Destination Spooky House

Hello.  Welcome. Well, October sure has skedaddled by and tomorrow is the most bootastic day of the year.  I hope you have managed to get your spook on.  I'm sharing my final creation for the 31 Days of Halloween celebration over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  I used the very new Witch 2 stamp, and if you are a Lost Coast Designs fan then you should check out the new section cos there's some brand new and really fun, and creepy, things going on.  Just saying.......  

I used Yourba Adire background stamp.  Ain't it beautiful!!  And I love this witch!  So many lovely details and dangly bits.  She looks like she's having a blast on the way to the Sizzix die cut spooky house party.  Full details over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and don't forget the 31 Days of Halloween and Cats and Dogs challenge linkies are open until the end of the month.  That's tomorrow!!

From Birdhouse to Doghouse

Hello.  Welcome.  It's the day before the Spookiest Day of the Year and I'm going all orange and black.  

Isn't that little woof just adorbs!!!!   I've made an ATC using stamps and dies from Marianne Design.  

I started by stamping the birdhouse on orange card and embossed with black powder.  I cut it with the matching die.  Then I used a 'wing' die as a guide and drew some lines to enlarge the door.  I fussy cut, added a piece of black paper behind and also saved the 'HOME' sign to put over the door.

I used Making Memories Spook Alley papers for my ATC base and cut the border from black card.  I stamped and embossed the dog on patterned paper and added more colour with Ripe Persimmon distress ink and black and red sharpies.  The 'waf' is from the same set as the dog.

Looks Can Be Deceptive

Hello.  Welcome.  Don't you just love time.  It flys, it drags, yesterday was summer time and today it's not!!  Such a lovely flexible inflexible thing!!  Today in Norway it's a new day, but over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity it's still yesterday! and I am sharing a little something for the 28th day of the 31 Days of Halloween.  

I've used Lost Coast Designs gorgeous Owlynn and made a deceptively soft looking Halloweeny card.  But she has her owl, and her Book of Shadows and maybe, if she smiles, she will show off her fangs!!  Or maybe not!

Incrementally

Hello.  Welcome.  Sssh!  I'm supposed to be doing something else but when I posted my last card I happened to see Etsuko's post on the Paperartsy blog.  Flushed with my initial 'stamping platform' success I decided to try a bit of shadow stamping.  

Well, I like it!!  

I added a piece of grid paper to my IKEA frame and positioned my card and HP1103 stamp.  I stamped with black archival, moved it a cm and stamped with Ripe Persimmon.   Nice!!!!  But I thought the gap was a bit big so I moved it back a bit, stamped with Dried Marigold, moved it back a bit and stamped with Mustard Seed.  (no picture sorry, it was too blurry!)

I thought the black had suffered a bit so I put the card back in the original position and restamped the black archival.  I stamped the sentiment from SIDD1 and used the distress inks to make the sunburst pattern and edge the card.

Dragonfly Kisses

Hello.  Welcome.  Paperartsy have a stamping platform challenge.  I have ye olde IKEA double frame, which I keep meaning to modify slightly or see if I want to spend my pennies on the prof version, so I figured this was a great time to give it a whirl!!  

My idea was a stamping platform would be a great save for solid stamps, cos often they are difficult to get a really good image on.  I used this solid leafy branch stamp from Paperartsy Eclectica 04 and stamped it in three shades of green distress ink 4 times.  Three would have worked but I was having fun!!  Then I has a eureka moment - stamp kissing!!  I grabbed the dragonfly stamp from Hot Picks 1105, inked it with black archival, stamped it on the leaf stamp and then stamped the leaf stamp on the card again to give a bit of texture to the leaves.  What fun!!  Saves cutting a mask!!  I used a fine black pen to go around the edges of the leaves to make them pop a bit more.  I stamped the Rubber Dance sentiment in green ink and added a drop of crystal lacquer on the end of the bottom leaf.

Simply Scary

Hello.  Welcome.  CASology's cue card word this week is Scary.  Well, you have come to the right place!! 

I used Lost Coast Designs Evil Eye and a black card base.

I started by stamping Evil Eye on a piece of book paper that I had coloured with distress inks and added some details with red and white gel pens.

I extended the tree and coloured with a brown Promarker.  More white gel pen and some more distress inks.  I fussy cut, removing the leg on the rhs of the tree.  This adds to the CAS look but I think it also makes the image look a bit more ready to spring!!!

I die cut a yellow and a black circle.  I embossed the yellow circle with Emerald Creeks Ancient Amber baked texture embossing powder and added the black circle over the top to give me a spooky eclipse.  Boo!!!!!

Santa's Truck

Hello.  Welcome.  I was lucky enough to win this stamp and die set at the Rudolf Days challenge a few months ago, and since it's Rudolf Days again, I thought it was time I used it.  I've made a masculine xmas card in traditional colours.

I used a gold textured base card.  I cut a piece of white hammered card with Stamplorations Snowy Stitched Hills die.  I stamped the truck, the pile of presents and the tree, coloured them with Promarkers and used the dies to cut them.  This is an unbranded set but I liked that the dies cut really close.  Thanks Maureen for this lovely set.

I Got That Double Trouble Feline

Hello.  Welcome.  Gosh, double trouble and triple ripple!!!   I'm over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today.  It's Day 22 of our 31 Days of Halloween celebration, AND we have a Cats and/or Dogs challenge going on as well, AND today sees the start of the 2018 Cat Lovers Hop and Lost Coast Designs is one of this years sponsors!!!  So hop here, there and elsewhere to check out my project details, and all the feline fun and find out how you can win yourself some Lost Coast dollars!!   

For me October culminates with a huge thanksgiving/harvest/pumpkin celebration and I made myself a little Trick or Treat sign to add some festive spook!!

I've used Carmen's Veranda adorable Tabby Cat and White Cat, and Lost Coast Designs License Plate Alphabet and the beautiful Circle Frame stamp, and lots and lots of scraps for my sentiment.  The purple scraps box is looking quite empty!  Hurrah!!

Strings of Beans

Hello.  Welcome.  Let's have coffee!!

I used a piece of Oh I Love This Patterned Paper and think it might be Basic Grey?? as it just seemed to fit the coffee theme.  I stamped and fussy cut the Unity Girl stamp and coloured with Promarkers.  I used a scrap and cut the tag from Stamplorations Tag O'Coffee set, shortened it a bit and tinted it with Tea Dye and Walnut Stain distress inks.  I cut the Stamplorations sentiment Java Great Day from a scrap of gold mirror card.

On Wings She Flies

Hello.  Welcome.  The Rubber Dance challenge has moved to fb and I have made a little inspiration piece using the colours, red, orange and purple, and also the theme, greeting card.  

I stamped Rubber Dance Large Postoid with Royal purple ink and masked.  Then I took the two large Maple stamps and starting with Fossilised Amber, then Spiced Marmalade, then Ripe Persimmon and finally Worn Lipstick distress ink, I stamped then randomly to make my leafy background.  I used my waterbrush to add Wilted Violet distress around the postoid frame and stamped and embossed the sentiment from Beautiful Words on a piece of red card.  I cut it out and added some black archival to the edges.

Young Rocker

Hello.  Welcome.  I love this image and it's a perfect card for a young rocker I know.

I stamped the music staves three times and part of the sentiment once on a white card base with black archival.  Then I stamped the unicorn image on book paper, coloured with Promarkers, gel pens, a silver plot marker and fussy cut.  Stamps from Aall and Create #103.  Rock on!!

Chi Chi Wow Wow

Hello.  Welcome.  Here's a little canine fun with Carmen's Veranda Chihuahua stamp.

Moosely Confused

Hello.  Welcome.  CASology have Punctuation as a cue word this week.  This cute moose came to mind.

This is Lost Coast Designs Carri's Menagerie large Moose.  He just looks so puzzled!!!  So I stamped him with a recently reinked black Archival ink pad, added a Sizzix die cut question mark and a little wash of Stormy Sky distress for him to stand on.  Standing on a stormy sky is probably confusing for everyone!!

There are a whole flock of these cute silhouette animals over at Lost Coast Designs.  They come as a pair in two sizes and are just adorbs!!

Quirky Sunday

Hello.  Welcome.  Rain, rain, rain, rain!!!  Well, what can you do??  Let's craft!!  I decided to perk myself up by going a little quirky.  And blokey as well!!  Me thinks the day is looking up already!!!  It's always a good day when I get a masculine make!

 I started by finding my shaving foam and reinker experiment from last weekend.

Hmmmm!!  This has been hanging around a week but thrifty crafter felt that there was still some potential here.  So I pulled another print from it.  It was a bit dried out and had lost it's foamy texture but I got to use it once before it suffered a total and irreversible collapse.

OK, it's not a WOW background but I thought it would make a perfect base.  And it smells nice!!

I grabbed a Sizzix embossing folder called Numbers, smeared Tea Dye distress ink on it and embossed my panel.  

I made a border using some pale blue card, a Sizzix Tribal border die and this PaperArtsy stamp from the Dolls 1 set.  I cut the card and inked the number bit of the stamp and randomly stamped with Salty Ocean distress ink.  Then I pieced all those little bits back in.  OK, not really!!  Life is too short.  I cut a piece of the blue card and backed the diecut with it.  

A couple of bits of ephemera made with the Paperartsy Dolls 1 set and a Stamplorations stitched tag die from the Tag O'Coffee set.  I cut the tag and stamped with the two postmark stamps from the dolls set with Salty Ocean DI.  I stamped the male doll on brown paper with black archival and fussy cut him.

I added a scrap of plaid paper and it all went together like this on a brown card base.  The sentiment is from Paperartsy Ding & Dong Plate 5 cos sometimes quirky needs direction.
