropping by.  Back soon.  Hugz

Chistmas Quackers

Hello.  Welcome.  I am having a blast visiting family and friends in the old country, eating good food and generally taking it easy.   There's a new challenge starting over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and the theme is Cute!

I decided to use the adorably cute Carmen's Veranda Duck and add a die cut glittery santa hat.  I smudged Mowed Lawn distress ink for the grass and the sentiment is from Lost Coast Designs Misc. Words.

And then I decided to make a matching tag.

What an adorable pair.

Lost Coast Designs Mayan Blog Hop - Day 2

Hello.  Welcome.  It's day 2 of Mayan Madness!  The Lost Coast Designs Design Team are having a Mayan Blog hop to celebrate some cool new stamps in the shop.  You should be coming from Cathy's blog if you are following the hop, but if you have just happened by then you can find the full hop list HERE.

The team have been stamping up a storm using the fabulous Mayan Hieroglyph and Mayan Stele stamps.

Today I've used the Mayan Hieroglyph stamp that Laurie nicknamed 'Big Chief'.  He looks a bit chiefly with that posh blanket and hairdo.  I have placed him in his sky temple.

I started by smearing Salty Ocean distress oxide on my white card base.  I like the chalky finish.  Then I stamped the Mayan Stele stamp with blue dye ink and fussy cut some lines of stones to make the frame.  There is only one of the big blocks on the stamp so I stamped that bit 4 times to get my corner stones.

I stamped my Mayan, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut him.  I gave him plenty of gold, cos like I said, he looks chiefly!

Then I put him in his sky temple so he can contemplate the vastness of it all and admire the carvings.

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to leave a little love to be in with a chance to win a prize.  To continue on the hop you need to go to Laurie.  If you get lost or find a broken link then you can find the full hop list at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity. Good luck!  Have fun!  Hugz.

Lost Coast Designs Mayan Blog Hop - Day 1

Hello.  Welcome.

Here's my card.

I started by stamping the black card base with the Mayan Stele stamp and versamark ink  and embossed with black powder.

I stamped the Mayan Stele on kraft card using Potting Soil archival ink and fussy cut it.  I stamped the Mayan dude, coloured him with Promarkers and fussy cut.  This guy comes with his own little stone block so I stamped that again on the same kraft card.  He looks a little puzzled and that monkey falling out of his pocket is probably not helping!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to leave a little love to be in with a chance to win a prize.  To continue on the hop you need to go to Laurie.  If you get lost or find a broken link then you can find the full hop list at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity. Good luck!  See you tomorrow for more Mayan antics.  Hugz.

Quick Quick Christmas

Hello.  Welcome.  I wanted to turn my focus towards Christmas today.  Inspired by some tags by Tatiana over at the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event I made these three quick and easy bauble shaped tags.

I used Sizzix Ornament 5 die and stamps from Rubber Dance Norwegian Yule for the words.

I started by die cutting the blue card and then stamped and embossed the words with white powder.  They say Merry Christmas, Don't Open Before Christmas Eve, and With Wishes for a Nice Christmas.

Then I used the matching embossing folder to dry emboss them.  I used Mermaid Lagoon distress ink to highlight the texture and silver tinsel embossing powder for the caps.

The current Rubber Dance challenge is to use Mint, Blue and Dark Brown and/or Anything Christmas with Rubber Dance stamps.  Join the fun for a chance to win a grab bag of Rubber Dance stamps.

Deer Love

Hello.  Welcome.  Leaves fall.   Autumn moves on apace.  The days shorten and darkness lengthens.  Winter is coming!  But first, this.....

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Leaves background on a yellow card base with Ripe Persimmon distress ink.  I cut Memory Loop Border twice from orange card and mounted on a piece of the base card smeared with Ripe Persimmon.  I stamped a piece of pale yellow card with the leaves stamp and same ink and used Sizzix ATC die to cut it and a piece of black card.  I cut the black ATC with Poppystamps Playful Deer Collage die, smeared the edges with Amber Distress oxide ink and embossed with clear powder.  Aa little gem heart and a sentiment made from letter stickers to finish.

Mermazing

Hello.  Welcome.  The October Card Chain Challenge cards have been revealed today.  I wanted to use the lovely sketch and colour options and I also went with Mermaid.  Here's the card I sent to Linda in Michigan.

I cheated big time and used some patterned vellum for my background which I cut with Stamplorations Stitched Rectangle die.  The mermaid is Lost Coast Designs Wing Mermaid  stamped and fussy cut.  The sentiment is from Unity.

Do hop over and check out all the amazing cards that have been exchanged in October.

This is an international card exchange and if you would like to join the fun there is still a few days to sign up for the November exchange.  This is the last exchange this year so if you want to try it out then now's a good time.  Isn't now always the best time? Bwahahahaaha.
