Santa Missing! Presumed Having A Good Time

Hello Nomad friends.  This will be the last of the month for me and I going out with bling!!!!   I started this card yesterday.  I wanted to add a die cut santa/sleigh/reindeer in the sky, but despite a gentle search, which mostly resulted in finding a variety of interesting things that are still sitting on my desk, and today was sunny so I have spent most of the day picking berries and enjoying the garden, Santa remains missing!!!  I am sure he will turn up.  But the show must go on, so I used a sentiment instead.

I started with a black card base and embossed Taylored Expressions Twinkle Twinkle Background with silver embossing powder.  Wow, that certainly reflects the light!!!  Then I cut Taylored Expressions Downtown Border from black and yellow card, offset them slightly and added them to the bottom of the card.

I die cut the Stamplorations sentiment from silver mirror card and added it to the sky.  A perfect classy modern masculine christmas make.

Just A Walking Da Dog

Hello Nomad friends.  We have sunshine!!!!  Hurrah.  But first, a little crispy sparkly and bright.  Another find whilst on my Santa hunt yesterday.  Love this Winter Walk die from Signature dies.

I cut the Winter Walk die from black card, added it to a silver glitter panel on a black base card.  Then I used two shades or blue Promarker to add colour to the sky and the border.  Then I die cut the Stamplortaions sentiment from the silver glitter card and added some Promarker colour.

Thanks for dropping by.  Now, where is that Santa.........Hugz

Angelic Christmas

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh, what happened to July???  Nearly over but still time to join the Christmas in July fun.  I've used Ocean Heart Hobby stamps for this CAS one layer card.

I stamped and coloured the angel from Ocean Heart Hobby set 005 and the sentiments from set 003.  They say open Christmas Eve and Winter Hug.  Then I went a little crazy with the irridescent glitter glue.  Well, you need a little bling at Christmas.....

Hedgehog Fun

Hello Nomad friends.  I was looking for a santa/sleigh/reindeer die, which seems to have flown off somewhere, when I stumbled across the cute Cottage Cutz Spring Hedgehog die.  Gotta admit it distracted me from my Santa hunt.

I used a turquoise distressed card for my card base.  I cut all the hedgehog pieces from a piece of a cracker box that was lurking on my desk.  It had a nice pale brown colour.  It also seems to have a waxed surface which gave some interesting moments with the Promarkers I used to colour it.  I assembled all the hedgehog bits and aren't they just adorbs!!!!  I used a Stamplorations Thanks die and a scrap of gold card, dropped a few letters and added a second K to get the Norwegian equivalent.  Thank you is such an easy thing to say and means so much.

Wot No Lines

Hello Nomad friends.  If anyone has summer please direct it to southern Norway.  This card was supposed to be warm summer colours but turned into a more autumnal look, which I think is how if feels here at the moment.  A number of plants in my garden are certainly very confused about the season!!

I think this is the closest I have ever come to no-line stamping.  I have used Orange Blossom archival for all the stamping.  I started with a marbled orange base card and stamped the small pretty circle stamp from Honey Bee Zen Ocean set.  Then I die cut a circle of orange card and flubbed the sentiment!!  So I re-stamped the words on a scrap of the same orange card, cut them out and edged them with the orange blossom ink.  I actually like that save!!!!!   The fox, and the words come from Honey Bee Warm Wishes set.  I stamped and fussy cut the fox and coloured him with Promarkers.  He comes with a number of small accessory stamps and I added a heart stamp to his jumper.

Weird Wedding

Hello Nomad friends.  Having a strangely satisfying afternoon with the gloriously weird Humanoid stamps from Katzelkraft.  Also inspired by the CASology cue word of Pool, and the wedding challenges out there.  I went with Gene Pool bwahahahhhhaaaaahaha

I simply stamped Katzelkraft Humanoids on a sheet of green paper, die cut with a stitch die and added some gel pen and Promarker colours.  I mounted the panel on a dark green base card and generated the sentiment on the computer.  Bwahhahahahhaaaa.   Just waiting for an appropriate wedding.  Bwahahhahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.   Think I need a little lie down.......

Happy As A Pig In Snow

Hello Nomad friends.  I must admit I am really enjoying the cards I am making at the moment.  Chucking colors and elements together in gorgeous abandonment.  The glitter makes contrast and colours a little difficult for the camera to capture and this one is a glittery delight!!!

I used a pale turquoise designer card base and added Poppystamps Pickering Snowflake Background cut from glitter paper.  I wasn't pleased with this when I cut it cos the details didn't cut so well and broke a few places when I released the large negative bits.  It used those on this card.  Then I looked at  it again and thought I could use it anyway and I'm glad I did!!!  It's very pretty and seriously glittery.......    I've added Art Impressions Ballerina Pig.  Isn't she just awesome!!!!!!   I coloured her with Promarkers and added a little glitter to her tutu.  Sure to become a new favourite.  Then I used Stamploration dies to cut the letters for my sentiment from blue glitter card.  Come on, let's sing along.............

Wingless Angels

Hello Nomad friends.  Friendship is important.
Love this sentiment from Impression Obsession
'Friends Are Angels Without Wings'
Well, you are!  Thank you.

I've made a slimline card (DL 10x21cm) with Impression Obsession's Lottie Collage stamp L4299 which I coloured with distress markers.  The sentiment is from H156.  I handcut the oval, smooched on some distress ink colour and popped it up on craft foam.

Peaceful Pool

Hello Nomad friends.  I saw the CASology cue word of Pool and thought of this lovely Technique Tuesday stamp I had.

I simply stamped it on a 5x7" white card base with black acrhival and used distress markers to add some colour.  Couldn't decide on a sentiment, or even if it needs one.

Tweet Christmas Wishes

Hello Nomad friends.  It's CHRISTMAS!!!!!!   Well, Christmas in July at least.  I have decided to hark back to the past when things took time and people bothered to roast chestnuts over open fires!!  A bird in a top hat in vintage style seem to fit the bill......

The base panel is some cool designer paper.  I stamped Lost Coast Designs Megan's Christmas Bird and coloured with red, green and purple Promarkers, white and glittery gold gel pens and distress markers.

Pretty Negatives

Hello Nomad friends.  I have too many scraps.  I keep everything.  I am working on my thrifty habit.  But sometimes, when I die cut, the negatives are too cute to throw away!!  Today I cut Poppystamps Pickering Snowflake Background from glitter paper.  Some glitter papers cut better than others!  This one wasn't such a success, but I decided to at least try and save the negatives.  Then this happened.........

I used a violet mottled base card and stuck on the glitter negative cuts.

I stamped the whale from Rubber Dance Whale Wishes set black archival on white card and fussy cut.  The sentiment is also Rubber Dance from the Norwegian Just a Note set and says Thinking of You.  Don't you love those negative cuts!!  Perfectly splashy.......

Vicarious Ducks

Hello Nomad friends.  I hope things are going well in your part of the world.  Norway says everyone can come and visit from next week!!  Personally I think it would have been better to wait a few weeks and see what opening up to European visitors brings, but they don't seem to think like me!!  Time will tell.......   Personally I am staying in my own little space, which isn't too much of a hardship cos there is plenty of gardening and crafting to keep me busy.  Hopefully the sun will be back soon and I can add sitting in the sun doing nothing to my list of important things to accomplish.  Since today is a bit of a grey day I made a card.

Call me Quackers but blue ducks on a steampunk background seemed to fit the bill for a number of challenges.  Ain't that punny!!!  OK, enough........

I was over at MFT earlier and they had a cool colour scheme and sketch so I based my design on both.  I stamped Crafty Individuals CI-499 Full Steam Ahead stamp on a neutral card panel with brown archival ink and added a dark teal mat behind.

The sketch has two overlapping circles.  I am using the stamped ship speedometer (anyone got the technical name for that????) for the smaller one and decided to use vellum for the larger one.  I cut a vellum circle, edged it with the brown ink and embossed with a pocket watch embossing folder.  Then I smeared with white ink to make the embossing a bit more prominant.

I put it all together on a kraft base.  I stamped Crafty Individuals Favourite Ducks CI-373 on pale blue card with teal-ish ink and fussy cut them.  The norwegian birthday greeting is a preprinted sentiment strip from a Kort og Godt designer paper sheet matted on the teal paper.

Happy Elf

Hello Nomad friends.
It's the 15th of the month so time for a new challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and this time we want to see your festive makes.  Yes, it Christmas in July!!!  I've made a fun and happy card using Carmen's Veranda Elf with Star and the gorgeous Lost Coast Designs PMC Circle Background.

I embossed the circles background stamp with gold embossing powder and it looks very blingy in the real.  Love that dancing elf.  Stamped, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.

Fintastic Friends

Hello Nomad friends.  I have made a card for a fish loving friend.  I tried a bit of paper piecing for the background in the Retiform style.  Piecing the background allowed me to rotate the pieces of patterned paper for added interest.

I die cut the Cheery Lynn fish from a twinnings earl grey teabag box and then used Promarkers to add some colour.  I've also used a Promarker to edge the patterned paper pieces and colour the white base card for a matching look.  I cut the words using Stamplorations dies from some pale blue scraps.  The fintastic started life as fantastic and with a snip of the scissors a pun was born.

A Little Bit Fishy

Hello Nomad friends.  It's a rainy day in Norway so I have wobbled on down to the craft room and made a start on a few of the many cards I need to make.  First out of the starting gate a little fishy number.

One of the first pieces of card I put my hands on today was this bold green and blue grungy zig zag number from the Works.  I decided it was sufficiently oceanic and made a base card of it.  I used the large die from Memory Box Underwater Scene and a piece of light-bulb packaging to cut the glossy green frame.  This die comes with some coral and seaweed attached but I simply rotated the die 180° and re-cut to remove the vegetation.  I backed it with a darker green frame and then added a circle of vellum to slightly tone down the bold background.  The fish are also from the same Underwater Scene die set cut from a precious scrap of green mirror card.  Love how the metallic card picks up the emboss detail on these little fish.  I found a white scrap, coloured it with lime Promarker and used a stamp from Memory Box Oceanside Typewriter Sentiments set for the sentiment.

Mr Mojo seems to be in the mood so hopefully something else will get finished today.  Hugz
