WoW Tweenmas

Hello Nomad friends.  Playing with a little white on white for a serene scene.

I used ripped white paper for the snowbanks.  Fox from Gummiapan 2023 advent calendar.  The tree and moon are a single die from the 2022 calendar.  I cut it twice to allow me to clip the tree free and get a solid moon.  I stamped a tiny merry christmas with ice blue chalk ink to keep it subtle.

Not Christmas!!

Hello Nomad friends.   Getting a little crafting done in the between days.  I always feel a little dislocated after the run up to Christmas, all that good food and festivities, and then we spend a few days pending, waiting for the New Year celebrations to kick start the year.   It's a good time to relax and reflect and recharge.  I am already on my perpetual resolution to use more scraps.  Scrap mountain continues to grow.  I did make myself a new system of boxes that stack together on my desk for the smaller pieces and it seems to be working well.  It keeps them handy and in my eye-line.  Lots of scraps in this card which was inspired by the Memory Box challenge to use patterned paper.

I used Memory Box Backyard Wren and Palace Oval Frame dies and lots of scraps of patterned paper.  I added a layer of ice lolly box thick card behind the wren to make it stand out a bit more.  Found this fun printed sentiment bar in the pp scraps which was a perfectly sized offcut from a printed sheet.  A bit busy, but then wrens are a busy sort of bird.  Love watching them flitting around in the garden, especially at this time of year when they are diligently looking for snacks.

Early or Late

Hello Nomad friends.   I am still in the jingle mood.  Does that make me late?  Or early??  I probably should flip over to something New Year but these little Gummiapan gnomes were too fun to skip.

They are hanging around on some more of that lovely hammered white card for that snowy feeling.  The bobbly 'window frames' are a part of a rainbow die set in the 2023 Gummiapan advent calender.  The gnomes are also in this years calendar.  The merry christmas stamp is from two years ago when they were still doing a stamp advent calendar.

Penguins Party

Hello Nomad friends.  Merry Boxing Day!!   I hope you had an awesome Christmas and are enjoying your day.  Did Santa bring you crafty goodies???   I treated myself to the Gummiapan dies advent calendar, which I have done for a few years now, and because I like the fun to last I'm on the special extended 31 days version.  Yes, it's well worth the money, if you like dies and Gummiapan.

This is obviously a magic door set into a huge snowball by a secret society of albino penguins!!!!!  Terry Pratchett would have had a good name for it!!

The door was in the 2023 calendar, as was the ring I built my wreathe on.  The wreath, too big for the door so dismantled and reassembled, and bushes from last year's calendar and the penguins and bow are standard dies available anytime.  All the calendar dies are only available in the calendars.

Any Excuse For A Party

Hello Nomad friends.  I am over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!  Winter Is Coming they say but here it's definitely arrived!  Time to PARTY!!!

Love these Old Ladies from Lost Coast Designs, and I made the kinda cool background by stamping Lost Coast Designs ATC Doodle Circles with ice blue chalk ink and then randomly stamping parts of Shrubbery with Midnight archival ink.  I also smeared the edges with the midnight ink. I stamped Carmen's Veranda Winter Is Coming and Lost Coast Designs Let's Party on the background and added my fussy cut lady.  Then I splashed around some glitter, cos you gotta have a bit of sparkle.

Join the In The Deep Midwinter challenge and don't forget to hop over to the blog so you don't miss anything!  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so check back and join the fun.

Bauble Town

Hello Nomad friends.  Have you got your jingle on yet??   It's all about winter all month over on the Lost Coast Portal To Creativity.  I hope you will join us with your stamped anythings featuring wintery things.  I grabbed a classic combo for me, Carmen's Veranda Snow Cowboy and Southwest Town.  I love putting these two together.

I was going for a bauble effect...... but Snow Cowboy had other ideas and hopped out of the frame for a nice dimensional look.  If you pop over to the blog you can get the step by step photos and tips.

I hope you have time to join the In The Deep Midwinter Challenge.  The linky is open all month and don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so check back and join the fun.

It's All About the Cake

Hello Nomad friends.  This was supposed to say Merry Christmas, but let's admit it, it's actually all about the cake!!!!

I stamped Aall and Create Santa, masked him and stamped the two reindeer.  Santa and Rudolf look keen and the guy behind is just hopeful!!!   All coloured with Promarkers.  All the dies are Studio Light, from one of their big journal making die sets.   Never really looked so closely at the accessory dies.  The squirly wiggle is a bit of a challenge to weed and stick, but I went with some messy glitter glue on the back figuring it's Christmas and a bit of glitter never goes amiss.  Well, it went amiss, but no one cares when it sparkles, do they??   The sentiment is from Lost Coast Designs.

A Cat Called Joy

Hello Nomad friends.  This ones cracking me up!!   This is exactly the look my cat gives me when she gets to the door and discovers the weather to be inclement.

The cat is from Katzelkraft stamped and coloured with distress markers.  The background is a piece of patterned embossed paper.  Unluckily, or maybe luckily, this was the only piece I could get and it's going fast!!   Good job because it's rather cool.  I made a little identity tag by die cutting a scrap of card with a tiny circle die, colouring with gold sharpie and stamping the word Joy.  Joy and Merry Christmas are from Aall and Create stamp sets.

Take care.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Tie Dye Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  How's it going??  All ready for the madness?  Or just ready for the madness to be over??

I've used Visible Image stamps for this card.  The t-shirt was stamped on some mottled paper and fussy cut.  Then I covered it in glitter glue cos you need a little glitter at Christmas. I cut the stamped panel with a rectangle stitch die.

Take care.  Stay warm.  Hugz

Snowflakes are Falling

Hello Nomad friends.  A quick share with another little Christmas card.

I used blue Bazzill with holes in smeared with white ink for my background.  The snowflake is a Gummiapan die from last years advent calendar cut from blue glitter card and I cut another circle in the middle and stamped the Gummiapan sentiment

'Dear Santa
just leave the credit card under the tree'

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow....

Hello Nomad friends.  I am still squeezing in a few more Christmas cards.

The snowman is available from Gummiapan.  The sentiment was in the 2021 Gummiapan stamp advent calendar.  The background is blue Bazzill that came with holes in.  I thought it would do for snow and smeared it with white ink.  The foreground is a piece of printed and embossed paper I found.  Unfortunately they only had one piece so it will be making small appearances.

Hello Nomads friends.  I think my new word is peace.  Maybe if I use it on everything then the message may travel.  I've combined sizzix Retro Santa and Hero Arts peace Bird Word stamps with matching dies.  The background is some blue metallic mirri card embossed with Crafters Companion Sashiko embossing folder.

Truck Full Of Trees

Hello Nomad friends.  It's cold and snowy here.  Hope you are keeping safe and warm.  I treated myself to the Gummiapan Advent calendar.  I've bought this one a few times now.  It's a bit pricey, but well worth the money if you like dies and Gummiapan's style.  Today I made a card using the truck and tree that was in day 4.

I cut the tree 4 times and the truck once from an empty food box which had nice white card inside.  I coloured the die cuts with green, red, yellow, black and silver sharpie markers.  I found a scrap of bookpaper with a ripped the edge and ran a line of glitter glue along it.  This is a mini slimline size card.

Ho Ho Ho

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 2nd of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge reveal.  I sent my card to Brenda in the UK and used the sketch and winter options.

I made this card while I was in the UK on my hols so it's desert island crafting, as I call it when I am away from home with limited supplies.  I rattled through a few sets of papers and found these pretty snowflake papers, some sparkly snowflake stickers and this lovely santa chippy sticker.

Moving Mountains and Crossing the Divide

Hello Nomad friends.  I made this.  Inspired by blue and gold and the idea that the flapping of a butterflies wings could cause changes to the universe.

I used a blue textured foiled panel and embossed it with Memory Box Grand Galaxy embossing folder.  Isn't it wonderful!  I have had my eye on this one for a while and decided to treat myself.  I was trying to think what to add to it, including maybe nothing because it is a rather splendid background, when Memory Box Gloriosa Butterfly dies caught my attention.  I cut the butterfly from gold mirror card and added a black body.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it with a pennant die.

Frida Gets Around

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm back!!  My trip to the UK was a huge success with family catch ups, good food and relaxation.  I mostly survived without much internet use and it seems you survived without me too, so all is well.  I got back at midnight and geeezzzz.  Baby, it's cold outside!!   I have obviously de-acclimatised.  I am sure I will get used to it soon, or more hopefully it might warm up.  Anything over 0°C would be appreciated.  Anyway, while I was away I managed very little crafting, but I did make and share this little beauty on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  The Round and Round challenge is still open until 23.59 PST 30th November, so I hope you can find some time to join us.

I used Lost Coast Designs PMC Circle Frame stamp in black on white card and Carmen's Veranda Frida Face stamped and fussy cut with a touch of colour.

Fair Warning, Coffee and a Winner

Hello Nomad friends.   Distracted today with a virtual scrapmeet.   A good thing to be distracted by.  Also my turn over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity with some inspiration for the Stamp on Pattern Paper challenge.  I am finding this such fun, and the rest of the team are making such gorgeous projects.  If you haven't checked the blog do hop over and treat yourself to some eye candy.  Today I have combined a few stamps to make a coffee themed card.

I used Lost Coast Designs Mayan Stele stamped on the stripey paper which I cut with a fancy slimline die.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda My Coffee sentiment and added a fussy cut Lost Coast Designs Robust Dancer with a paper pieced dress.

Join the stamping on patterned paper challenge. Alter the pattern with your stamps, paper piecing, use it as your colour, etc etc. Real rubber or clhear stamping and theme must be the focus of your project for a chance to win Lost Coast $$$$$'s. 1st - 14th November

and a winner.........

Thanks to everyone who entered my special Janis Tribute Challenge which was hosted over on the Christmas Kickstart blog in October.  It was an awesome month and I am quite flabbergasted with all the games and events Jo had running along with all the amazing sponsors.  The prizes have been awarded so make sure you hop over and see it you are one of the lucky winners.  It was an absolutely amazing undertaking and a wonderful remembrance of Janis.  I was giving away an extra little prize for people who entered my tic-tac-toe fun and left a comment here on my blog that they had entered.  43 cards were entered in the linky and I tallied the comments and Mr Random says

Grungy Deer Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  The spooky season is over and I am turning firmly in the direction of Christmas.  I've made a grungy mini slimline card using Gummiapan stamps and dies.

Love these long legged deer die cuts.  I think these were one of the first products I got from Gummiapan.  I stamped trees, circles and splats on the white handmade paper background and also stamped splats on the base card.

Layered Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  Seems there's lots of people out for the count with seasonal lurgies.  If you are feeling a little low I hope you feel better soon.  I caught a cold and have been feeling a little rough and uninspired this week, but I feel on the mend today which is a relief.  Good idea to get these things out of the way before I go on holiday in a week or so LOL.  So, back to the craft room and I made a little Christmas, cos Christmas is coming, and included a beverage, cos it's the Coffee Lovers Blog hop!!!!!

I was looking at this after the photo and realised I meant to get another layer in there to offset that green squareness.  Something patterned and lighter.  Ah well........   Should have at least embossed it!!  I did emboss the first red circle, and that does give a nice lift to untextured card.  The toppers are Hunkydory and I added some die cut holly for a bit of something.  Maybe it needs glitter glue.  Everything is better with glitter.

Big Bear

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 2nd of the month so time for the Card Chain Challenge Reveal.  34 awesome card makers sent cards winging their way around the planet in October.  I sent mine to Alice in Finland

I used the options of bear, friendship and something fluffy.  From the top......  Black card base stamped with Taylored Expressions Starry Sky stamp and silver embossed.  The mountains and jaggy snowy trees? are sizzix dies.  A couple of white pieces cut with a stitched landscape die.  The bear is Studio Light Moonflower die, cut from silver mirror and that fluffy grey stuff.  I then used the matching constellation die to cut the fluffy stuff so the silver mirror could shine through.  It's also a bit offset for some bright edges.  The sentiment is from Lost Coast Designs Travel Quotes set.

You can check out the whole reveal HERE

You can sign up for the November Card Exchange HERE.

This Old Truck

Hello Nomad friends.  Whoot!  Whoot!  November already!!  It's cold enough to snow!  Oops, it's trying!  Hopefully it won't stick around.  Still, it's a good excuse to grab a cup of your favourite warm beverage and cosy down in the craft room.  1st of the month so a new challenge starting at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and we want you to Stamp on Pattern Paper.  This is an excellent opportunity to use up some scraps.  I am sure I will be paper piecing any day now, but first..........

No colouring was used!  Carmen's Veranda Old Truck was stamped on some muted plaid paper and fussy cut.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Tall Trees Background on a scrap of dotty card.  I was overjoyed to find this scrap cos I thought I had used all this patterned card.  It's just such a happy pattern and don't the trees look cool.  I used a scrap of green pp that had a diamond pattern to stamp the Fruit Pods Background.   That 'v' shading under the back wheel is from the pp.  I put the three pieces together on a white card base and stamped the sentiment from Lost Coast Designs Party Words.

https://lostcoastportaltocreativity.blogspot.com/2023/11/challenge-178-stamp-on-patterned-paper.html

I'm hoping we will get lots of entries for this fun challenge.  I mean, you got stamps?  You got scraps of patterned paper?  Put those babies together and make some pretties.  And don't forget to check out all the awesome and amazing ideas from the team.  We post all month, every month.  Hop over and maybe leave us a hello.

Big Cat Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  Time is flying but you still have a couple of days to join lots of challenges.  The Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge is still open and there are lots of amazing sponsors.  The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity also has a Cat Challenge, but don't forget to include real stamping on your catty anything.  I made a cute little Christmas card using a Hunkydory topper and an embossed snowflake background.

I embossed the snowflakes on some black ribbed paper and smeared with blue distress oxide ink.  I mounted it askew on a yellow card base and smeared the exposed corners with the same blue ink.  Add the topper and sentiment and done.
