Girl With a Pearl

Hello Nomad friends.  I've been down and out a few days with the dreaded lurgy.  Hope you are avoiding it.  I'm catching up with the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity party where the challenge has just changed to Walk of Fame - stamped projects featuring famous people.  I really hope this will spark some interesting creations.  I know a lot of you have stamps of movie stars, scientists, classic portraits etc, etc, etc.  A long as it's a famous person, real or fictional, and real stamping is the focus of the project then hop on over and link it up.  I've been playing with Maria today, better known as The Girl With The Pearl Earring (Johannes Vermeer c.1665)

I used Carmen's Veranda Girl With Pearl and stamped with Manganese Blue archival.  I love the semi-silhouette look to this stamp and that pensive look.  I masked her and stamped part of Lost Coast Designs Daffodils Background at an angle using Sky Blue archival ink.  I used a thin pen to add a hard line to the edge of the daffodil image and edged the stamped part of the card with the Manganese ink.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

  6. What an unique card. I love the painting this stamp "comes from" and how unique to get to stamp it and make an own creation with such a beautiful silhouette image! The angled frame you created adds an even more artistic look to your card. Thank you for joining us at Less Is More!
