Just Breathe

Hello Nomad friends.  Last night I hosted my annual Harvest/Thanksgiving party, also known as my Pumpkin Party.  I decorated the room in a suitable fashion, made lamb curry, rice and nam breads for 22 people and received the gift of much cake from friends and family.  We ate and partied til the cows came home, slept, got milked and went out to pasture again!!  OK, maybe not quite that long, but it was fun.  I feel blessed, and slightly exhausted!!!  There was also a digi meeting being hosted by Hobbylageret this weekend, so I buckled down this afternoon and made some makes.  I am not usually a fast crafter, but I tried.

I made an A5 AJ page.  Used distress oxides and stamps from Rubber Dance for the background.  Then I used a Panduro stencil and Black Soot distress and lightly stencilled the girl.

The words are also stencilled using TH Christmas Words stencil.

Black and White and Christmas Tree

Hello Nomad friends.  A couple of challenge prompts inspired this card.  Also gave me a chance to test drive these Creative Expression fancy rectangle dies.  I will probably do something different next time cos I think I may have a little off true cut, but the tree helps hide my wonky layers LOL.

I used a black card base and cut the white layer with Creative Expressions Indian Ocean Background dies.  The tree is Memory Box cut from green card, embossed and highlighted with green ink.  Then I stamped the Papirdesign christmas greeting with green ink.

Looking for Cake

Hello Nomad friends!  Halloweeny is coming!!!!  I have this scary dude for you today.  Lost Coast Designs Taurus is wandering around his labyrinth.  I have paired him with this background and sentiment previously, but they suit him so well!!!

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Taurus, masked him and stamped Lost Coast Designs Fourth Dimension Background with red archival ink.  I did a bit of wiggly cutting each side of the panel, edged it heavily with black ink and mounted on a red card base.  Then I stamped the Carmen's Veranda sentiment, chopped it up and added it to my card.  There he is, ready to cause chaos, or maybe just steal the cake if you let him!!

Rumbled

Hello Nomad friends.  Today I have the sequel to yesterday's naughty feline antics!! The witch is back and cat's been rumbled!  Or maybe he's is just wary cos the flying monkeys haven't been locked away yet......

I used the new Lost Coast Designs Gnome Witch on a Broom stamped and coloured with distress markers.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Yoga Cat 4 and gave him a pale grey watercolour wash.  I masked the witch and the cat and stamped part of Carmen's Veranda Flying Monkey Background.  Then a little simple distress ink blending to complete the scene.  Run cat, run!!!

Pink Bamboo

Hello Nomad friends.  I have a little pink creation and inspiration for the current Let's Squash It! Double Emboss challenge.  I have used two embossing folders to make the background for this card and I really recommend this fun technique.  It can make a great background awesome, if you pick the right folders LOL.  Today I used Darice Retro Circles and Crafts-Too Bamboo folders with an oriental beauty from PaperBabes stamps.

So pretty!   Hop over to the Let's Squash It! Orange and Ginger

Hello Nomad friends.  I found a new to me place to play on fb and they wanted Christmas in Black, White and Orange!  Sometimes these things grab Mr Mojo and give him a swifty shake.  Many Norwegian sites also like to see inside the card decorated.  Not something I often do, but I stretched myself a bit cos, like I said, Mr Mojo was all shook up, Uh huh uh!!!

In order to deal with the inside decoration I made a trifold card.  Here it is closed up.

Opened out it looks like this.  I used black Bazzill Dot card for the base.  Then I gathered lots of black, white and orange scraps and Papirdesign God Jul, Gingerbreadman and Football Pattern dies and got busy with the Big Shot.  I also used a Papirdesign stamp set for the sentiment and also the little stars in the center of the big stars!!!

Keeping Off The Rain

Hello Nomad friend.  It's the 10th of the month so time for the new challenge at Let's Squash It!!  This month the theme is double emboss.  I did a Technique Time post the other day with some tips and ideas so do check that out.  Here's a card I made using one of the panels that I showed in that post.

I used a plaid embossing folder that came with Lisa Horton Inspired to Create issue 68 magazine.

I inked the flatter side of the folder and embossed my off white card with Vintage Photo distress powder.  Made me think industrial....

I inked the edges of the panel and added it to a kraft card base.  I die cut Sizzix Umbrella Man and Creative Expressions chain from black card, and added some bronze flower sequins and half pearls.

Thanks for dropping by.  Do hop over to the Let's Squash It! blog and check out Jo's fabulous make and join the fun this month.

Check Your Boobs

Hello Nomad friends.  It's October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Have you checked your boobs recently??  With so much chaos happening I know regular routines are disrupted, but we need to keep an eye on these things.  It's also the 8th of the month and I have a Technique Time post over at Let's Squash It!!  I'm investigating double embossing and here's the UFO that became a finished object today.....

I went pink, in honour of the whole boob thing.  This Unity stamp is making her second outing this week, but she is rather sweet isn't she.  I've used two embossing folders in the background and a little subtle Spun Sugar distress ink.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hop over to Let's Squash It! and check out my Technique Time post and we will be back in a couple off days with the new challenge.  Hugz

It Moose Be Love

Hello Nomad friends.  They say giving is better than receiving and I think they may be right.  It's fun to make people happy by surprizing them with a gift.  I often surprize people with gifts cos it usually takes me so long to get things organised that by the time the gift arrives the person has totally forgotten about why they should be getting something in the first place.  Surprize!!  Anyway, enough of my bad memory and slow habits.  Here's something you may not know about my story.  I moved to Norway to be with my man.  Here's a card that sums it all up!!

Yes, that's right, we are very deer to each other!!!  I just got these Christmas Ephemera 1 from Stamplorations and it includes these two deer.  Well, they look him and her to me, and they are very Norwegian, although the wild ones don't tend to wear scarves, and then there's the whole heart thing, Stamplorations Clustered Heart die cut from red and brown card.  The deer are standing on some ripped book paper cos Unstampabelles want that as a twist, and I used a slightly grungy beige base card.

Go Rams

Hello Nomad friends.   52 Weeks to Christmas, of which there are so few left, want a tag card.  Shaped cards always add a touch of fun so I decided to give it a go.  I actually cut the tag card base a few days ago and it, and a few other UFO's, have been hanging out on my desk.  I wanted a nice big image to colour so I rummaged through the Unity stamps for a winter girl.

I cut my card base from Kort og Godt patterned card using Stamplorations large Stitched Tag die.  I stamped the Unity girl, coloured her with distress markers and fussy cut.  I liked the blue and gold so I cut a Papirdesigns vertical God Jul (Merry Christmas) from gold and blue scraps.  The gold was a bit bright so I used a text stamp and Dandelion archival to add a bit of texture and tone it down at the same time.  I found some gold ribbon and used the Dandelion ink to tone it down a bit as well, which also brought out the pretty texture.  I was gonna go with a brad, but then I found this pretty chipboard heart that seemed perfect.

The double sided card is paler on the inside so I edged it all with brown ink and returned a couple of pieces of the dark brown card at the bottom to make two pockets.  I cut two old fashioned pre-printed tags and slipped them in the pockets to make a pretty picture, but a gift card would probably turn this card into a nice present.

Thanks for looking.  Hugz

Forever Friends

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the annual 31 Days of Halloween celebration over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and the team are stamping up spooktacular makes every day.  Today it's my turn and I teamed Carmen's Veranda Happy Skeleton with this awesome saying......

Yeah!!  Friends forever!!!!!!

I made a smeared distress ink background using Spiced Marmalade, Wilted Violet and Cracked Pistachio.  Then I randomly stamped three of the stamps from Lost Coast Designs Pieces of Calligraphy set with the same inks to give some nice texture.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Ghost Friends sentiment with black ink, stamped, coloured and fussy cut Carmen's Veranda Happy Skeleton and added him to the card.

Thanks for dropping by.  Link up your stamped anythings to the 31 Days of Halloween fun for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.  Hugz
