Hello blog friends. Hope the day is going well for you. I have been having a go at some colour techniques as shown by Roni. Roni shared a whole host of fab techniques in January and I decided it was about time I gave it a go. I chose the tissue paper technique. Take some tissue paper, scrunch it up, stick it to some card but make sure you don't flatten out all the lovely crinkles, then ink it up and add a bit of sparkle. I decided if you are going to give it a go go BIG. Here's my finished sheet....
This shows the colours and texture. I used various distress inks and then rubbed some silver ink over the crinkles. It's quite blingy and a bit difficult to photograph.
I have a PaperArtsy stamp, Ding and Dong SIDD5. Over at the PaperArtsy blog the challenge is a recipe. Linda Cain has been inspiring us to stamp on all sorts of things so I decided to use my stamp on wood.
What's that then?? It's a coil of wood which is the by product when you turn a wooden reel. Like a cotton reel. I got this many years ago after a visit to one of the only remaining factories making wooden reels. See, we use it all eventually.
I wanted some text so I stamped Hampton Art's I Love Thee KK2619 and then the PaperArtsy bird from SIDD5, both with Memento Tuxedo Black. Then I backed it with black card and mounted the whole thing on a card made from my favourite Basic Grey card Curio Victoria cur-3025. Both sides of this card are great but I used the less patterned side for this card.
The Basic Grey card has some nice textural effects printed on and I love the way the colour grades, but that's not so obvious in the picture.

So artistic and great texture!
Love all the textures on this card, the tissue technique looks interesting and gives a wonderful effect to your card.

This reminds me of what I sometimes do (crinkling up copy paper, covering in Brilliance ink, crinkling again and then going lightly over with a gold pad to hit the high spots (the uppy bits of the crinkles) try it) and is a lovely background to one of my favourite stamps. I love the Ding & Dong series and you have made him loo great - the perfect foil for which is the lovely colourful background you have created.
Thanks for entering this in our challenge at Artful Times, lovely to see you again.
Hugs, Neet xx
