Motherhood

Hello Nomad friends.  I was tidying this evening and found a few pink strips cut off from other projects and decided to make a scrap background for this lovely Blue Knight Motherhood stamp.

The embossed/debossed flower strips were left over from my Let's Squash It! card for the emboss/deboss challenge and I added a couple of other pink strips I had.  I stamped Blue Knight Motherhood stamp on  a white scrap and fussy cut.

Top Of The Morning to You

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy St Patrick's Day!  I love spring.  I am always in awe of how many greens Mother Nature finds to paint the new growth.  Such a gorgeous dynamic time of year.   Today I have a little reminder for the Let's Squash It! Emboss Deboss challenge.   We want you to take any embossing folder and use both sides (emboss and deboss) of the same folder on the same card. There are some lovely makes in the linky so do pop over and check em out and join the fun.  Here's a leprechaun to wish you a lucky day.

He's so glad I remembered to take him out for the day!!  I used Do-crafts Oak Leaf folder, embossed the background, stamped the sentiment of a strip of white card that was lying on the desk and debossed with the oak leaf folder.  I stamped Pink and Main leprechaun on another scrap, coloured and fussy cut.

You have until the end of the month to join the fun.  See you there....

Rock Star

Hello Nomad friends.  Blue and yellow is a popular colour combo at the moment.  It certainly is a favourite of mine anytime.  And today there was happy mail that inspired me to make this.

I used one of the stamps from Stampscapes Symmetry Sheet #1 – Suns and Moons which Dot sent me after I won the Ink Art Design challenge.  Thanks Dot.  So I inked up the Slice of the Universe with Night Sky archival ink and stamped it on a yellow base card.  And doesn't that look pretty just like that?????   But I decided to do a bit of alternative universe thinking...........

Ta dah!!!  Of course it just needed a wooden guitar and a metal heart charm from Korthobby.  I decided to suspend the You Rock and Roll heart on twine.  I only had blue and white so I coloured the white bits with yellow ink.   Oh yes I did....

Nesting Time

Hello Nomad friends.  It's time for a new challenge at the Lost Coast Portal of Creativity and we want to see birds on your stamped creations.  Now that's an easy topic isn't it???   Here's my inspiration....

The ravens have started gathering in the tall trees here in preparation for nesting.  We always used to say if they nest high it's gonna be a good summer.  Let's hope.....

I used Lost Coast Designs Tall Trees Background and stamped with Library Green archival onto white card.  Then I used various stamps from Lost Coast Designs Pieces of Calligraphy set and various green, with a little bit of orange, archival inks to add interest.  I blended it all together and covered white spaces with a smudge of Prickly Pear ink.   I stamped Lost Coast Designs MRaven1 on white card, added some cracked sapphire and marmalade distress colour, fussy cut and added him to my woodland scene.

Hope you get time to join the Tweet This! challenge.   Don't forget real rubber or clear stamping and the theme must be the focus of your project for a chance at the prize!

Peace Please

Hello Nomad friends.  Spring is trying out some of it's paces here in southern Norway.  It's been warmer and snowdrops, crocus and some very brave tete a tete mini daffs are brightening corners of the garden.  It's been rather windy all weekend so I haven't done as much outside as I was planning too do.  It's tricky when everything is blowing away......  One of my bunny cages lost it's roof, but bunny was still in place.   I still need to get the new roof fastened securely in place, but first a card.......

I used Stamplorations Swirly Blooms stencil with Cracked Sapphire distress ink for the background.   I cut the SL Missees girl from scraps of pale pink, yellow and blue card and added a Korthobby.no metal Sunflower charm.

Take care.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Both Sides Together

Hello Nomad friends.  I hope you are having a lovely sunny day.  It's time for the new challenge at Let's Squash It! and this month we want you to use the emboss and deboss of the same folder on the same card.  Jo has done an awesome Technique Time with explanations, tips and fab ideas, so be sure to check that out.  This was a really fun idea to play with and it gives some lovely results.  Sometimes it's surprizing how different the same emboss and deboss look!!   And my favourite technique of smearing with distress inks makes this technique a really stand out.  Here's my card....

I used one of my favourite flower folders by DoCraft called Cherry Blossom Stripe.

I started by embossing two pieces of card and flipping one over, but I wasn't totally happy with this so I decided to try folding a piece of card and running that through the folder.  Wonderful!  Obviously you need to use a thinnish card, I have 180gms here, otherwise the two layers will be very stressed.  But when you open it up you have the emboss and deboss on the same side of the card, front and back, so double the chance to play!!!  I used Picked Raspberry distress oxide ink to smear my textures. The lines on this folder disguise the center fold a bit and I like the mirror image I got.

I cut the panel to size and added a stamped, fussy cut Unity butterfly and a pre-printed happy birthday sentiment.

Hop over and check out Jo's beautiful card and
join the Let's Squash It! fun.

Bun in the Oven

Hello Nomad friends.   I wanted to make an expectant mum card with some new to me Marianne Design dies.  I think baby showers are a bit more of a US idea.  Brits tend to be a bit more pragmatic, or is that realistic, and I don't think we are so into counting our chickens before they have hatched.  But any excuse for a party is OK with me LOL.

I made a shaker filled with hearts, stars and the 100% happy sentiment.  I used Marianne Design papers cut with MD Ticket dies and the expectant mum was cut from black card.  The congrats is a goldline sticker.

Looking for Advice

Hello Nomad friends.  Here's a little inspiration from me for the new Lost Coast Designs Round and Round challenge.

I used Carmen's Veranda Large Peekaboo Kitty and Free Bad Advice sentiment with Lost Coast Designs Flowers Background.   I used a circle die to cut out the sentiment, edged it with yellow ink and added it back into the panel mounting both pieces on a base card.   Any questions????

Hop over to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity blog for awesome inspiration from the team and link up your stamped projects featuring round things for a chance to win.

Elephantastic

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 2nd of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge reveal.  You know the drill...... make a card, send a card, get a card.  Everyone gets a card, everyone wins!!!  For the February exchange I made a card for my very special friend Jo in the UK.  I have had this idea in mind ever since I got this sizzix elephant colorize die set, and since 'shaped card' was one of the options I made Jo an elephant card!

Ta dah!!!!    These dies are big, so I decided to make a free-standing elephant.  I had to put a tiny lift under his front foot to make him stand straight but OMG I think he's adorbs, and I think Jo liked him too.

Hop over to the reveal to check out all the awesome cards that winged their way around the planet in February.
You can sign up for March if you hurry!
