Moosely Pink

Hello Nomad friends.  The end of the month is nigh so time to get an entry into Mo's Rudolf Days challenge.   Got this fun Moose stamp from Jo and wanted to keep it pink for one of the Scrappesyken challenges.  Hmmm, pink pudding........

This Woodware Christmoose stamp is tall and skinny so I went with a DL tall and skinny card.  I used pink snowflake patterned card to make my card base.  I stamped the moose on pale pink card, coloured with various pink Promarkers and distress inks and used pale pink glitter glue for that festive feel.  I used Stamplorations Snowy Hills Stitched die to cut a scrap of hot pink card and stamped the sentiment.

Birthday Tiger

Hello Nomad friends.  Found a tiger lurking in the scraps box so put him together with a few other bits and bobs and Dave's your uncle, a card!!

I haven't used this MFP tiger for a while but he is rather magnificent isn't he.  Stamped and embossed with black powder on yellow card and fussy cut.  I found the frame in the scrap pile on my desk and added it to a Kort og Godt Retro Gul base card.  The sentiment is a printed strip which I edged with yellow ink.

A Day In April

Hello Nomad friends.  How are you holding up in these strange times.  Some days the surreality of it all is just overwhelming.  April has a lot of significant dates for me so I have decided to document a few of them.

I made a mini album page

I used black bazzill 12 x 12 inch sheet and Green, Blue and Silver Aztec paints and had a splat fest!!    Looks quite galactic!!!

I filled all the page pockets with my splatty background and then added that particularly fetching picture of myself.  I coloured a piece of card with green brushos and added some gold Aztec paint smears.  I die cut the leaves and added some pen details.  The flower was stamped and embossed and I added some brusho sprinkles.  I used a typewriter for the date and journaling.  I added a shrink plastic Poodle on my jacket cos I am obviously having a poodle sort of day!!!  Poodle stamp by Rubber Dance, flower stamp by Uniko.

Thanks for dropping by.  Keep safe, stay well.  HUGZ

Ye'll Nae Ta Our Freedom........ Haggis McGnome

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy birthday to me!!!!!!
Today is my birthday, so what better way to celebrate than share some art with my friends.  I've used Lost Coast Designs Viking Gnome, although he really made me think of Braveheart!!!, Lost Coast Designs Crackle and Fruit Pods Backgrounds and this oh so cool, oh so wonderful sentiment from Carmen's Veranda.....

I started with a blue panel and stamped Crackle Background with Sky Blue archival ink.  I stamped Fruit Pods Background using Prickly Pear archival on green card.   I cut along part of the design to use as a grassy hill.  I stamped the sentiment and embossed with black powder.  The Gnome was stamped, coloured with distress markers, fussy cut and added to the scene.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you have an awesome day.

Tag It

Hello Nomad friends.  Another sunny day spent mostly in the garden.   I might even be looking a little pink!  Talking of pink........  Here's a tag I made using up some of the bits I had left over from the giftbox I made the other day.

I used Maja Design Denim and the Girls papers and a picture from the same series.  I used a pink flower brad, pink twine and Aall and Create die to cut some interesting shapes from some other bits of the scraps.  I had a rectangle left so I inked the edges on that as well and added it for some more interest.   I used Picked Raspberry distress ink for inking of edges.  The butterfly is a metal charm from Korthobby.no
I made this as a double tag using the scrap of Pion pink card I had left for the back tag.  Another scrap of the star patterned paper to make the giftcard/money pocket.

Bunny Birthday Wishes

Hello Nomad friends.  We have had a lovely sunny day.  Lunch in the garden and an evening barbeque.  Delicious.  Didn't think I'd have time to craft today, but I was super inspired by a sketch and Bonny Bunny said Why not, so we gave it a go and the result is quite pleasing.

I used a teal diamond patterned card for the base.  I added a cake doily, Rubber Dance Bonny Bunny and two of the Large Spirals.  The metal flowers are from Korthobby.no and the sentiments were cut from a patterned paper sheet.  The top one says congratulations.  The bottom one says have a fantastic day.  See, your Norwegian is coming along nicely.

Hello You

Hello Nomad friends.  These days of social isolation make us more aware of absent family and friends.  So I made a card to send to a friend I haven't seen in a while.

I used a lime green card base and also die cut the Stamplorations hello from a piece I trimmed off.  I used a dark green bazzill dots circle cut with a stitch die, a metal sunflower charm from Korthobby.no and the girl is a Marianne Design Snowsie, stamped, fussy cut and coloured with Promarkers.

Let's Hear it for the Easter Bunny

Hello Nomad friends.  Easter is over.  Thanks goodness says the easter bunny!  I wonder why he isn't as appreciated as Santa.  I mean, look at all those chocolate eggs he has to make and distribute.  OK, here in Norway they don't have chocolate eggs!!!!  I know!!!  Terrible isn't it.  I tried eating the cardboard ones but it's just not the same.

I am loving the Lost Coast Designs Gnomes and they go perfectly with the Carmen's Veranda sentiments.  This guy is killing me with his cuteness.  And we all really would feel better with chocolate and 8 millions dollars!!!!

I made the circle using 4 different washi tapes.  Actually love this and wonder why I have rolls and rolls of this stuff and rarely use it.  Then I stamped, coloured and fussy cut Lost Coast Designs Bunny Gnome and added him to the circle.

The moment when you do a close up of a close up an realise you picture wasn't as sharp at you thought it was!  Sorry about that.  Just wanted you to get a closer view of that cool washi background, gnomey cuteness and cool cool sentiment.  It's a big sentiment so I went with a DL pre-printed pre-cut base card from the stash.  I thought the leaves added perfectly to the spring feeling.

After The Weekend Is Over

Hello Nomad friends.  I have had a crafty Easter joining in some flash challenges on fb.  One of the last ones that posted was to use the scraps that resulted from the Easter Marathons.  Well, I thought this was a great idea cos usually they would either lie in a pile or get shoved onto Scrap Mountains.  Yep. my scrap mountain has friends!!!  Anyway, I didn't get to it last night so I got up bright and early and had a rattle through the pile.  Must have had a few lying there before I started cos a couple of hidden treasures appeared that I didn't generate this weekend.  So I chucked a few bit together, called it a design and ooohhhhhhh!!!  Magic!!!!

The green base card was cut special, and I don't really count pieces big enough to make a card size mat a scrap, but this yellow piece was left over from the weekend frenzy so.....  The girl is Unity, stamped on a white scrap, coloured with distress inks and fussy cut.  The pink flower and gold circles were bits I cut and didn't use.  The green piece with the blobs has been lying a while and was too cute to throw.  The film strip is a PaperArtsy stamp and I found it already stamped on a scrap of vellum at the bottom of the pile.  There is also a pale green jaggy border overlapping the vellum.  I was about too throw that but it was a very cute shape so I decided to add it to my design.  Really pleased with this card.

Maybe I need to have another look to this pile!

I used Denim and the Girls papers and the picture sheet from the same series.  The base is a Pion pink sheet.  I used Spellbinders star dies, Storyteller gold brads, pink twine and Aall and Create die for some interesting shapes.   I used Picked Raspberry distress ink for inking of edges.

The box is approximately 16 x 11.5 x 2.5 cm.

I used Denim and Friends papers and the picture sheet from the same series.  I used Spellbinders star dies, Storyteller gold brads, and Aall and Create die for some interesting shapes.   These papers co-ordinate nicely with Peacock Feathers distress ink.

Cheers!!!

Hello Nomad friends.

I stamped Gummipan's Distressed Circles twice down the LHS of a yellow card base with blue dye ink.  I stamped the Happy Birthday background on a piece of yellow card and cut with Gummiapan's Square Stitched die.  I used Gummiapan Linked Circle die and cut some white foam and used a couple of the circle clusters to support the Cocktail glass.  The glass was stamped with black archival, fussy cut and coloured with distress markers, Promarkers and glitter glue.  I also added some glitter glue on some of the RHS circles in the background.

Quirky Little Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  Over at the Gummiapen fb group they are having some fun Easter challenges.  One of them is a card with an animal, two fun sentiments and three strong clean colours.  I went a bit alternative Christmas.......

I cut Gummiapan's Hoega Rein (tall reindeer) from some scraps of yellow card.  They come as a set so I used them both.  I die cut the Circle frame from another scrap, coloured with Indigo Blue Promarker and stamped 'the Most Wonderful Time' in dark blue ink.  I edged and made ground with the same blue ink.  The I stamped the Dear Santa sentiment on a scrap of the same blue card, fussy cut and edged.

Easter Means Candy

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy Easter.  Hope you got lots of Easter nam nams to play with.  I made this cute little candy bag to give to my man.

I made my bag using a rectangle piece of yellow vellum and joined the short ends to make a tube.  Then I stuck down one open side using double sided tape.  I die cut Impression Obsession Leafy Background from a scrap of green card and cut the sides of the frame to release the bottom section of the die cut.  I cut Impression Obsessions Bunny from some coral coloured card.  I used a Dusky Pink Promarker to colour some of the pieces to give some contast.  I added the leafy bit and bunny to the bag and used scissors to cut an egg shape from a picture of a Tiffany glass image I had on an old calendar.  I wasn't getting many sweeties in my bag when it was flat so I sealed the top at right angles to the bottom.  More room for extra candy and it also sits very nicely.

Take care, thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

An Interpretation of The Situation

Hello Nomad friends.  Covid-19.   Novel.  That means it's a new strain of virus.  Slippery.  That means it mutates easily and is therefore unpredictable.  Infectious.  That means you can pick it up from another person.  Incubation.  That's the time it takes for you to develop symptoms from the time you become infected.  Flu has an incubation of 1 to 4 days.  C19 has an incubation of 1 to 14 days.  That means you can be exposed to it and not know for 14 days.  Think about that.  How many people would you usually interact with in 14 days??  How many loved ones??  How many strangers??  If you pick up this virus you could be spreading it to everyone you meet for two weeks before even knowing you are sick.  We have some immunity to flu, our body recognises it as a threat.  We also have vaccines.  We have no natural immunity to C19.  We have no vaccines.  Some people's immune systems will not recognise it as a threat.  Their bodies will not fight it.  They might die.  Some people have a lowered immune system.  Their bodies may not be able to fight it.  They might die.  The only thing we can do is buy some time by social distancing and staying home.  Time for the scientists to find a vaccine.  Time for our health systems to help the people who need help.

I made a banner.  There's Gummiapan Unicorn all alone in the middle.  Two meters (pennants) either side.  Well done Unicorn!!!  I used Gummiapan's large Old Tag die to cut the pennants, using a bit of cutting plate jiggling to avoid cutting the tag 'hole'.  I stamped the pale blue ones with Gummiapan's distressed circles stamp and blue archival ink and edged with blue Promarker.

Unicorn is social distancing.  Be a unicorn, stay home!!!
