Herd From a Friend

Hello.  Welcome.  It's been a bit quiet here in my little corner of blogland.  I got hit by the dreaded flu.  By hit I mean totally slammed dunked!!  Did you get the number of that elephant??  My goodness!!  If you've had it, my commiserations.  If you haven't, DON'T GO THERE!!!!   Uuufff.  Anyway, while I was incapacitated another fabulous reveal of the Card Chain challenge occurred.  Here's the card I sent to Jo in the UK based on the sketch and the option of friendship.

I cut the card base with Stamplorations double stitch rectangle die and then stamped the circle from Rubber Dance Grunge Stuff, the stars from Christmas Cow and the sentiment from Beautiful Words using blue dye ink.  I stamped Cute Cow and coloured it and the circle with a blue brusho wash.  I fussy cut the cow, added some googly eyes and sent him on his way.......

You can check out all the cards that winged their way around the planet last month in the January Reveal.

If you would like to join the fun the February sign up is open until the 6th February, and the March one starts on the 7th.

In Ter Res Ting

Hello.  Welcome.  There is a curious little challenge going on over at the Unity Show and Tell fb group where they want you to stamp an image and leave it uncoloured, then use some patterned paper and let that be the star.  No high art here but some nice results and I decided that you might be interested in the idea, maybe also being an owner of a small stack of patterned paper, and that I may wish to remember this technique myself at a later date.  I actually made two cards.

Here's the sheet of paper I started with...

This came from Nille (read woolworths/target type shop) a few years ago.  I picked up a few themed packs of 5 or 6 30 x 30 papers.  Some parts are embossed or have glitter on them.  This one is obviously wedding themed.  The first thing that caught my eye was the lovely border on the RHS

I cut a section of the border and added to a white card that I had stamped the image from Unity Big Time Special and then ran a chili red Promarker around the edges.  I think it works quite nicely with the heart balloon and the red glittery hearts on the patterned paper.

Then I did this.  I liked that panel in the top left of the paper sheet with the two champagne glasses on it.  I stamped Unity George and Scarlett on white card and fussy cut them.  I cut out the panel and cut along the top of the lower frame so I could tuck their legs behind the frame.  I also cut along each side of the stem of the champagne glass so I could thread Scarlett's skirt behind the glass.  Love how that gives dimension to the glasses.  I mounted on a brown card base and used another piece of paper from the set t stamp the congratulations sentiment.

As I said, interseting technique and a great way to use a bit of patterned paper.

Salmon Cat

Hello.  Welcome.  I won this Stampendous Cat stamp in October at the Cat Lovers Blog Hop which is hosted by the lovely Janis of Her Peaceful Garden.  I hadn't got around to inking it up so decided tonight was the night.

I have been wanting to join the Cupcake Inspirations challenge so I kept it all pink and white.  The cat was stamped on white card and coloured with Rose Pink, Salmon Pink, Dusky Rose and Pale Blossom Promarkers.  I used a pink gel pen for the eyes and also for the border around the cat.  Then I mounted it on a piece of pink woodgrain paper I found in my stash which I die cut with a Double Stitch Rectangle die and mounted it all on a hot pink card base.  The sentiment is a Rubber Dance stamp, stamped with Picked Raspberry distress ink and says 'to a friend'.

Hello.  Welcome.  It's an exciting day!!  There's a new release at Rubber Dance! It's first since Susanne took over ownership and the company moved to Germany, and it's FAB!!!

https://www.rubberdance.de/new/

There are 4 new sets and 10% off until February 3rd so grab em quick!  Susanne has been busy and made a huge number of amazing samples so hop over to the blog and check out her gorgeous makes.

Mine only arrived yesterday, so I haven't had much time to play yet, but I couldn't resist inking up this fun Christmas Cow.   I know just the man to send this one to!!

I used a piece of Kort og Godt patterned paper for my card base and cut the frame from dark blue card using Taylored Expressions stitched scallop rectangle die.  I smudged Salty Ocean DOx on the frame and the card edges.  I stamped the cow on pale blue card, coloured with Promarkers and a gold pilot marker, and fussy cut.  I stamped the sentiment onto the card base using Midnight Blue ink from Dare 2 B Artsy.

There are three different cows and you can buy them separately or as a large sheet.
I think you'll need the whole herd!! They are adorabull!!,

Walking Out in Dandelion Fields

Hello.  Welcome.  I hope you are safe and cosy, where ever you are.  Yesterday we had some sleat that froze when it hit the ground.  Today the temperature has risen a little, but there is a wicked cold wind blowing, so it is horrendously slippery out.  I think the best thing to do is stay in and craft, unless you are like this lucky lady and have a tall, dark, handsome to hold onto........

This is my second January project for Blank Page Muse where this month we are feeling the love.  I used the beautiful Dandelion Bursts Background and one of the images from the Classic Couple set.  Do hop over to the blog and check out all the details.
