Dance, Love, Live

Hello Nomad friends.  Another sunny day here in southern Norway so I'm keeping to the shade and I moved a few things into the garden so I could sit quietly and craft away.  I recently got some people dies from Paper Discovery and decided to use this lovely ballerina with a left over flower frame.

I backed the flower frame with some heart patterned vellum and glued it on my white card base.  I added the sentiment and the ballerina, die cut from Bazzill pink textured card.

Thanks for dropping by.  Now where're the ice cubes......Hugz

Bearly Whispering

Hello Nomad friends.  A productive day in the garden and a card!  What more could I ask for??

I used a brown card base and cut a panel of kraft card with Gummiapan Stitched Square die and Poppystamps Clever Keypad die to cut the 9 squares.  Such a cute little die.  Then I used stamps from Poppystamps Christmas Friends for the scallops and Love Note for the bear.

Just Breathe and Thanks

Hello Nomad friends.  Yep, me again!  It might be a new personal record!!!  I should be potting up tomatoes, but first..........

I've made a masculine card using Poppystamps Whittle Cutie Dog and big Thanks dies.  The thanks die has a shadow, but I cut them both from dark blue card for a faux emboss look.  I love the cute details on the whittle dies and especially love these large whittle dies!!!  I have both the dog and the cat but dogs always feel more masculine to me........

I used very fine glitter brushed onto the raised parts of the thanks die.  Difficult to see, so here's an angled close up.....

Deer's Leap

Hello Nomad friends.  Another card from my desk delving.   I built these scraps on my cutting mat, which is green, and declared them a thing.  Then I moved them onto a white base card and it just wasn't floating my boat.  So then I had to go on the hunt for a green base and luckily found another of these green foil cards.  After having these beauties in my stash for many years, nay, mayhaps decades, they are suddenly in demand!!   Does this mean I am justified in trying to buy some more???  Or should I just be grateful they will soon be 'ex-stash'????   They certainly do make for extra pretty.....

The deer, possibly a Stamplorations die, is cut from very pale blue glitter card.  A pink glitter circle for the moon.  The ripped pink bit emerged from the scrap pile ready inked, I just needed to stamp that Happy Christmas Norwegian style sentiment and build it all on that lovely green foil base.

Pedro is a Star

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm starting to get that end of the month feeling.  Challenges to enter and not many days left to do it.  But me and Mr Mojo decided to take advantage of a glum afternoon to make a few makes.  I found a new challenge this month so I thought I'd have a go at their fun lift.  Here's my card using Crafty Individuals stamps.......

I cut a mask using sizzix Primitive Star die and used distress ink to colour inside my star frame on a white card base.  With the mask still in place I blotted with a damp cloth through a star stencil to remove some of the ink and stamped with Crafty Individuals Star Background.  I stamped Crafty Individuals Pedro on white card with black archival, fussy cut and added him to the card.

Ho Ho HO!!!!

A Day At Zombie Beach

Hello Nomad friends.  I hope you are having an awesome day.  I spotted the new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and it finally made me sit down and make this special beach scene.  Welcome to Zombie Beach.  It's a bit like Bondi, just more un-dead..........

Bwahaahahaaaaaaaaa!

I couldn't resist these Art Gone Wild Zombie Beach characters when I spotted them a little while ago at a shop in Norway.  I blended distress inks blue, yellow, blue on a slimline textured base card.  The sign is DRS Beware of Zombies stamp.  I used Cheery Lynn dies for the zombie hands, stars and nuclear bottle and sizzix dies for the sentiment and black crosses.  The fish is a magazine die.  I stamped, fussy cut and coloured my Art Gone Wild zombies with distress markers and gel pens.  I also used a white galaxy marker to add some 'waves', since the zombie hands were too busy to wave LOL.

Hope you enjoy my Zombie Beach as much as I do.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Flowers and Cookies

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh, it's hot, hot, hot here.   Hope you are getting plenty chill time.  Today I have some more inspiration for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Funny and/or Cute Challenge. I've gone with both options; cute Lost Coast Designs Gnome and funny Carmen's Veranda sentiment.

I used Lost Coast Designs Flower Background, stamped with Cactus Flower archival on white card and cut it with fancy frame nesting dies.  I edged all the cut edges with purple ink and mounted on a lilac pearlescent card base.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Eat a Cookie sentiment and added the stamped, coloured and fussy cut Gardener Gnome.  Isn't she adorable!!!!   I wonder why gnomes wear pointy hats??  Do you think they are cooler than caps????  Maybe I should give one a go??

Don't forget to check out all the awesome inspiration from the Lost Coast Designs team, cos they really do make awesome stuff, and link up your stamped Funny and/or Cute anythings for a chance to win Lost Coast Design dollars!

Strange Little Fish Card

Hello Nomad friends.  Another predawn experiment, playing with Rubber Dance Something Fishy stamps and Darice Retro Circles embossing folder, and a card was born.

I don't often end up where I thought I would, and often don't have a clear view of where I am going.  Might possibly be the story of my life.  I usually just go with the flow, finding a thing or a couple of things that look like they might go together and seeing where they lead.  Definitely the story of my life!  I stamped the Rubber Dance fish, blue on blue with a little masking.  Then I decided it needed some texture so I embossed it and smeared the raised areas with grey ink.  A little white gel pen on the eyes and I mounted the panel on a 10cm x 15cm dark blue panel.  Grabbing a base card, it was only 10cm x 10cm, but actually.........  I'm calling this artist easel style.

If you are making anything with Rubber Dance stamps add it to the June album in the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge for a chance to win a voucher to the shop.

If you are making masculine makes that involve embossing folders why not join the fun at Let's Squash It! - Make It Manly

If you are using real stamps and it's fun and/or cute then do check out the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity - Funny/Cute Challenge.

Desk Diving

Hello Nomad friends.  The eternal quest to clear the desk continues.  Decided to try a new technique cos like they say 'variety is the spice of life'!!!!  Stuck my hand into the bottom of a pile and pulled out some small treasures.  So this lovely Memory Box Frosted Christmas tree became the centre point of my card.  This is my most used Memory Box die and also my most favourite Christmas tree.  I also found a scrappy triangle with this Rubber Dance sentiment stamped on it.  Actually there seemed to be a large number of triangular bits so stay tuned.......

I tried a few different basecards but decided this mini-slimline green foiled one worked perfectly.  There was a tiny bit or damage top left, but I remembered a gold mirror die cut circle had been part of my small treasures haul so I re-found it and added it over the boo boo.  Perfect.

I am sure there will be some other scrappy cards to follow soon.

Get Well Butterfly

Hello Nomad friends.  I woke up early today.  05.15!!!  Not sure it rates as a time to get up, but I decided to give it a go.  Since I was the only one moving around I wanted to keep quiet but do something, so I went into my craft room and started moving things around on my desk.  I have a bazillion things on my desk and a few of them really grabbed Mr Mojo's attention, which was pretty phenomenal bearing in mind the early hour.........

I found this green embossed green inked panel, and also just the butterfly embossed on a scrap of white card which I had also inked with green, so I decided my original plan had been for them to be a thing.  I fussy cut the butterfly and stuck it onto the embossed panel then added some wonky layers for an interesting frame effect.  I stamped Get Well Soon sentiment from Rubber Dance Stamps on a green scrap and added a white scrap mat.  The embossing folder is Gemini 3D Butterfly Effect.  A satisfying start to the day!!

Under A Starry Sky

Hello Nomad friends.  I have some inspiration today for the Lets Squash It! Make It Manly Challenge.

I used a piece of starry designer card and embossed it with Hunkydory magazine Snowflake and Star embossing folder.  The bear is a Simon Says Stamp stamp, stamped with Sky Blue archival and cut with co-ordinating die.  He is walking on silver glitter tape ground.  The sentiment is built into this stamp.  Ain't that great!

There are already some gorgeous makes in the Lets Squash It! linky and there are also some fab techniques being shared so do hop over and check em out, and don't forget to leave a comment or two, we all love a comment LOL.

Boys, Dogs and Football

Hello Nomad friends.  I've been thinking about this card for two weeks. I know that cos the Marianne Designs challenge is about to close!!!   Just call me last minute!!!!!   Anyway, here we go.  The theme is sport so I rolled out the football playing dog.  Wanna play ball????

Isn't he adorbs!!!

I started by stamping the ball from the Marianne Design dog set on a piece of Marianne Design corrugated card to make my background panel.

I cut a piece of Marianne Design designer paper and used a Marianne design scallop circle die to cut the aperture for the co-ordinating stamp.  The dog is stamped on bazzill bling card, fussy cut and I added a few gel pen highlights.  Then I stamped and fussy cut the ball.

Where Sand Meets Sea

Hello Nomad friends. Have you seen all the Tropical inspiration over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity??  Some amazing projects from the team so far this month and some lovely entries in the linky gallery, but we would love to see more.  Anything tropical, and don't forget to stamp!

Tropical always makes me think sun,sea and sand, so another blue and yellow creation from me.

I blended a blue and yellow distress ink background.  I stamped the blue tone on tone with Lost Coast Designs Pondscum Background and the yellow tone on tone with Carmen's Veranda Sun Tiles Background.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut Lost Coast Designs Swimsuit Girl, added her to the card and finished with Carmen's Veranda Live in the Sunshine sentiment.

Going Wild Cubed

Hello Nomad friends. A few more ATC's I made.  Well, since I was in the mood, and I'd spotted these lovely Penny Black On Safari die cuts that one of my Card Chain Challenge friends sent me.  See, sometimes you don't only get a fab card!  Sometimes your Card Chain Challenge friend sends some little goodies.  It's not a requirement of the challenge, but it is nice isn't it!  Die cuts are popular cos they are flat and don't weigh much.  Since I had three different animals, in three different colours, I made three ATC's!   Cubed cubed LOL.

I used a yellow card base and the idea was to do three different colour treelines.  Luckily Mr Mojo was on point and remembered colour rules!!!  It turns out yellow plus lots of ink colours makes brown!!!!   I was OK with the Dandelion archival, but had to abandon all the pinks and reds and even the pale green.  It's always worth checking the colour on a scrap, or backside, when using colour bases.  So Sepia and Library Green to the rescue.   I used Crafty Individuals 561 medium tree off-block to make the tree background and also stamped the tickets from the same set.

Space Food

Hello Nomad friends.  It's been a busy and productive day.  I used NBUS.  I used scraps.  I finished up the last bits of glue in three glue tubes and binned em!   The desk is looking better.  I put stuff away as I finished with it.  I am building good habits.  And Mr Mojo was humming along nicely.  A good day.

Gotta share these ATC's.  Are you smiling yet???

This little spaceman is from Gemini To The Moon stamp/die set.  He comes with a matching die but I don't like the white border so I fussy cut him x3.  The moon stamp is also from the same set.  I made the backgrounds by splatting green and blue Aztec pearlescent paint on yellow card.  I cut my ATC's and edged with orange ink.  I had cleaned my brush along one side of the yellow card and decided it would make a fab moon!  Perfect!!!  Stamped and fussy cut x3.  I decided we needed more stars so picked three from the Gemini set and stamped em all over with dandelion archival ink.  Seems aztec paint is self masking!  Aren't they adorable!  They make me happy.

Poodle In Paris

Hello Nomad friends. Having a bit of a craft blitz today with an online meeting hosted by my local shop.  The desk is a mess so I am hunting through the pile for things to use.  Stumbled across a Prima design paper sheet and decided it would make a pretty tag base.   Since it's covered in Eiffle Tower prints I started thinking Fi Fi poodles and dug into my die cut box to discover some poodles I put together from scraps.  Perfect!!!!

The tusen takk (thank you) is a Rubber Dance stamp.

The scrap I started with and tag I cut from it.

Brum Brum

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy Friday!!!  It's the 10th of the month so time for a new challenge at Let's Squash It!   This month we want to see masculine cards using any embossing folder.  Awesome inspiration from Jo and our fabulouse guest designer this month so do pop over, check those out and join the fun.  I've made a birthday road trip card using sizzix Road Signs embossing folder and some motorbike stamps from Kort og Godt.

I covered my folder with Tea Dye distress ink and embossed a piece of book paper.  Then I tore and inked the edges and mounted on a mottled aqua card base.

I stamped and cut the motorcyclist using the matching die and stamped the tyre and sentiment on the base card.  Brum brum.........
