Candy Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the last of the month and my blog is super busy today.  Suddenly remembered I hadn't linked up to the Rudolf Days challenge so here's a sweet hot pink offering with a fun sentiment that I am sure we would all appreciate.

I embossed a hot pink card base with Do-Crafts Candy Cane embossing folder and highlighted the embossing with Picked Raspberry distress ink.

I stamped the girl and the Gummiapan sentiment on a piece of white card and die cut with a stitch rectangle die.  Then I had the idea to emboss a single line of the candy canes along the bottom.

The sentiment reads
'Dear Santa, just leave your credit card under the tree'

Charlie in Pieces

Hello Nomad friends.  I saw a challenge the other day for matchbox art.  Now I wouldn't usually do this sort of thing, but Mr Mojo thought it would be nice to think outside of the box, or in this case, inside the box!!!!  So here we are, an altered, mixed media matchbox featuring the gorgeous Charlie Chaplin from Carmen's Veranda.

I actually am in love with this tiny creation!!  For all the details you can check out the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  There is also still time to stamp something with a masculine theme and join the Man Cave Challenge.  Here's a quick look at the inside, which I filed with stars and a Charlie Chaplin magnetic puzzle!!!!

I stamped Charlie on a 3" square of white woodgrain patterned card, added some red Promarker colour, covered with sticky plastic and cut into inch squares.  I also added some thin magnet to the back of each piece cos I thought it would be fun to have a fridge magnet Charlie puzzle!! I stamped Charlie on white shrink plastic, fussy cut and shrunk him.

I covered the inside of the matchbox drawer with black paper, the outside with red paper and attached a piece of red ribbon.  I cut a piece of red foam and one piece of black to fit inside the drawer.  I cut the black piece with a star die and put them in the drawer.

I covered the matchbox cover with handmade textured paper and wrapped it with some sequinned red thread.  I cut a few stars from red mirror card and added my shrunken Charlie.  What a fun treat it will be!

Remember to link up your Man Cave makes for a chance to win.

Chick-a-boo

Hello Nomad friends.  I have been quite slow getting my boo on this year, but the feeling is starting to creep up on me.  So here's a little card for a young man I know.

I started with a piece of navy pearl card and used a small Trick or Treat embossing folder for the sentiment.  The spider is another embossing folder.  I actually flubbed it a bit cos I debossed it, then decided I would get away with flipping it over and embossing it as I originally intended.  Results in a not so sharp spider, but spooky enough!!!  The grey and white bit is a thin Wave embossing folder, embossed on pale grey card and then I smeared with Hickory Smoke distress.  The fence is Memory Box Wrought Iron Gate cut 4 times.  I cut and pieced Poppystamps Large Chickadee from shades of orange and gave him some googly eyes.  A few die cut bats and done!!

Have a Cupcake

Hello Nomad friends.  Grey day needs bright colours.
And cake.....

Artist Trading Coins cut using a 2.5" stitch die from raspberry card.  I cut Aall and Create #13 die from some music patterned card and divided it between the three coins.   I stamped the cupcake from Aall and Create #106 The Mad Heater set, coloured with sharpies and distress markers and added some glitter glue sprinkles.  The 'have a' is from Aall and Create #100 Furry Friends set.

Have a wonderful evening.  I hope you have cake.  Hugz

Let's Call It A Day

Hello Nomad friends.  Today was a day.  I felt all out of kilter.  Things that I expected to happen didn't, things that I expected to work didn't, things to do got postponed, lots of things got started, not many got finished.  It was a day!!  But tomorrow is a new day and it will be better.  I have decided.  So I threw some stuff together that summed up my day.
I'm gonna call it art.

I cut a cabinet shape card from patterned card and smeared with distress and distress oxides.  I cut Gadget Gears from blue scrap, embossed with bottle cap embossing folder and smeared a little Walnut Stain.  I cut Cheery Lynn Barbed Wire and Stamplorations words from dark blue scraps.  I cut Umbrella Man from a scrap of black, slightly textured wallpaper.

This sums up my day.  And I am still waiting for the rain that never came.

For Her

Hello Nomad friends.  In Norway nearly everyone gets confirmed when they are 15.  It's the thing to do, and quite a big thing it is too.  Because of the C-19 all of this was put on hold in May/June and it's all happening this month instead.   I wanted to make some simple confirmation cards.  They are often quite elaborate, but sometimes less is more, or at least enough.

I used Kort og Godt designer paper which has the words Konfirmant printed all over it.  The gold label is also from a Kort og Godt designer sheet that I cut out and edged with purple.

I used a Prima JN Doll, stamped on white card, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  I stamped her dress on some white and gold patterned handmade paper, fussy cut, and pieced it back in.  I added some lace around the neck and sleeves.

King of the Forest

Hello Nomad friends.  A couple of times this week I stumbled across blogs reminding me that it's less that 100 days to Christmas!!  So let's step it up a notch and try for a Christmas card a week.  There are a few blogs that keep us crafting for Christmas all year, and although I know we would love to hang on to summer and autumn, the year is turning and Yule will be here before you can say Dashing Through the Snow.  The Christmas Kickstart challenge is on a white on white theme.  I always find this a bit intimidating but they are allowing pops of colour and gold or silver so I decided to give this very awesome moose die a few silver highlights.

I used a textured white satin card base and white hammered card for the snowy bank, cut with Memory Box stitched die.  The Moose and trees are Sizzix.  I used silver mirror card and die cut hooves, bell, harness and antlers.  I also added a silver star to his rump.  The hooves were a bit fiddly.  Will consider heat embossing next time.

Coffee with Dali

Hello Nomad friends.  I have a project over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today for The Man Cave challenge.  I put Salvador Dali's mug on a mug!!!!!

I've given it an autumnal feel with archival inks in shades of yellow, orange and red and used a piece of weetabix box to make the cup which I cut with Stamplorations cup die.   I stamped Lost Coast Designs Leaves Background in the background and also on the cup after I had stamped and masked Carmen's Veranda Salvador Dali stamp.  The travel and wanderlust words stamped randomly on the leaves background and the sentiment all come from Lost Coast Designs Travel Quotes set.

'Try everything once then try it again somewhere else'

Sounds like a plan to me.......

If you like masculine projects then check the blog this month for oodles of inspiration from the team and link up your stamped masculine makes for a chance to win!!!

Confirmed

Hello Nomad friends.  In Norway nearly everyone gets confirmed when they are 15.  It's the thing to do, and quite a big thing it is too.  Because of the C-19 all of this was put on hold in May/June and it's all happening this month instead.   I have been asked for some cards for boys and here's the first one I made.

I used a piece of vintage grungy music patterned designer card for card base.  The sentiment is a printed strip from the edge of a Kort og Godt 30x30 sheet.  I've backed it and the Maya Designs picture with blue card.  I added a metal leafy flourish and roundel, both from Korthobby.no, and added metallic burgundy pearls to both.

Fly Fly Coins

Hello Nomad friends.  I had an idea!!
Mr Mojo is full of them at the moment!!!

I wanted to make some Artist Trading Coins using black card as the base.  This ended up as a bit more of an experiment than I had thought, but the result is quite sweet me thinks......

All the details, trials and triumphs are over at the Rubber Dance blog.  Hop over and check out some tips on stamping on black backgrounds.  I used Blackberry Bazzill card for the bases cut with a 2.5" stitched circle die.  I used Rubber Dance Fly Fly Flowers stamp and a variety of archival, distress oxide and Taylored Expressions white ink.

Bear Hugs

Hello Nomad Friends.  Taylored Expressions is celebrating their 12th birthday.  I've made them a card.

I used TE Cookie Monster card for the card base and stamps from Look Who's Talking.  I stamped a strip of the Cookie Monster card with the Sending Bear Hugz sentiment and embossed it with TE Bricks embossing folder.  I stamped the Happy Birthday directly on to the card and the bear on a piece of white card.  I coloured with Distress markers, fussy cut the bear and positioned him behind the wall.  The heart is from TE Cookie Monster Enamel Dots.

Happy Birthday Taylored Expresions.
Wishing you many many more wonderful years.

Tag the Fox

Hello Nomad friends.  It's a bit of an everything day today with the weather.  It seems every time I put my head out the door it starts raining, but every time I look out the window it isn't.  I swear I even saw some sun at one point, but nose out the door and rain, rain, rain.  Never mind, the craft room is warm and cosy and Mr Mojo is feeling autumnal.

I used some super cute fox/mushroom themed papers from Papirdesigns Tur I Skogen (Trip to the Woods) series.  I cut with a tag die, edged with brown ink and backed it with some dark grey card to stiffen it up a bit.  The fox is Papirdesign Revestreker stamp set, stamped, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  I used a Papirdesign card sticker (you are super) and some suitably autumnal wool.
