Joyful Ginger

Hello Nomad friends.  Gosh, I seem to have lost a day or so.  Suddenly realised it's the last of September and I haven't joined the Rudolf Days challenge.  So here goes.....

I used Papirdesign Mens Vi Venter and Tur i Skogen papers.  The snowflake border is the bit with the paper details on that you usually cut off and throw away, or use to pop something else up.  I love when paper producers make the backside of that strip pretty.  Very environmentally friendly and great for us to have a little extra pattern.  I flipped the Christmas Craft Creations sketch cos the yellow piece was leaning that way.  The gingerbread man and sentiment are Papirdesign dies.  I dug in the scraps bag to find suitable bits.  The pale brown is actually a piece of white card coloured with caramel alcohol ink and spritzed with tattered angel gold shimmer I think.  Been a while since I've had the TA sprays out!!!

Sketchy Autumn Birds

Hello Nomad friends.  I sat down today and just had a play with autumn colours and some of Rubber Dance's lovely stamps.  The new Sketchy Birds are so cute, a little bit bigger than their Textured Bird friends, and really fun to use as a focal point.

I made a simple stamped background using Rubber Dance circle, feather and leaves stamps from the lovely Carved Collection 3 set with distress ink colours.  I stamped and fussy cut the Sketchy Birds for 4 quick and easy cards.

Hop over to the Rubber Dance blog for all the details and more photo's and don't forget to leave a comment on the GIVEAWAY post in the fb group.

Pull my Bell

Hello Nomad friends.  I'm here with some more inspiration for the current 'use an embossing folder that includes numbers or letters and sand it challenge' at Let's Squash It!  I used a scrap of a blue metal sheet for my inspiration post and Nellie Snellen Let It Snow folder, so I decided to make it into a card.  This lovely folder is one of the amazing prizes on offer to our random winner each month.  You get a choice from our prize vault.  Ain't that great???

I was inspired by the sketch at Christmas Craft Creations and cut the bottom edge of the embossed sanded metal with a snowy landscape stitch die from Stamplorations.  I added a fun little elf from PaperArtsy who always makes me think of a stick of dynamite!!  His bell is usually on a thin line coming out of his hat but decided to fussy cut it off and give him a more scotch bonnet look.  I stamped and fussy cut him and coloured with Promarkers.

Dig out your wordy/numeric folders and sand paper and get squashing.  Linky is open until the end of the month so you have another week to join in.

Tags for Him

Hello Nomad friends.  I made a couple of painty, stampy, manly tags.

I brayered yellow and orange acrylic paint onto some card and knocked it back with some sponged white.  I did some white and black paint stamping and added some black and white details using the edge of my acrylic block.  I cut two tags using Stamplorations Luggage Tag dies and then stamped Stamplorations Enjoy the Ride car and Big Robots robot on other sections of the painty masterpiece and then fussy cut them.  I stamped the enjoy the ride sentiment directly on the tag and the I Love Every Bit Of You on a scrap of card, cut it and added to the tag.  Some autumn wool to finish and done!

Vikings, Dragons and Linedancers

Hello Nomad friends.  I decided to enter the other two My Favourite Things 2021 Card Design Superstar challenge.  I started by making some Brusho backgrounds.  I saw a video by Sandy where she used salt to get some fun effects.  I made quite a few backgrounds, including some with salt, and then picked a few I liked.  The first one crashed and burned during my interactive experiments.  Well, it's not burnt, it just has a slider channel cut in it but I couldn't for the life of me make my viking roll!!!!   So...

I liked this background lots and thought it was perfect for my Viking, coloured with distress markers.  I decided to give him a dog companion, from New Best Friend set, and then decided he also needed a dragon!!  Don't we all????  This super little cutie is from the Magical Dragon set.  I was going to use a sentiment from MFT Lovable Leopard set about friends and adventures, but decided to leave it off.  Gonna enter this bright masterpiece to the Coloring Virtuoso challenge.

Then we had the moment with the slider that didn't go a planned.  So I decided to put on my big girl panties and try out the Twist and Turn Interactive Die-namic.  I loved this die when it was released, and then I've never used it!!!   Now is a good time me thinks.......  First step, consult the fab video by Laura that is at the bottom of the die page.  Next, give it a go........

Since there are two rotation points available I decided to use this happy pair of line dancers from the Saddle Up and Celebrate set.  I also used another of the Brusho backgrounds.  Oh, tip from me......  stamp your sentiment before assembling the card!!   I stamped the cowfolk, coloured and fussy cut them.  Then I put it all together.  Here we go....  poor man video

Yee Haw!!!

If you click on the picture they will get bigger and you can click through them.

If you click through them fast enough you should get some idea of the fun effect this die gives.  Did I sit there pulling and pushing that little tab for a minute or two??  Yes ma'am, I sure did!!!!

Give Me Hugs

Hello Nomad friends.  I am over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today with a quick and fun card featuring words and hugs.  Our challenge at the moment is Sentiment in Focus and we want to see at least 5 words on your stamped masterpiece.  I've used my easy formula of Lost Coast Designs/Carmen's Veranda background, image of your choice and Carmen's Veranda sentiment.

I used Carmen's Veranda Dice Background stamped with Shabby Shutters distress ink on a yellow card base.  I stamped Carmen's Veranda Tabby Cat on some DCWV cloud patterned paper and finished with Carmen's Veranda $8 Million sentiment.

I hope you get time to join the Sentiment in Focus challenge
You need to include at least 5 words on your stamped anything for a chance to win.
Thanks for visiting.  Hugz

Kitten Hugz

Hello Nomad friends.  I wanted to join the My Favourite Things 2021 Card Design Superstar challenge.  Here's my card for the Clean & Simple Genius category.  I don't really consider myself a superstar, or a genius, but I do like CAS.

I used MFT Big Hugs die and New Best Pal stamp set.  I started with a pale yellow card base.  I cut a piece of card with the Big Hugs die to make a stencil and then used a brush to blend orange ink onto my card base.  I stamped the girl with the cat on white card, coloured with distress markers, fussy cut and added her to the card.  Done!!

Free Bad Advice

Hello Nomad friends.  I am over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity today with a quick and fun card featuring words and leaves.  Our challenge at the moment is Sentiment in Focus and we want to see at least 5 words on your stamped masterpiece.  Since it's autumn and the leaves are swirling around today in the hefty breeze I decided to use one of my favourite leaf stamps, Lost Coast Designs Leaves Background.

I used red, orange and yellow archival ink to stamp my leaf background and then stamped the Carmen's Veranda sentiment on vellum, using a little glue and 4 copper leaf brads to secure it to my card.  So much gorgeous detail on the leaves!

Sunset Stripes

Hello Nomad friends.  Memory Box challenge is stripes.  Hope wavy stripes are OK....

I decided to cut Memory Box Golf Club Landscape from three different shades of orange/yellow and mounted them on a yellow base card.  There is a little flag on these die cuts ie golf hole, but I decided I wanted more mountain ridges look, so the flags got the chop.  A hello from Poppystamps Hello Background plate and done.

Let Sleeping Cats Sleep

Hello Nomad friends.  It's feeling very autumn today.  I picked the last of the aronia berries yesterday so I have a lovely jug of cordial freshly made.  I also carried on playing with my washi tape today.

I covered a card base with three different tapes and then cut with Poppystamps Ring A Ding Corner.  I backed the cut panel with a piece of blue card and stamped the Carmen's Veranda sentiment on a piece of the same card.  I cut Poppystamps Whittle Cutie Cat from blue card, cutting the head twice more so I could pop it up a little.

Awesome Sauce

Hello Nomad friends.  Love this!!!!

The other day I was rattling through the stencils and came across this supersized one from Panduro.  It has a boy and girl outline on it so I decided to try and get it on a card.  It must be sized for 30x30 cos I had to cut his legs off for this slimline card, but I love the result.  I used some mauve Konfirmant printed card from Kort og Godt for my card base and used a brush to blend Wilted Violet distress ink through the stencil.  I stuck some patterned tape into some purple scraps and arranged them as a ground for my Kort Og Godt die cut boy.  I also cut some of the washi tape scraps into chervons and arranged them on top left on the card.  Just a detail to use the pretty scraps LOL.  The boy was cut three times from card scraps and layered together.  To match it in with my purple colour scheme I coloured him with an Aubergine Promarker.  I stamped the sentiment with purple archival, and I think I should have heat set the distress ink first cos it blurred a bit.  I edged the card with Lilac Promarker and found a silver metal charm and brad which I also coloured with purple Promarker before adding it at the bottom of my chevrons.

Thanks for dropping by.  Might have to make a her version of this.  Hugz

Fish Wisdom

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 15th of the month and time for a new challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  This time we want to see Sentiments in Focus and we are asking that you use at least 5 words on your stamped anythings.   I used Lost Coast Designs new Anchor Fish and paired him with some Travel Quotes.  I love this set cos it has so many cool quotes in some really lovely fonts.  Enjoy!

I stamped Lost Coast Designs Anchor Fish on blue card and embossed with copper embossing powder.  I water coloured him with shades of blue and used a stitched circle die to cut him out, fussy cutting his tail a little so it protruded over the edge of the panel.  Then I stamped the quote.  I found a piece of handmade card and stamped three more quotes.  I found a white card base and did some second generation stamping with Lost Coast Designs Bubbles Background stamp, for that subtle faded look.

Hop over to the blog to join the fun and don't forget to check out all the amazing inspiration from the team.   See you there!   Hugz

Hello Nomad friends.  Halloween.  Weird and wonderful.  Here's some artist trading cards using Gummiapan's Lennart die.....

From Autumn to Fall

Hello Nomad friends.  I couldn't find anyone to craft with this weekend so I suppose I must entertain myself.  Thanks to all those challenge blogs out there for giving me themes to craft to.   I really appreciate you.

Starting with an autumn themed tag inspired by quite a few challenges.

This little fox is a favourite of mine.  I used two different autumn leaf patterned papers from Papirdesigns, Tur i Skogen Fargefest og Høstblad, and cut the top of my tag with Papirdesigns Bølgekant circle dies.  Then I used the same dies to cut a small circle and a part circle from the darker leaf paper.  I stamped the small circle with the friend stamp from Papirdesign Nyt Livet and stamped the fox from  Revestreker, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  A piece of my favourite autumnal wool and done!!

Mrs A has just started a new butterfly challenge and the card fold was intriguing and by jolly, I think I have hit a full house!!!!

Mrs A is calling this a Slide and Lock card.  It's a gatefold with a very nifty closer.  Me likes.  Very easy to make and very fun.  I've been waiting to pull out this Kort og Godt butterfly patterned card for this challenge!!!   Butterflies everywhere!!!!  I die cut the Marianne Designs butterfly in the challenge colours, I've used a stitch die for the circles and also inside.

Inside I lined the three panels with the sea green paper stamped with some text in a similar green ink and the pink paper oval cut with a Sizzix stitch die.

And finally a little Halloween using a scratch paper panel I embossed with a Sizzix Spiderweb embossing folder and sanded off the black wax to give this holographic rainbow!!!

I used a kraft card base and cut the rainbow panel and a kraft panel with Taylored Expressions Colour Block Cutting Plate.  Then I pieced the rainbow rectangles into the kraft frame.  I stamped the witch and sentiment from Taylored Expressions Moka Tabitha on kraft card, cut them out and coloured the witch in a rainbow of Promarker colours.

Merry Christmoose

Hello Nomad friends.  It's the 10th of the month so time for the start of the Let's Squash It! challenge, and it's Friday, so that makes it perfect!!!!   This month we are all about sanding your embossed texture, but hold on there!!  We also want to see you using an embossing folder that includes numbers and/or letters.  Just a little twist to keep it interesting........   I did a Technique Time post a couple of days ago exploring different techniques and had a fun time generating some cool backgrounds.  This wasn't the one I thought to use today, but the moose jumped on it and claimed it for his own.......

If you are trying to work out if the background has anything to do with Christmas then sorry, I must sadly disappoint you!  I brayered some white card with Colourcraft pink Aztec paint, embossed with Cuttlebug Qwerty embossing folder and sanded to expose the white.  Aztec paints are pearlescent so this has a lovely shimmer.  I have a couple of big moose stamps but decided this guy in his scarf and legwarmers was da bomb on this background.  I borrowed the sentiment from a Woodware stamp set.  This moose is Eureka Elg with Scarf.  I added a little Promarker colour and a little glitter glue sparkle to his hat.

Thanks for dropping by.  Do hop over and check out the lovely inspiration from Jo and our guest designer and hope you feel like getting squashy with us.  Hugz

I Wanna Be A Ginger

Hello Nomad friends.  MFT published a new sketch yesterday and it's pretty, so I decided to roll out my MFT Viking stamp and make a tag.

I've gone all yellow/burnt orange for that heading into autumn feel.  I used the small square shadow stamp from Lost Coast Designs and Scattered Straw distress ink for the background pattern on a cream tag.  I coloured the Viking with promarkers, fussy cut and stamped the two sentiments with Dandelion archival ink.  A little rustic wool and done!!
