Ready To Party

Hello Nomad friends.   I have my final 2022 post over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and the current challenge is Something Seasonal.  Since the season is progressing to a new year I went with this smoking hot oldie...

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Party On on white card with black archival ink, masked her and stamped Lost Coast Designs Door with magenta archival ink.  I used distress ink, applied a watercolor wash of blue and yellow and ripped the edges for a softer look.  I colored Party On with some neon bright markers, mounted the panel on a white card base and stamped Happy New Year in pink.

You have until the last minute of the year to link up your stamped seasonal anythings for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.

Too Late To Give It Away Better Eat It Myself

Hello Nomad friends.   It's been a while since I my last blogpost.  I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and hopefully you are enjoying these weird in the middle days.  I always feel a bit adrift at this time of year.  The run up to Christmas and the day itself is suddenly over and there's that sense of a new year on the horizon, but it's not quite here yet.   Of course, it's a nice time to try out new goodies if you have them, or just use the old ones to join some final 2022 challenges.   Decorating chocolate boxes is a bit of a thing in Norway so here's a toffifee box I decorated with patterned paper and Poppystamp dies.

I went with a blue theme and used Poppystamps Playful Deer Collage, Snowflake Oval Collage, Shasta Oval Frame without the frame lol, and one of the Pierced Border dies.  The two blue frames were in my stash and I think they were a gift from a crafty friend.  If you recognise them please say hi cos I really like the detail on these and such a perfect colour!!!

Hmmmmmmmm...... chocolate................

It Moose Be Christmas Soon

Hello Nomad friends.  Last minute Christmas card using neutrals and shades of silver.  I particularly like the triple trees and the moon, which is actually a die to cut a rose you have to roll up.   All the dies are from Marianne Design and the tiny Merry Christmas stamp is by Gummiapan.

Starry Snowy Night

Hello Nomad friends.  I have some inspiration for the Let's Squash It Snowflakes and Stars challenge.  I've gone with both using a starry snowflaky magazine embossing folder for the background and sizzix bigz primitive star with matching embossing folder for my big yellow star.

I am sort of housebound today since it warmed up yesterday and we are now surrounded by a sea of black ice!!!   So, safety first, I think I will just spend a bit more time in the craft room.

Take care, keep warm and cosy.

Not Waiting For the Glitter Glue To Dry

Hello Nomad friends.  It's cold.  Christmas is coming, and I still haven't found my jingle.  If you are hoping for a Christmas card they are made and sitting in a box in front of me.  Plan A failed.  Plan B is to get some written soon, and maybe even posted.  And then something wonderful happened!  Who says you can buy happiness.....

I just had to share this little cutie.  He arrived today along with some other lovely goodies.  Isn't he adorbs!!!!   He is called Kawaii Jultomte and he is from a swedish company called Gummiapan.  This is an ATC and the border was cut using Gummiapan's mini-slimline Granbar die.  It's pine branches.  I obviously had to shorten it to fit the ATC, but that was a pretty painless process.  And did I mention how adorable I think that little santa is???!!!!  I've coloured him with Promarkers and glitter glue.

Little Boxes

Hello Nomad friends.  I hope you are warm and cosy.  It's chilly here in Norwayland and we had another inch of snow last night.  We don't usually have much snow here, but it seems to be having a moment.  Me and the hens are hoping that the ground will resume it usual colour soon.  Plan A today is to finish up with christmas card writing so I can get them posted tomorrow.  But first a little self closing box.........

I really like this style of box.  No difficult lid to make and once you have the trick you can knock them out any size.  I used red bazzill for the box base and then some brown scraps that I stamped with baking themed stamps from Poppystamps Cupcake Party set.  I cut Poppystamps Heart Swoosh from a scrap of red and then Poppystamps little boy and girl gingerbread dies from some of the brown scrap leftovers.  A bit of red and gold twine and a Merry Christmas bottle cap and it's ready to be filled with fresh baked cookies.

Another Meercat in the Snow

Hello Nomad friends.  Yep, another meercat!  Well, this guy got left behind the other day and he's been looking at me!   Who could resist...........  We have a new challenge starting at Let's Squash It! today and we want to see Snowflakes and/or Stars.  Sadly I also have to tell you that this will be the last challenge at Let's Squash It! for the time being.  It's been squashtastic, but Jo and I have decided to suspend the challenges after this one.  So if you have been meaning to join the squashy fun now is the time!!!!   Here's meercat in the snow II....

I started by embossing my card panel with Crafters Companions Parquet embossing folder and gave it a really weak watercolour wash with Tea Dye distress ink.  Then I embossed with Hobby Solutions Let It Snow embossing folder and used Taylored Expressions Sugar Cube ink.  My intention was to make the snowflakes pop, but everything got knocked back so I embraced the neutral naturals.  I used irridescent glitter glue on the snowflakes, which worked surprisingly well.  Then I added my Hobby Art meercat and gave him a brown santa hat with some glitter.  Can't have too much glitter at Christmas.....

Hop over and check out the awesome inspiration from Jo and our GDT and don't forget to join our amazing farewell party.  See you there!

Meercat in the Snow

Hello Nomad friends.  Winter is here, at least in our part of the world.  Very chilly and a little bit sparkly outside tonight.  I suppose it snows everywhere at some time, even hot places, so here's a meercat in the snow.

Hobby Art Meercat and Santa hat stamped on scraps and fussy cut.  I used white gel pen and sharpies to add some colour to the hat.  The background is Hunkydory patterned card and I used some twine and a Merry Christmas flattened crown cap for the sentiment embellishment.

Think Like an Elf

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today with some quick cards for the Something Seasonal challenge.  Christmas is coming and it's nice to have a few quick and easy designs and quite honestly, with Carmen's Veranda sentiments and a cute elf it is soooooo easy.........

My elves are fussy cut, but that's cos my elf stamp appears to have run off!!!   Maybe he's helping santa.  Luckily I had stamped a few the other day and coloured them with different colour schemes, so I just fussy cut them.  So, stamp a sentiment on a card panel, or even your card base if you want to be really easy, add your elf and done!!!!  I might have to make some more of these!!!   So many options with the Carmen's Veranda sentiments..........

Rustic Happy Mail

Hello Nomad friends.  It's December!!  I hope you are all keeping well and cosy and crafty.  I am still making Christmas cards, either for this year, or next LOL.  Until I get all my cards written I'll keep adding to the pile.  52 Weeks to Christmas have a fun challenge to be inspired by patterned paper, and since it closes in a few minutes I'd better get my jingle on LOL

I found this lovely mail inspired designer paper that I have had for years.  Isn't it gorgeous.  I love postal stuff.  Always have.  I think it's real sad that the Royal Mail is changing their stamps to include bar codes.  How pretty is a bar code!!!!   So sad.  Anyway, there's a tree on the paper so I used my favourite Memory Box die, Frosted Christmas Tree and cut a tree in green card.  Then I cut one from corrugated to pop it up and decided I liked the rustic kraft look.  So I cut two for added dimension and smeared with TE Sugar Cube ink.  A pretty ribbon bow and a gold pre-embossed die cut sentiment to finish and done!

Follow That Star!!!!

Hello Nomad friends.  The last day of November and I am looking forward to December, hoping it brings inspiration and the arrival of my jingle.  So to finish off the month I want to share this card I made using Penny Black stamps and dies.

I used a black card base and cut it with Penny Black Starry die and smeared salty ocean distress oxide across the die cut area.  I backed the cut stars with a piece of card smeared with fossilised amber distress oxide.  Then I stamped Penny Black We Three Kings on white card with blue ink, fussy cut them and added them to the card.

I'd also like to wish my mum a very happy 80th birthday.  There was cake........

Hello Nomad friend.  A little ATC with Poppystamps dies.

I used snippet of orange corrugated card for my ATC base and embossed it with Poppystamps Leafy Background die.  I smeared the texture and edged with brown ink.   I cut Poppystamps Peek a Boo Fox from a scrap of card, coloured him with sharpies and backed him with leaves cut with Poppystamps Orchard Leaves die from a scrap coloured with Infusion powder.

Queen For The Day

Hello Nomad friends.  Yee haw, I got voted queen at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers so I'm doing a little GDT spot for them today for the start of their new challenge - Q is for Queen!!!  Well, of course, that's me!!!!!!  I hunted for queeny things and found this gorgeous quirky doodle doll from Lost Coast Designs

So I stamped the doodle doll and the Carmen's Veranda sentiment and used gel pens to colour my flying queen.  Then I masked her and when a little crazy with Dylusions spray mists.  A little heavy on the after midnight maybe........

Christmas Tree Squash

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm here with some inspiration for the Let's Squash It! Let's Make a Christmas Card challenge.

Yep, Christmas is coming so grab those embossing folders and make some easy cards with squashy WOW!  Here's mine and I've gone navy and white with lovely scandi texture....

I simply stamped Crafty Individuals Noel Border stamp with navy ink onto a white card panel.  Then I embossed with Sizzix Scandi Borders embossing folder and mounted the panel on a white card base.

You have until the end of the month to share your Christmas cards that include the use of at least one embossing folder.  There are some lovely makes in the linky already so hop over and take a look and leave a little love.  We all need a little love and you never know you could make someone's day so much better.

Harts and Stars

Hello Nomad friends.  I was over at the Crafty Individuals fb group this afternoon watching a lovely little live session by Jean and I decided to take a look through my CI stamps and see if I could actually make something.  Mr Mojo has been hibernating.......   Anyway, miracles happen and I made a card and a tag!!!

I started with the tag and I love the result.  I am doing quite a lot of 'inspired by things on my desk' crafting at the moment.  There are so many things on my desk, and the number just seems to grow and grow.  Now I added lots of CI stamps!!!  But at least I have a result or two LOL.  I bought these lovely Daisy Mae nested arches torn edge dies because of the largest sizes that would allow me to cut nice shaped cards and I love those torn edges!  I used one of the medium size dies to cut a navy tag.  Then I stamped a piece of grey card with Crafty Individuals Inky Script Background and cut with the torn edge die.  I stamped Crafty Individuals Highland Stag with brown archival, fussy cut and added him to the tag.  A metal heart charm and some wool to finish.

Then I switched to stars for my card, mostly cos stars offer easy fussy cutting opportunities.......   See, Mr Mojo is thinking about hibernating again!!!   I cut the navy card base with one of the bigger arch dies.  I stamped Crafty Individuals Seeing Stars Background on grey card and cut it with a large and a smaller torn edge arch dies to give me some faux layer effects.  Then I stamped Crafty Individuals Zentangle Star on yellow card with burgundy ink, fussy cut, layered on a navy mat and added it to the card.

Coffee Parteee

Hello Nomad friends.   I have been wanting to join the mega Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and decided I'd better get my kettle on or I'll miss the frog!!!  So here I am with my first, hopefully not last, entry to the coffee lovers hop.

I based my card on a sketch I found at a new to me challenge.  The fun thing about this challenge, and there are two sister challenges too, is that they are concentrating on ephemera.  Well, if my translation from Dutch is as I understand it.........  Dutch is tricky sometimes LOL.  They want the focus to be pictures or printed images and the such.  This got Mr Mojo's attention cos I have some very pretty little pictures and die cut printed images and this gives me that nudge to get em used.  The base card is Kort og Godt brown with snowflakes designer card.  I used patterned paper and the pretty printed image and sentiment from Hunkydory Festive Treats printed die cut sheets. A little plain red paper and glitter tape and three enamel dots from Papirdesigns to finish.
