The Flying Club

Hello Nomad friends.  I am over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity with a final bit of inspiration for the Let's Fly challenge.  I decided to work in my long neglected art journal with a plethora of stamps.

I started with Lost Coast Designs Flying Pig as an ATC and Carmen's Veranda Art Wings To Fly sentiment.  The pig was stamped, coloured and fussy cut and I glittered the wings.  One ATC seemed lonely so I stamped Lost Coast Designs Gnome Witch On A Broom on a piece of white card, watercoloured with distress inks and cut with an ATC die.  Lost Coast Designs Dictionary Words on cork, embossed with black embossing powder and I found some more cork embellishments to finish the page. I used Carmen's Veranda Bullseye on a piece of offwhite card and ripped the edges.  Then I fingerpainted with Worn Lipstick distress ink to add some patches of colour. I stamped Lost Coast Designs Flagstone Background on a scrap of patterned card and stamped Whimsical Flora directly on top and selectively coloured for a stained glass look.  For the journal page I used bubble wrap to stamp the colour with a few different distress ink.  Then I stamped a border with Lost Coast Designs Dominos Border.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Happy New Year Nomad friends.  I hope you have had an wonderful festive season and New Year celebration.  Here's hoping for an awesome 2022.

I am kicking of my 2022 blogging with a card for the start of the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity challenge Let's Fly!  Shared your stamped anythings featuring things that fly.  I chose Lost Coast Designs Gryphon and perched him on an own made column.

I made a simple background by sprinkling various blue Brusho powders on a sheet of white card and spritzing with water and Windsor and Newton Iridescent Watercolour Medium, which gives a beautiful fine bling similar to Wink of Stellar pens.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Gryphon on some very pale lilac card and fussy cut.  I added gold tinsel gel pen to his claws and beak and a bit of red and green gel pen colour to his eye and tongue.  I stamped the 2022 using Lost Coast Designs License Plate Alphabet stamp set on the same pale lilac card.  Then I fussy cut it into a plinth shape, added some score lines and smeared it with grey archival ink.  Not too bad me thinks........  Then I just glued the column and Gryphon in place and mounted the panel on a navy blue slimline card base.

Link up your stamped anythings featuring things that fly to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity challenge for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.  See you there!!

31 Days of Halloween Day 28 - Magical Kitty

Hello Nomad friends.  This kitty is too cute to spook.

This is a Sweet Pea red rubber stamp, stamped with black archival ink, coloured with distress inks.  I used glitter glue on the cat's wings and also lightly on all the leaves and a little green gel pen for the eyes.   The magical is a Stamplorations die.

Sugarplum Love

Hello Nomad friends.
Sometimes you just need to send a little love.

I've used Poppystamps Large Sugarplum Fairy and Heartland Oval Frame. I cut the fairy 3 times from different shades of blue card and offset them to give a shadow/highlight.  I used a aqua base card and a panel to match the fairy cut with Stamplorations Double Stitch Rectangle die.  I added the Heartland Oval frame cut from white card and then the fairy.  The hearts at her feet are two glossy dome stickers.

I hope you are keeping safe and well.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Hope Flies on the Wings of a Mermaid

Hello Nomad friends.  How's it going????   Have they told you to stay home???   Think of all that extra crafting time!!  I am putting it to good use.  Never bored when I have stamps in my hand.  There is a new challenge over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and it's Winged Things.  I bet you have lots of rubber and clear stamps of things with wings so get them out and join the fun.  I used Lost Coast Designs Wing Mermaid emerging from a green sea of Bubble Background.   In these challenging times Art does give my soul wings to fly...........

I was originally going to have the Mermaid totally on the Bubble Background, but after I stamped, coloured and fussy cut her she wasn't 'popping' enough.  So I moved things around and now she is emerging triumphantly from her Prickly Pear and Library Green archival ink Bubble Bath.  Say that three times fast!!  Bawahahahahaaa.  Did you wash your wings today????   Starting to think the current crisis situation is going to be represented very strangely in my art.........

Two Hearts Are Better Than One

Hello Nomad friends.  Batten down the hatches there's a storm coming.  Luckily Mr Mojo and I are cosy in the craft room.  I was looking at CASology's Branch challenge and remembered I have this lovey Designs by Ryn Flowing Branches stencil.  I decided it would go well with Poppystamps Perched Fairy.

I stenciled the branch using my new toothbrush style blending brush and Black Soot distess ink.   I cut the white panel with Gummiapan's Square Postage die, and also the red layers.  I die cut Poppystamps Perched Fairy and her wings from black card and arranged the postage panels and the fairy on my white base card.  I was going to add a sentiment but in the end opted to cut two small hearts using Poppystamps Shasta Oval Frame dies.  The two hearts are slightly different sizes and I layered them together before adding them to the fairy's chest to speak for themselves.

More Wings Please

Hello.  Welcome.  I have a little vintage style piece over at the Blank Page Muse blog today featuring this thoughtful man.  The white wings actually belong to the bloke, but I decided to get arty and splash them around.  Never be afraid to fussy cut bits off your image for a totally new look.  I have even been known to take scissors to stamps and rearrange them, but that's another story........

I used three Blank Page Muse stamps on this piece, Vintage Steampunk Gentleman with Wings, Steampunk Pocket Watch with Wings, and the sentiment Be Brave.  The stencil is from That's Crafty and is called Random Ovals.  Do hop over to the blog for all the details and leave me a little love so I know you passed by.  Thanks for visiting.  Hugz

Pigs Can Fly

Hello.  Welcome.  Stamplorations are having a month long party with lots of challenges, all with the theme of Things With Wings.  I couldn't resist finally inking up this fun stamp from Stamp Oasis.  He comes with his own little cloudy starry background but I decided to make him a new one.

 Flying pig!!  But of course.

I stamped the winged pig, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  I edged with a black Promarker, and in places the card sucked a bit extra ink, but I liked the look, and I love that pig!!!  The nebula is a Unity stamp from Be Different stamped with three shades of blue distress inks.  I stamped the happy birthday greeting from Simon Says Stamp Birthday Party Animals.

I cut the panel with Stamplorations medium Double Crazy Stitched rectangle die and then the base card with the the large die.
