Janis' Tribute Challenge

Hello Nomad friends.  This month we are remembering our friend Janis Woolbright who passed away in January this year.  Many of you may have known Janis from her Cat's Lovers Hop, or crossed her path on various challenges, or you may have been the recipient of love and comments from her.  Jo is hosting a memorial Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge over at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge and today we are launching an additional game for you to play along with.  I have gone though some of Janis' blog posts and pulled out a number of cards featuring techniques and themes that Janis liked to use and I have put them together in a Tic-Tac-Toe board.  This game is independent of the main Christmas Kickstart Cat Lovers Challenge and has it's own linky.  You can make a card for the Tic-Tac-Toe and also enter it in the main challenge if you also include a cat, and you can link it up to other challenges on other sites.  This of course means you actually have more chances at all the amazing sponsor prizes that are available this month at Christmas Kickstart Challenge cos there will be a prize for this game too.   Here's the board I put together with Janis' awesome cards.

To enter this challenge make a CHRISTMAS CARD using three options from the board on a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line.  The options are in white writing at the bottom of each picture.
Max 3 entries per person.

Monday, 30th October - 11.55 pm BST

I made an inspiration card using the vertical line Patterned Paper, Scraps and Stamp

I used a brown card base and die cut a pennant shape from christmas tree paper.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Happy Cat on a scrap of watercolour paper couloured with orange distress ink and spritzed liberally with water.  I added a santa hat borrowed from Carmen's Veranda's Elf stamped on a scrap of white and cut Poppystamp snowflakes from more white scraps.
Happy Cat obviously likes snow.

Lost Coast Designs and Poppystamps are two of the awesome sponsors of the
Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge

Remember you don't have to have a cat on your Christmas card to enter the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge but if you do use one it makes it eligible for the main linky too.

If you do enter the Tic Tac Toe challenge pop back here and leave me a comment telling me you entered and I will put your name in a random draw to win Poppystamps Whittle Cutie Cat die.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Oh wow! You've created such a 3d effect like the bottom of your card rounding outwards! I love this. What a gorgeous kitty image and so beautifully shaded. It looks very pleased with itself! Thanks for joining us at the Cat Lover's Christmas Challenge!

This kitty makes me smile! Such a sweet smile on his face, and of course I am partial to tabbies! His little Santa hat is the purr-fect detail, and I like your design with the snowflakes falling on kitty! I'm excited about your challenge, Gail, and will definitely plan to join in! Janis has always been an inspiration, and I love how you selected several gorgeous cards of hers to inspire us! Thank you so much for this!

I love this idea for a tic-tac-toe challenge, Gail and it's lovely to see Janis's cards on the board. Thank you for the offer of a prize for someone entering the special challenge - that's very generous. Your Happy Cat is so aptly named (I have him too) and looks perfect as if he's sitting in a corner waiting for Santa. Lovely work! x

Your gorgeous cat looks so smug in his Santa hat. love how you have used that pennant die too. I have entered the tic tac toe and would love the chance to win that die as I don't have a single cat in my stash! xx

I entered a card into the Tic Tac Toe challenge.

Your card is so cute. I love the image and of course the coloring. When I first saw the card it looked like the cat was sitting in the corner because of the pennant shape die cut. [Bunny]

What a lovely way to celebrate your crafty friend. Love the pops of color of the kitty and his/her Santa's hat. Not sure how realistic it is for a kitty to wear a hat - my kitty hated it. I was persistent and she'd let me take one photo and then bat it off. Thanks for joining us at Die Cut Divas.
