Inky Friends are The Best

Hello Nomad friend.  Gosh, suddenly it 13°C!!  Let's hope this really is Spring!   And with spring comes flowers and butterflies......   OK, maybe hoping for a little much there, but I do have a purple primula in flower in the garden today!!!!   So here's a clean and simple birthday card featuring Rubber Dance Sketchy Flowers 2 and one of the Inky Friends butterflies to celebrate.

I used a cream card base and stamped the butterfly slightly off the card edge with black archival ink.  Then I masked it and stamped the flower cluster with Prickly Pear archival for a soft look.  I watercoloured with light blue and green distress inks.  The card base wasn't totally happy with the water, but I placed a heavy book on it just before it was totally dry and it straightened out quite nicely.  To finish I stamped the Happy Birthday with Library Green archival.  Again, a little softer look that the black.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

  7. Yeah, temperatures are crazy, two weeks ago we had snow and now it's 17ºC outside with the crocuses and daffodils blooming ! Your card illustrates so beautifully spring and gives us hope with these gorgeous colours. Love the soft green tone of your scene. Absolutely beautiful ! Thanks so much for sharing and for playing along at Less is More.

  8. Yes we have the beginnings of spring in my neck of the woods too. The crocus's are in flower and the daffodil's are budding. I can't wait until the garden is in full bloom.
