See Horse

Hello.  Welcome.  Feeling taggy and all at sea still so came up with this bright delight

Well, I did say bright!!

I cut my tag from teal card, stamped the nautilus shell tone on tone and the starfish collage in black.  Both from Rubber Dance Retro Beach set.

I added some glitter glue and neon wool, cos I thought it looked like water weeds, and a couple of mdf seahorses from Things to Alter.  The sentiment is from Rubber Dance En Liten Hilsen and is Norwegian for 'to a friend'.  We'll have you talking bi-lingune in no time!!

Catch a Fish

Hello.  Welcome.  It's been a weekend for visitations.  Lots of visitors.  Nice to see them.  But 20 UFO's litter my crafty space!!  So I am hoping to share a few with you this evening.  This tag was actually inspired by a fb group challenge and is a result of a search through the die box for a missing tag die.  I spotted these fish dies from spellbinders and thought they would make a fun and unusual tag

I smeared some blue card with Mermaid Lagoon distress ink and cut one large and two small fish using the spellbinders dies.  I stamped the shell from Rubber Dance Retro Beach once on the small fish and many times on the big fish and embossed with gold ep.  I added some lines of gold embossing to big fish's tail and also edged the fish with gold ep.  Some googly eyes and funky wool for to attach my fishes to my package.  Blub, blub!!

Ink Blots and Dragonflews

Hello.  Welcome.  Becca is having a birthday bash.

She made this fancy moodboard for our inspiration

And also made a few suggestions.  I went with

  • a bright bold explosion of colours
  • circular shapes
  • artsy fartsy experimentation

I started with a circular piece of paper.  I sprinkled on brusho powders, yellow, orange, red,  turquoise and ultra marine.  I rubbed the colours into the paper in a circular pattern and spritzed with water

Cool.  Can you see what I see?  I saw a poppy, but drawing has never been my strong point so...........

I got this lovely sentiment in a Unity stamp grab bag and decided it would go perfectly with Unity's Beach Girl.  So I cut my beautiful background, stamped the sentiment and coloured the girl in a rainbow of colour.  Happy Birthday Becca.

Orange, Purple and Green, and Not Even Halloween

Hello.  Welcome.  All hands to the pumps.  The end of the month is rapidly approaching and the challenges that have been running all month will soon be closing.  So many I meant to join and haven't quite got there yet!  Ah well, the night is young and the mojo is feeling the effects of a full moon.  One passed, or one to come maybe.  We never mind where the inspiration comes from, as long as it comes.

Inspiration tonight was supplied by Elina's lovely card over at Stamploration's CASE challenge.  I liked the colours and the background stamping and the birds.

I started by sponging Ripe Persimmon distress ink onto a piece of card and splattering some water from my water brush.  Hadn't tried this before but it worked a treat!  The sparkles are courtesy of W&N Iridescent Watercolour Medium which is a permanent addition to the water in my water brush.

I added some tone on tone, chocolate and black stamping using Stamplorations flower from Birds and Blooms and stamps from Mixed Media Grunge.

I die cut a panel using Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die and Bubble Parade from double sided patterned paper.  I stamped and fussy cut Stamplorations large humming bird and flowers.  Please excuse the fact that I have no idea on what colour a hummingbird should be.  Don't find many of them in Norwayland.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment from the Boxed Blooms set.

She Has.......

Hello.  Welcome.  I have used the MFP Tiger again.  I usually think of this as a male image but this was originally inspired by the Twofers A Girl's Best Friend challenge.  Zoe set the challenge and she mentioned that she likes cats, flying and diamonds.  What girl wouldn't like a tiger??  I am also doing a bit of an inspiration hop cos it's also got elements in common with the last post, namely Marilynn's scrabble letters and tan.  The colour, not anything to do with sunbathing.  Actually that would be right out since I have also used a moon.  Can you moonbathe?  Maybe just for crafty sisters bwahahahahahahahaha.

I was going to make a tag but I found this cardboard coaster in the tag box so I thought 'Why Not?'.  I covered it with some crinkly handmade stitched paper.  I used a chipboard moon from EyeConnects Totem Owl set and coloured it with a gold pilot marker.  I stamped MFP's Tiger on the back of some packaging, fruits of the forest yoghurt I believe.  I restamped the head and layered it on the body to give a bit more dimension.  Then I added some of the scrabble tiles I got from Marilynn.  Catitude.  Definitely a female trait.  Oh, and some clear rhinestones cos they do say diamonds are a girls best friend.  Hugz

Man On A Wire

Hello.  Welcome.  Today I had happy mail from Marilynn.  She sent some handmade scrabble tiles and much inspiration.  Thank you Marilynn.  Hugz

Marilynn made the scrabble tiles on recycled packaging and that reminded me about the MFP challenge so I rattled through my brown scraps and found this fine fellow already stamped on a piece of tan card.  This is a stamp from Kort og Godt.  I used a black base card, added the stamped panel and the scrabble letters to make my sentiment.  I used a piece of checked ribbon and tied a double bow.

Thanks for these and the inspiration Marilynn.

Mrs Santa's Sunday Best

Hello.  Welcome. Feeling the jingle again.

This is Unity's Santa Baby coloured with promarkers and glitter glue.  The sentiment is from Country Christmas Snowman.  I used two Cheery Lynn Snowflakes 2 in white on the base card.

Decided to try it in blue as well.   That's actually a very traditional colour for scandanavian christmas.

So what do you think?  Red or blue?

N is for Nautical

Hello.  Welcome.  It's been a glorious weekend here and I have spent most of it in the garden.  Then I remembered I hadn't altered my playing card for the letter N!!  Arrrgggg.  Where did that fortnight go?  So here it is.  Pretty simple this time.

I covered my card with Authentic papers, birds for the top, waves for the bottom.  I used Mermaid Lagoon on the wave paper and Stormy Sky distress to edge the bird paper.  I used an mdf viking ship and anchor from Things to Alter.  May regret not saving that for V is for...........  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Star Bright

Hello.  Welcome.   I went all red, white and blue and mirror card again.  Photographer having her own challenges.............

I cut these stars for the other starry card but didn't use them.  These were cut using the Spellbinders star dies.  White card base, strip of blue mirror card, some red mirror stars and a birthday sentiment by Unity.

Wot Yacht

Hello.  Welcome.  Thought I'd try colouring on kraft inspired by the MFT Camp Create challenge of the same name.

I decided to make a tag using this cute little guy from Panduro's Boys set.  I coloured with sharpies and a white gel pen.  The sentiment is a Unity stamp.

I cut my tag using a Taylored Expressions die.   I added some nautical ribbon from Crafty Ribbons and a cute little metal yacht and fish charm.

Rock Star

Hello.  Welcome.  Still looking at the MFT Camp Create challenges.  Decided to play with some in laid die cuts.  And a tiger.

I made this inlaid diecut stars panel using Sizzix Primitive die and red and blue mirror card.  I embossed the stars with Sizzix Damask embossing folder.  The shape of the line of stars reminded me of the colander.  So I decided to make another no template rocker card.

So I cut the bottom of the star panel and mounted it on a white rocker base.  I stamped MFP Tiger on red mirror card and fussy cut.  The happy birthday is from the same MFP set.  The stars are a stamp from Rubber Dance Textured Flower set.   It rocks!!

Works Well to a Deadline

Hello.  Welcome.   I have been looking at the Camp Create posts over at MFT and have decided to finally get my craft on.  There are actually 5 post but I am finding they work very well together.  I decided to have a go at the masking challenge using this cute Unity stamp.

This is Unity My Main Squeeze.  I stamped the girl, masked and then, inspired by the background bonanza video, used the heart group to stamp the background with VersaMagic Red Gold ink.  Then I masked the top of the card and did a colourwash with Tea Dye distress ink.  I used the same colour for the bear and her hair and Picked Raspberry for her clothes.  I cut the panel with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die and mounted on a raspberry pink panel.

Rock And Rolling Ginger

Hello.  Welcome.  Good morning!  Well, what a great start to the day.  The sun is shining.  Woke up with an idea and managed to make it up before I finished my first cup of tea!  Small miracle.  Any card that comes together in under an hour is a small miracle around here.  And it's a Christmas card so this one might be a contender for card of the crazy season.........

I used the tutorial for an no template rocker card from MFP.   Of course this now means my steel colander has found it's way to my craft room and may never make it back to the kitchen!!   I used stamps from MFP Holiday Tags and Nutcracker sets.  Love that cute ginger dude.  Also managed to use patterned paper from the stash.  I thought red green and stripes was a good chrimbo combo, courtesy of DCWV.

Thanks for dropping by.  I'm off to enjoy the sunshine.  Hope it's shining for you too.  Hugz

Love and Hugz

Hello.  Welcome.  Today someone I care about a lot was having a bad day.  So I decided she needed some bright fun encouraging words.  The owl and crocodile got put to one side and I stole the ATC bases I was working on to accommodate some wordy beasts.

Sure to bring a smile.

I stamped my ATC's with Lost Coast Domino Border with Mermaid Lagoon distress ink and then highlighted with Blueprint Sketch.  Then I cut my wordy beasts from bright card and paper pieced.

Cheery Lynn Penny the Pig looking very cool in yellow and blue.

Cheery Lynn Koala Ken sending hugz.  A bit of a squeeze but I couldn't bring myself to clip his ears.

Cheery Lynn's Happy Hippo.  Personally I think he looks like a Henry.

Humming Happy Birthday

Hello.  Welcome.  Over at Stamplorations Shery has just celebrated her 40th birthday and the Stamplorations girls are having a linky party.  So I made a card for you Shery.  It's a bit late for the actual event so I went with a best wishes sentiment.  Hope you had a lovely day.  Hugz

I used Stamplorations large Hummingbird and did a clear resist (see Deepti's post) with Stamplorations Stars stencil.  The best wishes is from the Birds and Blooms set.  I coloured the bird with distress inks.

Four Fried Eggs

Hello.  Welcome.  I wanted to try this weeks challenge over at MFP where they want us to try a tie-dye technique.  So I grabbed some watercolour paper and some distress inks and gave it a go.  To say I was unimpressed is an understatement.  So I chucked it in the corner and went and did something else.  But when I came back to it it seemed to have become something interesting.  Maybe it needed drying time.  Anyway, here it is

A little bit wild.  Looks like peacock feathers in a sea of pink.

I decided to take part of it and make an ATC.  I've used Unity stamps and inked the edge with Peacock Feathers distress ink.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

The Mojo Made Me Do It

Hello.  Welcome.  Weirdness continues, but it's after midnight, so I'm blaming it on the pumpkins.

Maybe this could be for my friend Arthur, but there's more chance it's for the CASology challenge where the cue word is ART.  I used Your Next Stamps sketch.  The tiger bloke is a combination of MFP Tiger and Nutcracker stamps coloured with bright distress inks.  Well, I use the word 'coloured' in a loose sense.  I used a white pen for the line and the word Art is Rubber Dance Stitched Alphabet stamped on white card and fussy cut.  Curiously strange, but I'm sure Arthur will love it.

W is for Widgeon

Hello.  Welcome.  Another fortnight has whizzed by and I am making a final hour link to the Craft Barn Challenge.  The letter is W, and I have gone with Widgeon, a wild duck.

Well.......... he looks pretty wild to me!!!   I covered my playing card with a handmade background paper sent to me by Kristiina.  Isn't it gorgeous!  Thanks Kristiina.  Then I stamped YNS Quackers, added a quiff, coloured with some wild and retro sharpies and added him to my card.
