CCC Panda

Hello.  Welcome.  Since tomorrow is going to be a bit of a day I decided to post the card I sent to Jerrie as part of the September Card Chain Challenge.  We make a card, we send a card, we get a card.  And the lovely Deborah has also lined up sponsors so one lucky lady gets a little something extra as well.  If you want to sign up for October the link is still open HERE.

I used Spellbinders Scruffy Panda and the sentiment is Hampton Arts that I was lucky enough to win in the CCC draw.  Thanks Deborah.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment with cobalt blue embossing powder.

I received a lovely card from Carol.  Thanks Carol.  If you want to see it, and all the other cards exchanged this month, Deborah will be posting the full reveal HERE.  Check it out.  Always fantastic cards from the talented CCC ladies.  Want to join us?? Sign up HERE.

Little Red Butterfly

Hello.  Welcome.  Made a little CAS card for someone who just needs to know that I am thinking of them.

I used a red card base and smooched around with Barn Door distress ink.  I stamped the butterfly and the sentiment with Barn Door.  The butterfly was coloured with red brusho's.  The stamps are Hero Arts.  The butterfly is from Sizzix/Hero Arts Flowers and Butterfly sets and I used the matching die to cut it out

A Dog is Not Just for Christmas

Hello.  Welcome.  A special hi and hello to Rachel and Shaz in Oz.  So happy to have you as new followers.  Hugz all round.

I missed the red moon last night.  It was big and bright and clear til about midnight then it clouded up.  Then about 1am I gave up and went to bed.  Since it wasn't doing it's dance til 3am I decided I'd just catch it next time LOL.  Hoping I'm still around in 2033 and the whole thing happens at a more civillised hour ho ho.

Talking of ho ho, I decided a little non-traditional xmas crafting was in order

I stamped High Hopes Andy and Patch Block, embossed and watercoloured.  Then I fussy cut, removing the background inside the frame as well and mounted it over some MME christmas tree paper.  I added a polka dot layer and mounted on a grey base card I smooched with Stormy Sky distress ink.  The die cut sentiment is part of Memory Box Merry Christmas to all.  I also took some of the smaller elements from the die cut and added to the image panel

Java Friend and One For You

Hello.  Welcome.  Well the fall coffee lovers blog hop is in full swing.

A host of amazing sponsors and all you need do is link up a fall project with a coffee, tea or cocoa theme.  Here's mine

I started with some Little Yellow Bicycle autumn looking patterned card.  I cut an ATC using a sizzix die and added grey texture paste through Tando Creative distorted harlequin stencil.  I stamped Unity's Java Friend coffee cup, embossed with black powder and used red Fantasy Prisme paint for the heart.  I found a piece of fabric with three coffee beans on it and frayed the edge

And it went together like this........

When I bought this stamp, which comes with a cute little sentiment, I bought an extra one and I will be giving that to someone who comments on this post.  Please include the word JAVA in your comment so I know you are interested and Mr Random will draw a winner.  I will post worldwide.  If you don't include the word java I will assume you aren't interested or already have this stamp and you won't be included in the draw.

No Jingle

Hello.  Welcome.  So Mark's Finest papers want us to use die cut negatives as a mask, and I couldn't join three blokes on camels to the Craft Barn challenge cos there was no snow, and Memory Box want trees.  So I rattled through my Memory Box dies and found Frosted Christmas Tree and Tivoli Snowflake.

So I cut Tivoli snowflake from a piece of card and sponged green ink through the negative mask.  I cut and embossed Frosted Christmas Tree, added a trunk and went round the edge with my gold pilot marker.

Brusho Magic

Hello.  Welcome.  I keep saying I'm going to join the Paperartsy challenge but I'm obviously not listening cos it's been ages since I linked up.  This fortnight it's pigment powders.  For me that's brusho's.  If you have these and you haven't played with them then check out the Paperartsy blog for a ton of fun ideas.  I was inspired by the video on the challenge post to make a brusho background

Terrible photo.  Looks pretty cool in the real.  I used yellow, ultramarine and brown, sprinkled on some filter paper and spritzed.  I laid it on a rack to help it dry a bit faster and I got these cool lines.

Lots of the posts at Paperartsy have used embossing so I decided to get out Winter Wonderland plate 6, love this stamp, and just emboss it on my brusho background.  Then I cut around the image leaving a border.  I wet the border and scrunched it, then mounted the panel on a blue card base I had tinted with Stormy Sky distress ink.  Love how the colours glow.

Three Blokes on Camels

Hello.  Welcome.  My crafty space is a mess and cluttered with UFO's.  So I have decided to focus, grab some bits and put them together.  I am hoping today will be a record day for posting.  Best laid plans and all that stuffing.  So I'm getting the ball rolling with a quick and simple card featuring three blokes on camels.  And the colour blue.  You can't go wrong with a bit/lot of blue.

I cut a panel using Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die and stamped and embossed using cobalt blue powder.  The stamp is Crafty Individuals Three Kings of Christmas.  Then I sprinkled turquoise brusho on the top and ultramarine for the sand, spritzed with water and moved the colours around with a brush.  A quick way to get a watercolour wash.  I stuck the panel onto a dark blue base.  I think the colours are much more intense in the real.  I rarely do quick so maybe, for a change, I might make a few of these.  Maybe in different colours?  It's a thought.....

Beautiful Be Leaf

Hello.  Welcome.  The leaves are falling and autumn is on the way.  Don't you just love those gorgeous colours that nature decks the trees with.  Right before she dumps em all over the place LOL.  I wanted to use this gorgeous leaf set I got from Rubber Dance stamps to create a simple card.

I cut some card bases with simon says stamp stitched rectangle die and stamped the smaller leaf from Rubber Dance Maple Leaf set using Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Barn Door distress inks.

Then I stamped one of the sentiments from Rubber Dance Affirmations set.  I liked this so much I thought I'd make a few more with different sentiments from the same Affirmations set.

I picked my colours from the Rubber Dance Challenge September 2014 Colours.

We are celebrating one year of challenges and you can use any of the colours from the last 12 months to join the fun.  The optional theme is celebration and you don't have to use Rubber Dance stamps, but we would love to see them if you have them LOL.  The challenge runs til the end of the month so still plenty of time to join the fun and maybe you will be the lucky winner of a grab bag of gorgeous Rubber Dance stamps.

Get Well Soon......or else. Love From Nurse Frazzled

Hello.  Welcome.  I'm not going to apologize for this.  It's a very dark time at the moment.  They say there will be a full moon soon, but right now I am looking for a light in the darkness.  Maybe tomorrow this won't seem so funny, but tonight it is.  Enjoy

I used Taylored Expressions Spider Web cutting plate (NBUS) with black card, but left all the negatives in place and mounted on a black card base.  I stamped and cut Unity's Frazzled, fussy cut and coloured with sharpies.   I gave her a pair of scissors, which are a metal charm from Korthobby.  They don't come with googly eyes LOL.  I added those myself.  Then I added my favourite sentiment from Unity.

'Anyone can tell you it won't hurt tomorrow
but I'm here to listen while it hurts today'

I thought it would be great to write 'get well soon or else.......' inside.  She looks like the kind of nurse everyone needs.........

Yeah, Buttons

Hello.  Welcome.  I have buttons.  Lots of buttons.  They're nice aren't they?  Like little bits of candy.  Yummy.  But I really have difficulty using them on projects!  So I am really happy that I managed to get 5 of the little suckers on this tag.  Yippee!!

I was inspired by Monika's card that I saw over at Stamplorations.  I loved her star edge die and I thought I could make something with this Sizzix Sewing Edge die that I have had for a while and never used.  That's pretty ancient NBUS!!  Anyway, I cut it from brown crinkly paper that looks a bit faux wood.  Then I cut it again from silver foil and paper pieced the scissors and bobbin.

I cut the cotton reel from some real wood veneer and wrapped some lace around it.  The stamps are from TH Haberdashery set, stamped on brown handmade paper and embossed.  The paper kinda sucked in the embossing powder so I ended up with a matt finish that actually suits the distress style stamps.  I mounted the sewing panel on a blue tag that I stencilled with Storm Sky distress ink through Stamplorations Retro Circle stencil.  I added a needle with some blue thread, two wood and three tiny plastic buttons and a lace tie.

A Rainbow of Meaning

Hello.  Welcome.  I have made this card using the Share the Joy sketch.

I used stamps from Unity KOM 11/13.  The frame and the sentiment are NBUS.  I mention this since Janis proposed we should try and use some of our uninked Unity rubber, so in the spirit of a challenge within a challenge.... Hi Janis.  I stamped and embossed the frame and coloured the flowers with chalk inks.  I masked, stamped and embossed the girl with red powder.  I stamped the heart of flowers with Dusty Concord and also did a watercolour wash with the same ink inside the frame.  Then I made my rainbow banner using some lace, distress inks and feathers cut using Cheery Lynn Dream Catcher #2.

Chalkboard Butterflies

Hello.  Welcome.  A special hi and hello to Sylvia.  So nice to have you join my happy little band.  A big hugz for all my followers and friends.  Hugz.

For this card I have combined card sketch #6 and the chalkboard tutorial from Scrappelyst.

I started with a black card base.  I used white acrylic paint and Stamplorations Flutterby stencil and then smeared Colorbox Alabaster chalk.  I cut Cheery Lynn Mini Rum Punch doily in white and cut them in half to make my banner.  I didn't have any black and white twine so I used my sharpie on a piece of white twine.  The sentiment is from Rubber Dance Something Wonderful set, embossed with white on black card and smeared with the alabaster chalk.  I also added some chalkboard butterflies cut using Cheery Lynn Mini Dimensional Butterflies die.

Over at MFP they want silver and gold together so I grabbed my little nutcraker and this happened

I stamped Marks Finest Paper Nutcracker and the vertical Merry Christmas from the Dear Santa set on gold card and embossed with silver powder.  I fussy cut the nutcracker and mounted him and the sentiment on a piece of silver paper on a gold card base.

Big Witch, Little Witch, Ghoul and Ghost

Hello.  Welcome.  As I was looking to see what I could use to join the fun at Unity friends today I came across a few halloween itty bittys.  I had been looking for something that would fit the Unity sketch and decided these guys were perfect.  One was a ghost, which reminded me that DominoART want any game with a ghost.  Which reminded me that I STILL have some unaltered playing cards.  Just call me Procrastination.  So, put it all together and come up with this

I took my gesso'd playing card and stamped Unity's Frazzled, the ghost from Be Afraid, the witches from Best Witches and Halloween Greetings (NBUS) , and Numbers, Etc. (NBUS). I embossed the trick or treaters with black embossing powder.  The numbers were stamped using London Fog ink and clear embosssed.

I coloured with sharpies, promarkers and distress inks.  I was going to add a halloween greeting and the number 31 but then it struck me that it looked like the kids had dressed up for Halloween and were posing for the camera.  So I die cut Smile using Cheery Lynn Happy Hippo in green and black.  I really need some tiny little 'click' sentiments to scatter around.

Oops!!

Hello.  Welcome.  Over at Stamplorations this month the lovely ladies asked to CASE my Penny the Pig tag.  Oh gosh, how sweet you are.  Honored.  Then 2 days ago they posted some more lovely inspiration.  I decided to try and recreate Kim's card.  I liked the bright colours and the clean look.  Although it all started to plan, unfortunately my ink pad took on a life of it's own, and it all ended up a bit grungy.  Maybe it should have been a sympathy card rather than a congrats......

I used distress inks and the chevron stamp from Stamplorations Mixed Media Grunge.  Often when I'm trying to copy a technique it doesn't go so well but I was really pleased with this.  Very well explained Kim.  Then I stamped and embossed the Congratulatons from the Birds and Blooms set.  I decided to ink the edges!!  It was going great till I got a smudge!!  Ah well, let's smudge all over.  Still thinking of maybe changing the congrats to with sympathy........  Will definitely be using this technique again.  Probably with less smudges ha ha.

A Strange Thing Happened on the Way to the Kitchen

Hello.  Welcome.  A special hi and hello to Suchi.  So glad you have joined my happy little following.  Hugz all round for all my lovely followers and all you guys and gals lurking around the blogosphere.  So happy you took the time to visit my little corner.

So, over at Simon Says Stamp they want to see Tim Holtz stamps, and Country View want numbers, and Darnell wants NBUS, and she said she'd love to see really old virginal  NBUS.  Darnell, get ready to get happy cos I knew I had some of those blueprint stamps that I had never inked.  Meet the Game Wheel......

I used the sketch from Your Next Stamp.  I stamped Tim Holtz Game Wheel from Ringmaster Blueprints (NBUS) twice on Bazzill Mud Puddle.  I embossed one image and cut it out.  I soaked the Mud Puddle, ripped the edges, screwed it up, sort of flattened it out, added some Walnut Stain, abused it a bit more.  Looks a bit like old leather.  You got to get it really wet.  Impressed the embossing survived the abuse.  I stamped YNS Quackers (NBUS) also on Mud Puddle and coloured with Galaxy Markers.  I used a cornflower blue base card, black inked edges, with a cornflower blue layer, black inked edges.  The black card was embossed with Cheery Lynn Clocks embossing plate and I used Colorbox Alabaster chalk to highlight and give a chalkboard look.  I added some twine with a sailor type knot and don't ask why the duck is hovering on part of a Cheery Lynn Compass die cut.  It seemed like the way to go LOL.

Little Green Men

Hello.  Welcome.  I decided to try Stamping Through a Stencil, which is the technique challenge over at MFP this week, and combine it with green and gold.  I wanted to try using sentiment stamp.  I think it made for an interesting background but maybe isn't quite as readable as I was hoping for.

I cut a green tag and used Mowed Lawn distress ink through Stamplorations Just Squares stencil for a tone on tone look.  Then I stamped the sentiment 'I've been very, very, very good this year' from MFP Dear Santa set in versamark and embossed with gold powder.  I stamped and embossed MFP Nutcracker, also on green card!!  Made for interesting skin tones!!!!  I coloured with various shades of green sharpie markers.  His gold embossed eyes also looked a little strange so I added some google eyes and embossed his beard with white puff powder.  I think he looks like a child who has been asked if he's been good and he's trying his best to say 'I have, I have, really I have.....'

Harvest Moon

Hello.  Welcome.  I got this lovely stamp from Unity the other day and had an idea that she should be looking out a window.  Then I saw CASology's theme this week was Moon and a card was born.

I stamped Unity Dream of Being (NBUS) on patterned paper, coloured with watercolour pencils and fussy cut.  For my window I used Poppystamps Diamond Lattice and after a bit of fiddling and a few attempts managed to reduce the cut to the size I needed.  I made a moon night scene using distress inks and stamped and embossed a Crafty Individuals tree stamp.  I always think the moon in the autumn looks bigger and more striking.

Giraffes and Dinosaws

Hello.  Welcome.  Just wanted to share a little something I made with NBUS.  Have you heard??  It's NBUS Challenge time again.  The lovely Darnell has lined up some amazing sponsors so get out your NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) and get crafting.

I used Taylored Expressions Tag Stacklets 1 die to cut a piece of paper I had paper pieced together.  I stamped Flonz Crafts large Giraffe (NBUS) on yellow card and added some orange pencil.  I stuck the tag on a black card base, added a bow and gold sticker sentiment.

A Pile of Eternity

Hello.  Welcome.  I seem to be having a CAS sort of day.

I haven't played over at Paperartsy for ages.  The theme this fortnight is circles.

I loved Jo's post so I started painting some card rose and pansy.

Then I had a dig through my Paperartsy stamps and pulled out a selection of circles.

I did some stamping, but it just wasn't working.

So I did a bit more stamping, grabbed some kraft card, grabbed some black card.  Ahhh, silver on black?  Gold on black........

I stamped and embossed the grouped postmark stamp and then went around the edge of the card with versamark and embossed the edge.

Hello.  Welcome.  Do you know how difficult it is to hold three pens together and draw a swirl across a piece of card without getting a break in any of the lines??!!!!!   So I did this instead

The stamps are from Rubber Dance Something Wonderful and Winter Wonderland sets.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment then added the little star flourish in a rainbow of distress ink colours.

Miss Autumn

Hello.  Welcome. I've been playing with a bit of leftover camo background from yesterday.  I used the sketch from Stamplorations.

I've used I brayered painty background and a gold base card.  I reversed the two behind a frame cut using Cheery Lynn Emperor Swan die.  The gold side was embossed using Cheery Lynn diamonds and starburst embossing plate.   I stamped and paper pieced MFP Paper Doll Paige.

I think she looks seriously cool in her autumn colours suit.

Hello.  Welcome.  I've been playing with a fun tutorial making camo that I saw over at Marks Finest Papers blog.

I made the camo background using various Colourbox inks

I cut it into pieces and layered on a black base card.

I stamped and embossed the Tiger from Marks Finest Papers Tiger set on patterned paper and fussy cut.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co.

Geological Time

Hello.  Welcome.  A bit of a grey day so I put together some Gail Mail.  This is like snail mail, but takes way longer to get into the envelope.  Some people have been waiting for Gail Mail for ages.  There may be weeks, months, or in some extreme cases, years involved.  The good news is I have made a new months resolution to try and get the pile of Gail Mail under control.  If you have been waiting, then be of good cheer, it may be arriving sometime soon!!  Bearing in mind that 'soon' is a very relative term.  And if you aren't expecting Gail Mail, well, you never know..........

As a reward for stuffing some envelopes I decided to make a card to link up with Unity Friends

I cut a circle of card, stamped the tent scene from Unity Maren Girl set and coloured with distress inks.  I used Salty Ocean and Mustard Seed and blended with my water brush to get the green.  I doodled a frame and stamped the sentiment from Unity Bee Happy Hexagons set.
