The Last of September

Hello.  Welcome.  Just a last minute card put together from the bits and pieces left over from earlier today.  And pink.

I've cut my layers using Stamplorations Crazy Stitched Rectangle dies.  I used a hot pink card base.  The top layer is a panel I gutted from the previous creation.  Well, seemed a pity to hide those lovely embossed cups.  The little cup is from Stamplorations Going Postal, stamped and embossed in white and coloured with Worn Lipstick distress ink.  The image is Latte for Two digi.  The sentiment is from Bloom Sketches.

Thanks for dropping by.  See you in October.  Hugz

Final Days

Hello.  Welcome.   End of the month.  End of the Fall Coffee Lovers Hop.  But still time to join that linky........

A new CASE the dt at coffee loving cardmakers and a lovely card by Andreea with a lovely wreath and very pink.  I've made my wreath a bit more autumnal with shades of orange.

I stamped the small coffee cup from Stamplorations Going Postal and embossed with white powder.  Then I splashed on some Worn Lipstick distress.  I cut with Stamplorations Crazy Stitched Rectangle die.

I added a white panel cut with the same die.  I used a Nellie Snellen die for the base of my wreath and then cut Cheery Lynn Wheat Heads and flowers from BAF#3.  I added some irridescent glitter and a pink rhinestone to the flowers.  I cut another of the small coffee cups, coloured it with Worn Lipstick and added a little pink ribbon and another rhinestone.  The sentiment is from Stamplorations Feathers 2 set.  Love that font.

Travel Cup

Click here for the October Card Chain Challenge sign up

Hello.  Welcome.  Oh my goodness.  I had an idea and I had so much fun making this card.  Here's my travel cup......

I CASEd Ksenija's card, inspired by the cascading coffee cups and the way she coloured her cups.  I started by stamping the small coffee cup from Stamplorations Going Postal set on a piece of card.  I coloured the cups with distress ink.  I used YNS slider die to cut the slider slot.  I used fun foam to raise my stamped panel off the base card and stuck the piece cut out of the slot on the card base.  I used a digi version of the coffee cup for the large sliding cup.  I coloured with the same inks and stamped Born to Roam from Stamplorations Born to Roam set.  I used Stamplorations Crazy Stitched Rectangle dies to cut a kraft frame.  The sentiment 'not all those who wander are lost' is also from the Born to Roam set.  I cut the sentiment panel with the crazy stitched rectangle dies in a crazy sort of way.  Needed some balance so cut out one of the small cups and mounted it on the frame.  Love this.  Hold on.  Made a video.  A real one.  Does this work.......

Nope...

OK, poor man's video

If you click on the first picture it should get big and then you can flick through them.  I will take technical advice on why blogger wouldn't upload my video.......

Anecdotes and Aspidistra

Hello.  Welcome.  Look, ye olde ancient NBUS!  Darnell will be pleased.  I've had this altered pages mythology stamp set for an age.  Finally decided to stamp up a storm with this lovely Medusa.   Google says she should be ugly but artistic license rules the day...........

Gone with some autumn colours and some tone on tone stamping inspired by this MFP tutorial.  So, I stamped Altered Pages Medusa with black archival ink and watercoloured her with distress inks.  I gave her some shoulders and stamped the tiny Rubber Dance Textured Flowers stars in another shade of green.  I watercoloured the background with shades of yellow and orange distress and stamped parts of the large Rubber Dance Maple Leaf in dark orange distress.  The tape at the bottom is homemade.  Painted with red acrylic and stamped with black acrylic paint.  The sentiment is a Unity stamp.  I added gold detail and dots using a gold pilot marker and a green rhinestone to finish.

I made a set of three.  Swapsies anyone?

Christmas Tweet

Hello.  Welcome.  Feeling a little jingle in between the bwahahahahaha.

I used the High Hopes sketch and High Hopes Snow Bird stamp.  I always get that song 'Coming Home For Christmas' in my head when I use this stamp.  I used Stamplorations dies, Crazy Stitched Rectangles for my background panel and the merry christmas.  The tree is Memory Box Frosted Christmas Tree.  I added a strip of washi tape with happy christmas in Norwegian.  Covering the bi-linguine bases.  I used brusho powders in shades of blue on the background.

Pop Up Ghosts

Hello.  Welcome.  Soon it's my favourite time of the year.  I love Halloween.  Not so much the gory goop, but pumpkins and witches, purple, orange and green and all things edible.  Jelly bats anyone??  So I decided to make a fun mini card as a party invite using the pop up tutorial at MFP.  Marilynn did a variation on her blog today so I may have to make another one of these........

Here's the front of the card.  I cut my base with Stamplorations Crazy stiched rectangle die and folded it in half.  The party is a sizzix diecut.  The ghost and bat are from MFP Halloween Selections stamp set, stamped and fussy cut.  I stamped the bat on black card and embossed with white powder.

Tah dah!  Pop up ghosts.  I've left a space on the rhs to add the important when and where details.  Like this.  Those bats are so cute.

Jelly Bats

Click here for the October Card Chain Challenge sign up

Hello.  Welcome.  OK, who ate all the jelly liquorice bat sweeties??  Oh, wait, wait, I'm being told we didn't actually have any of those.  You saw them in the bag on my desk?  No, no I'm sure you are mistaken.  I distinctly remember not eating any candy from the bag on my desk!! It must have been someone else's desk.......... bwahahahahaha

Made a tag.  A serious coffee lover lurching along to the hop.......

I made my base using some tone on tone stamping as per the MFP tutorial.  My base colour is ripe persimmon and I stamped the flower from Unity Bravely Change using 4 shades of orange distress ink.  I cut the tag, then used Stamplorations Stitched Hills dies to split it up.  I added a line of green glitter between each section.

I die cut and paper pieced Cheery Lynn Zombie.  I cut a coffee cup from a scrap of stamped card.  The sentiment is a Unity stamp that I have altered.  I cut it out with a sizzix circle die and smeared it with Wilted Violet distress.  A few Sizzix diecut bats and some black and white ribbon and he's ready to lurch into a new day...........

Coffee Coffee Coffee, Hop Hop Hop

Click here for the October Card Chain Challenge sign up

Hello.  Welcome.  Have you noticed the sudden surge of coffee themed projects?  It's the fall coffee lovers blog hop.  This time I'm ready.....

I used Stamplorations Crazy Stitched Rectangle dies to cut the background panel.  I started by cutting three panels, but it was getting bulky with all those layers, so I just cut all three dies from one panel so it's a single inlaid layer.  Little bit of fun jigging it all back together again LOL.  Then, since it's a fall theme I smeared Ripe Persimmon all over.  I cut the smallest rectangle from a piece of chocolate box.  No chocolates were harmed during die cutting ROFL.  Love how this was nice and thick and I got some embossed detail as well.  Then I cut Stamplorations Coffee Cup Silhouette from the center of the black panel.  I backed the cup with a piece of inky scrap paper.  And not a stamp to be seen.........

Almost a Big Number

Hello.  Welcome.  I got all excited cos my blogger post counter skipped over to a big number but then I realised that that included my draft posts.  But soon, soon.....   Shall we have a giveaway?  Oh yes we shall.  Stay tuned Nomad friends.  I foresee some busy days ahead.  Here's a card using a very sweet Gorjuss girl.

I used Poppystamps Hello Background die to emboss the background. Then I smooshed with Salty Ocean distress ink and splooshed with water.  I cut the panel with Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die and mounted in a blue card base.  The hello was cut using the Poppystamp Hello die from hot pink card and mounted on a strip of dark blue.  I added some lace edging and Gorjuss White Rabbit (??) stamped, embossed, fussy cut and coloured with distress inks.  My layout is based on this sketch from Scrappelyst

Hello.  Welcome.  Do you like sketches?  I have been really inspired by the lovely sketches over at Scrappelyst.  I tried a card sketch on an ATC and now I'm using a LO sketch on a card.  All things are possible.

I have taken inspiration from MFP's photo challenge this week and this sketch from Scrappelyst

I have rotated the sketch 90°.  I stamped MFP Paper Doll Paige and drew the diagonal lines with a pen.  The card I choose has some texture so the stamping is a bit patchy in places.

I stamped some circle elements using Rubber Dance Round in Circles stamps and stars from the Textured Flowers set in orange distress ink.  Then I filled them in with an orange sharpie.  I didn't like that so I outlined the circles with a black sharpie and stamped some more with black archival.  I coloured the doll with distress inks and also did a distress ink wash to the background.  I paper pieced her sports shoes and tennis dress.  I'm quite liking this fun LO.

Manly Christmas

Click here for the October Card Chain Challenge sign up

Hello.  Welcome.  An idea for a christmas card for the man in your life.

I made a watercolour splash background and cut with Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die.  I cut Poppystamps Flurry Frame die from blue card.  Got this one in the Poppystamps summer sale, which is still on, and there are some lovely dies at lovely prices.  Just in case you are interested LOL.  I embossed it with holographic embossing powder, which gives a nice bling whilst still maintaining the colour.  I stamped Kort og Godt's Vintage Car on pale blue card, fussy cut and popped up on foam pads.  The merry christmas is a Stamplorations die.

Dog Talk

Click here for the October Card Chain Challenge sign up

Hello.  Welcome.  I had an idea for the CASology challenge which this week is Bark!  CAS is one of my favourite styles.  I love the open space and making a design with few elements.

I cut an ATC using Sizzix die and stamped the VLVS dog in brown archival.  Then I embossed with Sizzix Woodgrain ef.  The letters were cut using Sizzix Ducky Wucky dies.  There is no ! in the set so I used my ball tool and scissors and made my own.  I added some brown archival to highlight the embossed letters and wrote the translation in my bestest handwriting.

WOOF! (It means I love you)

Yes, I think it probably does LOL.

O is for Oriole

Hello.  Welcome.  Whilst sorting out my definition for my osteosomething card I spotted Oriole on the page I had copied.  Oooh, I have a lovely oriole stamp from Stamplorations so I decided to make a second card, which had been my intention with all the letters, but I haven't managed with a lot of them so far.  And since I was using a Stamplorations stamp I decided to incorporate one of the spotlight project ideas I had been wanting to try.

This is the large Oriole stamp from Stamplorations.  I embossed black powder on yellow card and fussy cut.  I wanted to try some of Deepti's idea.  I made a brusho background with yellow and orange and stencilled Jumbo Java chalk through Stamplorations stripes and dots stencil.  I cut a black frame and some flowers from painted card using Sizzix dies and added the bird and OED definition.

O is for Osteo..........

Hello.  Welcome.  I have a mojo enabler.   Her name is Elin and this is all her fault.......  Ah, actually not entirely.  Elin suggested osteoporosis as the O word for my altered playing card for the Craft Barn Alpha/Dictionary challenge.  So I made my card and then looked in my dictionary and unfortunately osteoporosis wasn't listed!!   There was ossify.  Nah.  Oooh, osteopath.  Yeah, cos he is obviously very qualified......

Meet Mr Bones.  I made a brayered paint background and stamped with Kaiserkraft stamps in black archival.  I added washi tape and die cut Cheery Lynn Skeleton and Frankenstein.  I put Franks clothes on the skeleton and gave him a bone to play with.  The pile of bones were going to be the floor but I couldn't see his ankles clearly, and I do like a well turned out ankle, so they ended up at the top of the card.  He does amazing things with bones does Mr Bones........
