Little Milk Kitty

Hello Nomad friends!  Here's some final inspiration for the It's a Wrap challenge over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  I am really into making gift boxes at the moment so today I am sharing a mini milk carton decorated with cat paws and Carmen's Veranda White Cat.

Squueeeeeee!  Adorbs!  I've gone with that perfect Christmas colour - brown! Well, not everyone is into red, green and gold...... I started with a piece of designer paper, scored the box lines and stamped all over with brown archival ink and Lost Coast Designs Paw Print border.   I inked all the score lines with ginger Promarker, cut the bits that needed cutting and folded the box.  I stamped White Cat using the brown ink on white card and fussy cut.  I made a little Merry Christmas label, punched a couple of holes and added the orange dotty organza ribbon.  Now just gotta fill it with treats!

You have until 23.59 PST tonight to join the fun.   Any stamped box, tag, wrapping paper welcome for a chance to win Lost Coast dollars.  See you there.......

Little Boxes

Hello Nomad friends.  I got pointed in the direction of Colleen Vaux.  She's got loads of fun boxes on her site.  I decided to try the self closing box.  So sweet and easy.  I made mine so it's about 10 x 12cm finished, perfect size for so many things....

I used Papirdesigns Tur i Skogen Høstblad designer paper for the box base and Mens Vi Venter papers for the panels.  I added a merry christmas button and a bit of red ribbon and it's ready for stuffing.

Llama on my Pillow

Hello Nomad friends.  Time is such a fluid thing isn't it.  The realisation that it's soon Christmas has crept up on me.   I have been making cards all year, so I'm good for that, so I have decided to make some gift boxes.

I made a pillow box using some patterned card.  I stamped Taylored Expressions Twinkle Twinkle Backfground with Sugar Cube ink on a green card panel.  I stamped Taylored Expressions Look Who's Talking llama on white card, fusy cut, die cut him a santa hat and added him to the panel.  I have a llama phrase die so I did a bit of cutting and got my Fa Lla Lla Lla Lla Lla sentiment.  Now I just have to fill it with goodies.

Bag of Toys

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh, it's been ages.  Just busy, like everyone is I suppose.   Sat down and made a tag using corrugated card as a base and lots of scraps.

These colorize die are fab for hitting scrap mountain.  I cut the tag using Gummiapan old large tag die and then built my bag of toys.  These dies are easy to use, in that all the bits are labelled, but they do start to get fiddly the further along you go.  I love the bag and the teddy.  So cute.

Take care.  Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Rose Gold Angel

Hello Nomad friends.  Happy Sunday!!!  And it is!!  Sunny!!  First time for over a week.  But the temp did drop to none.  That's around 32 for you gals in the F zone.  So I should be out, enjoying the little bit of sun and warmth, before it nips back behind the mountain and the temps plummet to very chilly again.  But I wanted to make a quick little angel.  Bwahahahahaahahahahahahaaaa.  Never assume that cos it should be easy, that it was....  I'm leaving a few notes below, more for me than you, so next time it should be easier.

Marianne design Angel with star die, rose gold mirror card and yellow vellum to back the cutouts.  Easy eh??  Maybe not......

I am not admitting how long this took. But here's some tips.... when working with mirror card and/or vellum double sided tape would be a good glue option. When you want to bend mirror card, tissue paper is probably a better option to back it with than vellum, especially when you used tacky glue on the vellum and it's gone a bit hard and wrinkly.  But it's all right in the end, and after 59,000 photographs I managed to get this one! Rose gold mirror card is a *!**! to get a good photo of.   But it does look very lovely in the real.

Cheers!

Have a lovely crafty day everyone..... Hugz

Coffee Stripes

Hello Nomad friends.  It's been a day of distractions, but here I am at last with a little inspiration for our current challenge at Let's Squash It! - stencils and embossing folders.  Use any embossing folder and also one or more stencils.  Please make sure you include both parts of the challenge on your card and also check da roolz to ensure your entry will be eligible for the random prize draw!

So here's my card.  I was inspired by Jo's Technique Time post where she used a stripey embossing folder.   My first attempt kinda crashed and burned, but try try again......

I used Stamplorations Latte stencil and Sizzix Stripes embossing folder.  I used Ground Espresso distress ink and stencilled the words on my stitch die cut panel.   I lightly smeared the Stripes embossing folder with the Ground Espresso ink, spritzed with water and embossed the wordy panel.  Then I took the mistake from earlier.....  I had stencilled the cup from the latte stencil and embossed with the stripes folder.  I didn't like it as it was but I fussy cut the stencilled embossed cup, saucer and handle and added them here.  Yes!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Looking forward to seeing your stencilled embossed masterpieces.  Hugz

Lion's Short Cousin

Hello Nomad friends.  I love a good challenge.  There's a lot of em out there, but now and again I see one and Mr Mojo perks up and says that sounds interesting.  A challenge that makes me look at my supplies in a different way or nudges me to try a new technique, or just gives me a good kick out of my comfort zone.  Over on fb Carabelle Studios is having a party and they extended the deadline to give us a bit more time.  I'm probably not going to do all 9 of the challenges but I have done one, and here's two more......

This one I love, and he would have been perfect for the Lost Coast Designs Art Doll challenge that just finished.  This really made me look differently at my stamps.  The brief was to use one stamp as the focus, pieces from at least two other stamps, an excentric eye, collage and a quote.  A lot of people would have run away from that recipe but it seems Carabelle Studio fans are made of sterner stuff and there are some awesome entries.  I used Lion as my main stamp and pieces from La Femme aux oiseaux and Kiss.  Lion got shortened and bow 'wings', eyes from one of the ladies and a oiseaux in his hair.  Below you can see the bits I used.  The background is some scraps stamped with Distress Oxide ink and book papers.   Hopefully my oversized glasses are excentric enough........

The second card, cards, were also made using scraps.  The brief was to make stamped strips and arrange them geometrically on two 15 x 15cm white cards.  Here's my cards.  I'm calling them H and L.

I prefer L to H.  I am not sure that H was a good idea.  I really like L.  Love those circles on the verticals.

Here are the stamped strips I made. Love the last one lots.  Lion's trousers and mane!!  What a cool pattern.  And there's Lion himself.  He is such a handsome chap.

Coffee or Tequila

Hello Nomad friends.  A new challenge over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity called It's A Wrap.  We want to see tags, gift paper, boxes etc, no cards, and don't forget we are a real stamp challenge so rubber and/or clear stamping must feature prominantly on your project.  I made a bottle hanging tag for a coffee/tequila loving friend.

I cut my bottle hanger using a Avery Elle die and then stamped Lost Coast Designs Coffee Gnome and the Carmen's Veranda Coffee or Tequila sentiment.  I masked the gnome and used the small square stamp from Lost Coast Designs Shadow Frames set to stamp in a blur of bright distress colours.  The shadow frame stamps are solid, and distress ink isn't a good stamping ink, so it's a bit patchy, but we've been in the tequila so we don't mind so much do we???  I coloured the gnome with Promarkers and glitter glue and then added some glitter glue randomly on the tag to add that tequila sparkle.

Join the It's A Wrap challenge for a chance to win Lost Coast Designs dollars!!  It's also a good chance to make some pretty things for the festive season, although we are not limiting you to Christmas projects.

Andrew Likes Coffee

Hello Nomad friends.  I usual wait for sales to buy stuff so I surprized myself by splashing out on these fairly new dies from Studio Light.  This is Missees Andrew, and I gave him a coffee cup sticker.   It works, kinda......

It was supposed to look like he was wearing a jumper with a coffee cup on it, but I'm not sure.  Maybe he's a magician and is practising his levitating skills.  Anyway, it's late, it's been a busy day and it is what it is.  But I am pleased with my first attempt at an Andrew, and he does look good on that embossed background.

Poinsettia Coffee

Hello Nomad friends.  The 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop has started and I decided to join the fun early, before the week wizzy wizzes away.  I've gone a bit CAS and used a Stamplorations Holiday Lattes Colourable.  I coloured it red and green with a little bit of glitter, cos nothing says holiday like a bit of bling.

I used a texture white card base, added a white panel cut with Stamplorations Double Stitch Rectangle die and then added Papirdesigns God Jul, with both the letters and shadow cut in white for that faux embossed look.  I wonder what poinsettias taste like????

Silent Lion

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm not very good with this whole social media thing,  Finally realised one of my favourite stamp brands might have a fb group.  Oh look, there it is.  Oh look, celebration going on.  Better join the fun.   Hunt the lion, hunt the lion......  Ahhhh, a little madness before midnight keeps things interesting.

It's probably quantum physics, so we are lucky the sound is turned off.  This is Carabelle Studios The Lion.  Awesome dude!   I used pink and purple Aztec Paint to colour the tag.  I painted a scrap with green Aztec Paint and stamped the circle elements, also from The Lion set, and added some green to the base of the tag for grounding.  I fussy cut the circles and arranged them around the tag then added the stamped, coloured and fussy cut Lion.  I used distress markers and gel pens to colour Lion.

Bubbling Positivity

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 10th of the month so time for the new challenge at Let's Squash It!  This month we want you to use stencils with your embossing folders.  I love stencils for giving quick visual impact, but they aren't one of my go to craft items usually.  I was very keen to see Jo's Technique Time post and she didn't disappoint.  Many suggestions and ideas on how to combine these two elements, so be sure to check that out if Mr Mojo is feeling a little sluggish.  Here's the card I came up with.

I used Sizzix Smile embossing folder, Stamplorations Bubble Dance stencil and a cute Simon Says Stamp Chillin' Frenchies stamp.

I used pale blue card and lightly blended Cracked Sapphire distress ink through the stencil.  I cut the panel with a Stitched die and edged with blue ink.

I embossed with the Smile embossing folder and smeared the embossed words with the same Chipped Sapphire ink.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the dog and added it for additional smiles.

Gothic Cupcakes

Hello Nomad friends.  I was playing with this card at the weekend but felt it still needed something.  Seems it needed a sentiment!  Tah dah........

I used rays patterned paper and stencilled with a zig zag mask and Tando Music stencil and Black Soot distress.  I cut the panel with Stamplorations Crazy Double Stitch Rectangle die.  I added The Greeting Farm Cupcake Anya, looking a little gothic today Anya, and stamped the thank you from Stamplorations For the Birds stamp set.

Thanks for dropping by.  More stencil action here tomorrow.  Hugz

Fox Box

Hello Nomad friends.  I had my day planned. Get up.  Always a good start.  Tea, feed the animals, pick apples, then spend the afternoon cooking cookies with a little crafting thrown in.  The cookie dough was made last night, as it has to stand overnight, and it's still sitting there, cos like all well planned days a couple of other jobs suddenly popped up and displaced my plans.   So it looks like an evening of cookies and crafting is ahead of me, but first, a box......

I used patterned card which I stamped with Rubber Dance Pine Fir Yew stamp and various blue inks.  The dimensions I found on a fb group.  It's a twist box, without the twist LOL.  More room for da candy bwahahaahahaha.  I decorated simply with Spellbinder Label die cuts and the gorgeous Fox from Rubber Dance, for a masculine feel.  The Norwegian Merry Christmas is also a Rubber Dance stamp, but I think it's special order set.

Hop over to the Rubber Dance blog for more piccies and details.

Snowed In

Hello Nomad friends.  Doing a little midnight crafting with this fun new Santa Gnome stamp from Lost Coast Designs.  Lost Coast Designs have a huge posse of awesome gnomes so do pop over and check them out.

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Gnome Santa in Chimney on a scrap of white card, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  I gave him a snowy roof top by cutting more white scraps with Stamplorations Snowy Stitched Landscape dies.  I stamped a pale blue card base with Hero Arts Stunning Snowflakes using blue in and added the 'rooftop' scene.  A little glitter glue on the fluffy bits and done.

Santa Seminar: Don't Eat Yellow Snow

Hello Nomad friends.  Well, lots and lots of Christmas challenges, all over the place.  I do like to join in the final challenge of the month at 52 Weeks to Christmas (7 left bwahahhahhahhaaa) cos they give us a week, rather than the usual weekly challenges when you only get one day!!  And the gorgeous Jo has teamed up with gorgeous Di and they are having a scrappy Christmas.  Santa sprang to mind.  Today he is expounding the joys and pitfalls of gold.

Gotta say, nightmare to photo!!!  That gold mirror snowflake embossed sky was giving some demented selfie effects.  At one point I think Charlie Brown and the Giant Pumpkin were floating around!!!!  Then the sun went down and gave me a break!!!   So here we are...... Sizzix Colourize Santa built from scraps of red, black and gold; glitter, mirror and stardream.  Then I took some other gold scraps and built a background.  I embossed the mirror paper with Hunkydory Snowflake/Star embossing folder from one of their magazine kits.
