Trick and Treat Advice - 31 Days of Halloween Day 31

Merry met spooktacular friends.  Here we are with the the final minutes of October.  Tonight's make isn't so spooky, but this sentiment cracks me up and I think it's wonderful advice, especially if you are out and about this evening when the veil is so thin.

I used three Blue Knight stamp sets for this card; Motherhood, Dragon Sentiments and Window in the Wall.  I stamped Window in the Wall on subtly patterned card using Watering Can archival ink.  I turned over the card to use the subtle dotty swirl pattern and stamped the sentiment and the girl from the Motherhood set.  I had to mask off her arm, because in the original stamp she has it raised above her head.  So I masked it, stamped her, stamped her arm separately, fussy cut her and the arm and put it back on by her side.  A pretty good adjustment.

Merry met midnight friends.
Tonight I'd like to share a scrapling.

I stamped Blank Page Muse Jack O'Lantern Cat hot air balloon stamps on a scrap of white card using black archival ink.  Then I stamped the sentiment.

I simply used a green and pink gel pen to colour the cat's eyes and nose.

Such a cool stamp.

Pumpkin Party - 31 Days of Halloween Day 26

Merry met Halloween fans.  Today I have been busy cooking and decorating. It was my annual harvest/thanksgiving party this evening.  26 people turned up to celebrate our friendship, another year, the produce from the garden and all other good things.  The star of the show was my modest pumpkin display.  No record breakers this year, but not the worse year I ever had.

Here's the star of the show, grown by me, carved by my man.  We call him Ed.

Here he is with his buddys.  Our real cat was not available so we got a stand in.......

I made chilli, rice and sweetcorn bubble bread, salad by my muse.  Had to refill these bowls a few times!!!  Many hungry peoples.

They were pretty quick into the cakes LOL.  I actually only made the pig shaped biscuits.  All the rest were brought by other family and friends.   Gotta love the party spirit in Norway.

That's Familiar - 31 Days of Halloween Day 25

Merry met midnight friends.  You know, the job description doesn't always give the full picture.  I mean you all see those witches whizzing around on brooms with a pristine black cat sitting prettily behind.   They don't tell you about the rogue spells that bounce off the cauldron and hit you while you were sunning yourself on the windowsill, or the potions that spill over onto your tail, or the weird dark encounters.  It really can affect your familiar shape.

Here's Lost Coast Designs Witch Cat.  On his way home after an evening terrorising the forest denizens.   That's one of those cat that you cross the road to avoid!!   Scary dude!!
The background is Lost Coast Designs Trees stamp.

Trick or Treat - 31 Days of Halloween Day 23

Merry met midnight friends.  A quick card tonight using an MME chipboard pumkin.

I cut my white Bazzill base card with Stamplorations double stitch rectangle.  I smeared some Salty Ocean distress ink on an acrylic block, spritzed with water and stamped it on the card.  Then I inked the edge of the block and made some lines.  I added the MME Mischevious chipboard pumpkin.  I cut the words from MME Trick or Treat page and used a couple of mini black brads to attach it to the card.

Thankful Poodle

Hello Nomad friends.  Welcome.  The cats are taking over blogland, but tonight I am sharing a poodle.  This die cut is an oldie, but a goodie!!  This is one of the red Sizzix dies.  I wanted to join the Unstampabelles challenge so I had a little shuffle through my die cut scraps and LO! a card was born.

I wouldn't usually call a card base a scrap, but this piece was a bit of a strange size and a bit wonky as well, so I scored it and trimmed off the bottom and it works perfectly as a bit of a tall skinny for this cool poodle.  I used the piece I cut off to die cut Winnie and Walters Thanks and, after drawing two lines with a pen, I returned the die cut piece to the bottom of the card for that faux-emboss look.  I found the die cut circles and arranged them in an ascetically pleasing manner on the card and added the paper pieced poodle.  Three times fast on that one please.  Googly eyes and a few sticky gem stickers and it's done!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Back soon with more Halloween fun and probably more cats.  Hugz

Happy Catoween - 31 Days of Halloween Day 22

Merry met midnight prowlers.  Isn't it great to dig out the neglected Halloween supplies.  Found this cute halloween cat die from Cheery Lynn.  If you like this one and find it then snap it up cos Cheery Lynn aren't Cheery Lynn anymore.

I made an ATC.  I painted it purple and added some texture paste which I coloured with lime paint through a That Special Touch bamboo stencil.  I cut the cat from black card and used orange neon card for the eyes.  The boo is part of another Cheery Lynn die, cut from the neon card and mounted on a black card scrap.

Batty Boo - 31 Days of Halloween Day 20

Merry met midnight friends.

I used a piece of MME Something Wicked paper.  It is grungy cream with Something Wicked This Way Comes in a nice gothic black script all over and some black glitter stars and bats.  I folded it into a pillow box and inked all the edges with brown Archival ink.  I used a Sizzix die to cut some extra black glitter bats.  Then I made the tag!!  I used a scrap of brown card, cut with a small Taylored Expressions tag die and stenciled some bats using Tando Haunted House stencil and brown chalk ink.  I stamped Tim Holtz bat on the same brown card using the brown archival ink.  I added him to the tag.

I folded his wings over and when you open then up there's a little boo surprize!!  So cute.

Toil and Trouble - 31 Days of Halloween Day 19

Merry met good folk.  Lost Coast Designs has a 31 Days of Halloween celebration, so link up your stamped Halloween makes for a chance to win Lost Coast Design dollars!  They also have a Pets challenge running.  Your pets can be cute and fluffy, but if they are spooktacular why not link them to both challenges?  Lost Coast Designs is also sponsoring the Penny Black and More challenge where the theme is Pink.  So that's three chances to win Lost Coast design dollars!!   Remember all three of these challenges require real rubber or clear stamping and the theme as the focus of your project.  I decided to try for a pink Halloween card.  Ravens are pets, right???

I cut a hot pink card panel with a stitch rectangle die and used Sizzix Halloween word dies to cut the Toil and Trouble words.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs MRaven2 with black archival.  I rotated the stamp so I could extend the branch, used a black marker to fill in the gaps and coloured with a brown Promarker.  I masked the raven on the branch and stamped the flying MRaven1.  To finish I added a little touch of white gel pen to their eyes.  So who do you think is Toil? and who's Trouble?  LOL.

Who, Hoo and Whoo - 31 Days of Halloween Day 17

Hello my midnight friends.  Tonight he owls are out in a trio of colour.  I made some Artist Trading Coins using Dylusions Heads and Tails owl.  I like to make my coins in threes and I used slightly different colours for each.

Ears are important to an owl so after I stamped them on grey woodgrain card I cut them so I could have them in front of my circle die when I cut the coins.   Then I coloured with Promarkers.

Using a black Promarker I added two lines for a body and coloured the area between to match the owl colours.

I used a black Promarker to add a slightly different pattern to the background of each coin.
