Hello. Welcome. Today I went out to get a few stamps with Norwegian phrases. I don't have many of these but I had seen some nice ones and intended to bite the bullet and pay the price. Then I arrive to find birthday celebrations and 30% off. Blessed be and happy dancing. The unexpected bargains are all the sweeter. So I bought a few sets, just to save a bit more!! ROFL Crafter thrift. As we say in my family "How can you afford not to buy?"
Over at Joan's Touch the recipe this week was to use black, a die cut and embellishments. I also saw a post over at Simon Says Stamp on custom panels and really wanted to try this technique.
I started with a gold base card. I cut an arc in a piece of black card and layered it onto the gold base. I just used a craft knife to cut my arcs so they are not perfect. I cut Poppystamps Bountiful Sunflower from the same card as the base but left the cuts in place. The sentiment is one I bought this morning from Kort og Godt M-218 and translates as "and the greatest of all is love". I embossed it in black onto the gold card and then added a black mat behind. I also added three mini gold brads.
