Travel Bottleneck

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm back!!!  OK, so this has been taking up a significant piece of my crafty time the last day or so.  It should have been quicker, but I did it my way............slow......   I made a tag album inspired by Megan Quinlan's tutorial on day 8 of the 2023 Fodder Challenge.  You will only be able to access that link if you signed up, which was free.  Not sure if you still can, but worth a try.

Megan made an awesomely quick and easy album using tags.  I used Studio Light papers and ephemera for this one.  Get ready for lots of pictures......

Front cover

Page 1 - Made a pocket behind the pic and added a little tag so you know it's there.
Page 2 - photo frame.
There is a pocket between each page.  That's the tag in the pocket on the RHS

Page 3 and 4 both have a pocket.  The two hot air balloons are removable, and another tag sticking out the RHS of the hidden pocket

Page 5, just a picture LOL.   Page 6 another pocket with a tag and that one on the RHS again!!

Page 7 a picture.  Check out da wabbit!!  Page 8 a photo frame.

The end!!

This took time.  I love it.  I want to make more.

Vintage Angel and Rainbow Flower

Hello Nomad friends.  I seemed to have misplaced a week and the end of the month is looming so I'm gonna hopefully have a bit of a blitz.  To save me some writing and you some time I thought I'd post these two cards I made this afternoon together.  Any similarities between them stop there.  Let's start with a vintage style Christmas card

I liked the De Egel sketch and they want a vintage or nostalgic theme so I went all neutral colours and cut my Creative Expressions angel die and hearts from an ice lolly box.  Don't you love when the pizza or ice lollies come in kraft coloured boxes??  It's become a bit of a highlight to see if the food carton cardboard is quality craft material or just bog standard grey board.  This one was actually a bit thick and I peeled oFf the outside printed layer before I die cut the intricate angel.  I also used scraps of patterned paper from Søsterens Grenes and the pretty circle is a Marianne Designs die.  I stamped the Kort og Godt sentiment with brown archival ink.  It says 'a big warm Christmas hello'.

and now for something totally different...........

I used Poppystamps Echo Blossoms die and made a rainbow flower, again lots of scraps used.  The stem and leaves were cut using Poppystamps Poinsettia Stem die from scraps of green.  I used Presscut clouds/rainbow embossing folder on a piece or grey woodgrain effect card for the background.  I think this is a happy day/thinking of you/sending love and rainbows sort of card.  I used a blue flower brad in the center.

Guest Designer at White with 1

Hello Nomad friends.   I was invited to guest design over at White With 1 today after they selected my May layout as the admin's choice!!!  I play along on their fb group where they have fun monthly challenges and quarterly cyber crops and games.  The moodboard for July is shades of brown and add a tag.  There is also has an owl, so that inspired me to use the Rubber Dance Carved Fox and Owl stamp set. I used Rubber Dance's lovely Organic 1 stencil in the background to give a beautiful horizontal flow to the layout.

The July White with 1 moodboard

Here's a picture of my layout ephemera.  I stamped the owl and the 'wild at heart' from the same set with brown archival ink on white card. I fussy cut the owl and used a die to make the wild at heart into a tag to use as my title. I cut a tag from kraft card and I used a hole die and then threaded through the brown and gold twine. The star net die is from Dixi Crafts

I arranged everything in a pleasing manner, adding the 'home is not a place, it's a feeling' from the Happy Place stamp set. I used more of the brown and gold twine to suspend my Wild at Heart tag. The picture is me watching sunset over the fjord.  I should do that more often.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you enjoyed my layout.  Do hop over to White with 1 and check out the layout fun.  If you are creating anything with Rubber Dance stamps this month, whatever your inspiration, please share in our FB fan group, or on instagram using #rubberdancemoodboard and tag us @rubberdance in your post, cos someone is going to win €10 to spend in the Rubber Dance store!   Don’t forget…. You gotta be in it to win it! You don’t have to use the Rubber Dance July moodboard, any new project featuring Rubber Dance products is eligible for the prize.

Christmas Ian

Hello Nomad friends.  Lots of Christmas in July challenges going on.  I grabbed this cute Santa Ian from The Greeting Farm, that lovely Memory Box Country Road Oval die, which the eagle eyed lurkers may notice the cut is 'the other bit' I didn't use yesterday, and some more lovely scraps from the desk pile.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut Ian from the Xmas Sweeties stamp set rubber version.  The sentiment is from TGF Let It Snow set.

Kukla Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  It's Christmas in July over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and the team are sharing awesome seasonal inspiration so we can take a break from the heat of summer and get a jump on the Christmas makes.  I was going to use Lost Coast Designs Santa Mona, but then I spotted Carmen's Veranda Kukla and decided to borrow Mona's hat for him to wear!

Love this cute little guy!!  I used Kukla and Lost Coast Designs Santa Mona's hat, coloured with Promarkers, added glitter glue to the hat fluffy bits and fussy cut. My background is Lost Coast Designs Arches and Doors Background, inked it up with Prickly Pear and Library Green archival ink.  I used yellow watercolour paint to colour in the doorway.  I added Kukla and his hat and also a Christmas Wishes sentiment from Lost Coast Designs Party Words set.  Kukla, the hat and the two sentiment layers were all white scraps.

You have until 23.59 PST on the 31st and don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so hop over and join the Christmas In July fun!

Country Wedding

Hello Nomad friends.   I got a lovely Memory Box die from a friend the other day.  Love Memory Box and this Country Road Oval scene is just so pretty.  I decided to make a wedding card and use greens and blues for a pretty summer feel.

Isn't that adorable!!   I just grabbed scraps from the desk and used a dark green textured base card.  The stitch rectangle frame was hanging around so I decided to incorporate it into my design.  The blue embossed bit seemed perfect for an interesting sky.  Really like this die.  I am sure it will be making another appearance soon.  The dear bridal couple is from Kort og Godt and cut from gold mirror card.

That's Fishy

Hello Nomad friends.  I have been playing in my art journal.  It's been a while.  If you want to see some of the other pages they may possibly be under the label 'art journal'.  Organising has never been my strong point, but miracles do happen.  I was looking through the AJ and was wondering who had been in there doing stuff, but then I managed to make this page, so maybe it was me.

I got lost in the process and didn't take any pics except this one, which we possibly all regret, but basically......... ripped book paper, Colourcraft Aztec Paint blue and green applied with a brush, then white pearl paint applied with my fingers.  Squirts of red ariondack spray (never opened, don't know where that came from and for a minute it started to look a bit like a crime scene) and black splatts, again applied by fingertip because the brush splatts were just not working for me.  Uhhhhh, oh yeah, random mark making with Rubber Dance Carved 1 and 2 round stamps, some text using Rubber Dance Take the Plunge Public Bathing Rules (love that one) and Textured Fish stamped on random yellowish scraps, fussy cut and a little glitter to make them sparkle.  A couple more text stamps from Rubber Dance Take the Plunge and some scribbles and I quite like that.  It's very pearly cos of the Aztec paint and a bit wavy cos I went straight into the journal, but I am sure it will straighten out once I put it back on the shelf.

Thanks for looking.  Hugz

City of Angels

Hello Nomad friends.  Mid month and time for a new challenge over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and we are going with Christmas in July!!!   Yep, let's get a jump on the crazy season and stamp some seasonal delights.   I used to dislike hearing the X word before November, but then I realised that's too late to get everything done and turned into a Xmas all year girl.  I used Carmen's Veranda Quilted Wing Angel and Staircase with Lost Coast Designs Small Cityscape and Misc words to stamp this quirky card.

I love this cute angel and I also love this cool staircase die.  I am probably being boring but I just can't resist setting different characters on the steps.  I masked the staircase and stamped the cityscape behind and I think it fits quite nicely together.  I stamped the angel on a separate piece of card, coloured with sharpies and fussy cut.  A little watercolour wash for the sky and some very subtle sparkle on the foreground and it's good to go.

Join the Christmas In July fun for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars and don't forget to hop over to the blog and check out all the awesome inspiration from the team.

Abstract Elk

Hello Nomad friends.  Another lovely sunny day and I made a card for the current Red, White and Blue challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  I am loving all the Red, White and Blue on the blog and in the linky.  It look awesome!!!  I decided to just get out some stamps today, ink them up and see where it led me.  I used Lost Coast Designs lovely Shadow Frame stamps and decided to go abstract with some distress oxide inks.

I started by stamping the large rectangle Shadow Frame stamp with Candied Apple distress oxide ink and then the small circle Shadow Frame stamp with Salty Ocean distress oxide ink on white card. I grunged up the background by randomly stamping the Doodle Circles ATC stamp and PMC Circles stamp with blue ink using the stamps off the block so I could just do partial impressions.  Then I stamped Lost Coast Designs Medium Elk Skull with red ink directly on the card and then on a piece of white card.  I fussy cut the elk image and added it to the stamped panel.
